Minnie and Ben are back for more murder and mayhem! Minnie Crockwell, recreational vehicle enthusiast and traveler, and her ghost companion, Ben, are heading to Devils Tower. The massive monolith dominating the Wyoming landscape is the stuff of legends...and mysteries. One such mystery finds Minnie and Ben before than they find him. A little green man/alien leads them on a merry chase to solve the Trouble at Devils Tower. Each story in the series can stand alone, but to avoid extensive repetition of the backstory, the books would be best read in order. Book 1 - Trouble at Happy Trails Book 2 - Trouble at Sunny Lake Book 3 - Trouble at Glacier Book 4 - Trouble at Hungry Lake Book 5 – Trouble at Snake and Clearwater Book 6 – Trouble in Florence Book 7 – Trouble in Tombstone Town Book 8 – Trouble in Cochise Stronghold Book 9 – Trouble in Orange Beach Book 10 – Trouble at Pelican Penthouse Book 11 – Trouble at Island Castle Book 12 – Trouble at Yellowstone Book 13 – Trouble at Devils Tower
Minnie Crockwell is the author of the "Will Travel for Trouble" series of short cozy mysteries featuring Minnie, recreational vehicle (RV) enthusiast and traveler, and her companion, Peregrine Ebenezer (Ben) Alvord, a 19th century cartographer with the Lewis and Clark expedition who just happens to be a ghost! The short cozy mysteries feature Ben and Minnie's adventures on the road as they discover that no one knows what goes on behind the closed doors of those happy campers. Join them for a bumpy ride!
Minnie lives, travels and writes full time in a Class A recreational vehicle. Although she owns a house in Washington State, she enjoys living in other towns and states which the RV allows her to do. She enjoys hearing from readers. You can contact her at minniecrockwell@gmail.com. Minnie also writes time travel romances as Bess McBride.
Book 1: Trouble at Happy Trails Book 2: Trouble at Sunny Lake Book 3: Trouble at Glacier Book 4: Trouble at Hungry Horse Book 5: Trouble at Snake and Clearwater Book 6: Trouble in Florence Book 7: Trouble in Tombstone Town Book 8: Trouble in Cochise Stronghold
Another short and fun addition to the "Will Travel for Trouble" mystery series.
Ben, the ghost, that travels with Minnie seems to become more and more human. He can't pass through walls anymore and now they also can't communicate without words anymore. I can't wait to see where this going....
Minnie tries to chase down a guy in an alien outfit who always tags her and Ben with a little red light. Midrun the guy falls to the ground dead as a doornail. Did Minnie cause his death or are there now even aliens involved...?
For a quick, fun read, it's hard to beat Minnie Crockwell. Could have been a little longer but I appreciate the tightness of the plot, good editing, and great characters. And something strange is happening with Ben! I will definitely avoid the Phone Home Campground.
Trouble in Devils Tower is the thirteenth book in Minnie Crockwell's Will Travel For Trouble series. The series follows Minnie, a retired government worker and recreational vehicle enthusiast, as she continues her retirement adventures traveling from one RV park to another, hoping to enjoy a peaceful relaxing stay. Trouble at Devils Tower has Minnie embroiled smack dab in the investigation of the death a man she accidentally chases to his death. Did she cause his death? What about the aliens he was concerned about? Minnie is determined to find out. The author keeps reader interest high with action, good characterization, and a fast pace to the stories. Minnie is curious, willful, and often being warned by her ghostly companion, Ben, (I love this guy!) to back off and let the officials take care of solving the mystery. And now Ben is beginning to materialize--where will that lead? With some twists and turns to the plot, the author keeps you guessing to the end of the story. Trouble at Devils Tower is another fun addition to the series. I listened to a copy of the audiobook and the narrator, Michelle Babb, does a nice job of giving characters their unique voice, making for an enjoyable listening experience. I enjoyed the book and look forward to listening to the rest of the books in the series. I received a complimentary copy of the audiobook and was not required to write a review. The opinions are my own.
This was a very different scenario for Minnie and Ben. Different but not in a bad way. This book kept me entertained for a couple of hours and to be honest I did guess pretty early on but it in no way ruined the story. I’m enjoying the changes in between Minnie and Ben it rings true having a few bad words rather than them being happy all the time.
I loved the theme. It was unusual but fun. I’m just about to start book 14. I just can’t get enough.
Ben and Minnie again. It has been awhile and their adventure continue. This smartly written novella is captivating. Ben is evolving and he makes me take a breathe and think of having a Ben in my life-threatening on to El Paso.
A slightly more unusual outing for Minnie and Ben. The story was entertaining and the relationship changes between them are developing the story a little. I enjoyed the descriptions of the area. Michelle Babb does the usual excellent job wit the narration. I received a complimentary copy of the audio book and am leaving a honest voluntary review
This is a short but entertaining mystery with no shortage of twists and turns. The character development in Ben is great, however, Minnie is a little too pushy and needs to be reeled in a bit.
I listened to the audio version of this book. Narrator Michelle Babb is a great storyteller. She brings the characters to life and has a pleasant voice to listen to.
All thoughts and opinions are my own, and in no way, I have been influenced by anyone.
