This was so fun!!! I'm a big fan of the Pirates of Caribbean movies so Ebba-Viva Fairisles and her motley crew were such a joy to read. She's such a specific heroine bc she has no interest in love or home or law, she just wants to live the full pirate life of adventure and treasure and if anyone tries to tell her that's not how a lady behaves, she'll punch you in the nose for implying she's a lady bc in her mind, there's three kinds of people in this world: men, women, and pirates. And full stop: she's a pirate.



He was accusing her of being all talk? Did she need to remove her hoop earring?

I'm gonna need more page-time with Jagger 😏 He be circling around Ebba, getting under her skin, and I like that he riles her but she has no idea why she's reacting to him. (It's cause you're attracted to him, dummy!) There's something about that fickle, mysterious pirate and I can't wait to learn more about him. Him and Ebba together are 🔥🔥🔥

Not bad at all. It took a bit to get passed the pirate lingo but as soon as the story picked up I didn't even notice it anymore. I do hope for more character development though, the main character didn't really have a presence. I really like Fantasy of Frost Tatuma , so I hope Ebba has more backbone in the coming books.

⤅ Short answer: I f*cking love this series.

Maybe not this particular instalment; it's packed with humour and action, but not even the slightest bit of romance. Even still, it absolutely hooked me. This is the series I wanted Tricia Levenseller's Daughter of the Pirate King to be.

We have Ebba-Viva Fairisles, who - thank the Lord - is a dark-skinned, dreadlocked pirate girl with bucketloads of sass and vinegar. She's totally opposed to romance, so I do understand why there wasn't any in this instalment. Instead, she and her six fathers (they all adopted her, this isn't a reverse harem setup) all roam the series. Then she encounters Cosmo, the enigmatic servant to the prince, and Jagger, a double-crossing enemy pirate they kidnap for his knowledge of treasure.

I had this down as 3 stars initially but you know what, this is now one of my all-time favourite series, so 4 stars is the least I can do. I'm already looking forward to when I can reread.

Low key disappointed with this one.
I mean don’t get me wrong I enjoyed it but not as much as I was expecting to, which is sad since I absolutely love Kelly St Clare’s books! Still, I’m not giving up on this series, and I’m actually really excited to see how everything will come out to play in the next books! *Hoping for that major character development that I’m 100% sure will happen and will blow me away😂*

Plunder ye'self a treasure and read this book!

What a great book this was! Full of pirate adventures and mythological creatures. Although, Kelly St. Clare dropped the ball on Charybdis.

Excellent storytelling, and a page turner. I can't wait to read more books by Kelly St. Clare.

Ever since I've read Tainted Accords Series, I'm at Kelly's mercy. Her stories blow my mind.
Ebba-Viva Fairisles: Immortal Plunder is a well written pirate adventure. The storyline plunges you into one adventure after another.
I highly recommend this book about a fierce girl who always knows what to say.

This book was absolutely amazing! I didn't expect to love it as much as I did.  I'm sucker for YA fantasy books with pirates and sea adventures, and this book has everything. It is a hidden gem and I'm so glad that it caught on my radar cause I would've definitely missed it.   It had all that piratey feel to it.  The characters, the plot, the adventure, the magic, the world, everything was well written. At first, I had struggled with the writing style because of the pirate accent but eventually it got easier and I started to enjoy it better. Immortal Plunder was my first Kelly St. Clare book and I can safely say that it won’t be my last. I always wanted to read her Darkest drae series and this book has gave me an extra push that I needed. I'll definitely check it out soon.

