Hands down JD Hawkins’ best book to date! A sweet, sexy lifelong friends to lovers romance that flowed perfectly from beginning to end.

Temptation is a wonderfully written friend to lovers romance that is by one of my favorite male authors, J.D. Hawkins. Hawkins has this niche with the way that he writes that brings out personalities, emotions, and a setting in a scene that draws me in as a reader.
In Temptation we have lifelong friends Wyatt Hyde and Melinda Stapleton whose families have grown up together. Memories, feelings, and friendship make coming home and leaving the big city life behind an easy decision for Wyatt. He's ready to take on a new challenge when it comes to work and in a relationship. Wyatt holds onto an old scar that could destroy any chances when it comes to fully commit to loving someone. Wyatt definitely knows his way around romance and bringing a woman to her knees. The only woman he wants is the one he never stopped thinking about.
Melinda is that shy character that hides behind a camera. She's funny, talented and somehow doesn't see how beautiful she is. I love the connection she has with Wyatt, he brings out the best in her. Giving in to the temptation of her childhood crush maybe more than she ever expected.
I loved everything about this story, the secondary characters are all deserving of their own story to tell. I couldn't help but smile when reacquainted with past characters. Wholly Smokes! The sexual chemistry is off the charts ... HOT. I recommend that you get lost in this story of a bond between families, friends and falling in love.

J.D. Hawkins’ Temptation is a swoon-worthy friends-to-lovers story that is emotionally satisfying, heartwarmingly romantic and fan-yourself-worthy hot. Melina’s and Wyatt’s families have been close for most of their lives, and they’ve always been loyal friends who share a special connection. Wyatt has lived on the other side of the country for the past eight years, but he’s back home and considering staying permanently. Through a twist of fate, he and Melina are working together, and their friendship now simmers with attraction and the potential for more. Being around each other every day at the office fans the flames of attraction, and their longing for each other is downright palpable. They’re both a little nervous about taking the leap from friends to lovers, and it’s a feel-good, breathtaking experience when they do. Temptation has a lot of heart and a whole lot of sexy.

This is a friends to lovers romance. Their families have known each other for many years, and she's always had a crush on him, but he dated her older sister, so she knew nothing would ever come of it. Yet he knew her and understood her more than anyone else. They've always had a special sort of relationship. She's pretty fresh out of college and struggling to make a career of her dream to be a photographer. She's good, but lacks the self-confidence to really push her work. She's also a bit shy and introverted, which doesn't help get her work seen. She's smart, but hides behind her camera. He's been living in New York gaining success and notoriety in the PR business. He likes his cars fast and women faster. That is until he realizes he doesn't feel fulfilled and decides to take a job back home. His parents failed marriage left him not wanting to commit to anyone for fear of the pain when it ends. Can this girl with a secret crush get him to change his stance on relationships? He may have a playboy reputation, but he is a good guy at heart. He wants to see the people in his life happy. I liked that despite his NY reputation, he doesn't act like some cocky player.
There is a sweetness about this story and the characters in it. Of course it is hot as well! ;) The side characters bring along plenty of laughs. (And if you've read Love & Ink, you will see a couple familiar faces.) It's well written and reads quickly and easily. (Hard to put down.) It alternates between POVs. There are some pretty steamy scenes deeming this a read for the mature folks.

us with each new book. This quality being that when your dive into reading, you are completely satisfied starting from the beginning to the end.
The words that are written show his talent of creating the characters to be life-like and vulnerable to the circumstances that they are fighting for or against.
Wyatt and Melina are great friends in their youth and lose their connection, only to gain in back together as adults still strong as ever. Wyatt has this amazing dedication to get Melina to be the women he knows she can be to gain strength and confidence through her shyness. Wyatt in his youth goes through something that touches a lot of families these days. It affects him on a level that
changes the course of his adult life.
Through the journey these two embark through, the commitment of friendship, and love they have for each other, their determination shines through the words of this story.

An awesome bunch of people, each could have their own story.

JD Hawkins is one of my favorite male authors. He never disappoints with his books. Amazing main characters, awesome supporting characters, love, laughs, some twists and lots of steam. Temptation had it all.
Wyatt and Melina have known each other their whole lives. Their families are friends and Wyatt even dated Melina's older sister, Winnie for a bit in high school. They have always had a connection with each other. Melina has had a crush on Wyatt since she knew what crushes were.
After spending the last few years in NYC, living the high life, Wyatt returns home to California. He's doing a consultancy job at a starter company whos trying to sell a health drink. Melina works as a photographer for the companies social media department. Working together to try to increase sales on the health drink, they spend lots of time together.
Temptation is a brilliant friends to lovers story. Wyatt and Melina are such beautifully written characters. The supported characters are just as amazing. Aiden is the best and so funny. I hope he gets a book in the future. The little glimpses and teases of Hawkin's other work is expertly woven into the story as well.

