I’d moved on. Until Ben Taylor walked into my camp. I swore off men. Forever. Period. The end. Ben Taylor was the cause - the perfect muscled military hero. The green-eyed angel who stole my soul. He claimed I cheated on him. I told him I wouldn’t cheat on the man who owned my heart. I’ve moved on. I help other women now. Women like me whose hearts have been smashed into pieces. I offer them the space and support to heal. One day I might even heal myself. Six years since I last saw him – still the perfect muscled military hero, now with a cute kid in tow. Still my first and only love. Still the man who didn’t trust me enough to listen. The man who broke my heart. I’ve sworn off men. For good. And I’ve sworn off Ben Taylor. Right?
Why must the Heros ALWAYS move on to OW while heroine stay frozen and take their sorry asses back??? For once, I’d like to see a romance in which Hero stays TRUE to the woman they are supposed to love – even when they are apart! Is that too much to ask writers?????
I have not read this – nor do I ever want to – but based on reviews, this so-called “Hero” is a douchefart and heroine SHOULD have kicked his sorry ass & send him packing!
Ben and Lindsey were quite the couple six years ago, but when someone tells Ben that Lindsey cheated on him, he up and left to join the SEALs. She swore it wasn’t true, but he didn’t believe her. Now, they each are running camps to help people—hers to help women get over traumatic experiences, and his a SEAL style boot camp. When Ben reaches out to the lady running the camp for help with his guys having PTSD, he never expects to see Lindsey again. The sparks are still there but so is his distrust. Especially since his ex-wife not only cheated on him but also abandoned their son. This was an interesting premise, but Ben’s unwillingness to believe Lindsey even in the face of her steadfast stance that she was innocent and the lack of any real evidence to the contrary was such a mantra for him that I wanted her to just send him packing.
Ben and Lyndsey dated 6 years ago and broke up when he gladly accused her of cheating. Present day has moved back home with his FOUR YEAR OLD son. He unknowingly contacts her (didn’t recognize each other’s voices, because that makes sense but whatever) when looking for help with a program he started. The meet realize their history and immediately get drunk and fall into bed. She maintains that he was the love of her life so of course she has remained pure and chaste during his absence. He however (very close to their breakup) fell “madly in love” his words, with another woman and even had a child with her. How is this a romantic story? What made this concept a good idea? He didn’t really love her the first time, but once he has actually cheated on and has a kid in tow, well then she is good enough I guess... What a waste.
At the beginning of the book, Ben felt raw and betrayed after his wife left him and their son 3 months before. Suddenly he is at the bar in what sounds like a nice restaurant getting drunk with his first ex that also supposedly betrayed him. Then they end up going back to her place to immediately have sex. There are actually 2 different accounts of how this happens. The inconsistency starts early and continues! He’s wearing shoes when he gets there and boots when he leaves. There are so many of these errors throughout the book just go with it and don’t go back and reread. It’s just a mess so accept it.
He also moved on from 1st ex quickly to the next woman & married her and had a kid so you know he got over her fast - no maybe not- read on. His first ex stays true to him of course for 6 years even though he dumped her. Hate seeing whimpy females like this!
These guys are former Navy SEALs that giggle. Ben says he would scream if someone popped up in the bushes unexpectedly - really sounds like a SEAL - right! The guys have a survival training center and pair with a group of women from abusive and traumatic situations from a neighboring yoga, painting, nature, therapy group for combined self defense classes..... Sure .. that works.
The storyline is terrible and the characters are shallow and unlikable. The editing seems nonexistent considering the inconsistencies throughout the book. I don’t understand how this book got such high ratings.
Ben and Lindsey's story was full of angst, misunderstandings, mistrust, betrayals, first love, jealousy, false rumors, heartache, heartbreak, healing, a long journey to find each other back again, second chance at love, filled with emotions, self-doubt, self revelations, truths coming out, forgiveness, moving on from the pain and into happiness, realizing when your wrong and rectifying that error and above all else, a happy ending; this story had all of that and so much more. A wonderful second chance romance story by this author! :)

This book was a good read. I liked the premise of the book...ex Navy SEAL making a life for him and his son. Lindsey was his first love that he couldn't get over. The one thing I would've liked more of is the conversation about their past happening sooner rather than later. It was mentioned so many times, but it happened so late in the book that it lost its luster. The way it was presented made the whole 6 year absence seem less important than it should've been. But that could be me. It is a good book and I'm glad I read it.