The story follows a seventeen year old young pirate Ebba Viva who was raised by six overprotective pirate fathers. They own a small ship named Felicity and they plunder Vegetables and Fruits. Unlike other pirates, they're not ruthless and they don't kill people like Malice, the most dangerous pirate crew in Exosian Realm. When Ebba eavesdrop about a hidden treasure  from one of the Malice crew, she gets caught by their ruthless captain Pockmark and she ends up with bruises and battered face. Later Ebba shares the information about the treasure with her six fathers, they want to steal the mysterious treasure for themselves first as a revenge act and get retired from pirating.  Ebba is always excited for an adventure and this search for a hidden treasure leads them to some magical  happenings that was believed to be myth. For their first quest, they kidnap a silver eyed Malice Pirate who gets on Ebba's nerves and later she meets a russet haired and ember eyed landrubber who wants to help them in the quest. On each quest they encounter dangerous magical creatures and with Malice on their tail, their journey becomes quite dangerous and Ebba starts to regret about her decision because she doesn't want to lose any of her fathers.  

Ebba Viva was a strong character with vulnerabilities. She was brave, childish, innocent, wild, and a free spirit. I absolutely adored her character. She refers herself as a pirate but not as a woman or man. She was raised under six overprotective fathers so she was pretty naive about so many things like being a woman. She had a sheltered upbringing and always dependent on her fathers. Despite being a seventeen year old, they still treat her like a little kid calling her little Nymph. I can't wait to see her develop into a strong independent woman. This book has a great father-daughter relationship. It's one of the best parts of this book. I loved all six of Ebba's fathers. Barrels, Peg-leg, Stubby, Grubby, Locks, and Plank. They all have their own unique personality so you wouldn't get confused about who is who. They're hilarious. My favorite was Grubby. He's the youngest and the sweetest. And oh, I almost forgot they also have a mean cat named Pillage. He's one hell of a spiteful cat but I still love him. There's no romance in this book but there are two future love interests for Viva and they're swoon worthy. One was pretty sweet and caring, and the other one was dark and edgy. To not spoil the story for you guys I'm not giving away their names.  

The plot was engaging, fun, and very unique. I was hooked to the story from the start to the end. The pacing was perfect. I loved the sea adventures and the quest for the treasure. The characters made the story even more fun to read. I liked the surprising twists and I never wanted this book to end. I literally flew through the pages. The book was told in third person pov. The author's writing style was pretty good. The pirate accent might seem a bit confusing at the beginning, but you'll get used to it after sometime. The world building was great. I loved the world Kelly has built in this book. It was filled with magic, adventure, and mayhem. There are magical creatures like Syraness, Selkies, beastly lizards etc. I seriously can't wait to get back into this world and discover more of its mysteries.     

Overall, I loved this book! It was a wonderful start to a new YA fantasy series! There is no cliffhanger at the end, but I'm still desperate for the next book. I can already predict that the sequel is going to be even more exciting. I can't wait to read it!

I felt like this was a pretty strong start to the series. Though I really do feel like Ebba, our FMC, is really immature at the start I do see her slowly getting better. The relationship between her and her dads was so fun!

Ebba and her 5 dads are pirates on a small ship the Felicity. Ebba is a super proud character, its almost a fault, but you could tell from the reading she really loves and is passionate about the sea and her life as a pirate. Pirates in her world have been hunted to near extinction by the King. During a dangerous encounter in a dark ally Ebba overhears a plot to get a treasure so big her dads and her could retire from their pirate life. I will say the pirate "talk" does take a minute to fall into here. Despite being a straight gutter snipe Ebba recruits some allies including a dangerous prince's servant (maybe *wink.) An epic journey for treasure begins and Ebba and her family discover all is not as it seems in their world. Long ago myths seem to be coming to life..... or back to life even... and the world may need Ebba's help.

I just know there is some deep backstory here just waiting to happen, we didn't really get much in this first book here, but I really feel some epic sized revelations are coming! Can't wait.

First off....this cover is AWESOME. Love. It.

Next...I read this while waiting for a hurricane to hit and then leave my town (I wasn’t there but my husband was, so saying I was stressed is an understatement**). I *really* needed something to distract me - and God bless Ms. St. Clare because this did the trick!

Ebba-Viva is an intriguing pirate, in a world that brings surprise upon surprise, and PLENTY of mysteries. The dichotomies in this story are ones Ebba-Viva has glibly, purposefully ignored - but her desire for adventure lands her and her 6 fathers in a domino-like series of situations which begin to open the 17 year old’s eyes to the world around her.