Wyatt and Melina were the best of friends. They had secret jokes and just really got each other. Then Wyatt had to be the strong one in the family when his family was torn apart. Which led him to have a certain belief about the way love is. Melina is in a family where they don’t quite understand her and not quite as extroverted as everyone else.
Wyatt moved away for a few years and now he’s moved back home. Tired of the way things have been going in New York he is now ready for something real and fulfilling. With him back home Melina and him are closer than they have ever been. With the years away a lot of family drama he left behind comes to light which further complicates whatever is going between him and Melina. Wyatt is a former playboy who wants someone and something real and Melina is just the woman that can give him that. Melina needed someone to encourage her and allow her to shine and Wyatt is just the man that can give her that.

I loved this! Wyatt and Melina are fabulous. She's a photographer working for this ridiculous wanna be healthy drink company. He's been living & working & making the bucks in New York. He doesn't see a happy ever after in his future. They've known each other their whole lives. Their families are close. The two of them have always clicked. Now he's back in sunny California and they not only reconnect as friends but he is consulting at her job. A fantastic friends to lovers book. So many feels. Ohh, and as if a new cast of characters from J.D. isn't enough for you...there may be some familiar faces along the journey to Wyatt & Melina's HEA. I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

This story was sexy and sweet and smart and plain FUN! If you’re wondering why I first reviewed with Well I’ll be damn ... well done. it’s because the last couple of books by this author didn’t hit the spot for me at all but I never gave up … AND I AM SO GLAD I DID NOT!
Friends since childhood, connected by family and friends, Melina and Wyatt made for an easy friends to lovers story. These two were connected on more than just the physical. Since childhood, they were at their most comfortable when it was just the two of them. Both attracted to each other at some level but neither did anything about it …. Until they did :)
Such a feel good story you guys. Even now as I’m typing these few words I’m thinking back to the story and I’m just smiling. They were sooo sexy and so good together. Yes, there’s conflict and a couple of side stories but everything that happened in the story was connected to them in some way. There was no drama for drama … it was really just perfect.

I’m pulling 5 friggin’ stars out of my fanny pack for this book!!
I love the writing styles of JD Hawkins. He makes me fall absolutely head over heals for the guy, the girl and the world that they live in.
I don’t care how far they go back, I’m a sucker for a friends to romance storyline
and this one is a hell of a lollipop!
Sexy and successful Wyatt, returns back home for a chance to further his career, to see his family and maybe...to slow down from the lifestyle he’s been living.
Shy and quiet Melina, is a talented photographer stuck in a job that doesn’t exactly sing her praises. Blamed for any and everything, her future seems bleak in regards to her true passion in life.
Enter Wyatt. The life long friend who has always understood her and acknowledged her talent.
The boy, now man-that Melina has always crushed hard over.
Working together seems complicated but not nearly as tricky as what happens when works not involved.
Wyatt has issues that stem from his past and Melina is plagued with self-doubt but all of that is the perfect recipe for one outstanding, sexy and beyond enjoyable read.
This author gives you a touch of the angst and then brings you back with quotable lines and situations that will leave you swooning.
He is the type that will have you loving his characters and swearing they are your favorite....until he introduces the next set. (Loved seeing some familiar faces in this book by the way!)
It’s a beautiful, delicious cycle that all readers look for in an author and their books....and this one has it!

Another new author for me! I have had some of his previous books on my TBR list and now I really have to catch up!
Temptation is the story of Wyatt and Melina. Childhood friends, girlfriend's little sister. School age unrequited love. It's all that and so much more.
This story starts with chaos, of families intermingling, laughter and love. Sometimes it's just too much for Melina, she longs for the quiet.
Wyatt has always understood this and his uncanny ability to bring Melina out of her shell is beautiful.
I devoured this book overnight, I couldn't put it down. I was charmed, I laughed at the secondary characters and I absolutely swooned over the romance between Wyatt and Melina.
I have a great respect for the male romance author! They are boldly going into a realm that is female driven and can be a bit biased. Which I think is a shame. I loved the alternate POV's in this story with Mr. Hawkins really bring Melina to life in an absolutely perfect way!
Well done Mr. Hawkins, you have yourself another fan! I cannot wait to read what you come out with next and I will be moving your previous books to the front of my TBR list!

