The Rules of the Baby Maker's Club are Never ask him who he is. Never meet outside the club. Never fall in love. I've always wanted to be a mother. But to have a baby you need a man... or money for a proper donor. Let's just say dating is my weak point. And money? It's in short supply. When a co-worker catches me googling cute baby photos, she whispers a The Baby Maker's Club. That's how I was introduced to my nameless, well-hung hero. His job was to knock me up. No dates, no drama, just me and him and the horizontal tango. But I messed up bad. I found out his name. Then I googled him. Now, I wish I could forget the truth I learned about my personal baby-maker, but I can't. I might have broken the first two rules of the club, but someone like him—a walking Adonis with a devil's smile and a dark secret—he did something way worse. He made me fall in love.
4+ stars for the smut, it was delicious, sexy and very HOT. 3.5 stars for the story, more fantasy than reality but I definitely enjoyed it. It was however I need to point out, a really quick read even for a novella. I finished this so fast and would really have liked more. I am not sure how many pages there are but it has taken me a lot longer to read many magazines in the past with a cup of tea. Overall, this was a pretty fun and enjoyable erotic romance such as I would expect from Penny Wylder. ARC received from author in exchange for an honest review.
1.5 Stars MAJOR SPOILERS THROUGHOUT: I enjoyed the first part of this book, and then I absolutely hated the rest. It started out with an interesting plot line, a woman wanting to get pregnant but not having the financial means to go to a sperm bank. Her friend tells her about the Baby Maker’s Club and Kate (the main character) decides to give it a try. All of the men are heavily vetted, and it is done in a safe environment. I didn’t have any problem with this part of the plot line. Later though, there are many parts of the story that have plot holes and just don’t make sense. Kate goes to the woman in charge of the club and the woman tells her the rules: You don’t exchange names and you can’t fall in love with the donor. The first rule I had no problem with because I could see the reason for it. The second rule however, I felt like it was a really asinine rule that was only put in there to make the relationship between Kate and Chaucer (the donor) even more unattainable. There were no grounds for it, especially since the donor or the woman could back out any time they want anyways. The club has no say in their outside lives. Later in the book, Kate breaks one of the rules inadvertently and sees Chaucer’s ID in his wallet. She googles him and sees that he has a criminal background and spent some time in jail. He was even accused of murder. (This is plot hole. As I mentioned before, all of the donors are heavily vetted. How did the people at the club miss that? It just doesn’t make sense.) Of course, Kate freaks out and runs. I thought that this was a good decision on her part and I would have definitely have done the same. Later because this is a romance book, Kate sees Chaucer at a bar. She waits in the bathroom until he leaves. She admits to herself that she is disappointed and kicks herself for not talking to him. This didn’t make sense to me because she should be doing the complete opposite of that. Chaucer shows up at Kate’s work the next day (like this doesn’t scream STALKER!) and she agrees to talk to him in private. I found this completely idiotic and, even though Chaucer explains himself and tells her of his innocence, I thought it was a horrible idea. Even after Chaucer tells Kate the real story, she immediately believes him and they live happily ever after. This made me angry because Kate didn’t stop to think for one second that he could be LYING! She is just like “Okay, Chaucer. Whatever you say, Chaucer.”. It was just annoying and completely took away any enjoyment I had from the book.
What a different concept this book had for women who want to have a baby. It was definitely interesting and has a lot of sex. I found the book enjoyable, I did think the two characters fell in love quite fast, but I guess it can happen.

3,5 stars
At first the rules of the club scared me off a bit, but they are normal so that's on me. I think I was going in for a lot of drama, but thzt actually didn't happen.
It went a tid bit too fast, but I enjoyed all of it! It was actually pretty good! Especially the part with all the background it was so much to take, but it went fast.
What made my rating so low is the fact that we don't get closure with the club. Like how did that all go?
A good story of a woman who is tied of dating duds, but is desperate to have a baby. She hears about this baby makers club where women can get pregnant the old-fashioned way but still stay anonymous. She takes the opportunity and had sex with a man and starts falling in love.
One issue I did have was that the club wasn't mentioned at the end. Also, I thought the ending was too quick wrapped up.
I'm not doing a full review because I don't feel like it. She wants a baby so she joins a club where they pair her with a man to actually have sex with the old fashion way. It lasts for a couple of weeks. The sex is REALLY pretty hot. Eventually it's a HEA.