This story was fun, funny, action-filled with a hint of romance, and has so much more to give. I am SO happy Ms. St. Clare has the whole series written and ready to go, because I can’t wait for the next one, to keep digging into the mysteries of Ebba-Viva and her fathers.

If you're a fan of Kelly St. Clare, you know all her books contain epic fantasy, strong and good main characters who struggle to defy their moral compasses, and a swoony romance. Immortal Plunder is NOT that at all. So fresh, so fine!

Ebba-Viva (Ebba for short), is everything Ryn, Lina, and Romy are not. She is entirely an anti-hero, a pirate who desperately yearns for bigger plunders, pirate savagery, and mercurial adventure out at sea. With 6 adoptive fathers who prefer the safer life of a pirate, being honest traders with a bit of mischief here or there, she jumps on roping her crew into a revenge venture that turns out to be more than she bargained for. Forced to face truths that she has been running from her whole life, Ebba isn't so sure adventure is all its cracked up to be.

The relationship dynamics in this book are unusual yet endearing. Six pirates took Ebba in as a baby, deciding to co-parent...six ways. As an effect, Ebba grows up extremely spoiled, determined to stay a child forever. She refuses to ask about her origins, and holds by her own law: There are 3 genders: Male, Female, Pirate. I admit this bothered me to no end. How in the cockamamie do you refuse to grow up so much that you refuse to learn about where babies come from!? I mean, dang girl, er pirate.

I think there is only a certain amount of childishness you can make a character without making it seem like the book was made for a 12 year old.I think St. Clare really was pushing towards that edge with Ebba. I have hope, Kelly can turn Ebba into a mature 17 year old yet, but as it stands, she is currently not. For that, I take off, I take of .25 stars

Add 6 overly protective fathers, and this is a recipe for absolutely no romance. You heard me. Immortal Plunder is a book with absolutely NO romance; not even



I mean, she does gain a kidnapped friend (Cosmo) who has potential to be more, but he's more of a background character I desperately wish to know more about. I also think anybody
well versed in St. Clare's other stories, will know Cosmo's true identity within 5 minutes of meeting him, but it'll be extremely entertaining to watch Ebba find out, hopefully in the sequel. She is going to lose it and I can't wait.



One thing that kept pulling me out of the story was the pirate way of speaking. I believe it was overly done to a point where I couldn't really take it seriously. I would have like to see St. Clare take a spin on her version of pirates rather than follow it strictly by the book of how you'd imagine the most stereotypical of pirates to act. Lots " Yer" and "land lubber" and...I honestly just couldn't taken it seriously. The peg leg and eye patch were enough for me. A couple slang words would have been a delightful addition, but every single sentence talked in pirate is why I took off an entire star. Did I get used to it, yes. But not enough to keep my head in the story consistently.

I'm dying to read the next book! I admit, when I saw what direction this book was moving in, I grew a bit skeptical about whether or not I'd actually enjoy it. But, it was well worth the read. I think mature middle-graders would be safe enjoying this book. Of course, adults who love YA and piracy will truly find this a treat as well.

So I’ll admit, this book took me a long time to get into. At first I wasn’t attached to the characters, the story, or the way they talked. The first half was good and enjoyable but nothing really made me feel like I needed to pick it up again. However, a little after the halfway point, I just got submerged into the world and I just started absolutely loving it. I started loving the characters, the story, the world, and the way they talked. I felt like the characters were all my family and I genuinely miss the world and characters now that the story is over. I’m not exactly sure what changed but I’m glad it did. I absolutely cannot wait for the sequel to revisit everything. This book was obviously just opening the door for book two which I can already tell is just going to be amazing and full of tons of surprises.

Once you get past that there is a different language (pirate), that one girl has many fathers and is not a girl, but a pirate, this book gets really interesting! Like in all Kellys books the characters are engaging and have room for growth and transformation. It is a funny book, full of mythical adventures. Sure to have a good chin wiggle with all the other fans! I recommend to give it a try, even if pirates aren't your thing. There is some great underlying themes and it feels like one of those books that will grow with the main character. Looking forward to reading the second!

