About Someone New:

Shelby Caine is the black sheep of the family. Sure, she might be in the tabloids a few too many times, but being a rockstar on her own in L.A. isn’t nearly as difficult as navigating the family dynamics during her brother’s wedding weekend. She promises her mom she’ll be the perfect bridesmaid and stay out of trouble. And she manages it for an entire morning—until she sets eyes on the Farm Boy next door, who just might be the perfect wedding date.

Matt Kincaid never wanted to be a rancher. He’s stuck in a life he didn’t ask for and needs a way out—and when Shelby walks into his life she provides the drama he needs to make a change. As long as he pretends he has no idea who she is.

But when the charade falls apart, will Shelby and Matt lose the chance to fall in love with Someone New?

Jilted in Sawyer Creek: Four couples. One crazy wedding weekend.

Lacy Williams wishes her writing career was more like what you see on Hallmark movies: dreamy brainstorming from a French chateau or a few minutes at the computer in a million-dollar New York City penthouse. In reality, she’s up before the sun, putting words on the page before her kids wake up for the day. Those early-morning and late-night writing sessions add up, and Lacy has published fifty books in almost a decade, first with a big five publisher and then as an indie author. When she needs to refill the well, you can find Lacy birdwatching, gardening, biking with the kiddos, or walking the dog. Well developed for a short. Clean content with a non- manho H. I liked the time gap before the resolution. It made sense. Onto the next one!

What a sweet, fun story! There were lots of emotions packed into this little novella. Both characters struggled with bouts of insecurity that were related to their own life circumstances. It is a nice addition to this novella series.

The story was okay and I liked the characters but it was just missing something.
Shelby is a singer star but has had some trouble in her personal life. Matt is frustrated with his mother and her broken promises. Can the two find something special with each other?

It feels true to my soul.

This is the second novella in the “Jilted in Sawyer Creek” series. I had given 4 stars to Book #1 (Someone Old) because it was too angsty and sad for me. On the other hand, “Someone New” receives my full 5 stars because it is absolutely wonderful. From the first page, the characters spoke to my heart and soul. This short romance feels completely authentic to me. Shelby and Matt each have their flaws to which I can relate. I love how they met; it seems so plausible to me, who grew up in the country on a farm. The novella also gives a real feeling of small town life and the attitudes of the inhabitants. It is also cool that Shelbie is an infamous pop star/songwriter. I adore this romance story. I love how Shelby and Matt interact with each other and really connect on their first date.

It can be read as a standalone. This novella can be classified as contemporary small town romance, clean/sweet romance (just kissing), and Christian romance. I am not religious, and the mentions of Christianity and faith were not too heavy-handed for me. The authors use a light touch describing the main characters' faith and prayers. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a high quality, short, sweet, contemporary romance.

I received a free advanced reading copy from one of the authors, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

SOMEONE NEW by Lacy Williams
You fall in love with Shelby who is on hiatus, from dating.. Now face with her brother’s wedding, only to be asked no drama on that day, by her Mother. The B & B grounds, the untamed woods, and now lost. A ranch and meeting Matt, who offered to take her back. Would he see her as someone to date, being aware there maybe the poparize around, because of her career, if they did. A beautiful story of choices, with dates be like a walk on the beach. Woukd he choose LA when he finished school, and to be there for her personally. A delight to meet these characters, and the series. Given Arc for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

I purchased a copy of the clean novella Someone New: Jilted in Sawyer Creek: Shelby and Matt by Lacy Williams and this review was given freely.
This novella expands on the Caine siblings rocky romances and starts at the time of the almost wedding in Sawyer Creek but extends approximately four years with a happy ending. Trying to recover from bad choices and bad press, LA pop star Shelby returns to Texas for her brother Nicholas's wedding but the stress of her judgmental family results in a walk where she meets the frustrated Matt Kincaid who has been the unpaid ranch hand for his mother's Double S Ranch. Contains the negative undertone of parental manipulation.

I enjoyed reading Someone New. This story is the second novella in the Sawyer Creek series. The main character Shelby was introduced in the first book Someone Old. I loved getting a chance to read her story and still having other characters from the first book in this story as well. It's easy to fall in love with the characters. Their situations in life are very believable. This story has topics about fame, mistakes, regret, loneliness, love, manipulation and second chances. I'm excited to read the next book in the series Someone Borrowed. I would recommend this novella.

I borrowed Someone New: Sawyer Creek ~ Hometown Sweethearts ~ Book 16 from the Kindle Unlimited Lending Program.

Shelby Caine, pop singer and song writer is home in Sawyer Creek for her brothers wedding when she meet Matt Kincaid, a local farmer working on his mother's ranch. Although their time together is short, the connection is deep along with a giant misunderstanding.

Matt makes changes, starts to work toward his dreams and has the help and support of Shelby's brother along the way. I loved the happy ending and how it tied back to the fishing on their first date ~ so romantic.

Loved Shelby and Matt!!! She isn’t who everyone thinks she is. He lets her just be her. These two have some drama in their individual lives but when together they bring each other live and acceptance. I really liked book 1 but this one I loved. His mom was a piece of work and her brother needed to forgive her. The angst was well angst. Great ending.

Shelby and Matt met on a day when they were both frustrated with their families. They are working hard, but their families don't seem to notice. They each provide the other with a little spark of hope, though.

I liked the story. It was short and sweet with likable, relatable characters and an interesting plot.

ok read.

I’m glad Matt had the courage to make a life for himself away from his manipulative mother. I can’t wrap my mind around the whole pop star farm boy relationship.

Unpredictable

This was a cute story that I wasn't sure where it was going at first. I enjoyed the unpredictability of it.
