Lost Pirates

Rate this book
Level up while crafting advanced weapons. Travel through time to form your team of ladies. Try not to f@ck it up.

Book 1 of the Lost Pirates trilogy.

Frank was never the save-the-world type. He joined his college's Jedi dueling club to impress a chick he was into, and only stayed because he was too embarrassed to quit. He’s the type to have a crush, but the closest he’s gotten to action lately is when he stumbles upon his roommate having a hot threesome.

Damn, he'd love to feel what it's like to be that guy.

Be careful what you wish for... Life takes an unexpected turn when Frank discovers his grandpa's secret and travels back in time. Finding himself in a land of pirates that doesn’t quite line up with what he learned in history class, Frank soon learns he has a special ability to craft weapons based on locations someone has laid out for him and related to the time-travel device. All while bonding with a team of hot-as-sin pirate ladies.

Someone else has been traveling in time and messing it up, and now Frank’s the only one who can go up against the new Pirate King and put everything as it was.

Of course, while finally getting that threesome he was so envious of... and then some.

Harem readers, Gamelit lovers, and anyone else who wants a crazy story with highly adult situations and fun galore should read on. The rest of you, run away as fast as you can before the vileness of this content spreads and sucks you into a story you can’t escape.

For fans of harem gamelit who enjoyed the Sliders and Black Sails shows.

It all started when Jamie was eleven, creating nude superhero comics with his best friend. What perverts! But hey, they were fun and provided good fodder for jokes up into their adult years. Now the stories have evolved, but they capture that same level of fun. Hopefully you will enjoy them as much as the author loved writing them!

Jamie also spent five years in Marine Corps intelligence, studied Muay Thai in Thailand, and lived in Japan for over three years. A lot of this plays into Jamie's books.

So I rather liked this book. It was interesting to watch the main character grow the way that he did and he also (surprise surpise) didn't b!tch the entire time about it being unfair that he was thrown into an area that he wasn't supposed to be *side eye to books with MC's who cry all the damn time* With that said, this book is def a litRPG, but the one thing that I like the most about this is that it definately has the back to the future vibe going to it and now they have to go and figure out how to correct the time's so that the future comes out "correctly." So while this started in the 17XX, he's now going to have to go to a different time and find a way to correct everything that's currently wrong. This is shaping up to be a fun series. The other thing that I like is the fact that the women in this story are not pushover's or just there for decoration. I know that when it comes to harem's people tend to just follow the "alpha male" role and that be it, but I'm liking the evolution of this. The women, aren't there just as eye candy. They are more than capable in their own right and "don't need no man" to do anything for them. They were fine before he showed up and will continue to be fine if he leaves. Another thing I like is the fact that most of the main characters in this book have some depth to them and that there's definitely a hint of Black Beard being born due to this incident. The LAST thing is that the villain of this story actually has a noble reason for doing what he's doing. He's trying to stop Hitler from ever coming to power. Which when you think about it, is he really wrong in trying to do that? Either way, I'm interested in seeing how this all pans out and I'm looking forward to reading the next book.

Not for me I Didn't even like the MC, expected the entire book that one of the girls will betray the idiot but magic dick wins loyalty lowering pirate intelect by 250%, I expected a pirate story with some sex as a passing afterthought not the reason of the book to exist being dumb sex group.

Lost Pirates - a review by Rosemary Kenny

A GameLit Harem Fantasy with a difference, Lost Pirates by Master of Hi-jinks in Time, Jamie Hawke, tells the story of Star Wars nerdy college student Frank, whose idea to get laid at last consists of joining the college's Jedi fencing club. Somewhat isolated from his Father and with his Mom no longer in the picture, Frank's main inspiration has been his kooky Granddad, who like the Professor in Back to the Future collects odd, seemingly worthless bits and pieces with the intention of making something worthwhile out of them some day.
With a passing nod to The Magic Compass and Jumanji, Lost Pirates is an enjoyable 'what if...' fantasy GameLit-based adventure, that is full of 'action' in every sense of the word - definitely for over 18s only!