Ms. St. Clare strikes again! Seriously... is there any sub-genre the woman can't write?! I love pirate stories. I love the adventure, the "gray" heroes/heroines, the life on deck, and the hunts for treasure. So, when Ms. St. Clare announced a book about these things, I was thrilled!

There's so much I appreciate about this story. Firstly, that it's a pirate story, but it stands as its very own version of one. It sails familiar territory, but in a very unfamiliar way, and that was refreshingly unexpected. I loved the strong (female) lead pirate, Ebba, who also never wants you to refer to her as anything but a pirate :D She's strong NOT because the author beat me over the head and told me; she's strong because Ebba SHOWED strength, even in her vulnerabilities in her interactions and devotions to her fathers. Speaking of her fathers, I loved them - all six of them! Such a fun, unique dynamic! Initially, I was a confused on who was who, but St. Clare masterfully gives them nuances and remains consistent, and so I was quickly able to sort them. There's still so much backstory left unexplained, like how their paths crossed Ebba's.. I'm excited to learn more about this with future books. But it was definitely enough to keep me both sated and intrigued. All of the characters are rich and real, and just really well done.

Magic and myth begins to show itself more in the second half of the book, and once those came on scene (and those were some intense scenes!), I found the book REALLY hard to put down.

What a fun and fresh pirate story, and I can't wait to see where Ebba's adventure takes her!

I am writing this review because I genuinely believe that everyone should give this book a chance. It was positively spectacular. Seriously. Read it asap.

Now, I've read a lot of pirate books in my time (because you know... pirates!) to the point where the genre was getting old and predictable. Writers would take the same plot and just switch out locations and characters, polish it up, and serve it to the masses.

With Immortal Plunder, it was like a breath of fresh air! No, literally. Kelly St Clare breathed her crazy, sorcerous magic into this book. Starting with the main character, Ebba-Viva. She is the quintessential opposite of most heroes. Spoiled, impulsive, and most definitely NOT a woman. But her flaws made me love her even more. I can't wait to see how she matures and develops over the series. Then, we have her fathers. Six enablers who spoil her rotten and love doting on her. And then, the love interest (swoon!), and the villain, who is decidedly terrifying.

Add in a hint of magic, a sprinkle of mystique, and a hefty dose of adventure, and voila! Immortal Plunder!

I read this because I love Kelly St Clare and reading anything she writes is a must but wasn’t crazy excited about it being a pirate book. I didn’t think it was going to be a favourite maybe just an enjoyable read.
I was COMPLETELY wrong I LOVED it, I loved Ebba and I’m now a diehard pirate lover!!!

First thing I have to say is it’s so funny. I thought the only author that could make me laugh this much was Ilona Andrews but this was hilarious, I’m still laughing about Ebba losing her beads in the sea.

Can’t wait for the next one, I’m counting the days till it’s due and I’m so glad it’s going to be a seven book series because I already can’t get enough of Pirates of Falicity.

This was so much fun to read! I couldnt put it down.
I love Ebba-viva. She is a pirate girl through and through. Strong, brave, full of adventure and smart! And yet she has a childishness about her that any real teenager would have!
Her fathers are all so diverse, funny, lovable and adore their girl.
I have a lot of theories about the other characters, that I cannot wait to see proven or disproven. 😁
I feel like I could read about these characters forever and I cannot wait for the next instalment!

Everyone wants to be a pirate at some point in their life and why wouldn't you. Adventure, treasure, and magic awaits you in the book. I can also feels some great twist are coming in the series, but I'll keep my theories to my self. Ebba is a spunky pirate to say the least, and ye not be soft. Took me a bit to get use to the pirate talk in my head but then it was smooth sailing. Can't wait to see what awaits the crew of Felicity with all their new discoveries.

