After the sudden death of his mother, Niall Gallagher buys a run-down Victorian mansion in the town of Salem, Massachusetts. His first challenge is to find a contractor to start the renovation. Contractor Tobin Woods is just the man for the job. Badly needing to get his life in order, he knows this could be the opportunity of a lifetime if he could sober up enough to make a good impression. When Niall has a life-threatening encounter with angry spirits trying to scare him off the property, he turns to psychic Tennyson Grimm, who reveals the ghosts were victims of the infamous Salem Witch Trials, who are still looking for revenge. Will Tennyson be able to move these vengeful spirits peacefully into the light or will the spell woven between Niall and Tobin be broken forever?

Sick of the slogging rat-race of her 9-5 job, Pandora Pine put pen to paper (literally!) to make her ambition of becoming a romance novelist a reality. She cut her teeth in the dog-eat-dog world of fanfiction, still dreaming of the day when she would be a published author. She lives in Massachusetts with her blabbermouth muse who’ s a fan of middle of the night plot twists.
In her spare time, Pandora fancies herself an amateur nature photographer. She enjoys mucking around in swamps, hiking through the woods and crawling around on her hands and knees in her backyard seeking out the perfect shot. Pandora is a fan of roadside seafood shacks and always thinks Mexican food is a good idea at the time.
Some of Pandora’s favorite things are chocolate, writing longhand with purple pens and handsome men falling in love with each other.

I am in the process of getting all of these dang books read in the correct order... thanks to a friend, it became a whole lot easier from here on out!
Reading shorts from an ongoing series is always fun... getting to meet new characters, getting info on established characters and getting back stories on characters that haven't gotten their story yet... whew, who knew just a few short pages could get so much done! ;p
To be honest, a lot of the romance in this one was either flashback or off the page, but the story came with a wonderful history lesson that some hadn't ever heard and others have probably forgotten over the long years since school... that would be me looking guilty about the forgetting. *hangs head in shame*
Even though Niall and Tobin kinda took a back seat to the house's history and the events that took place there, they were still quite perfect for each other! Niall had always had his mom to be there for him and when he lost her he was alone in a way he had never been before and Tobin? He didn't know what he was looking for or even that he was looking, but he needed someone to need him and Niall was just that man... that is, if he can keep from being killed long enough to get the kinks worked out of their relationship... or get the kinks figured out in their relationship... well, I know there are some kinks in there somewhere! LOL!!!

Niall was lost. When he lost his mother, everything went out of him. Given the opportunity to see his mother's life through her eyes, a life he knew nothing about, it all led him back to Salem, and something he would not have believed in had he not seen it with his own eyes.
Tobin was a man his brother wished he could change. His bedroom was a revolving door after the way his love life ended. But one meeting with the newest Salem member had him doing a complete 180. But how can he protect the man he was growing to care for when there were dark forces that were trying to keep him out?
Pandora Pine is back, and giving us a taste of what happens when the barrier of love is crossed with magic. Welcome to Salem and the Cold Case Psychics/West Side Magick family. No matter what you think, family is more than blood. If you want more of these guys, one-click over to the prologue that started it all, Vision Of Love (Cold Case Psychic Book 0.5) and catch up with these guys.
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
This was a great addition to the Cold Case Psychic universe. Niall moves to Massachusetts to get a new start on life after his mother passes away. Tobin has been in a bad place for years, but meeting Niall all of a sudden makes everything click for him and he sees happiness and a future again. This had a very quick insta-love, but it was clear their souls were destined to find each other. It was great seeing the other characters in the book as well. He only thing I wish we had a little more of was Niall finding out info about or meeting his mothers family. That would’ve been cool.
How to bring a tragic series of events in history to a gentle a love filled redemption of grace and mix in a generous splatter of hot and sexy dominance and submission. This riveting tale bring out a little more of the history behind our mysterious and totally annoying, addictive, hilarious PI Jude Byrne from the main series of Cold Case Psychic novels. Spellbound introduces the hot hunk of Tobin and Niall as they try to get the Black Cat inn up and running only to be thwarted by a mysterious group of women hell bent on stopping them no matter what it takes.