I'm giving it a 3 for the hot sex. Story itself was just a meh for me. Maybe I should only give it a 2??
I give this book 5 stars. The storyline between Kate and Chaucer was well written and a must read book. I whole heartedly recommend this book. A woman's adventure to having the baby she so badly wants. I voluntarily reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
I've read a few of this author's books--some were good, some not so much. But with The Babymaker's Club, she's sunk to A NEW LOW.
Are readers really supposed to accept a heroine who has so little self-worth that only a baby will make her life complete? This whiner sees nothing good in her life, but she expects a helpless child to make everything all better. We're supposed to believe that since she's paying for the service, it's okay?
When she gets through moaning and groaning about having no one in her life--no family, not a single friend--and that the cost will leave her penniless, we're left wondering what she uses for a brain. Without a support system of friends and family, who will help her when she has to leave her baby to return to her low-paying job and the cost of childcare is prohibitive? What if she has a difficult pregnancy, and requires months of bed rest? They don't hold your job forever.
The baby daddy is contracted to plant the seed, not to nourish it and care for it as it grows. So that leaves him out, and lets him off the hook. He should worry--he's getting paid. And as the author says, he's enjoying the experience--he's a man. The girl is basically paying to get fucked, literally and figuratively. But I guess all is well, because he's hot.
Now, just hold on--even though the story is weak and the characters are one-dimensional, that's not the main complaint. A writer ought to take a responsible stance when writing. By no stretch of the imagination should this be considered a positive course of action with a happy ending guaranteed.
Depression is not cured by having a baby. Financial struggles are not solved by leaving work to have and care for a child. Raising a child requires the parenting of a healthy person, one who has a comfortable income and a strong support system. Notice I didn't say two parents, although that does split the workload. There are people who are rearing healthy children all by themselves; it's just more difficult.
Babies are wonderful. They're beautiful, sweet and new to everything. They shouldn't enter this world already tasked with the responsibility of making a parent's life tolerable.
After reading the blurb for this book I admit I wasn’t sure I was going to like it but Penny Wylder did it again I was hooked and could not stop reading.
Kate is sick of first dates that never go anywhere and men that are only looking for a hook up rather than getting to know her. After growing up within the foster care system she wants a family and feels that she would be better being on her own and becoming a single mum. After a friend tells her about the very exclusive baby makers club she decides to go for it. The rules are simple no exchanging of last names, no falling in love and keep everything a secret, meeting for hot sex never seemed more ideal. But that is before she meets the man who is to be her bed partner and the rules become impossible to follow especially when she discovers his name by accident. Knowing that their time together is coming to an end can she stop herself from discovering more about him and will what she find change her feelings?
Chaucer maybe good looking but rumours surrounding him have made dating impossible and women want nothing to do with him and after learning about the baby makers club feels that this is the right thing to do, this way he can make a woman’s dream come true but once he meets Kate for the first time he starts to feel things he isn’t meant to. He suddenly wants more than to just be the sperm donor he wants to be the man in her life but that would mean breaking all the rules and once she learns of his past will she really want him or will she run a mile?
Loved loved loved it, this was a steamy ride and both characters were just so likable you couldn’t not want them to have the HEA. I would have liked to know how they managed to escape the club and maybe a longer epilogue but other than that highly recommended read.
There's more than one road to motherhood, but they all involve a sperm donor What are your options when you don't have a boy friend, a spouse or money for a sperm clinic? The story of Chaucer and Kate will take you on a lots of twists and emotional dramaWhat happens when you break the rules. A cute short story that was a quick read. I read a reader copy and voluntarily chose to write a review.
“I know I deserve better, but I don’t feel like I can wait much longer for Prince Charming to come along. I lived my entire life alone. Don’t get me wrong. I love you, Megan, but I want a real family, and when I think of holding a baby of my own, I just think…I don’t know…like I would finally feel complete.”
Megan is 35 and tired of waiting for Prince Charming! She has dated a lost of toads, but neither metamorphosed into a prince, a lover, someone she could see spending her life with and having a child with. So tired of waiting she decides to follow her friends advice and visit a clinic that helps woman get pregnant (the old fashion way). Don’t have the means for in vitro? This place is our solution.
