Another fun cozy paranormal mystery that has you turning pages until the end! Ember, who is finally going on a date with Thad, a shifter, convinces her older sister Stevie to double with the Vamp next door who has a crush on her. At Red's Bar they witness a loud fight between one of Thad's friends, Chetan another shifter and a Siren. When Ember and Stevie head to the powder room, they find the dead body of Chetan. Here starts the possibility of a war between the Sirens and the Wolf pack, since Chetan's brother blames the Siren date for his death and to add to the problems in the town, there is a "Boar Boy" named by the new editor of the local paper who runs around spraying graffiti on the town stores and the fact that Stevie who communicates with ghosts sees the ghost of Chetan who says he was killed by the "Boar Boy." The new paper editor, Tilly seems to have a hate on to the Crystal Palace hotel and their family and writes horrible stories about the hotel, a mainstay in the community economy, and the family who own it. There are secrets, a secret spell book found and then missing, a Clair challenge, the appearance of a long lost person, trying to keep the peace, zombies and people who aren't who they say they are. All these threads are woven together so deftly with a surprise at the end! You will love this series and the humor and sisters are so much fun! I received an ARC from the author but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

The end of this one had me on the edge of my seat! I was so mad at the person that was out to get the Clair-following sisters. That person was so MEAN! I can’t stand when people are mean, but obviously it makes for good reading. I was just so anxious wondering how Ember was going to get out of her terrible predicament. Did she get out unharmed in every way? Did anyone end up missing any limbs (wink). You’ll have to read to find out!

My heart was racing like crazy and I was so into some parts of the book that when my son came into my reading area asking me a question, I simply said something similar to, “ugga da bu” with my hand up waving him away. Lol. Then I pulled myself away from the story for long enough to tell him I was sorry for disregarding him and asked him to give me a little time to get through the rest of my chapter. I couldn’t just leave Ember and the other person frozen without the solution. I had to read on until the good part came and a hero showed up.

Next is the final book. Book 6 of 6 “Pineapple Upside Drown Cake”. However! Something cool I noticed is that there is an in between book called “Strawberry Butterscream” that is sort of like book 5.5. I’m starting that in just a moment…

The zombie arm was awesome!

Another great read in the series. She has been trying to set up her elder sister with the vamp next door for ages. This foursome date wasn't going to well and it got worse when they discovered the body on the way to the washroom. Who killed him? Was it Boar Boy as his ghost said? To add stress, the seer's are running an anti stress campaign with a cash prize. Conflicts in the community rise and the bed newspaper editor just fuels the flames. Magic spell books, a graffiti artist on the loose, a brother on the rampage and the return of Orien's father just add to the mayhem. A great fast moving plot with a surprise culprit make this worth reading. The characters add to the chaotic mayhem but Orien's reaction to his father's arm is priceless.

Boar Boy

Ember and Stevie need to find out who murdered a wolf shifter before a war breaks out between the shifters and sirens. Was it the siren he was dating or someone else in town? How does Boar Boy come into it? And who is painting graffiti all over town? Will the sisters find the answers before time runs out?
A puzzling tale that keeps you guessing.

This one was so great. I had a vague idea as to who the killer was but just couldn't figure out why. Oh my gosh the ending was fantastic and has me so excited for the next book.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Southern sisters up to their eyeballs in trouble

It isn’t bad enough that there is a murder that makes the wolves hate the sirens, but now a Mortie (undead zombie) shows up to cause further stress

The psychic sisters can’t seem to go to many days without stumbling over a dead body again.

With each book in the series we learn more about people and their individual stories which makes them much more relatable.and real to the reader. This is again is a most enjoyable read.

A new character in town

The newspaper says "Boar Boy" is vandalizing local businesses. A death causes tension between two magical groups. A new threat. Relationships among the characters continue to evolve.

I do like this series but the author tends to ramble on and on about irrelevant things. the main character seems to be a dingbat but stumbles onto the answers anyway.

This book felt much shorter than the others in the series and none of the elements felt particularly well fleshed out. The mystery definitely took a back seat in this story, with the focus seemingly being a more in depth look at the day to day happenings in Misty Key.
