The story follows Ahi,the protagonist who is the founder of a publication house named Ankur. Her dad is the the Director General of Kolkata Police and her mother is a homemaker. Ahi being a bibliophile enjoys her occupation and with a best friend that keeps her sane. When an unpublished autobiography of her favourite author ( who recently committed suicide) arrives at her table she more than delighted to get this opportunity. She starts reading word by word of this never published account of the author she delves deeper into some deep dark secrets that is connected not only to the author but her as well. One by one lies begins to unravel and her life gets tangled up in the mystery. Nevertheless she is determined to published it.

A lot of things happens and we come across different characters, some with ulterior motive whilst others were honest and wanted the best for her.

This is one of the best mystery novel i have read this year as the author has successfully created a story that will hold your attention from the first page. The twists and turns will keep you glued to the pages. Yes,it had a swoon worthy romance but it never overpowered the suspense and honestly that's what I loved the most about this book.

Ahi is a strong character who grows stronger with each challenge she faces.

A 5 stars read for all the emotional and thrilling reading experience. I had a great time reading Sin is the new love. The title of the book makes perfect sense to me and this was definitely a page turner.

A MUST READ.

Blurb- Its the story of a girl named Ahi, living in Kolkata. Her father is a DGP in Kolkata and she was running a Publication house named Infant Publishers. Ahi was bibliophile since childhood. Her favourite authors were Rabindranath Tagoe, Stephen King, Paulo coelho etc. But her favourite author was Devang Awasthi. One day she got an manuscript of an autobiography of Devang Awasthi, who committed suicide a while ago. He was a best seller author so this publication will be a breakthrough for her publication house. But for that she needed a signature of his family member. She decided to go to Noida for the signature and series of events started to occur. Read the book for further plot.

My take- After reading the title, O thought it will be teenage love story. But it came as a surprise that it is not. Its a wonderful story. The story runs in two frames. In the present with events occurring with Ahi and in the past in form of manuscripts of an autobiography. Wonderfully written, Incredible plot. Story grabs your attention till the last. The end is incredible. Unpredictable suspenses, and you cannot put it down until its finished. I just loved it!

Just the name doesn't justify the book or vice versa that's only my question.?

"Sometimes the truth is totally different from reality"
-Meghna Roy

Ahi, a carefree bengali girl who lives in kolkata, running a publishing house. Being a bibliophile from childhood, she always loved to read books but only one author used to take her to the other world, Devang Awasthi. His novels used to win many hearts. One fine day, she received a parcel from none other then her favorite author Devang, inside was a manuscript of his autobiography, but she was actually terrified, because Devang Awasti committed suicide few days ago. She wanted to publish that manuscript but she needs a signature of any family member of Devang's, so she leaves for Delhi. But while she starts reading the manuscript, she is unaware that the truth behind sending her this manuscript is brutal, which can question her about her own origin...
The story is said in past (Manuscript) and present (Ahi's)
What was Devang Awasti hiding in that manuscript? Who send it to her on the first place? What was Ahi going to learn about the truth? Someone is going to betray and some crimes are about to be revealed...

From start till end, there were no places that i was not aw-struck. The language used in this book was so elegant, beautifully terrifying, spine chilling and emotional as well. The language used in the manuscript was so pure, i totally got into devang's character more then Ahi's, and i could feel his every emotions, his pain, his sorrows, his love, his hate, his everything. The choices of words used in the manuscript was way better then Ahi's present. It was a page turner, pace was totally mind blowing. Twist and turns of events kept me hooked, suspense was well kept. Little romance was also so beautiful. Ending kept me in depression as the truth was unexpected.

Its a must read.

My Take

What happens when you get your favorite author's unpublished script? His personal stories, his unknown life. For someone like Ahi who's a publisher and a avid book reader its a treasure of information. The author is no more. A daughter of ACP she has seen challenges and also thrive for them. So she is looking forward to publish the book for which she needs approval from the Dead authors family.

Being a reclusive one the author Devang Awasthi is famous and yet unknown to the fans. People know and connect through his book. Ahi goes to Delhi from  Kolkata to get a no objection from the family to publish his story.