Redemption is the second chance romance between Ben and Lindsey. Though this book had its moments, it read more like a self help book. There was a lot of repetitive thought process. Aside from Nicole, it seemed like the banter cheesy. Even the “thoughts” were sophomoric and didn’t belong in an adult romance book. It didn’t seem like any of the prior Brent books I’ve read. Needless to say, I was a bit disappointed with this one. I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review.
Amy Brent gives us a second chance romance story of first love, rumors, jealousy, betrayal, hot chemistry, heartbreak, healing, so many emotions, and moving on.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. Once I started I couldn't put this book down. Chemistry between Ben and Lindsey sizzles with each turn of the page. Another fantastic story by Amy Brent.
Ben and Lindsey were in love 6 years ago. Jealousy and mistrust destroyed their relationship. Ben joined the navy, got married had a son and got divorced. Lindsey seemed to not move on. Not a plus for me. Ben and Lindsey get a second chance to have their HEA. They struggle to trust and move forward. It's a back and forth love hate relationship.

Redemption By: Amy Brent Can He Find Redemption Within Her Loving Embrace?! He needs Redemption, Absolution, Forgiveness, & a Second Chance! He screwed up Six years ago, & he left the best thing that ever happened to him behind with a Shattered Heart.... Now, he's back, & he needs her help for his business, which forces him to face the past... Did he make a mistake believing a friend over HER, or was he RIGHT to leave... Everyday they spend together makes him second guess the past... Can they MOVE on with Everything still hanging OVER their heads... Will they survive the fallout of a confrontation over the past... Will he find REDEMPTION in her arms... I was granted an ARC of "Redemption" by Amy Brent; I can honestly say she's a gifted storyteller, & I'm happy to recommend this book based upon its own merits. All opinions expressed within this review are uniquely my own & freely given! Until next time... Happy Reading!
What can you possibly say about Ms Amy Brent that hasn't already been said? She crafts engaging characters and storylines that are so wonderful to read. You know how you choose to lose yourself in a great book, just to escape from your everyday problems? Ms Amy Brent is one of my go-to authors for romance. Redemption is an unbelievably delightful read centered around two people that really are perfect for one another. After being wrongly accused of cheating on the love of her life, Lindsey, picked up the pieces of her heart and decided that she could help others heal (even if her heart never truly mended). As a now single Father, this ex Navy Seal, Ben helps his Son the best he can, as well as others, through a survivalist camp. When following his partners suggestion to team up with another camp, Ben reunites with Lindsey. While neither stopped loving the other, he believed she betrayed him years ago. Can they work together? Could he of been wrong? Can they rekindle what was once perfect? The chemistry and passion between them is still there and the struggles they face are up to them to overcome. Can they fix past mistakes and heal together? Is it really a second chance if they never stopped loving each other? I found Redemption to be the perfect romance and strongly recommend reading this release.
I voluntarily requested an advanced reader's copy of Redemption in exchange for my honest opinion and I believe that you will enjoy it from cover to cover as I have done.
Will She Give Him A Second Chance ? Lindsay loved Ben. He supposedly loved her. But the first, and only, time that he is told by Chad [not a friend] that she cheated on him he just ups and leaves without giving her a chance to say what happened. He even blocked her from contacting him. never to see him for over 6 years. But now he's back from the Navy SEALs with his best friend, Paul, also an ex SEAL and they're building a business which will be aided by a therapist. Paul encourages Ben to make contact with this person and can you imagine his shock when he finds out it is his Lindsay. She hasn't really moved on with her emotional life as she was so heartbroken by his treatment of her. But the love is still there. But does he deserve a second chance? He also has a surprise of his own called Jacob. Can Lindsay forgive him for being so hurtful and immature? Beautifully written by Amy Brent and I loved the build up as to why he just upped and left. Though his Mum is the one who really lets on the truth behind it all. Great character development and depth of storyline. I received a reader's copy of this book and voluntarily leave my honest opinion of it here.