So far I loved, Book 1 in the series "A Cold Case Psychic", and this Spin-Off, book #2 was really great. So it looks to be another great series, but first I have to continue on with "Cold Case Psychic".
I've always been intrigued by the Salem witch trials. How people could be so influenced by superstition and fear was amazing and frightening. That so many people were put to death because of that fear was sad. So when Niall found himself looking for a place to set up a B&B and went back to his mother's roots, Salem, I knew this would be interesting.
I wonder what I would do if I put all of my money into a dream that turned out to be haunted. Would I try to re-sell the house and accept the loss or would I dig in and fight? Niall dug in and found that others wanted to help him in his endeavor. The love interest between Niall and Tobin accelerated as they worked together to find a way for Niall's dream to be manifested.
That Niall found people who could help him rid the B&B of it's none human forms is equally interesting. When Tennyson and his partner stepped in to help, I found myself checking out other Pandora Pine stories. Turns out they are integral to the Cold Case series, which I had not read before this book.
Until recently, I've not read much in the paranormal or urban genres. My enjoyment of A Ferry Of Bones and Gold by Hailey Turner had me wondering if I'd like to delve further into the sub-genre. I do and I will. Now, after reading Spellbound by Pandora Pine, I will be reading more of the series and seeking out other books within this, new to me, sub-genre.
Spellbound was well written and did a good job of interweaving mystery and budding love. Pine did a good job keeping my interest in this easy to read novella. She further, pulled me into her other books and that is hard to do.
I *really* liked this spin-off book. It’s a CCP case from the point of view of the clients. The two MCs are adorable together. After his mother unexpectedly passes away, Niall inherits enough money to start his life over across the country in Salem Mass. Wanting to put his degree in Hotel Management and Hospitality to use, he buys an old Victorian house on Witch Hill Road. He hires Tobin, who desperately needs to turn his life around, as his general contractor. It doesn’t hurt that Tobin is built like a god and is as sweet as can be. Little does they know that the house is haunted by both benign and malevolent spirits of “witches” that were killed during the Salem witch trials. Tobin & Niall bond after Nial is attached by the bad spirits. It’s up to Tennyson & his crew to rid the house of the ghosts. We also find out a little more information about the mysterious, unreadable Jude Byrne. The book has a nice feel of Salem’s history and reveals more than I knew about the Salem Witch Trials. The MCs are absolutely adorable together and I look forward to spending more time with them in the next book: DEAD OF NIGHT [CCP 08]
I *so* wanted to love this one, and it started off really promising, but it ultimately didn't work for me.
This was a bit longer than most of the other shorts, and plot-wise, it defintiely felt more developed. Unfortunately, the relationship aspect was not great. It started off wonderfully, but then, instead of just letting the story be about two blokes who just met, have insane chemsitry, and decide to date and have sex, the author thinks that what we really need is for them both to declare their love for one another, despite the fact that they've known each other for two weeks. It was insta-love at it's worst, TBH, and was SO unnecessary! You can have a HEA without marriage and being in love! The promise that they're dating and will fall in love after, you know, knowing each other longer than two weeks, is enough to satisfy readers. So instead of an enjoyable read, I was WTFing so hard and the random love confessions that I couldn't take the rest of the book seriously.
I'm loving these spin off books from the Cold Case Psychic series. We get to meet even more great characters and more of Salem. This story gives us a little of everything with romance, history, mystery and character growth. Though the romance happens at lightening speed for Niall and Tobin, it takes a while to start and is definitely helped along by the story. The two men each have their own recent personal history affecting them but an obvious attraction jumps off the page and it's easy to be caught in the romance. But Pandora is fantastic at keeping our attention with the mystery plot as well as the character development. I'm finding what is included in her stories just as good as all of the other parts, all working seamlessly together to give us a great story that you can't help but enjoy. This could be read as a stand alone but I'd highly recommend reading the series as it gives you insight into the setting and relevance of Tennyson and Ronan for when the pop in to the story. I received an ARC and am happily giving a review
Shocked by a sizable inheritance from his recently deceased mother, Niall Gallagher has a chance to recreate his life to follow his heart. His heart leads him to his roots in Salem, Massachusetts where he meets Tobin Woods, the man that might just be his future. But only if they can figure out why there are spirits threatening and hurting him in order to keep him away from The Black Cat Inn.
