Second chances don’t usually come around again, except in fairy tales. Abby Haines knows that all too well. A former rich girl, she’s now working hard to claw her way up in the world, alone. Penniless and tossed out by her parents for her career choice, it’s hard. The last person she wants to see on the deserted island in the middle of a photo shoot is the former love of her life.
He’d better stay out of my damn way. There’s going to be no enemies to lovers crap here. Though the enemies part is pretty well carved in stone…
She’d been the light of his life. But their previously forbidden love, full of class issues, led Dare Logan to poor choices. As did being a young, crazily in love, stupid young buck. Now? A lot has changed. He’s a Delta North Special ops soldier. He’s smartened up, and redemption is on the table.
With the strength of his military unit and the camaraderie of his Delta North Team band of brothers behind him, Dare now has an agenda. He’s learned what it means to be a man. But can he make their unexpected reunion count for forever when she won’t even talk to him, and the sight of her still punches him in the gut?
*Note: Dare and Abby have a steamy prequel novella, too: The Secret.
Amazon bestselling author Susan Saxx has escaped into books since she was in kindergarten, and sees no reason to stop that nefarious activity. Only now she loves crafting tales of sass, suspense and heart that keep readers guessing--and up all night! She is well-known for her sexy, small town heroes, be they the special ops soldiers of Delta North Team, or the Men of Refuge Bay.
When she’s not writing (both male/female and male/male romance), she loves to binge-watch Netflix, exercise (within reason), dream of cottage life and endless supplies of dark chocolate. Oh, and she also caters to the whims of her feline companions--pretty much all day long.
This Series Continues to Captivate Me After reading Book 1 of Susan Saxx’s Delta North Team: Soldiers Coming Home series, I was pretty excited to continue the journey. “Real Deep,” the third installment in the lineup, was just as memorable for me as the earlier ones, and I am thoroughly in love! Set in the South Pacific, far from their Canadian home, Dare Logan (big brother of Tabby Logan from the first two books in the series) is suddenly face-to-face on a tiny tropical paradise with none other than his ex-girlfriend, Abby. Dare is a focused, hardworking contractor – sexy, smart, and handsome as a romance hero should be, and it quickly comes slamming home that he has never gotten over his girl. Beautiful, smart, and talented, Abby is a photographer trying to make her mark on the industry when a dangerous situation on the island necessitates relying on the one man she has sworn never to trust again. The characters are such relatable people with flaws and insecurities that make you fall in love with them and root for their chance at a “happily-ever-after.” Although, to be honest, I should also note that I’d instantly vote that loser McMaster off the island! I felt all the emotions as they did – the sweet ones, the heart-wrenching ones, and everything in between. Saxx is that good. And oh my wow, the steamy scenes!!! I am so looking forward to the next book in this series. Such great work, Susan Saxx!
This was a great second chance romantic suspense! Dare and Abby get the chance to have their happiness with one another and Dare isn’t going to let anything stop it from happening this time. She isn’t going to make it easy for him, but it’s clear to me to how much he has grown and changed since she saw him last. Can they actually find a life with one another? Once you dig into this book, it’s very difficult to find your way out until you turn the last page

Abby was a rich girl. Dare wasnt rich. They loved each other or so Abby thought. Not only did her parents push her out and disown her for her career choice but Dare left her too. Now she hated him. When Dare comes back and sees Abby hes a man now and know the bad choices he made and he wants Abby back but she wont even talk to him. This he will have to work for. A must read.

Real Deep, a second chance romance for Dare and Abbie who find themselves locked together in an awkward situation in a beautiful location. Abbie a photographer and Dare realize that they have unresolved issues that they must work through if either of them will be happy again. This novel is a well-plotted trope, set in a stunning location with great characters and an easy-paced narrative.
The second book in the Delta North Team Small Town Military Romance Series: Soldiers Coming Home a story that held my interest until the end. A second chance story for Abby Haines and Dare Logan and all their ups and downs as the work toward their happy ending. "Real Deep" is Dare and Abby's story. It is a small town military romance with a second chance at love. This about two people from different worlds but not so far apart. It is a nicely developed story that is both interesting and intriguing with a little suspense. I like how their story goes! *I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.*
oooooohhhh HOT! Dare and Abbie get to reconnect under not the best circumstances but with a guy like Dare it turns out it's just the right type of circumstance for Abbie to realise how much she still has feelings for him.
Great characters, story and setting. Keeps you turning the pages.
Real Deep is a great second chance romance. It has great characters and is set in an absolutely stunning location. Although it is part of a series it is a perfect stand-alone book. I enjoyed this book and definitely recommend it.
