My Ratings
5 Stars-The book made it into my heart and if I had to make a top 50 list of all time this book would shimmy its way in.
4 Stars- I loved the book, it was amazing. However, it's not on the elite 'favorite of all time' list.
3 Stars- This is the broadest category. I liked the book all the way to it was average. This should be a 2.5 to 3.5 section.
2 Stars- I read the book all the way through but did not like it.
1 Star- I only give a 1 if I can't finish the book because I dislike it so much. There are a few reasons for DNF. Poor plot line, poor grammar and/or spelling, or maybe just a subject I don't care for.
I DO ROUND UP!

I loved this book! This is the third and finale book in The Arrow of Artemis series. For anyone that doesn’t already know, this is a lesfic adventure series about the Amazons. The whole series has been wonderful but this book is my favorite. It was an excellent ending to the series that should make any fan happy.

The way book 2 ended on a cliffhanger, I will be keeping this review on the shorter side. I don’t want to give any spoilers away even by accident. This was one of my most anticipated reads all year so I want others to be able to fully enjoy it. What I can say is I felt this book had the most action. I was hooked into the book from the beginning and could not once put it down. Not only was there plenty of excitement but the book is filled with feels. I went from tearing up, to a big smile on my face. I just love a good book that can make you feel. The characters in this series eventually get under your skin and I will not be forgetting them anytime soon. This series has everything a good series should have, romance, action, sadness, a little humor, and fantastic characters. I really cannot recommend it enough. Anyone that knows me knows I don’t do many re-reads. This is a series I will be re-reading for a long time to come.

As I have mention before, Aten is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I have not read a book by her that has been less than 4 Stars. She writes books in many different categories so there is something for everyone. I think this series is her best, but all her books are really good. I’m sad that this series has ended, but it has been a heck of a good ride. I cannot wait to see what Aten will come up with next.

An ARC was given to me for a honest review.

The history of us had become our future - Kyri Fletcher

I hit the bookpot with this trilogy, one of the very first things that stood out to me about it was how beautiful the writing was. There were numerous times while I was reading the words struck me so vividly I had to stop and just stare at Leia in awe. I love that there’s really nothing fancy about the author’s writing style, it’s quite simplistic but she writes in such a candid, conversationalist manner it’s so, so easy to read and even easier to fall in love with her words. She makes her characters feel real and tangible, and not once did I think any conflicts or problems that came up throughout the book were created for drama purposes only. And when I finished reading, two main thoughts ran through my mind-

a. this was a damn good series that made me feel so many emotions, I turned into The Emoji Movie

b. how much I am going to miss Kyri, Ori and the rest of the Amazonian women, their majestic world, honorable way of life and their super kick ass weapon skills.

I also liked how the story was setup, how the author decided to let the story unfold. It wasn’t entirely a romance novel and she didn’t decide to exclusively focus on just the romance. There was a focus on each character’s own self-discovery as they navigated through their obstacles. There was room for side characters to shine so even though they were unimpressionable at first, by the end they were just as endearing as the main characters.

The Arrow Of Artemis Series, one of those special, exceptional stories that I think everyone who reads it will find a certain amount of beauty in the books and be able to connect/find them inspirational. A top favorite of many trustworthy Lesfic reviewers and now, mine as well.

Massive bookover, how to get over it? Get under another book asap. The same advice does not work for human-human relationship unless it's with BnJ - there are legit reasons why they are labeled as Vermont's Finest.

Overall the 3 book series is a good read, if you don't mind the rather slow pacing. More personal journey than adventure. More introspection than fantasy. Yet interestingly, it's quite a bit darker (and bloodier) than the usual lesfic. Though the requisite romance is sweet and sexy. The leisurely pace, superfluous and repetitive dialogue and a little too much attention to minutiae seems to indicate fan fiction origins. A few years ago, when fanfic was all I read, I'd have loved this regardless. But having read some well-edited lesfic over the years, it doesn't quite measure up in that respect.

4 stars

“I am your queen and your lover. It is my hands that claim you and worship you.”

And this is why I always say that you don’t necessarily have to have an explicit passage to make a scene hot. I was on fire when I read this right here. It actually does get racy further along but this stopped everything.