I enjoyed reading this fresh perspective on a classic pirate tale. I feel it has a strong beginning on a rich, rich legacy of stories to come. A single determined, driven heroine with a full cast of supportive characters, each with a different, unique perspective. A well written opening salvo, fired in what promises to be a journey of life discoveries, complete with creative world building and character development, I look forward to reading more in the future, thank you Kelly St. Clare.

Absolutely could not get into this novel- like I couldn’t even finish a single chapter. I don’t know what it was- perhaps the way the characters spoke? There was just something weird about the novel that made it hard work to read. Since i read for enjoyment, the speech was a nonstarter. I tried to go back several times and pick it up again, thinking maybe today will be different, but no. So after several months, I’m calling it.

As soon as I heard about this series I was excited to read it. It just sounded so good and that cover only made me more excited for this book, because it's so pretty and it fits the story well too. While I haven't read many books with pirates and don't have much to compare it with, this is exactly what a pirate book should be like in my opinion. It has pirates, action, adventure, treasure, lots of sea, life on a ship and magic.

While the start felt a little bit slow, I quickly got sucked into this story. The set-up is an important part of the story and the story is very solidly build, with hints for later reveals and plot points being planted earlier in the book already. Mostly this book reads like an exciting pirate adventure, with great characters and some fun reveals and twists. There was a twist I was thinking in the right direction for, but hadn't fully guessed what it build be. I also liked how most of the book took place on an around the sea, which fit the pirate theme of the book.

Ebba-Viva was a great main character. She was stubborn, spoiled by her six fathers, a bit naive and could put her head in the sand and avoid topics and questions she didn't want to answer, but overall I still liked her. She was also curious, caring, determined and hungry for adventure. She also felt guilty when her actions bring her fathers in danger and also realizes there are more secrets than she was aware of, even if she isn't willing to uncover them yet. I felt her flaws made her into a more realistic character and I liked reading about her.

Then there are Ebba-Viva's six fathers. At first I really struggled to remember who was who as there are six of them and some of their names are similar. But Kelly St Clare has done a great job of giving all of her fathers their own personality and while I still struggled with Stubby and Grubby sometimes because of their similar names for the most part I could keep them apart and got a pretty good feel for their personalities. And the ship Felicity is almost a character herself as so much of the story takes place aboard the ship.

There is only a little bit of hint at a possible romance, but only a hint as I think that Ebba-Viva isn't ready for a romance yet, so a hint is all it stays at in this book. But definitely the possibility of that growing into something more later in the series. There are two possible love interests and while they both seemed like interesting characters, so far I liked Cosmo the best, but that might be because we get to know him the best.

It also was nicely done how the characters are semi honest pirates, they're mostly traders, but steal some things too. And while at first they don't do as much pirate-y things, but they still give off that pirate vibe. And once they start on their quest, you really get that pirate feel, but they're still decent characters too. It was nice how the author manages to strike a good balance with that. It had a pirate feel, while the crew we follow are still mostly good characters, who don't do a lot of bad stuff.

Another thing I liked about this book is how it gives the feeling that there is so much more below the surface. Not sure if that makes sense, but there are a few things that happened, that only make it clear how little you know about the world and the characters yet. And while there are some things we figure out and get to know in this book, there's this feeling that there will be even more we don't know yet. And I can't wait to uncover that in future books.

The world building was done really well. There are hints of different types of mythologies and mythological creatures that the author took inspiration from and that make an appearance. The world feel pretty unique world and well developed too. There's even a world map at the beginning of the book which helped get a feel for how the world looked like. I really liked how the world slowly unfolded before the reader's eyes with things that got revealed along the way. And while there is a lot we see in this book, it feels like there is even more yet to come! And I can't wait for more adventures with Ebba-Viva and her six fathers.