I enjoyed Frank's well-developed transition from nerdy youth to confident hero, experienced in the ways of love and war by boosting his Levels, skill points etc, via the compass' powers and successful fighting and combat skills and more..
The advent of the Pirate King and his revelation as a self-serving WWII engineer, bent on seizing total power over the Pirate world and moulding it in his own corrupt image, was a very interesting twist and the fact he'd known and harmed Frank's grandparents, (when they resisted his megalomania) was much more interesting than the usual cliched, "'bad guy' in one place and with limited ambition beyond ruling the time he's in, who stays one-dimensional".
Finally, the way Frank (and the women), met his Grandma, still alive and very much in control of her own fate, struck a happy chord, especially when she could then help her Grandson by giving them the matching/connected compass, to track down Rick the Dick...it was nostalgic and not too sickly-sweet/drawn out.
The shock for Frank etc when he realised his home wasn't 'his' any longer and how that must have come to pass was ingenious too.

No negative impressions/plot-line etc to report, making this a 5-star story for me. (Hopefully), many more episodes to follow please, Mr Hawke!

For some people, LitRPG and/or Harem can never go wrong. To me, those basically tells me "don't have any expectations". Why? These seem to be part of the latest trend and are mass produced.

Anyways, what do you think the book would be about from the title, cover and description? "Time Travel. Pirates. Leveling Up and Crafting."? Sorta. Harem? Yeah.

Let's just tackle the description vs what I listened to so far.

Time Travel? Possibly. Unless you're a complete shut in with no internet or a phone with zero social activity, I'm pretty sure you would be exposed to some form of Marvel, DC, science fiction/fantasy books, or Star Wars. For some reason, our protagonist instantly thought and concluded that he space and time traveled to the period where pirates reigned. There are so much materials that support time travel, teleportation, transporting and etc. He shouldn't jump to conclusion that he simply time traveled to the same Earth. Oh, let's not even talk about how the whole time travel started and the continuity aspect.

Pirates? Yes, there are definitely a lot of pirates. In fact, there are only pirates and nothing else, no citizens or other authorities. I'm no pirate expert so I can't say much, but, at least, there aren't any cliche pirate accent?

Leveling Up? In a way, yes. It's a very weak aspect. I'm not saying there needs to be a full page long character sheet with many many skills. It's just poorly incorporated. I rather have a Compass Goddess who simply give boons after killing off evil non-believing pirates.

Crafting? The quantity and quality of the crafting aspect in this book is like changing a light bulb. Seriously, I forgot what the author called it but to transform a gun that can shoot twice to a pistol with multiple rounds, all you need to do is just slap on new parts. You don't need tools or tinkering or anything. They're all just snapped on. If you're assembling, sure. But the author made it sounds like the protagonist is tinkering, crafting or making big changes.

Harem? 140% Pirate girls are extremely open. Apparently, the protagonist's harem is just open enough to pull down his pants instantly but not open enough to sleep with other men while with him. How fortunately. Not much to say about it, they all got some background, more or less. But I don't really care for them. Actually, I don't even care about the protagonist either.

Plot? A nerdy kid suddenly "time traveled" back in to the pirate period with a powerful compass that gives game elements to save the world from an evil time traveler while sleeping with 4 girls. The plot is mediocre, not great nor bad. But the construction of it is not good.

Narration? Overall, it's pretty good. You don't have a ton of accents but you don't need to. But some of the female voices are...like female ogres. I know one of them was meant to be more masculine, a brutish kind of woman. But that doesn't mean she needs to be so stereotypical.

In conclusion? 1.5 stars, just between I don't like it and it's okay. The book is just poorly constructed.

Pirate's, harems, sex, action, drama, betrayal, RPG, magic item, strange technology, sword fights, guns, cannons, explosions, pirate ships and so much more. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Jamie has done it again with a new twist on the Harem Gamelit genre. Follow Frank on his twisted jaunt through time with his grandpa's old compass. Only to find out the past isn't what it was supposed to be. Technology too advanced is showing up on the Caribbean. Now Frank and his harem of lovely ladies have to explore, treasure hunt and find new technology to solve a mystery hundreds of years in the making.

What's wrong with me and Harem LitRPG lately?
Why do I keep expecting mature scenes to imply mature plot?
Have I been spoiled by GrimDark?

