“The human capacity for survival and renewal is awesome.”
What doesn’t kill you…will kill you later.
Randall and his family’s search for safety is far from over. As their groups grows tensions rise and Randall finds that it’s not only mother nature he has to worry about.
Four different stories, one terrible event...this is the Deconstruction Series
The date was October 31, 1979. The air was cool and a light fog blew in from the gulf, cloaking the Tampa area in an ominous, tight-fitting tunic. The annual Halloween festivities had just begun and a night of mischievous tomfoolery was afoot.
Scandalous and nefarious characters took flight. Doorbells were rung and ill-boding tricks were played regardless of the treats given. This was the dark reality of the bustling Florida metropolitan.
To the north, Grateful Dead crooned the night's theme music at the Nassau Coliseum. Within earshot of the concert, witnesses stated a UFO hovered over the grounds for thirty minutes before vanishing.
At the same time the Cromarty's were busy hosting their notorious Halloween party at 112 Ocean Ave., better known as the Amityville Horror House. Screams and cries for help were reported throughout the night, punctuated with the disappearance of the family next door. They were never heard from again.
Unknowingly altering the course of history, Kurt Vonnegut released "Jailbird" the same week KISS gained infamy on The Tomorrow Show. The aftermath of this collision would not be felt for decades until the emergence of Justin Bieber.
After a night filled with mayhem and destruction and the deaths of several prominent entertainers, politicians and a notorious bank robber, the Federal government was forced to loan $1.5 billion dollars to Chrysler. This spurred a series of violent protests, resulting in the Brunah Agate oil spill. Over 10.7 million gallons of oil were dumped into the Galveston Bay. This became the worst oil spill disaster in U.S. history.
A few hours later on November 1, 1979, Rashad Freeman was born. Feel free to draw your own conclusions.
“Survivors” the fifth book in the “Deconstruction” series gathers together the characters from the first four stories in a struggle for survival that begins after the Mayflower has left for Mars abandoning any survivors to a government mountain fortress as Mother Nature unleashes its fury on Earth.
With Russians attacking military bases, and a mole in their midst the action ratchets higher when a death in the stronghold leads MJ and her team as well as Alastair, Trevor, Daniel and Chase going after the escaping traitor only to face a skilled killer and the elements.
Intensity and suspense escalate as Major Craig struggles with his conscience when the teams don’t return and the weather worsens, wanting to batten down the fortress where the survivors hope to survive Earth’s fury. Fast-paced as the tension mounts, the story flows quickly and smoothly to an ending that begs for a sixth book.
Bringing the story to life are compelling and realistic characters like Randall an observant and loving father; his resilient son Alastair; skilled tracker and self-sacrificing Chase; and the tough, resourceful MJ. These personalities as well as a host of others infuse the plot with excitement, passion and depth. The only criticism I had was with the Daniel character whose strength and leadership traits disappeared in a traumatic turnaround that had him relying heavily on his fifteen-year-old brother Trevor for support.
I enjoyed “Survivors” part of a series that has gotten more involved and exciting with each new story and I look forward to the conclusion.
Implosion is imminent but the plan aren’t working out....
Nearing the culmination of their plans another major wrench is thrown into the works and then the whole damned tool box is chucked in ! The characters from the previous books are coming together from various directions and these characters, already well developed, have one common goal. Survival. The tension ratchets up even more and most have exceeded their own limits but continue on just the same as Mother Nature is out of control and seething. An awe inspiring book that you won’t be able to put down. Memorable and I’m sure many will enjoy reading this book ( & series) over and over again !
I was kind of hesitant to give this book a 5 star rating. I marked 40 errors of some kind or another in the book. That's a lot of hesitation in reading, trying to figure out what he's saying. But, I did still give it the 5 stars because, despite the lack of proper editing (or even editing at all???), the story line is magnificent. The characters all have strong personalities. I will be sad after I read the next book, because that is supposed to be the end.
An RF. SYFY. Novel (DB. - 5)/Florida/Colorado/Mayflower
RF. has. penned a SYFY. novel about the rescue of children off of a cruise ship and transporting them to the Mayflower. Unfortunately, there are spies amongst them that are trying to find that location to take over the spaceship. The Story Line is a constant one of people trying to survive a natural weather phenomenon. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS
I enjoyed this series very much, with it's realistic characters and fast paced action. Can hardly wait to read the final book in the series. The down side in my opinion, was way too many analogies, to the point that they became tedious and distracting. But, don't let that stop you, you might enjoy them....
Plans slowly unravel on the journey to a "safe" destination. One thing after another happens to derail travel. Interim stops are under attack or gone. A traitor among them is almost the last straw. Finger nail biting action from nature and the humans involved. Good thing for me the next book in the series is already published. A wait might have killed me!
Good story but it just keeps dragging on. Still needs better editing. I’ll finish the next book just because I’ve already invested so much time to the story I want to know how it ends.
Wonderful Series! Except I can't find Never Tomorrow anywhere so I can finish. I hope someone can let me know how to get. Love these characters and storyline. Hopefully, will be able to finish this book eventually.
This book is full of suspense and intrigue with a fast pace that is sure to keep you guessing as the plot twists and turns. Intriguing and suspenseful reading.
Very exciting with all the action but...Not happy with (spoiler alert)with the death of certain characters I liked. Hopefully in the conclusion no-one dies