To summarize: I had a great time with this book and enjoyed spending time aboard Felicity with Ebba-Viva and her six fathers. There is a lot of adventure, a quest for treasure they have to find, magic and more. It took me a few chapters to fully get into the story, but by then I was fully hooked. I liked Ebba-Viva, even with all her flaws as I think she made for a great main character who felt realistic as she had her strengths and weaknesses. I also liked her six fathers, although it took me some time to remember who was who, Kelly St Clare did a great job giving them all an unique personality. There's a hint of a possible romance with potential for that to grow into more in later books. I really liked how there are pieces of information and reveals that are uncovered in this book, but also the promise of even more to come. The world building was done well, with pieces from mythology and what I think is the author's own additions and twists upon them. All in all this was a great read and I can't wait to return to to sail on Felicity again in book 2! I would recommend this to everyone who enjoys a good fantasy or pirate book!

This one just didn't work for me. It wasn't catching my attention, I wasn't a fan of how they spoke and the MC was really immature for 17. I just couldn't get past how they were speaking, it was hard to follow along. The names of the characters also seemed super immature. I just didn't get this one. The cover is stunning and I am so sad it wasn't what I was expecting. Just not for me.

I'm off work for a whole five days and the plan is to lock myself in my room and binge this entire series.

I loved the banter between the pirates of Felicity sm. They just sail around the sea and give each other shit all day long. Our pirate heroine Ebba has a lot of room for growth and I can't wait to witness her flourish over the next six books.

The romance is nowhere to be seen so far but it's supposed to be a slow burn so it's either Cosmo or Jagger. I'm putting my money on Jagger though. I feel like he'll be nasty in a fight and that complements Ebba so well. Couples who fight together, stay together.

I was super excited to be given advanced copy (at no cost to the author) of this book to read, especially since I have read every single thing from Kelly St.Clare. I first stumbled across The Darkest Drae series co-authored with Raye Wagner. If you haven’t read that series...you must, I read each book straight through forgoing sleep and study time. So worth it! From there, I read The Tainted Accords series, same thing, sleep and study time went out the window. And it happened again with The After Trilogy. So of course, I wasn’t going to miss the opportunity to read the newest series. Plus, who doesn’t love pirates?

This book had me smiling from the start, the dialogue between the characters is colorful and it’s just a lot of fun to read pirate!!! I have enjoyed meeting all of the characters and can not wait for the adventure to continue.

I have to say I've liked every Kelly St. Clare book I've read but was a slightly unsure about reading about pirates, it's just not my thing...usually.

I found myself grinning while reading the pirate lingo and happy it didn't distract or become obnoxious, but flowed nicely. As with her other books, I enjoy the writing style and found myself becoming easily ensnared in the story.

And it's a fun story! The lead character is willfully naive and brave. She is so innocent it's enduring. She is right on the cusp of adulthood and i think it will be an entertaining journey to follow, though I see lots of opportunity for growth through hardships and trials ahead. Because she has six fathers (lol, a great twist on the whole reverse harem trend *blah* going on right now) there was a little confusion as to who was who, but it didn't last long since they all have pretty distinct personalities. Throw in a couple of romantic possibilities, a grouchy cat, some magic and an entertaining story unfolds.

This story is a quick, enjoyable read and I'm anticipating the next book.

I mean seriously!?! Pirates? Yes, please!! What a fantastic read! Kelly has this style of writing that just draws you in and keeps you wanting more. This story is simply fantastic! Ebba- Viva, her six fathers, the future love interests... (hoping one of them will win her heart...) and a grumpy cat will be characters you fall in love with immediately. I am looking forward to how her story progresses and watching her grow up, fall in love and all of the in-between. I am more than excited for all the adventures that await!

Wow!! I never really had an interest in books about pirates, but Kelly changed my mind!! This book was absolutely amazing! Ebba and her fathers are hilarious! Ebba is such a strong young pirate, which you will see why when you read the book! If you like adventure, magic, and humor then you will love this book!! I can't wait until book 2!

Adorable, highly entertaining, but occasionally veers into "too young for my tastes" territory. While Ebba and her six fathers are fun to read about, it's a bit hard for me to take Ebba seriously sometimes. Still, I think St. Clare does a solid job with Ebba's character growth and story arc, and the world so far is pretty intriguing.