“I’m terribly lonely, my romantic prospects are bleak, and more than anything in this world, I want to be a mother.”
Ok, so I really liked the book and the plot, but... there were inconsistencies in the story that kinda made me feel like this story was thrown together in a rush.
This was such a fun story to read. With a title like The Baby Makers Club, I knew I was in for a fun treat. What do you do when you want a baby but keep failing at dating? You join a babymakers club! That's what the gal did in this story, and her journey is nothing but giggles and sexy-time laughs. I love how this author can write quick sexy stories. Even though they are short novella-length stories, they somehow suck you in and tell a full story. This author is gifted in that way. Every one of her short stories keeps me wanting more from her.
What do you do when you’re a single woman and want a baby and can’t afford a sperm donor...The Baby Maker’s Club.
Kate has always been alone. Raised in foster care , all she wants is her own family. However, meeting the right guy, while living in Lon Angeles, is impossible.
Kate hears about the Baby Maker’s Club. You get set up with a match, all anonymous and make a baby the traditional way. No strings, no messy relationships, just the baby you always wanted and then you never see him again.
Sounds perfect until she finally meets the guy she wants messy with. Too bad he’s her match and it’s against the rules. Sometimes, you need to break the rules to get what you want.
Kate and Chaucer meet under unusual circumstances, but their connection is immediate. These two have amazing chemistry. He’s sexy, sweet and just perfect. She’s finally about to get everything she’s always wanted. Enjoy this short and hot read!

The baby maker’s club tells the story of Kate tired to date and failing to find a man with who she could build a future. Following the advice of her best friend she decided to join the baby maker’s club and start a family on her own and that’s how she met Chaucer.
Unfortunately, I was not a huge fan of the story. The plot was non-existent and parts that would have helped to conclude the story were missing like what were the consequences of having contact between each other out of the club or what happened with Chaucer’s brother.
Despite of that I will be looking forward Penny Wylder’s next book as 99% of them are fun and entertaining.
Another hot, quick, exciting and erotic read by Penny Wylder. What do you do if you are tired of the dating games and are ready to settle down and have babies? That's the dilemma facing Kate. Kate hears about the Baby Maker’s Club from her BFF. You get set up with a match which is all anonymous and make a baby the traditional way. No strings, no messy relationships, just the baby that you always wanted and then you never see the "donor" again. But Kate finds her match Chaucer is someone she wished she met some other place for he is everything she has been looking for. Is Chaucer too good to be true for Kate ? Will Kate get her dream come true? The steam in this story is red hot and electric.
I am giving this read a 4 stars based on the smut and chemistry between Chaucer and Kate, it was explosive. One of my favorite troupes is pregnant heroines, and babies, so I think that I may have had to much expectation based on the cover (love) and title. It really felt like without the intense making baby scenes, there was nothing. We barely learned anything about the characters except that Kate wants a baby and goes to this club to make one. Chaucer, man I wanted and needed so much more, it was not enough information for me to connect with him. I ended this book with more questions than answers.
Kate wants a baby, but she is not in any type of relationship. So what does a single woman do - decides to take matters into her own hands and goes to a secret baby maker club. So hot passionate sex with a stranger in order to make a baby. But what happens when emotions come into play and she cannot stay away from her stud - Chaucer? Does she walk away because she is falling in love? or does Chaucer feel the same? While I loved the storyline and characters I thought that the story was rushed and could have had more detail and emotions.
C+ Hot cute story and had potential to be a really good romance except for the weird rules of the club that were completely ignored in the end. Basically it is stud service for hire. One pay for breeding and the guy gets to have sex with strange women and I assume get paid for it. You cannot date ever but weirdly enough one no-no rule is you cannot fall in love or you will get sued. Those rules in the end as well as the whole Baby Maker's club just sort of fade away for a quick HEA. Short story, potential to be so much better. I liked it well enough.
A very well written short story with great story line and plot. It has characters with great chemistry who also are well described. They are likeable and you connect with them. It is a very unusual club but I like the different story that comes out. Everything goes wrong. Nothing is anonymous and she falls for the hunk. What now? A very sweet romance with suspence and mystery. Captivating and enjoyable but would have loved it to be longer.
