‘One person on their own may be able to save the world. But a team of friends, all working together, have a much greater chance of succeeding…providing that no-one succumbs to evil.’
I often ask myself why life always picks on me. I mean, come on, surely I deserve a break once in a while? That’s not too much to ask for? Then, I realised that if life didn’t always pick on me, my existence would be pretty boring! After all, who else can say that they have kicked some serious butt and lived to tell the tale?
Once, Alex Raven was an ordinary girl who faced difficult day-to-day challenges. Then, she experienced an 'awakening'. This life-changing event not only led her to be able to do amazing things - things like controlling the element of water, but also allowed her to find friends who accepted her for who she was. However, life wasn’t destined to be that simple for this once ordinary girl. Instead, life had far darker plans! These dark plans led Alex to experience a possession of the evilest kind - a possession that resulted in her soul being SHATTERED from her body, leaving Alex trapped in a limbo land between life and death. Now, relentlessly plagued by evil in all forms, Alex is constantly in fear of what is around the next corner and is uncertain about whom she can trust. To make matters worse, a sinister game is being played. In this game, the stakes, particularly for Alex, are high. In this game, the stake is her soul…
DIVE INTO A WORLD FULL OF FRIENDSHIP, DANGER, LOVE AND BETRAYAL...
How do you fix a shattered soul? The question is not how but can…
Technically, she is an adult. However, Adele likes to think that she is a child who is refusing to grow-up and always loves writing fiction in her “free-time.”
Adele Rose writes books that she loves to read. Bring on fantasy worlds and tyrannical leadership. She's got her frying pan at the ready!
Her interests outside of writing include Music (she sings, plays the flute and attempts to play the piano), watching TV (she has an unhealthy obsession - Die Hard is a Christmas movie!) and exploring nature with her husband and children.
Adele holds her family at the centre of all she does and would love to meet as many readers as possible.

That. Was. Freakin' AWESOME (and beware of spoilers)
So the story started with Alex being trapped in a realm between life and death. She had to find some sort of key to get back to her world.....and to her physical body. With the help of her newfound friends, she set out on this journey. I loved Chris and Luna so much. I love the "strong character" aspect of Luna. I was so sad when
Authors, show some mercy on your characters!
And yes, Blaine. Blaine, Blaine, Blaine. Nobody forgets the guy who stole the show. I am so shocked that I didn't realize.
There's one thing though: when Raphael was grieved seeing Alex dead and Vanessa was criticising her in front of him, he made a comment: "Normally he would never have raised a hand to a female...."
Or something like that. On reading it,I was like:😑😒 c'mon Raphael, if a girl slaps you for nothing and stalks off, are you going to say to yourself that you should not raise a hand against females and just....do NOTHING? Man, it sounds downright sexist! You don't feel we gals are strong enough to compete with you and therefore you might actually HURT us DELICATES by raising a hand, huh?
There's this scene where David remembers his past with Alex and his love for her is finally revealed (I knew that since the first book itself) He speaks about a dance:
"As he noticed her outstretched hand getting towards him by the second, he had taken a step backwards. Her wounded expression had neraly killed him."
David, please, she is just worried about the bruise on your jaw (she is incredibly strong, huh, I like that😁). And Alex, he is naturally disoriented after that painful punch you gave him. But it was an accident and only a punch, so you don't need to behave as if you have stabbed him. Maybe I am looking too much "into" the lines, but I generally don't like exaggeration/overly descriptive writing. It is a flaw that kept me from enjoying certain books.
But even after I sum it all up, the percentage of what I loved is more. So five stars, a big thumbs up and a request to write the next book FAST because I can't live without knowing about the .