Most Definitely Recommended. I can't wait for her next romantic adventure!

Ben and Lindsey dated 6 years ago and broke up when he accused her of cheating and instead of discussing or getting to the truth he left joining the SEALS. While away Ben gets married and has a 4 year old son but, the marriage ends when his wife left them. Move ahead to present day. Ben opens a survival and self defense camp with his best friend Paul and Ben is trying to put his life back together. Lindsey opens a camp helping women to focus on the present to get over painful pasts from break ups, abusive relationships to low self esteem. Ben is looking looking for help with a program he started so, he contacts the owner of Lindsey's camp to set up a meeting to discuss the program as he has members who suffer from PTSD. He didn't know the owner was Lindsey, his love from 6 years ago until they meet and they end up getting drunk and end up in bed together. Does Lindsey agree to help Ben with his program?? Can Ben and Lindsey work through what happened 6 years ago?? Do they get back together?? To find out you truly need to read this awesome book!! I truly loved this book!!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. I am a hopeless romantic and love second chance love stories. I loved this book, Lindsey’s heart was broken years ago when Ben accused her of cheating on him when in fact didn’t happen and he wouldn’t listen to anything she had to say. How do you recover from that? You pick yourself up, dust yourself off and move on and put the pieces back together which is exactly what she did. Now as Ben walks back into her life with his son with him, it’s sparking all kinds of feelings for both of them. The chemistry is still there and once they were explosive together, but so much has happened and the fact he didn’t trust her and believed rumors over her word, can they work through their past to come out on top and be together again like they should’ve been all along? Well, I guess you will need to grab this to find out, no spoilers here. Loved it!!
This book keeps your attention from the first page. Ben had always wanted to be a Navy SEAL, but when he was dating Lindsey, he couldn't make himself leave her. When he heard a rumor that she had cheated on him, he took it as a sign and left for bootcamp, even though he knew she would never do anything to hurt him like that. Six years later, when they are both back in the small town they grew up in, Ben is needing a therapist for his survival camp and hears that there is a therapy camp that might have just the person, never dreaming that it was the same Lindsey from his past. The chemistry between these characters is off the wall from the time they see each other until the end. Ben and Lindsey need a little support from their best friends to push them in the right direction, but what are best friends for anyway. One of the better second chance romance book I have read in some time. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we meet Ben and Lindsey. Both of them run camps for people to empower themselves. One is from a therapy, yoga, healthy eating group the other is military guys. Both groups however realize the benefits of therapy for their clients. The other problem both owners both want and don't want each other. Can they put aside their past hurts to find a HEA or will it all be to much?
This is an amazing story. It has its ups and downs that I really want to tell you about. However I don't want to ruin the story for any other readers. I will say this book will grab you from the first page and not let go until the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
Ben and Lindsey meet up again after breaking up and they both are working in camps geared to empower and help individuals through things. When they talk about working together and each camp offering the clients other benefits they end up talking about their past. Due to a rumor someone told about Linsey Ben ending things between them but once he finally listens to Lindsey and sees that he might've acted rashly end things between them. Can they manage to find their ways back to each other?
This is a great story once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between Ben and Lindsey sizzles with each turn of the page. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
This book took a bit to get into at the beginning, Lindsay and Bens story started 6yrs ago when they where madly in love and there lives as a couple would end so suddenly over a misunderstanding that never got resolved. Fast forward 6 yrs and Ben is back in town to live and work with his best friend Paul both are now retired navy seals in there camp and it’s where Lindsay still is she never left so she and her best friend Nicole opened a camp for women to work through any problems in there lives. This second chance at love could be what each other has been waiting for and with the hot chemistry between them it might just work out but they both need to put the past to rest once and for all. I voluntarily reviewed an arc copy of this book for an honest review.