The entire series lives up to the accolades and stellar reviews. Plenty of passion, battles, and great characters. By the third book, Kyri has come full circle and has evolved into what you’d expect from a wounded warrior, both emotionally and physically. Witnessing the after effects on Kyri, it’s hard to believe that only two years have passed but that’s in essence how brutality marks its victims. The author does a phenomenal job in portraying the invisible scars that soldiers face post battle. I also appreciate that the book shows how Kyri’s struggles affect not only herself but also her family and friends.

It wasn’t all serious. There’s plenty of humor and a gushingly romantic and physical love story that’ll heat you up. A little bit of intrigue at the end too. So all in all, The Sagittarius is a wonderfully layered story as is the entire series. I’ll miss the Telequire world and their Amazon sisters.

Pros

➤ Great conclusion to the series

Cons

➤ NONE

Aten has not written a bad book in her short but productive career as a writer. I'm glad to say that her winning streak continues with this book also. If you like fantasy lesfic with focus on romance then this series is for you.

I can't say anything much about the book itself because that would spoil things but I'd say this was the best book in the trilogy as it concludes a lot that was set up in the second book.

P.S. There's a free short story set after the events of this book that's well worth a read to see Kyri and Orianna for one last time: https://archiveofourown.org/works/100... (Thank you for the heads-up, Lex)

This has easily got to be one of the best series I've read...

K Aten has done a masterful job of creating such a rich world. There's action and adventure, passion and romance, lust and longing, freedom and wonder, heartbreak and loss, grief and sorrow, forgiveness, innocence, hope, laughter, and most importantly love, and a sense of finding oneself, a sense of belonging.

I spent nearly a week living and immersing myself in k aten's world of the amazons, and I gotta tell you, it was an awesome week!

The characters of this world truly do justice to the myth and legend that surrounds the amazons. They are fierce, and loyal, and wise, and strong, and kind, and full of heart.

Definitely not a series to miss out on

Hot baths, lavender soap, washing of hair, running the trees, gazing into moon-filled love eyes, OTT declarations of love, many archery competitions, did I mention lavender soap and hot baths?

I paused my obsessive listening of the podcast "60 Songs that Explain the 90s" so you KNOW that I was fully immersed in this book. (If you haven't listened yet, go forth, thank me later.)

In this final chapter, we are further driven into Kyri's world after her traumatic experience from book 2. We discover just how frail the human condition can be, and how support, love, communication, acceptance and connection helps bring our reluctant heroine back to herself. She realizes she can be all of her identities without pushing out the ones she abhores, she just needs to learn to channel it, which her solid family helps her with. She learns true love and the meaning of family. Damn, it is extremely well written and I felt all the feels.

I was surprised that the author chose to wrap up Kyri's journey back to her people so very quickly. I felt I got some whiplash there, thinking my book was missing some chapters. I'm trying not to give spoilers here, but it was a curious choice. A LOT happens in this book, which I did enjoy for the most part, it had me intrigued and rolled at a steady pace, but ended up being a little too long. The author *maybe* could have squeaked a 4th book, but I digress. At some point I felt too much repetition, as per my first line, and for the record, I hate lavender. Blech. At least the Amazons didn't use patchouli though, I may have ceased reading if that was the case.

Overall! A HUGE high five for the series, K. Aten. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride. A joyous 4.25/5.

Epic conclusion to "The Arrow of Artemis" trilogy. We see some surprising depths in this series. It isn't just a high fantasy. Mind you, I love myself some high fantasy - world building, characters, and the epic feel of it all are right up my ally. But this one is a rare one, there are tropes that are played with, some good action scenes, politics, and a romance. Yet, all that feels smaller in this series - it's a smaller scale that is more impactful for it. Even when the scope of the world expands to the Roman Empire, it still feels intimate, with the focus solely on Kyri and the people she meets. Kyri is certainly impacted by the wider world of Roman political machinations, but Aten is able to show how painful people's political ploys can be on others at an individual level. I think that's what amazed me about this third book, and the trilogy as a whole. It is about Kyri's journey, and even thought it must have been tempting to expand the focus outside of Kyri, it never strayed away from Kyri.

I highly recommend this series - especially for lesfic readers who may want to delve into fantasy, but are turned off by the magic or mysticism. In many aspects it feels like a historical fiction with some hints of magic (historical fantasy), but the fantastical elements feel grounded and real. Kyri is an amazing character, and the side cast are interesting in their own right. You also cannot dismiss the romance - its slow burning and is willing to make its lovers work at it. Hell, I even loved the mini romantic plot between Kyri's two friends.

Read this trilogy - you'll love every minute of it.