Samim her childhood friend and business partner supports her decisions to go to Delhi. His role and character is sweet simple and limited.

What happens when she starts being a part of incidents that weave around  her? Is she connected or just coincidence? Suicide or murder? Who? Why? Read the book to find out.

ACP  Abhimanyu Rathore is the one investigating the case and on a hunt for the criminal.

With Ahi's help will he be able to nab the criminal?

The book is pacy, moves strength to strength with proper detailing of scenes, characters and incidents. The story line is strong and the plot watertight. The suspense is maintained well till the end. The climax is a befitting one.

Everyone has layers to their personality, being strong, weak, positive, negative as per situations and are justified well.

I would rate this 4 /5.

Title: Sin Is The New Love
Author: Abir Mukherjee
Genre: Mystery thriller
Publisher: Srishti publishers

Storyline:

"Sin Is The New Love" follows the story of a young female protagonist Ahi who is the daughter of Kolkata DGP Dhritiman Chatterjee.
Ahi's dream was to make her publishing house "Ankur" popular. From her childhood, she used to read a lot of books and one of her favourite authors was Devang Awasthi. The anonymous envelope with the autobiography of her favourite author Devang Awasthi was promising enough to take her publications to the next level if only she would be able to publish that manuscript. The manuscript made her move all the way from Kolkata to Noida just to uncover the secret about her own self.

How is Devang Awasthi's autobiography connected with Ahi's life?
Who has sent her the manuscript and what's their purpose behind it?

Grab your copy now to dive in this gripping thriller.

My Opinion:

Let me start with the cover and the title first, I don't know why a lot of people don't find the title relevant to the plot but to me, the intriguing cover is a perfect projection of the story. The eloquent writing style and the brilliant narration kept the suspense element throughout the story which had never failed to grab my attention.

Needless to say, the manuscript should be given all the appreciation for the success of the plot. And Abir Mukherjee should take all the pride for the outcome of his hard work. It was not only Ahi who couldn't put down the manuscript because of her morbid curiosity but me too as the story dragged me along with its pace.

Not everyone who writes has the ability to make us feel the characters alive. Indeed the author had done a great job in giving life to Devang Awasthi through his meticulous writing. It wasn't like that I was reading a part of the book that was written by Abir, but it was like as if I am reading the manuscript written by Devang Awasthi himself and as if he was real though I was completely aware that he was just a mere fiction.

The emotions, pain, and the vulnerability depicted was so real that it made me feel sorry for Devang Awasthi whenever he was brutally published by his master. The difference shown between the manuscript narration and the current narration is simply outstanding.

The Medical and Psychological terms and explanations stated in this book was a fine example of the author's deep knowledge and his research for this work. The unexpected plot twist at the end will leave you dumbstruck. This book has all the elements one would expect from a Crime/Mystery thriller.

A nail-biting suspense thriller that will make you stay up late night to get to the bottom of the story. I can see a promising author in Abir's writing. I would like to thank the author for providing me with a copy of this book for review.

My rating: 4/5

One of the most messed up stories I have ever read! And I hate that 'cover'!

Almost ruined by the cover!
This book came to me at the right time!
It was such a good read that I approached the author regarding the cover as the cover almost ruined my interest before I picked up the book.
The story is really, really dark and awesome. I have never read a book like this before.
The characters are really gloomy in a weird good way, if I am making any sense here.
It just developed the plot so well.
The story has been narrated from two perspectives. The main protagonist, Ahi as a publisher finding the unexpected autobiography of her fav writer, Devang Awasthi.
As was seen and heard by many, and as per the bestsellers by such an author, the autobiography spoke just the opposite of what the author was in real.
I wouldn't go much into details as it would lead to spoilers. And for psychological thrillers we don't want that. Once spoiled, forever spoiled☺️
Just pick up this book, you won't regret it.
👍Awesome writing style
👍Different, unique plot concept
👍Realistic characters
👍Realistic events

And again I would say I really hate the cover with a vengeance!

But I would so recommend this one with some trigger warning regarding strong language and explicit scenes.