Hawkins’ newest contemporary romance leaves you with all the feel goods you’ve come to expect from his excellent writing style and wonderful characters who entice readers to continue turning pages until late in the night.
Returning to California after living in NYC, Wyatt finds himself thrust back into the surroundings of the extended family almost exactly where they all left off. The best thing about his return is finding the one person he truly misses, Melina. As the two embark on a work related project, the fun begins.
You can’t help but love these two and their story and, of course, the sparks between them set the page on fire!

Nothing beats a friends to lovers story and this one is possibly my favorite! Temptation gave me all the gushy feelings only a great story can, with the holy hotness sexy times!
Wyatt isn't your typical rich, arrogant alpha. (Sorry JD, hee-hee). He was a real man with a generous and loving heart, that wasn't all about himself. Being with Melina again was his priority. I loved how he was so into her art and so supporting of her. This kind of relationship is always missed in the stories I've read.
If you are looking for a realistic love story with a great storyline,, read this one. If you've read JD before, you can say hello to few previous book characters. was stoked to see them. The background characters deserve a story. Their friendship is one for the books!

What happens when you get everything you could ever want? Dream job, living the fast life with fast women. I absolutely love J.D.Hawkins style of writing and he's one of my favourite male authors.
He is so good at describing both the male and the female POV.
Temptation is a fantastic 4.5 star book that will really captivate you from the beginning and hold your attention throughout.
Wyatt and Melina are childhood friends and just have that invisible thread pulling them together.
They were made for each other and complement the other.
She's the cute lovable introvert and he's all sweet and sexy with her.

She's the cute lovable introvert and he's all sweet and sexy with her.
This book has some fantastic moments that will have you turning those kindle pages and have you feeling a plethora of emotions.

With every book I read by Mr. Hawkins, I find myself fully immersed in the characters. Wyatt and Melina are no different. Childhood friends that get each other like no others before them, they find themselves in a strange space. Wyatt has come home to LA for a consulting job that just happens to be the same company Melina works for. His first assignment is to fix what she hasn't been able to pull off. Melina is frustrated by her job. She is a talented photographer but hasn't been able to find work doing what she loves. Her job is to market this God awful drink through social media. The boss is a wanna be hippe that couldn't make it in the corporate world. Of all the characters in this book, the boss was the most aggravating. Sorry, I got side tracked.
Their families are all friends with one another. They are all so close that they spend every holiday together. They even have a couple in mind for the future and it isn't Wyatt and Melina. It's Wyatt and Winnie, Melina's older sister. So there is that pressure. Melina is also intimidated by Wyatt's reputation. She feels she's not good enough. Wyatt is disillusioned by marriage and commitment since his parents divorce. They have so many hurdles to overcome that I wasn't sure how they would. I loved these characters and am hoping for more from the rest of these friends.

I always think with an author I love to read; how can they top the previous one, because it was so, so good!
Guess what? JD Hawkins did it again with Temptation. The story of Wyatt and Melina is amazing. This friends to lovers story? Amazing! Once you start reading, you get sucked in and will probably want to punch the person who dared to interrupt your reading. I love Wyatt and I absolutely adore Melina.

With each story, JD’s writing gets better and better. He was already a fantastic writer and story teller, it’s just off the charts now. The descriptions were so realistic and on point, it made me feel like I was actually there. I fell in absolute love with Wyatt 💕 and Melina. So much so that, I devoured this book, and want more. I loved the cameo by Teo and Ash from Love and Ink! It’s great to catch up with them and the Mandala gang.
So are we going to see this turn into a series? I’d love to see Winnie, Cody, Aiden, and Becca’s story.

This is my third book of J.D. Hawkins’ work and honestly I have to say that I am impressed yet again, it takes a lot for me to like some arrogant male leads but for some reason Hawkins just has a way when it comes to writing them. I don’t know what it is, but he just seems to have the talent for it, I found myself falling for the other two male leads in the previous books I’d read of his, but he does know how to write a good story. There was nothing with the plot or characters that I could fault, Hawkins seems to know what his readers want and like and manages to achieve that by creating up the most amazing plots. Each book has been easy to follow and by the end I just wanted more. I can’t wait to see what else he can come up with but if you’ve not read his work I’d strongly suggest picking it up and giving it a try.