The end of book 2 and the beginning of book 3 were very good. I was glued to the pages.

Kyri is a true warrior and great person, she had some much physical and emotional pain to overcome. So happy for her and Ori.

Sigh. Gonna miss Kyri and Ori. So ends the saga very aptly named 'The Arrow of Artemis'. The three books clearly define different aspects of the lead MC Kyri as she progresses from a simple Fletcher, to an accomplished Archer, and finally her role as Sagittarius. The three aspects find it difficult to reside in the same person in this last book. Our Kyri is pretty broken, understandably, and needs to get her pieces put back together again.

Not gonna lie, it's an emotionally heavy book at times. And I for one freely admit to a bit of the sads that it's over. There are very few characters (out of the thousands of books I've read) that stick to you and leave an indelible mark on you. Kyri Fletcher is one of those characters. She's special. And I think it says something to the quality and presentation of the writing that a MC is as endearing, lovable, and admirable as Kyri.

Hold up, let me breathe. Whew! Wow! This series are F epic!
Right from the first page of book one I already knew that this series would go straight to my favorites.
I was actually itching to read the first two before the release of the third but Thank God I made the right choice to wait because If not I would go insane.
Every page is worth it. The hype is real! Well, at least for me. The authors has a way with her words. Can you be my therapist?
I going to check her other books.
This book gave me a lot of feels.

First book is more of an introduction, no romance but still a nice read.
Second book - all the cheesy feels. The cuteness!
And the third - This is what you call a finale.

Kyri/Kyrius - Actually, she’s a little too perfect for me but I do like her a lot. I like her all through out the series.
I’m blinded with her negative traits because I’m biased like that. 😋
Ori/Queen Orianna - I can’t think of a better Queen. She really stands out. A very lovable character. Although, I wish that I had a glimpse of her POV especially with Kyri gone. I like to feel her pains and all. 😌

Shana and Coryn - I’m interested to read about them too. Especially Shana, she’s a good sister to Kyri. Although at times I felt like she valued Kyri more than Kyri valued her.
With Coryn, I like her wits. A book for them?

Can I have a pet like Gata? Seriously?

A lot of interesting and likable characters From book one to three. Basha, Khalani, Glypera, Iva, Pocori, to name a few that stuck with me. Actually, they’re too many but I like them all, well maybe except for Princess Alcina and Megana and her minions. And also Aelia.

I fell in love with both Kyri and Ori. Like really, I hate cheaters. So please excuse me. 😂

Be warned that there are a lot of triggers here, I kind of expect it since this is a barbaric era, But I was so engrossed with what I’m reading that I got over it.
(Rape, cheating (If you call that cheating), abuse, murder)

This book actually reminded me of When Women were Warriors.

I was a zombie the entire week, I gave up sleep. I was grumpy because I was sleepy and I don’t wanna be disturbed.

I was having a hard time with time descriptions but now I think I’m gonna use on my daily life 🤔😂

This is an epic tale of a girl, who leaves her childhood home, and dying father, to fulfill her destiny. A destiny that was created by the goddess Artemis, herself.
A tale of loss, of home, of family, and of innocents, but it’s also one of discover. Discovery of the potential within ones own being, of a family and home of ones own making, and of finding the other half of ones soul.
A tale of overcoming all that is put into ones path, to come out the other side enlightened, and yes scarred, but also gifted of ones own self worth and love.
I highly recommend this series. I am saddened and uplifted by its completion. Sadden, because I will miss the characters within, but uplifted to know their stories, triumphs, losses, and love.

Man, this series! I’m still on my historical kick so I was excited to find these but I was always wary of the first person POV. I’m so happy I gave it a go, I devoured all three books in 3 days. I found myself trying hard to put the third book down every so often so I can savour and not let it end, it was that good.

This was masterfully crafted, how she weaved it together harkening to previous events and dialogue is the kind of read I love. I’ve cried, smiled, and lost sleep, I really felt with this one.

Once again I was blown away by this author’s touching and poetic words. I have been following Kyri’s journey from the first book and I must say that I have so much admiration for Kyri’s resilience and her honor in the face of adversity. Throughout this book the author has placed many nuggets of timeless wisdom for me to meditate upon and I just have to say those words will stay with me for a very long time. Despite the very emotional beginning and the few tears I’ve shed, I must say that I loved every word of this captivating, romantic and heartwarming story. I just finished this book and I miss Kyri, Orianna and the rest of the Telequire Amazon women dearly. Trust me, this is one book you won’t want to put down once you start reading it.