Good things:
1. Very well-written and lucid book, with a narrative that focused equally on characterisation and plot.
2. The story flowed fast and smooth, almost relentlessly until the reader reaches the end.
3. With its twists and turns the story would put Bollywood potboilers to shame.
Bad things:
1) Completely improbable.
2) The Cigarette-smoking slang-using Bong girl who is rebel with or without a cause has become such a stereotype that now it reads like a caricature, not a character.
3) It remained rather open-ended.
Nevertheless, if you can gloss over these factors, the novel tutns out to be a solid read.

"Sin is the New Love" is a crime thriller and mysterious Indian Fiction. It's a novel by author Abir Mukherjee which is published by "Shristi Publishers & Distributions".
The story of the novel revolves around a girl Ahi, who is an aspiring publisher. She wish to make her small publication house "Ankur" big someday. Being the only daughter of the reputed and renowned Officer Dhritiman Chatterjee, Director General of Police, Kolkata, Ahi has been growing up as the noor of her father's eyes. Ahi has always been a very active reader and a huge fan of the famous and wealthy author cum doctor, Devang Awasthi. Her bookshelf covers a special corner with all her collection of Devang Awasthi's work. On a random day, Ahi finds her favourite author Devang Awasthi's biography landed on her table. She is shocked and surprised to find the manuscript in her hands after the death of Devang Awasthi, which was a suicide. In excitement Ahi reads the manuscript which reveals to her the confession of the author. It reveals the unknown truths of his unbelievably awful days of growing up, his illegal business, his partners in crime and few other people close to him. The thrilling and suspenseful manuscript leads Ahi to Delhi to get the signature of Devang Awasthi's family members so that she could publish it. But it is found that her curiosity only pulls her down to the darkest depth of a conspiracy. Her curiosity and dream only seem to take her to the centre of various crime scenes and murders and all these seems to be pre-planned. In the midst of all these uncertainty and conspiracy, Ahi meets the stud and ever charming ACP Abhimanyu Rathore who has been investigating the case of Devang Awasthi. The eagerness of publishing this mysterious autobiography, Ahi steps towards the unimaginable truth of her originality.
My personal experience of reading this book was truly awesome. I was awestruck by the end of the book. The characters in the novel are limited and each of them plays a very important role in the story. I love how the author maintained the suspicion till the end of the story and had put a question in the readers mind at the end. The language was simple and very clear. No unnecessary descriptions and has smart and catchy lines. The writing style is mature and does not seem unprofessional at all. I enjoyed the book thoroughly. My favourite character is obviously Ahi, the protagonist. I loved how the author portraited her as a strong and independent girl in her twenties. The story is realistically fictional and it truly shook me. Abir Mukherjee is truly an excellent writer and this book is a promise in itself that he can present more of such mind-blowing and thrilling novels for us. This book can be enjoyed by everyone and surely no one would ever be disappointed reading it. It's my recommendation to every readers to read this book and enjoy. Happy Reading.

Detailed review - https://kalaikoodam.blogspot.com/2021...

The story is itself was very different and interesting. For the first few pages, I was clueless about what to expect. But once Ahi gets the manuscript, the plot gets interesting and the story gets lifted quickly off the ground. The prose was simple and the story was well-paced. After an initial hiccup of say 10 - 15 pages, the read was a breeze. There were twists and turns at regular intervals to keep us engaged throughout the story. The suspense was unpredictable. The few characters had their own moments in the story. The chemistry between Samim and Ahi was sweet and I hoped a lot more happened between them and he got his space. There are many socially important issues that were discussed which were very relevant. The writer has taken his own sweet time and effort for the book and that is positively visible. The grey shade given to Abhimanyu did work positively given that the climax of the book is left open for another book to follow. Devang Awasthi who just travels inside the manuscript remains an enigma even if it was an autobiography revealing what he was under the mask of a writer and an important personality in the society. The grey shade given to him and the characters surrounding Devang ie. his father, wife, son, servants all blends well with the storyline. But, I did feel Ahi was self-centered in some places and did irritate me in rare instances. Also, I felt that the scenes involving police action could be pepped up some more in tandem with the build-up for Abimanyu.