An amazing friends to lovers romance! I love the characters. Wyatt and Melina have been friends for their entire lives. Wyatt moves away for awhile for work but when he comes back home to California things heat up. I devoured this book once I started reading. It had me swooning. Hot, sweet and sexy story! I highly recommend this book!

Temptation is a friends to lovers book you need to read. Wyatt and Melina have been friends their whole lives but drifted away from one another when Wyatt moved from California to New York. He returns to the West Coast and they reconnect again while working for the same company. There's back story between them and their extended circle of friends, assumptions made about Wyatt and his New York lifestyle that affect Melina and her trust in Wyatt and it just takes them some time to figure things out and make their way back to one another. This book has some angst but not so much that you want to chuck it across the room in frustration. If you've read J.D. Hawkins' most recent books, you'll get a glimpse of some familiar characters in this one.

My list of favorite male author is quite short, but I’m sure it’s no surprise to anyone that JD Hawkins sits firmly at the very top and has done since he released his first book. He always brings a fresh outlook to each story he writes from the way he shows the dual POV, letting us readers into the hearts and minds of his characters to the hot and sizzling scenes that can always be guaranteed to make your kindle threaten to melt and Temptation is no exception. It’s a brilliant, hot and yes, tempting story that will captivate and hold you from the first page to the last, then you’ll beg for more.
Melina and Wyatt met during this childhood and have been friends ever since but there’s always been that connection between them that was sure to bring them to this place and time. Fabulous friends to lovers story! I'd say this is Mr Hawkins best work yet and I've loved all of his books! The characters were well developed and I easily fell for them right from the start. Wyatt is a big time consultant in New York who decides it's time to move back home to California where he has roots. He had always had special feelings for Melina, a family friend. Little does he realize but she had been crushing on him for years. As the story progresses, Wyatt and Melina end up working together at her dead end job. He's in a difficult position, between Melina and her boss. They have incredible chemistry and find it's impossible to fight. You'll love the steamy scenes that are masterfully written by Mr Hawkins. This book has all the feels, some twists and such wonderful characters you won't soon forget!! Loved it and can't wait for more!!

Temptation came at the perfect time for me. After reading some very heavy, emotional reads this beautiful life long friends to lovers was the perfect balm to my heart.
Ok first things first I LOVED Melina!!! There was just something about this girl that I really got into. I feel the quiet, reserved girl mixed with the tigress in the bedroom really worked so well with this character. It just showed that what you see on the surface is not always the complete person.
Wyatt is back in L.A. because he feels that there is something missing in his life. He needs to slow down and reassess where he wants his life to take him. Melina is working at a job that is nowhere near what she expected to be doing after finishing college but a girl's gotta pay the bills.
What happens when these two are thrust into each others lives on a daily basis, will the teenage draw still be there after so many years apart or are they two changed people destined to remain friends?
These two together were just WOW, EPIC, AMAZING!!!

I really enjoy Jd's writing and it just gets better with each book he writes. I liked how Wyatt and Melina's story played out. I think Temptation is JD's best work so far and that's saying something because his other books are great.

I’ve fallen in love with JD Hawkins’ words before, and I will fall in love with them again. This was a beautiful story of two life-long friends who finally realize they were meant to be together. Hawkins has a way with words, setting the scenes so well it’s like a movie playing out in my mind. I love his characters, I love the setting, I love how he get so deep into the characters that you feel what they are feeling.
Wyatt and Melina were so cute together, so meant to be. You could feel the love they had for each other - as friends - before they ever became an item. That friendship was binding, making every interaction more pure.
The side characters were fantastic. I loved seeing the cameos of some of the characters from Hawkins’ previous books, and I would honestly love to read more about Wyatt and Melina’s friends.

I honestly feel like I can’t articulate it well enough because it doesn’t do the book justice. JD is a master with his words and this story is a testament to that fact. This tale follows two childhood friends who have an unspeakable bond. You ever have someone in your life that just gets you, all of you? That would be Melina and Wyatt.
Their story isn’t average in the boy meets girl way. JD has crafted it to where you see lifelong pals who finally find their way to each other with a few hiccups along that path, because what would be a good romance if there was no drama? Loved all the “Oh My God” moments littered into this book too. For fans of JD’s work, it will make you smile.
And the down and dirty scenes, woo honey! This gem has sparked the need to want to stage a kidnapping of this man. I love his work and need him to produce faster because waiting on greatness is not something I’m fond of, ha! Definitely one to add to the list of MUST-HAVES.