I really just want a good LitRPG that actually tries to be gritty and... You know?
And I keep stumbling on these insipid teenage wet-dreams.

At least, this book gets a finish and an extra star for the first creative game interface I've seen in LitRPG so far. I wish others would also attempt to dispense with the ridiculous overlay screen.

'Nough said.

I think this is my last Jamie Hawke book. Time travel books are tricky at the best of times and Hawke only makes a passing attempt at setting up a functional system for it, he splices in LitRPG elements for no reason, and the female characters are as unrealistic as ever.

This is a teenager's wet dream. No logic, no real sexiness, just a kid thinking only about his dick. Pass.

Was good but story wise it didn't make sense.

Like the premise and time travel but the litrpg elements didn't make sense to add and the story could have literally be better without it. You have a kid with sword skills, science, and engineering skills less value when he can just get a point to gain a skill for something he could have done with his background. There was no real danger even though the beginning chapters gave such great moments. The harem too was omg out of the blue when the character himself doesn't know how it happen. I get the white knighting to get the girl but it literally was two lines and she had her helpers do it for her. Great backstories for each of them but they just made the harem seem way more unlikely to happen. I get the fan service but this one broke my head at the end. Oh and the villain isn't the villain we all though he was because even his reasoning seemed flawed. Even the future science used in the book seemed flawed when we realize they originated in ww2 and it was a lack luster engineer. I figured out the rest of the story and know their gonna be at least two more books but this could have been a self contained book with a series after. Think back to the future.

So many plot holes

The story is good but would be EPIC if there weren't so many plot holes. Dialog and explanations to keep the story moving are barely touched on or skipped completely. Mr. Hawke keeps giving us appetizer after appetizer teasing us with an epic finale only to leave you confused as to what just happened. The adult situations are graphic, aka awesome, but seemed to be added haphazardly when he couldnt think of what to write next. I've read a lot of Hawke's books and they are all like this one. After I read the next book in this series I probably won't ever read another because they are all the same. You've read one, you've read them all. Nerdy young guy wants more out of life, gets transported somewhere fantastic, gets powers, bangs a bunch of insanely hot women all the time, becomes a hero, and that's it for every book I've read of his. And all of the characters are flat and one dimensional. Except for the sex and language I would think these books are for elementary kids.

First book was ok. A time traveler in a pirate world on mission. He find a few interesting girls.

2nd book ruined it all. The premise of returning to his future where everything is changed is bad. And then the author throws a crap of time traveling theorys, viking, ninjas and alternative version of everything. Meanwhile the MC just blindy keeps running around like a lost and scared puppy. No character developement. They leave a few good characters behind and instead brings his younger horny grandma, who flashes people for food and catches him doing it. If thats your thing, read the book. I say it sucked, too bad!!!

If gamelit is your thing then read this book

Will admit, it was the pirate, part of the title that decided me on taking a punt . The harem helped as well, glad I did.
The first few chapters should be considered as a starter in what turns out to be a great main course, just need the sweet and cheese board to follow. Hope that will not be long in being written.
Nicely paced blood, guts and humour.
What more could you want in a novel.

Interesting take

Well this was not a bad story and seemed rather enjoyable. The big fight with the baddie was not quite like I figured it would be. If a 2nd book comes out I will probably read it.

Good read.

The book was a bit fast paced, but the story is good in my opinion. Also, to those that like to skip around in books. If you want to get the best out of this book read the whole thing otherwise you will get lost.

Good

Loved this book and it's characters. The story is really good. Villains you want to root against and heroes you want to love. It's about a young man who goes back in history and runs into pirates. The sex in the book is also done properly. Thumbs up.

OMG!! to be a 17 year old boy again. This book made me laugh at the absurd world the protagonist enters. Written for the basement dwelling D&D boy who struggles to speak to girls his age. There is a good concept hidden in the prose but I would not recommend this book to my wife.

This was a fun story about time travel and a MC who finds himself; like a coming of age! I loved the characters abd the smut! The only thing that wasn’t so good was the corny catch phrases. It was kinda silly. But the sex was great with pirate girls!