This book is a good one-time read for thriller and mystery lovers. Even though around 200 pages long; this can be a fast-paced read and sets a good backdrop to the next sequel which I would love to read as well.

[16/11, 20:09] Anindita Banerjee: If you want to read this work, you should have your utmost of bravery and this is one trigger warning which I would like to give you first of all before reviewing this book because it holds quite a lot of vivid scenes of violence which might disturb the psyche of the reader. Now, coming to the work, apart from the above warning, this is one of the best romantic thriller fictions ever written in this century. This book might definitely be compared to the likes of Agatha Christie, Sherlock Holmes, Byomkesh Bakshi, and a very unknown but truely important Lalbazzar Goyenda Daroga Priyonath, well this fictional character might be unknown but he gave birth to our very own and modern Lalbazzar Goyenda Shobor written by Shirshendu Bandhopadhyay and also he gave the stepping stones to authors of the later generation to create detective characters, who will equally mystify us and on the other hand solve toughest of the cases. I have felt that the author while creating this masterpiece has been thoroughly inspired by Shobor and Daroga Priyonath. Every character in this book has been perfectly presented with their own share of Grey and Black materials, the only pure character being Ahi, who is on a journey to publish a manuscript by her favourite detective fiction author, crossing paths with the muck paths of the Delhi and Kolkata Underworld. From the very beginning of the book, the author has made the perfect plot for a detective fiction and has set us on a roller coaster ride. From the very beginning, I found the character of ACP Abhimanyu Rathor to be quite-a-mystery, and author has successfully kept up to that
[16/11, 20:15] Anindita Banerjee: till the last page of the book. The most brilliant aspect which I admired the most about this book and which had made the author his creative best, is the use of meta-fiction. Two parallel plots have been written thoroughout the book, perfectly balancing the art of the narrative, one in Ahi's parallel live racing with her reading of Devang Awasthi's tale of crimes. Last, but not the list, I appreciated the author's use of the vernacular narrative of Bangla, which has given a lingering taste and flavour to the book. I will say no more, and if you want to know more, immediately grab this book and dig into it because it is worth your spending of money and time. A highly recommended thriller read by me.
I would like extend all my best wishes to the author for his future endeavours.

Sin Is The New Love is a thriller + young adult fiction with a simple elegant language, by Abir Mukherjee. It is a perfect combination of love, friendship, mystery, emotions and thriller.
The story revolves around Ahi, an aspiring young publisher who is set to make her own identity. Her dad is DGP of Kolkata & her childhood best friend Samim is her support system whenever she is in need.
Ahi is a Bibliophile, and loves reading works of Devang Awasthi. Out of nowhere, she received the manuscript of his biography. The arrival of the parcel leaves her confused as according to news, he had committed suicide recently.
As she was aware that, publishing his autobiography would get her a way to make her “Ankur” publications famous. In order to get an approval for publishing his biography, she reaches to Awasthi family. She unknowingly becomes a part of series of mysterious incidents. Was Devang Awasthi’s death a murder or suicide? How Ahi was was connected to Awasthi? To uncover the truth read- Sin Is The New Love.
The emotions and the pain is written so real that you would forget your surrounding and become a part of the book and feel the presence of character around you. The medical terms stated were explained well enough for the readers to understand it well. With every passing chapter you would be expecting a different incident to come up but you would encounter something unexpected.
The book is an enjoyable thriller, with an engaging plot. The twist in the climax was predicted by me up to certain extent (I don’t know about others :P) The writing is flawless and there is no unnecessary stretching of the story.
Once you start with the book, you can’t keep it back without finishing it.Would like to read a sequel of what happened to Ahi & Abhimanyu (the hot lover boy cop) Abir is definitely a promising author.