This book is so bad and ludicrous that it is actually insulting to the reader. Ben and Lindsay are the loves of each other’s lives and haven’t seen each other in six years. They broke up because he accused her of cheating on him, but she never did (a-hole alert!). At about 10% in, he calls someone with this exact ex-girlfriend’s name to set up a business meeting with her and they DO NOT recognize each other’s voices over the phone. You have got to be kidding...SERIOUSLY??? I should have stopped there because it went from bad to worse. They meet again, immediately get drunk and start having mind-blowing sex infused with endless cliched dialogue. By this time, I I was DONE. The one silver lining is I borrowed it through was Kindle Unlimited and I didn’t have to waste money on it!

Rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. We meet Ben and Lindsey, former lovers who broke up 7 years ago when Ben thought Lindsey was cheating..plus he took off to going the military. Fast forward 6 yrs, ben is a single divorced father who just moved home and opened a military like boot camp with his bff. Lindsey is a counselor helping women in their struggle to heal with her bff. Ben needs a counselor to help with PTSD guys that attend and Lindsey is the one who is recommended...unbeknownst to him it's his ex. When they come face to face, will past hurts be that...in the past? Or will they attempt to move on?
If you like second chance romances then you will love Ben & Lindsey story and Jacob will melt your heart. Lindsey and Ben never thought they would see each other but fate has other plans. Once they see each other the chemistry is still there but the past has not be forgotten. Can they finally leave the past behind so that they can have the future that they were always meant too have? Great story with likable characters. I’m hoping Paul & Nicole’s story will be told.
I voluntarily reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Lindsey and Ben was a couple six years ago. But Ben was told that Lindsey cheated on him and he chooses to belive the rumours and left her to join the navy seals. Now he is back in his hometown with his four year old son. The chemistry between the two of them are still strong but can they for forgive each other and move forward? A great book very emotional and so well written. It was so hot and romantic. It was also very exeting and I couldn't wait to find out if they still had a chance together. I loved it
This may contain spoilers** First of all it wasn't a bad book but wasn't my cup of tea. Second Ben seemed too worried about having sex with Lindsey and not worried enough about the son that was already abandoned. Last and the most important was the back and forth I love you, you cheated, do I love him, blah blah blah went on and on and on. Normally at about 50% the couple at least tries to be a couple...this one couldn't get their heads out of their behinds to do that. The author is good, the story was just too long with not enough sweetness
I love this second chance romance! Ben broke Lindsey's heart when he left her six years ago. He claims she cheated on him, never giving her a chance to explain. Noe Ben is an ex SEAL running a camp with his best friend Paul. When Paul suggest they need a therapist for some of their recruits, the last person Ben expects to meet is Lindsey. The chemistry is still there, but can they get past their own demons and work out what happened in the past, and what is happening now? This is a drama filled, sweet and sexy story...I loved it!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the characters. This was a fantastic second chance romance, retired navy seal gets,a second chance at love with the girl he left behind. This was a cover to cover non-stop read for me,I couldn't put it down, it kept my interest right from the start. This book at times made me laugh, cry, and cheer, it had so much to say, everything from misunderstandings about past transgressions, to insecurities about themselves, things we all go thru at times. This is one book you won't want to miss.
A book that was a bit boring and repetitive for my liking. Ben and Lindsay have a second chance at love but I just couldn't connect with these two. I though both of their characters were just kind of plain for me. Now having said that, please know that this is my personal opinion and I how felt about the book. I have read several other books from this author and have enjoyed them. So please read all the reviews and the authors synopsis if this is how you purchase your reading material. Just because it wasn't one of my favorites, doesn't mean it won't be one of yours.
I usually love a goid, second chance, romance. I just never really got into this one. The male lead, was supposed to be a single father, ex Navy Seal, but I found his character too feminine. I have 5 brothers, 3 of which were Marines, and I can tell you that not one of them would know the name of the sparkles on a dress, wouldn't talk, or use some of the phrases the way this character does. I liked that the female lead was strong, but that's about it. I just wasn't feelin it.