Tobin definitely didn't have his life together. Niall's opportunity gives him a second chance and I like that he made the most of it. I think their relationship moved incredibly fast and their declarations came way too soon. I liked their dynamic between sweet and sexy, especially Niall's concussion-confessions which made him way cute. Their overall story felt a bit disjointed and too hurried without proper depth and growth of a budding relationship. Despite that, their story was pretty good and with all the action and supernatural elements we come to expect from the Cold Case Psychic stories and crew.
This is a "tween" book. One that comes as a spin off and is just as interesting as the main series about Ronan and Ten. It was really good and touches even more on the paranormal as witches are reintroduced and magic is touched upon. Jude is again in the story and confusing and aggravating his friends just as much. Niall is recovering from his mother's death and moves to Salem, MA and plans on making a victorian house a B&B. Niall is pulled to Tobin a contractor who wants to keep the good bones of the house and because his good looking. Ghosts of the past cause trouble and injury and that is when Ten and Ronan and friends get involved. Excellent book with angst, violence, a touch of magic, love, hot sex and a effort to free the spirits of the witches that have been held to this property for centuries. Excellent book
Niall Gallagher buys a run-down Victorian mansion on Witch Hill road in Salem with his inheritance from his newly deceased Mother. Enter Tobin Woods who with his passion for the project along with his ripped body wins the contract to bring the old girl back to life.
Unfortunately not everyone is happy that he is there. After a life-threatening encounter with the good women of the Salem Witch Trials he needs help.
Help comes in the form of Tobin's friend Tennyson Grimm and his merry men. If Ten can't persuade the vengeful spirits to go into the light, Niall and Tobin can kiss forever goodbye.
I loved this Free Kindle Unlimited Cold Case Psychic spin-off and without going into details, the reader learns something very interesting about mouthy P. I. Jude.
Intriguing and fun journey that leads to love and happiness. The story-line was engaging and the characters were interesting and lovable.i laughed and i cried as i enjoyed this story. Niall and Tobin are adorable together. i so enjoyed their dialogues!
I enjoyed the story of the spirits and their connection to the Salem Towne. Heartbreaking details that truly make you question 'humanity' and the extremes that some people are willing to inflict on others.
i loved seeing Ten and Ronan. Jude offered some additional insight into his character and we met some new characters. Such a delightful mix of characters and possibilities!
Looking forward to more of this Cold Case Psychic Spin off series!
4.5 Stars! Wonderful! This story pulled me in right from the start and didn’t let me go until the very satisfying ending. Niall and Tobin were so lost and aimless in their lives until the instant attraction when the first met. These two really were great together and while I liked Niall, I really liked Tobin. I imagined him as one gentle giant and sweetheart. Throughout the story, I was waiting to find out how Niall’s cat, Midnight, fit into the story; was he a familiar or something? But nothing ever came of it. This is the first one I’ve read in the Cold Case series and it’s spin offs. I felt it was very well written and flowed nicely. I enjoyed this so much that I’ll be adding the others to my planned reading list.
What I Think: This tale starts with sadness then takes off with a bang and fireworks. Its pure destiny in the making as the decision Niall makes to change his life brings him in collusion with the life of the one man who desperately needs it and love grabs them both, holding them? Yeah, you know it, Spellbound. Ha, I couldn’t resist! There is a huge problem here though: Madame Pandora, Why, oh, why was the chaining mentioned in passing? I want that scene so please, please, gimme? But when the past collides with the present, will they be left standing or joining the spirits?
Time of Day to Read: That slow time between breakfast and lunch on the weekend because you will need to finish it!
Niall moves to Salem, MA after the death of his mother to start a new chapter in his life and open a new Bed and Breakfast. Contractor Tobin wants to be the man to fix up the old property... and the man to take Naill to bed. But first, they really do need to figure out how to get rid of the danger awaiting them... the dead witches haunting the property.