A Sinful Pleasure: 4.5/5

he subject of this review is Abir Mukherjee’s third novel named Sin is the New Love'. I took a hell lot of time to read this book and I had enough reasons to do so. First of all, I had got the chance to read Abir’s second book, S.O.A.R and it was one of the most neatly written books I had come across. So bearing its pristine nature in mind, I had to approach this latest offering. Secondly, like it’s name suggests, is written in the garb of a suspense thriller, so layer by layer it reveals its core and so you got to be well acquainted with everything in order to move on. There were many interesting characters, not least its female protagonist and a ‘ghostly presence’ of a bestseller writer, so you needed to study them carefully, get there in their heads and sense what they were trying to do and why. It was a fruitful exercise and rewards were handsome.
I might wanna give you some details first. I very often dread doing that simply because it runs the risk of making my reviews sound like ‘spoiler alerts’. I would try to be careful though here because reviewing a ‘suspense novel’ could be even trickier. I gotta tell you, however, that the climax of it is absolutely sensational and even though you could sense going through 70% of the book thinking ‘been there, read that’, the climax would leave you go ‘gaffaw’.

Ahi is a young, vivacious and a very educated girl. She is trying to make her name in the field of publishing. She has got her childhood friend Sameem as her business partner. Her father is the DGP of Kolkata. Everything is moving smoothly in her life until one day she gets the news of her favorite writer being murdered under suspicious circumstances. This writer, Mr. Devang Awasthi, was a medical practitioner and a very reputed one in his prime and later on, becomes a celebrated author. After his death, Ahi finds an unpublished manuscript written by Devang Awasthi and she becomes very tempted in publishing it and thus establishing her publishing house for good. But she has had to acquire the permission of his family members to verify the originality of this manuscript and in order to make it an ‘authoritative and substantive’ biography. When she reaches Noida, the home of Devang Awasthi, the circumstances start changing drastically. Not only his biography starts revealing some Very troubling facts but also the behavior of his family members give Ahi enough ammunition to think that everything is not alright about Devang Awasthi’s life and manuscript. She thus starts on an investigating trail and one factor after another leads her to a discovery that she couldn’t have even dreamt of in her wildest nightmare. By the time the novel ends, Ahi finds that everything around her has wore on a face that’s not the truest except for one and that might give Mr. Mukherjee and Ahi an opening into the possibilities of a sequel to this saga.

When I reviewed S.O.A.R, I was so impressed with it that I wrote at that moment that I wouldn’t be surprised if the author scores a movie deal with that book. I am not aware of the current development with SOAR but Abir here has gone one step ahead with his second book. He has, in fact, written the ‘script’ of a fantastic feature film here. The standard of the vocabulary is maintained and it’s startling. Many passages are written in detail here simply for giving you a ‘heady’ feeling of what was going around in that particular scene. Such detailing I have found only in the work of major foreign authors. To be very honest, I am not a fan of them but you gotta give the writer the respect for having that level of imagination to create that scenery. Then he has amped up his efforts while describing the know-hows of medical profession of Devang Awasthi. A casual reader will definitely find it difficult to have a semblance with all the medical terminology but then the writer has tried his best. Mr. Mukherjee’s research work is immaculate and I must compliment him for sticking to the hard work and not opting for short-cuts. A one-third portion of this book could simply have turned out very boring and disconnected but Mr. Mukherjee’s honest work comes to his rescue.

At the end, I must elaborate on its suspense and climax part. The success of a suspense novel/feature film depends totally on the fact that it doesn’t give you anything to sniff at in its opening moments and must lead its readers/viewers into a labyrinthine plot. Here, Mr. Mukherjee doesn’t let you off the hook until you are at its last pages and even at the last one, you will be left thinking. If a book or film leaves you thinking after its run-time, you must commend its maker for doing so. And on this note, I congratulate the writer on successfully attaining his goal.

My rating for this book, just like his last one’s, will be 5/5.

The title of the book " Sin is the New Love" is powerful and once you read the book the story is excellent. I still believe that the cover should have been little more classic and could have improved.. That also brings into light the very old saying "Never Judge a Book by its Cover"

A simple and yet powerful narration. The beautifully narrated plot is an absolute page-turner is every sense.

