Fireball by Lee Gimenez is the author’s latest suspense/thriller featuring his protagonist J.T. Ryan and Erin Welch. They are joining forces to find the conspirators behind a plot to place America and Russia on a collision course leading to nuclear war. Yet the landscape is clouded by political manipulation that seems to be targeting the President of the United States. There is a looming threat of impeachment that will throw the nation into an imbalance, distracting it from the coming crisis. This is a storyline ripped from today’s headlines, brought to life in true Gimenez fashion.

The theme of deception resonates throughout the plot as the operatives realize that there is far more going on behind the scenes than meets the eye. Angel Stone becomes a person of interest during the investigation, but JT and Erin seem to come up empty. Her attempts to seduce a senile old billionaire, Viktor Papadopoulos, is of little consequence. Yet the conflict develops as CIA Rachel West goes missing, and JT seems to be drawn in the wrong direction by the incident. Erin is left wondering if Angel is conspiring to draw JT off-side as the nuclear clock ticks towards doomsday.

It’s another impressive installment of Gimenez’s action-packed series. Espionage readers and international thriller buffs won’t want to miss this one.

This latest J.T. Ryan novel could have been ripped from the headlines today. The chief justice of the Supreme Court, the Senate Majority Leader and a Catholic Cardinal are all murdered on the same night in spectacular ways. The President got the message and summoned a small group of people to his office. He tasked J.T. Ryan, a former Special Forces soldier, Erin Welch of the FBI and Rachel West of the CIA with finding out who or what was behind these attempts to disrupt the government. The President believes the tyranny is coming from traitors within the government. As Ryan, Welch and West race against the clock trying to uncover the culprits, well-organized demonstrations are conducted in major cities while some members of the house begin impeachment proceedings.
The action in this story flows from Washington DC to Georgia to Europe and the Scandinavian countries proving that when computer hacking and terror are organized it’s a small world.
This is one of those stories that moves constantly. There are no slow spots. When you jump on this ship, you’ll go for one hell of a ride.

Three devastating, hi-tech deaths kick off Lee Gimenez’ ‘Fireball’, ensuring readers are well and truly hooked from the first page in this intriguing, fast-paced thriller featuring the author’s protagonist, John Taylor (J.T.) Ryan. But, are they murders, or just freak accidents? If the former, are they connected given that the victims are the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, the Senate Majority Leader, and an important church leader – key figures in the social and political authority of the United States? And who’s next? People at the top of the democratic government are concerned, and rightly so. The President, himself a constant target of assassination attempts, sets up a special task force to investigate, composed of the Director of Intelligence, the head of the CIA’s Special Operations Division, an Assistant Director of the FBI, and freelancer J.T. Ryan. The scene is set for non-stop page turning and edge of your seat thrills, as author Gimenez sequesters the reader, and subjects them to hair-raising incidents and heart-stopping moments, taking them into the wee small hours of the dark night. Yes, the writing puts the hapless booklover right there alongside Gimenez’ characters as the novel races to its climax.

I find the author’s protagonist, J.T. Ryan, a fully fleshed out, normal person, unlike the superspy type you would habitually associate with high stakes thrillers of this genre, and the story is all the better for it, as its hero is subjected to all manner of vicissitudes, especially by a stand-out female antagonist, a former top CIA killer herself. Ryan is surrounded by a solid cast of support characters which lend credence to this tale where the risks all face culminate in a potential nuclear conflict.

An amazing novel that appears so plausible given actual world events. I highly recommend this to fans of modern espionage thrillers: Lee Gimenez is up there with the best!

Fireball is one political thriller by Lee Gimenez you can't put down

Three high prominent Americans are assassinated on the same night: the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court in Montana; the Senate Majority Leaser of Congress in Washington D.C.; and Cardinal Baker in Atlanta, Georgia.

President Steve Harris call Four people into his office: John J.T Ryan, private investigator; Mike Corso, Director of National Intelligence; Alex Miller, CIA's Special Operations division; and Erin Welch, Assistant Director of the FBI. Rachel West, of the CIA, is added to the team later by Alex Miller.

The members of this team was selected by the president to investigate what appears to be a world-wide group of people who have decided to bring down the U.S. government. This group seems to have advance technology that exceeds many high-level agencies inside the government as well as an infinite source of funds to support their dangerous activities. The president has told his team to report to him only and to tell no one about their purpose, members, nor any of their actions.

This is one of those books with so much action that it is difficult to stop at any time. It's also an adventure that is truly well worth your time! You won't regret it!

This was my first book featuring JT Ryan. Espionage, terrorism, snipers, heads of government agencies being killed, informants, spies, and CIA, FBI, and NSA involvement. With characters like JT, Rachel, Erin, Alex, President Harris, and more, there's lots of action. I loved the whay the bad people were referred to as numbers in a group set up to destroy America. The story takes you to Washington DC, Atlanta, Norway, and Iceland, as the story unfolds. Just when the story turns in favor of the good guys, somethings happens to add a new twist. I'll read more by this author.

Another terrific thriller via uber talented Lee Gimenez. Both my Darling Hubby & I relish comparing notes on his thrillers, with vivid settings that Lee's actually visited, so they're extra believable, plus of the entirely clever trials & trivails of his well fleshed out characters, can't help but root for J.T. Ryan! I've got his newest "The Sigma Conspiracy" on deck but am savoring being able to read yet another entirely diverting, enjoyable options of his prolific line-up! Can't wait for the next 'installment'! LOL

If you plan on packing it in for an early evening, don't, repeat don't, pick up Fireball in the afternoon. The book is a non-stop, full of espionage, and once you start it you won't be able to put it down kind of book. J.T. Ryan, private investigator and sometime help to the FBI, and Erin Welch, Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI's Atlanta's Field Office are given a mysterious assignment directly from the President himself! Other people join the assignment, one being Rachel West who happens to be J.T.'s girlfriend. It isn't necessary to read the other books associated with these characters, but I would recommend it. So pick up your copy of Fireball and enjoy the ride with these extremely likable characters. Just remember I told you not to read it in the afternoon. You will NOT put this book down, I guarantee it!