Such a good story. Well written, funny, sweet, sexy... with a touch of paranormal and a dose of drama. I love these characters and supporting characters we know and love from the Cold Case Psychic series. I need more of these books! Definitely recommend. Definitely
This is the 2nd book in the cold case psychic spin off series. I'm told it is read best after dead in the water in the regular series.
In this book, we neet Niall who buys an Inn in Salem, MA and hires a hot contractor to fix it up. After spooky things happen around the Inn they bring in Tenn to save the day!
This was a crazy story with lots of action. I would classify this story as close to instalove as the MCs got together very early which isn't always appreciated but it is a short story so I can forgive this.
In this spin off novella we meet Niall and Tobin. Niall has brought a house on Witch hill with the intention of turning it into a bed and breakfast, his contractor Tobin is working for him on restoring the house to its former glory, Niall comes in to contact with some angry spirits, some of the women killed during the witch trials who are not happy that he is there. The guys from CCP help out. This enjoyable read is a good, enriching addition to the Cold Case Psychic world.
I really liked this one. This is the story on Niall and Tobin. Niall buys the Witch Hill House and he hires Tobin to restore it so he can turn it into a bed and breakfast. But the spirits of witches killed during the Salem with trials have other plans. This is definitely the story that precedes Dead of Night in the Cold Case series. Ronan and Tenn are very involved, and Niall and Tobin are fun, and engaging. Dealing with spirits who hold a lot of anger and vengeance makes things really interesting.
Loved this side road from the main series. Niall is such a brave man for moving to Salem after the death of his mother, away from friends and everything familiar. Tobin, such a hunky man, has been lost for the pass 10 years. His brother has always stood by his side, loving him for the man hidden inside his heartbreak.
This is a fun romp with ghosts and witches, and Ten and Ronan jump in to help. Another great story from Pandora Pine!
Love MCs, the premise and setting. Not a fan of the major insta-love that happened. Declarations of love AND a marriage proposal in just ten weeks from meeting each other? Uhmm no. I know those things do happen (believe me, i know 😘) but the progression of their relationship was the definition of whirlwind and the I love you’s came out of nowhere. I do wish this was a full length novel because I really liked the story and it would’ve given Niall and Tobin’s romance more justice.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
The story of Niall and Tobin. Niall comes to Salem after he finds out that his recently deceased mom was from there. He buys a house which he plans to make into a b&b and hires Tobin to make the renovations. They are haunted by a group of women killed during the Salem witch trials. Enter Ten and the gang, An enjoyable read. I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 because I would have liked a fill length novel instead of a novella.
I love these little spin off stories. This one gives us a little insight as well into the gang we all have come to love. The author has done an amazing job of giving us so much while still keeping to the time frame of the original series. And, in the plus side, no guns were around lol. Seeing need a couple of the guys sporting new holes.
Some insta-love happenin’ here, so if you don’t mind that, you’re good to go. Tobin left me lukewarm, Niall was a touch too steamrolled by Tobin’s overprotectiveness. Heartbreaking story from one of the ghosts in the house. And the witches are introduced! And another piece or two of the Luke puzzle. Have fun reading!
Spellbound was brilliant, hot and emotional - I was in bits by the end!! I confess I don't know too much about the Salem Witch Trials, but this book has definitely made me want to read up on the subject. I honestly think Spellbound could have done with being longer - I'd happily read an expanded version!
*WARNING* intended for mature audiences I am so glad I started the spin off novellas! I have read all of the Cold Case Psychic series and there where parts missing. Like it would reference these characters and the thing at the inn, but never told the full story. I finally got the full story! I'll be reading the rest for these novellas to fill in the blanks.
I absolutely love Pandora Pine's books and can't get enough of 'A Cold Case Psychic' series. This novella is a great spin off and I hope we hear more from Niall and Tobin in the future.
Great story weaving in historical injustice, the supernatural, humour, redemption, burgeoning love, established love. How one man can be another mans salvation from a selfless life. So much. First from this author and not the last. Want to get to know more about the great couples in This series.
Have your tissues ready for this moving story. Two men fall in love, friends ride to the rescue, secrets from the past are revealed, and a baby is born. Now doesn't that sound like a good way to spend the night!