Definite Spoilers This was a pretty good story, better than I thought it would be given the subject. I also liked that the h was the H’s first client so he hadn’t been with anyone else and no other children out there, that was my main worry about the story. There were things left unanswered at the end like did they get sued for breaking the contract and the situation with his brother? But overall it was a good and sexy read!
Totally loved the smutty part of this story. Together these two were HOT!! The story itself was a little to fast and left a lot of questions but I love Penny’s work so much and she never disappoints in the bedroom!
Deliciously naughty and funny. I mean really…a Club to get pregnant?! How new-age. Kate has been on more bad dates than she can tolerate but she wants a baby of her own, after all her BFF is pregnant. Why Can’t she be? Megan, Kate’s BFF shares with her how she got pregnant…wasn’t by her husband! Kate is introduced to an exclusive club, invitation only, the Baby Maker’s Club where anonymous men impregnate women who are tired of waiting for “Mr. Right.” But beware. If you break the Rules of the Club you could be sued. Her partner is Chaucer who is EVERYTHING she ever wanted. Too bad he’s off limits…or is he? Chaucer has secrets but there is a noticeable spark to their “encounters.” Those scenes are HOT too. OTT deliciously naughty. Ms. Wylder writes bedroom action quite well…Chaucer has secrets. Can they overcome them? Really enjoyed this short book. Perfect for times when you don’t have much of it. Grab this book when you can blush or whatever (wink) alone or with a significant other. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book.
Yeah he’s got a weird name… She wants a baby but can’t find a decent man. The Baby Makers club is the answer, where good looking guys agree to have sex to make babies. The premise was cuckoo - I kept thinking why is this guy doing this. Their chemistry is off the hook and he likes pillow talk. She finds herself breaking the rules… first by accidentally learning his name and second by falling for him. Then she also googles his name and finds some disturbing news about him… he’s embezzled money and rumors of him killing a previous partner. She doesn’t get pregnant but she can’t stop thinking about him… then she sees him at a bar… he gets her number and goes to her work. He explains how he broke the rule - he’s in love with her. He explains away the disturbing news… she will always believe in him. There is some crazy car sex on the street. 🔥🔥
Two months later she is telling him she is pregnant

Loves these books when you’ve given up hope and don’t think you can find happiness, only when you least expect it you get everything you could have possibly dreamed of. That’s exactly what happens to Kate when she gives up hope with the sham that is here dating life. All she wants is a family and a baby to love. When men aren’t cooperating with her dreams she decides to do it on her own taking advice from her best friend who used a service to have her baby. Kate gets everything that she’s wanted when she goes to the Baby Maker Club. This was definitely a page turner. Can’t wait to see what Penny has coming next.
Kate wants a baby but always dated guys that seemed to be losers. So a friend turns her on to the Baby Making Club. Mosaic runs it and sets you up with the man who will create your baby. Kate has her first night which is room eleven. She meets a man. Names are always up to the couple. By mistake Kate finds out his name which is Chauncer Briggs. She falls which is one of the rules you don't break. Unknowingly he falls for her as much as she falls for him. Kate doesn't go back to the club after the first month. Chauncer sees her in a club and finds out her name. He tracks her down and the rest is history. Was a sweet read.
No one writes insta-love quite like Penny Wylder. I love that she gives enough detail that I feel like I know the characters and what brought them to the moment in time in which this story takes place. The Baby Maker's Club is long enough to be satisfying and quick enough to read in one sitting. Yes, the idea of the club is slightly farfetched, but it's sexy and steamy, and surprisingly emotional. I enjoyed every minute spent between the pages! 4.5 stars!
While the story didn’t really grab me the way that Penny Wylders books usually do it was very well written and has a Happily ever after. Spoiler below.
The only thing that kinda irritated me was that there was all the talk about the rules and the ndas and suing for breach of contract but there was no mention of any of that at the end of the book. After she hung up on Mosiac it’s not mentioned again. I would have liked for that to have been resolved.
Quick hot read. Kate wants a baby, but all the men she dates are losers. Her friend Megan tells her about a club called Baby Maker’s Club. She is not sure she can afford it. She goes just to see. She decide to go for it, but there are some rules, no contact outside the club, no last names, and no falling in love. She thinks she will be ok, until she meets Chaucer the one they pick for her. Can they just make a baby or will they break all the rules?
