4.5 Picked up where part 1 left off & good continuation of series. Yvonne's strength and good will was seen throughout as she worked with the girls. Storyline kept me reading to see if the Rios cartel would fulfill their promise & how the story would end.
I LOVED HOW YVONNE NEVER GAVE UP SHE FOUGHT FOR THE CAUSE 5TO THE VERY END... I LOVEEEEEEEE NASIR HE CAME THRU & DID EVERYTHING A GROWN MAN WILL HIS LOVE GAVE HER A PERMANENT SMILE...
The story line didn’t follow what happened in part 1 so it was hard to stay interested
There were many typos and it just didn’t fit what happened in part one. In part one, Sophia dies and the mother almost loses her life too. She was in the hospital for months, and had a hysterectomy. She was too old to have more kids, and besides, never wanted to have more because she would never replace Sophia.
During the final interview, with the news station BCD, the interviewers name was Cynthia (I think) but then it called her Maria (who is the woman that interviewed her the first time from a different news network).
The story has potential to be really good. Plots weren’t developed with enough detail. Transitions weren’t smooth, and the errors truly made it hard to enjoy.
What happened to her ex husband, Sophia’s dad? What happened to Sophia’s best friend who had become like a daughter to her? The characters weren’t developed. They were mentioned in part one and played no part in part 2 at all.
This story spoke volumes about what is really happening in our world today!! I am going to find the actual books and share with my teenage nieces, whom I try to express the dangers of growing up too fast. This story brought out every fear I have of them looking for Love in all the wrong places and these grown men taking advantage and grooming this girls for their sick pleasure or to profit off of via prostitution or trafficking. Thank you, for bringing this terrible reality to light.
Yvonne was a God gifted person that did all she could for these children. She was a friend and a loving person. She kept them safe but sometimes it got harder and harder to protect them. Overall, this was a beautiful woman that care so hard that would have have up her like for the ones she loved. It a sad situation, but I knew it was going to end soon because the cartel would not give but she kept on fighting. She was an Angel that touches everybody heart. Much love goes out to the author for doing a great job of writing the book!!!
This follow-up story revealed the resilience of Sophia's mother, Yvonne, after her daughter's tragic death at the hands of the man who preyed on her innocence. Several adverse situations arose while Yvonne fought tirelessly to help other young girls to not face a fate similar to her daughter's.
Of course, the group that Sophia's killer was a member of wasn't going away without a fight, and regardless of how many lives had to be taken in the process.
Unfortunately, for the cause of honoring and avenging her daughter's death, Yvonne was more than willing to pay the ultimate price.
Good book however I would be nice to read a book from this author with a good ending. It’s bad enough that this author writes heartbreaking stories but damn can at least one have a happy ending? After the bad ending with Yvonne in the first book, I just knew she would things would end in her favor in part 2 again I was wrong. It’s depressing. That’s why I gave this book 4 stars.
Wow I really didn't expect that ending. I was hoping they caught the cartel members responsible, but it was a cartel, so how could you catch them all. I was so hurt with that ending. I guess you can't always get a happy ending. This was a little different from Shameek's really scary stuff. I did put it down after reading the beginning, as usual cause I was scared of what was to come , in the end it was awesome.
After Sophia’s death Yvonne did not believe she. Outdoor live;however, between Detective Grimes, her sister Chrissy and the young ladies that keep asking her for help she slowly starts coming around to live again. The Rios Cartel will stop at nothing to kill her. With the police force behind her her Yvonne goes hard and pokes the bear now can her husband Detective Grimes save her as the cartel moves in closer to send her to Sophia. Great read!!
I am a avid reader and when I say this book touch my soul... It did that and more!!! This is a book that I highly recommend to anyone that is a reader. But the truth is this is happening in our society. So many kids are missing without any clues to where they are at. This is a fictional book but the storylines is so true!!! Shameek Speight I congratulated you on a job well done!!!!
I suppose it was okay just some grammatical errors that annoy me and a few discrepancies you can't have a hysterectomy and be pregnant like which one is it? Didn't the mom die in the first one...or maybe it was more so implied either way it's pretty good I think fine tuning it would of been alot better. I hate leaving series unfinished and since I'm just about done with the third one I'll be back with the review of 3. So far its decent just the typos!
Wow, Yvonne fought the good fight longer than most, found love and gifted joy to all those she touched. I enjoyed this series in spite of the sad ending. Child/ sex trafficking is such a toxic epidemic that the ending is befitting as true to life, there is no happy ending. Thank you for sharing Shameek. Great book!!!!
A mother will not stop. With all that was going on she was determined to keep going. Social media is a mess. Parents have to be harder than ever on their kids. They may not like it now, but it will allow them to grow up. Tell your fAmily you love them every chance u get.
The storyline was pretty good but too many errors. The names were mixed around, confusion was too much. The hysterectomy, then getting pregnant was never explained. I see the idea behind everything but a proofreader is definitely needed. Nasir was a great character and Yvonne had a strong heart but it was simply too much going on.
Although the stories were very captivating, I was a little out off by the storyline not being consistent with the first book. In the first book, Yvonne had to undergo a hysterectomy due to injuries ahe sustained in the center shooting. How then in the second book did she become pregnant?
This story was good. Subject was interesting. The ending was a bit sad. I was hoping for a different ending. I'm starting to really enjoy this author. His writing style and subject in my opinion keeps the pages turning. I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next.
I loved the book, I just hated the ending. I wish there could have been another ending? I hope this continues with the detective bringing the Rios Cartel down. Please don't let this book and like this.
I honestly thought it would end differently. After all the mess and drama she got her ending with peace but not the way I saw it happening. Still a good one though.
Wwwoooww, I love Narsir in this book. When Miss Yvonne wanted to find out how the case was going she didn't give up. It's Narsir who give her strength to move forward. If I could rate this series 100% I would
This was an amazing short series. Yvonne is definitely the definition of a strong black woman she fought for her daughter girls and her life. Stand up for wht u believe in or stand for nothing at a!!.....
I’m so mad at the ending and that the story ended after 2 books, but it was so relatable to today’s issue with sex trafficking and victims of social media. We need more centers for young girls to come to when their families are nonexistent.
Both books was really good and had me hooked from the start. I didn't like the way the Author ended the book though. And this Author definitely needs to get an Editor because there was so much miss spelled words it was driving me crazy.
Although Yvonne didn't need to be the subject of the 2nd book, it's good to know that she was healing and helping. To the author don't forget your facts from earlier. You can't get pregnant after a hysterectomy. Hmmmm
Wen I first saw the title I was like this book some bs but once I got to reading from the first one til the last chapter of the second it was never a dull moment Shows a mother’s strength and what us as women would go they for our kids a must read book
😱😱😱😱. Wow this series is something ELSE... I know that this has a lot of truth too it. What a beautiful strong mother. She made a difference but I'm so sad😢.. The end was not something I expected. Great job