I was waiting to see how Kyri came back and it has been a journey indeed. Life is hard and we all know it, challenges are only meant to make us stronger and we are better persons when we manage to overcome them. This series has been amazing and it will always hold a special meaning to me as I very much relate to Kyri's personality. Just like the Arravan and Celeano series, it's a remainder that there are many things worth fighting for but love will always be our greatest challenge and reward. May Artemis smile down upon us all!

I didn't want it to end

The story of Kyri and Ori touched my heart and soul. It made me think and feel. I was taken back in time and felt a part of their lives, a part of the Amazon Nation. All three books of this series held my attention. I could hardly wait to continue to read more each night when my work day was done. I am not sure why I am only now discovering this incredibly talented author. I truly look forward to reading more of her writings!

Final installment in the Arrow of Artemis trilogy. You do need to read them in order (see listing at the bottom of this post). And you just need to read them!!

Kyri continues to fight as a Roman slave/gladiatrix/sagittarius on the promise of being able to buy her freedom and that of her fellow Amazon. But the stress of so much death has begun to erode Kyri's sense of self.

Upon her return to the Telequire nation, Kyri must battle not just the physical scars but the mental traumas she has suffered. But with the help of Orianna, Shana and her other Amazon tribeswomen, Kryi begins to find the balance between her violent past and a hopeful future.

Arrow of Artemis series (brief version) - READ THEM!!
Book 1 - The Fletcher - joins Amazons, finds community, purpose and love
Book 2 - The Archer - finding place in community, tragedy tears her away
Book 3 - The Sagittarius - fighting (physically and mentally) to find her way back

Brilliant conclusion

Wonderful book, I found the relationship between Ori and Kyri very engaging and the all characters were well formed and had good dialogue, it made for a well rounded and complete ensemble.
The flow was good as was the pacing. I felt I was really living through the book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this and would highly recommend it to anyone who likes action fantasy and wlw romance, I couldn't put it down once I started

This was one of the best endings of a series I have read! A lot of times the author just fizzles in the last book by Aten kept the best for last. The build up of the characters and the interactions pulled at your emotions throughout the series. I will recommend you read them in order since the main character evolves throughout the whole series. Be prepared to binge.

Beautiful end to the trilogy

If you already loved the first two books in this trilogy then you are definitely going to love this final instalment! After the cliff hanger at the end of the previous book this one had me on the edge of my seat from the very beginning! It was so raw and full of emotion and had me sobbing for a good proportion of it. I found myself rushing through to find out what was going to happen but as the story drew to a close I got slower and slower really wanting to savour the beautiful story with brilliant characters - I confess I delayed reading the epilogue for a whole day because I didn’t want to be ‘done’ with these books. I would highly recommend this whole series to anyone who loves a beautiful romance with a great ‘learning who you are’ story about strong women. I personally loved it!

Fulfilling journey with this series.
This third and final book had a lot of facets to it which were mixed into the story quite well in my opinion.

We are accustomed to Kyri's fitting in and love insecurities in previous books but here while insecurities are the same we are introduced to new dimensions to her reasonings.

I felt I was sharing these emotions with her knowing what she has and was going through. Mix in the miscommunications, the therapy talks, wise comforts as well as all the internal thoughts, surrounding issues and Shakespeare like sonnets and I felt I just read a book that I would have wanted to be a story of my great great grandma or ta trials and tribulations 😀.

This was an amazing ending to the trilogy, I was very concerned after reading the second book with Kyri left as a Roman gladiator that this series would devolve into a Spartacus story line. I shouldn't have worried as it's really no spoiler that early in the book it's back to Amazon lands and that's where this story belongs as the author has created rich and varied world. Of course just because Kyri is back in Greece, that doesn't mean all her problems over. I can't believe that this started out as Xena fanfic but with other fan fic turned published novels out there I shouldn't be surprised. You can still find a few stories by the author on the fan fic site.
I read this trilogy in three days because I just couldn't put it down.

the arrow of artemis series is a very good way to escape the modern world. ah to be an amazon, running in the trees, competing in games of skill, enjoying the company of good friends and even courting a queen. in the sagittarius the road for kyri is harsh and has many pitfalls, but with persistance, strength and love, life can be close to what is was. that's what i love about this series, be strong, be your true self, embrace love and help from others and live life.