The plot I should say I liked it very much. Not everyone's cup of tea. But it was actually mine.I just loved the plot and recommend it to fellow readers

I would like to start by applauding Abir Mukherjee for the book in the first place. When it comes to Indian authors we are generally very skeptical. But Abir Mukherjee's Sin is the New Love is a trust building piece. The description unlike many books that I have come along doesn't have spoilers but truly build's up a reader's curiosity that is when I was already sold. The language and editing is satisfactorily polished and well finished. The flow of narration makes the read even more pleasant. Coming to the story :- Just wow!! The language makes the story even more enduring. This is a book definitely worth being read. Generally I run away from books which have the word "Love" in the title but The author through his book has kept his promise of an entertaining read to his readers!!

Sin Is The New Love seems for afar a great romantic thriller but dayum! I did not expect it to be this dark and this good. Hauntingly fabulous.

I will suggest you to go blind into the book with just a warning that it is indeed a dark tale, not so dark that you have to shiver. It has enough light elements that balance things out. And the book has that ending that left expectation for a sequel.

What if I say that I've never read such a spine tingling beginning of any story yet. It was so gripping that I had put myself in Ahi's character on the very first page of the book.
Ahi, the central character of this book has a publication house named, Ankur. She is the pampered, loved and beautiful daughter of Director General of Kolkata Police. Being a bibliophile since childhood, Ahi loves her occupation. She must be an inspiration for the girls who dream about converging their passion and profession. She is an ardent admirer of the author Devang Awasthi, who has committed suicide couple of months ago. She is so much influenced by him that she developed this habit of smoking after reading one of his books. One day she gets a parcel on her desk and sender's name read, Devang Mukherjee. It has autobiography of the sender. Ahi is equally surprised and shocked to get this autobiography after his death. On that day only, she dwells in his autobiography and starts unfolding the pages of his personal life about which the world has no idea. She wants to publish this autobiography now against all the odds and the story tells how she is going to do it all. So, it can be said, this story has an another story within. And to be very honest, I was more thrilled to read that autobiography where Devang Awasthi has revealed dark truths of his helpless, traumatic, and unmothered childhood.
Not to deny that the protagonist, Ahi has a strong character. She believes that she has her own identity. In a world of night clubs and pubs, she nests in her bed reading books till midnight and gets back to her work with same enthusiasm in morning. Her love for books connects me more to her. The special ingredient of this masterpiece is its variety of character. Ahi's childhood best friend, Samim who is a Radio Jockey by profession and helps out Ahi in her publication house as well. Ahi's father who is serving in Kolkata Police with utmost honesty and bravery. It seems like the author had done a lot of prior reaserch about characters.
The very first impression of the book is its cover. Why not judge a book by its cover when the covers itself speaks a deep story? The title of book has it all. The language is beautifully wondrous and intense. The plot is unique and fresh. Way of telling story is spellbinding and spine chilling.
I could feel it again and again that the story is plotted against Kolkata city. Mention of Durga Pooja has added a tincture of reality and not to forget cute yellow taxi and of course heavy rain of Kolkata.
Well, if you're judging this book to be just another romantic novel, then wait. The book has soaked inside the deep dark secrets, the black truths, the untold mysteries, love, hate, brutalness, hope, fear, tears, smiles, and what not. The twist in the plot, oh god, you could not even imagine how it will end.
Even after completing the book, I have this strong hallucination that today also Ahi is sitting on her desk in her publication house and reading a book and when I will visit Kolkata, I will definitely go to her and hug her straight.

'Sin is the new love' happened to be one of those books who took me by surprise. Mysterious storytelling and unexpected twist and turns kept me on the edge of the seat. I read this book in a day, thanks to the engaging storyline which didn't allow me to put the book down.

It tells us the story of 'Ahi', a bibliophile, happy go lucky girl who runs a small publication house in kolkata. Between her parents love, best friend Samim support, her world of books and zest to take her publication house on top she is oblivious to the sinner/dark side of the world. But as they say 'It only takes a moment to change the destiny' and that moment of Ahi is the autobiography of her favourite, recently demise author 'Devang Awasthi' which she found on her office under her name, The autobiography is more like a confession of all his sins and illegal business.
Despite all the warnings from her colleagues Ahi is determined enough to get the manuscript published and on the way she found herself burried deep into the web of lies, mystery, murder, betrayal and sins. Between all these her only ray of hope is the handsome ACP Abhimanyu Rathore.
But, among all the big publication house only Ahi gets the manuscript, especially why it was under her name? Who's the shadow she always felt following her? How she is linked to all these? Who gets murder and most importantly why? And, who's the murderer?

The incredibly well written characters and well developed crime scenes justifying the thrill of the book. Every side characters are also well developed, the big reason why you couldn't able to put the book down. All the Characters and crime scenes are portrayed in realistic way, nothing seems out of the place. I especially love Ahi and Abhimanyu dynamic but I also wish if book had offer more of there chemistry.
Thrilling and adventurous ride the book has it low as well. There will be moments when I had questioned the storyline and found it predictable but I still couldn't begrudge the book that's been this engaging, entertaining and enjoyable. And, in the end the book ends with a hope of second part and if that happens I so wish to read it as soon as its gets out.

"The day we arrive in this world, our journey starts towards our death."

I would like to thank the author for providing me with a review copy.

The book revolves around the life of Ahi Chatterjee, a young girl in her 20s and the daughter of Director General of Kolkata Police, Dhritiman Chatterjee. Ahi owns a Publishing house named Ankur and has only succeeded in publishing a few works of debutant authors. But her life undergoes turmoil when she receives a manuscript from a well-known author Devang Awasthi who committeed suicide a few months back. The pages describe the personal life of Devang Awasthi filled with crimes and confessions. But if Devang Awasthi is dead then who has sent the manuscript? What is his motive behind publishing the autobiography? And why he selected Ahi’s Ankur?

Ahi determined to publish the manuscript visits Devang's family in Delhi to get their consent where she meets ACP Abhimanyu Rathore who knows that something fishy is going on in Awasti Nivas and is on a constant look out for any clue, so he decides to help Ahi in her journey to find out who killed Devang Awasthi. As Ahi keeps reading the autobiography she comes to know about the dark life of the famous author which somehow at the end gets connected to her. She comes to know about hidden truths which shatter her life completely. Will they be able to find the murderer? What truth does Ahi discovers?

The book is an excellent read with an engaging plot and numerous twists which keep you hooked till the end. The writing is crisp and flawless making it a complete page turner. Once you start reading the book it is unputdownable and compels you to finish it in a single sitting. In every page there is a new development which doesn’t let you get bored for a single moment. With a well written plot and captivating characters this book has become one of my favourite reads of 2018. The mystery which the writer has woven deserves great appreciation. I am completely in love with the book and I recommend everyone out there to read it once. You won’t be disappointed.

Review - The Writing style is very good. It's written in a simple way which makes it easy to read. The plot is really good. You can feel the thrill in each and every page, when the truths get revealed one by one. The characters and scenes are created very realistically. The storyline is quite impressive.
But, this book is not at all for beginners or occasional readers. This is really deep, dark, and disturbing. Some scenes are quite disturbing and there're also some intimate scenes which I felt was added unnecessarily.
Overall, it's an amazing book and this is what we call a pure and dark psychological thriller.
I would like to recommend this for adult readers, readers who like to read Indian thrillers and readers who enjoy reading dark psychological thrillers.

"Sin is the new love" is a book full of mystery and thriller. The entire book creates a suspenseful atmosphere for the readers. The story revolves around Ahi, a young girl from Kolkata who also runs a publishing house. She loves to read books and her favourite author is Devang Awasthi. She is an aspiring publisher. The main plot starts when he finds the manuscript of the autobiography of a favourite author Devang Awasthi on her desk. Now the twist is that Devang Awasthi has already committed suicide. Who must have kept it there? A lot of questions will arise in the minds of the readers. Ahi is now in a huge dilemma. On one side, the happiness of getting to publish the autobiography of her favourite author and on the other side knowing that he was dead, disturbed her a lot. Now, a new character is introduced in the story. ACP Abhimanyu who happens to be the investigator of Devang's case. He helps Ahi to come out of her trouble. During the investigation, Ahi discovers a lot about herself. It is very shocking for her to find herself connected to her favourite author's past.

The characters are so well written. I could find myself in each of the characters especially Ahi. And, I almost had a crush on ACP Abhimanyu😳❤. This was total roller coaster ride for me. I could not put this book down. The language was so transparent and comprehensive. This is is the perfect thriller that you would want to go for if you love reading mysteries and thrillers.

Sin Is The New Love by Abir Mukherjee!

Blurb-
Ahi is an aspiring publisher and wishes to make it big someday. When her favourite author’s autobiography lands on her table – which has confessions of his heinous crimes, illegal businesses and few eminent others as his partners in crime – she doesn’t know if it’s real or someone’s trap. It could get her a big breakthrough, but little does she know that it would turn her world upside down completely.
Her morbid curiosity pulls her into the depth of a conspiracy. She finds herself in the centre of various mishaps and murders, as if someone wants to lead the way. Driven by her childhood friend Samim’s encouragement, and watched over by the ever so charming ACP Rathore, she has to jeopardize her life to find the brutal truth of her past.

My review-
Can I just say that the title & the cover pulled me in faster than any other book out there had. It was so easy to relate to the protagonist because she's a bookworm herself & she now runs her own publishing house. Like come on didn't that give off every bookworms dream job right there. So the book progresses from its stationary state to the fast paced book that it is because of the unfinished autobiography that lands in her lap at her publishing house. There starts her journey to find answers & ends in the book that we read.

The author has done a really commendable job on keeping the author hooked right from the start. It was an interesting way to spend the evening. Definitely kept me on my toes. Don't think too much & just jump right into the book. You will love it!

Sin is the new love is a literary crime novel that demands your full attention. You will be richly rewarded for your efforts. Once they reached the rising action, it was hard to put down. The word choice Abir Mukherjee puts into each and every paragraph truly justifies the situations of this man's perspective. While reading, I felt as if I was being told a story by someone close to the main character about this man's adventures and tales. The ending of this book is sure to be remembered. This book is perfect for anyone who loves a good puzzle or even just a good story , you get so involved in the mystery, and the characters. The characters are well rounded and feel realistic, and the plot is amazing! If your looking for a good book to really make you think check this one out! It really draws you in. It is a masterfully crafted thriller that strings together webs and webs of suspense through character development and wit. The author does an incredible job of building up his characters and leaving room for the reader to question certain decisions and traits. The way the author ties everything together for an eventual climax will leave the reader on the edge of their seat, especially when the build-up leads to a nail-biting cliffhanger. The setting is also beautifully used to expand on both the plot and scenic writing in general, as the author clearly knows the terrain and all of its attributes. Overall, I would recommend this novel to anyone who loves a good thriller.

Power bomb of thriller

Ambition burdens every eye. It's never let it to sleep.
But if your ambition turns as SIN, do you curse your destiny or yourself?
If that sin turns your life jeopardize, what would you do? Do you ditch yourself?
With the jeopardise, how do you catch the light for your escape?
This is tricky and cobwebs. where and what is the end?
With all the suspense the protagonist Ahi is also running throughout this novel. She is an aspiring publisher, who is trying to bring her publishing house as best. Unfortunately, she has found out the autobiography of her favourite author. That autobiography is as like as the FIR of his illegal business, heinous crimes and about his crime partners. Her ambition makes her grab that book. she hasn't done anything. This hunts her. Turns her life into hell.
What is in the book?
Who is the writer-in crime?
What happens to Ahi?
To know the suspense and thrilling twist and turns of the Ahi's life grab this praiseworthy and worth of the reading book.

Even the cover page indicates the muddling situation of Ahi. The narration of the story is awestruck. This book has hooked me to eat it in a take. Characterization is well described. Characters are distinctive personalities. The author's aspect of the commentary reveals through the qualities of the major characters. Intriguing plot construction thrills you on every page. Overall this is a great suspense thriller.

I recommend this book to all
