If you seen my reviews then you know how much I love this author’s books. If there’s one being released by her then I waste no time in preordering it.
But it’s with sadness that I say this, her plots are starting to get old for me at least.
Please don’t let my review stop you from reading it.

1. The heroine always is the one getting hurt.
2. There’s always someone stalking, trying to murder the heroine.
3. There’s always a female cop who gets kidnapped and murdered.
4. Hero always lies, manipulates and uses the heroine for his own gain.
5. There’s almost little or no grovel from the hero’s side. Because let’s face he always fuck up and heroine always forgives him quick.
6. There’s always and I mean always someone who’s innocent being blamed for the murders.
7. There’s always someone being murdered because of the heroine.
8. You always know who’s the killer, it’s very rare if you get surprised.
9. There’s always a cop who’s an ass.

One thing that always bother me is the heroine has questions like this heroine did, she wanted to know if hero made a habit of sleeping with other women while undercover. Did she ask the hero? Nope, she doesn’t! She quickly forgot to ask him. He does mention to her that he had a ONS in the previous book with a woman that was murdered. So I went back to check that book. He was shaken when he saw that woman dead. He said that he didn’t cared about her but she was a good woman, it must have been one hell of an ONS because he knew she had dreams and plans for the future.

Will I still continue buying and reading her books? Yes, because CE is one of the few author who always gives me an experienced heroine who’d enjoyed sex before meeting the hero.

4.5 - "Even liars can tell the truth sometimes..." Stars!

As soon as I finished Don’t Trust A Killer I was desperate for Cynthia to give Remy his own book. Thankfully she has and book two in the Dark Sins series; Don’t Love A Liar gives us that, all wrapped in a heart-stopping, adrenaline pumping story-line.

"I’ve wanted you from the beginning. And the desire I feel has nothing to do with the job…"

Kennedy Clarke is a woman on the edge, seemingly living a perfect life, with wealth, health and happiness. That all comes grinding to a halt when her twin brothers fiancée is murdered by the Broken Doll Killer and her brother Kyle is suspected of the murder as well as a number of others. With Kyle missing, the spotlight falls on her, and not in a good way.

"Women are dead… And you are right in the middle of everything."

Remy happens to be in the right place at the right time, and what initially starts as a P.I./Client relationship soon morphs into more. But all is not on the up-and-up when it comes to the story Remy has spun to make himself indispensable to Kennedy, and as that starts to unravel between them, it’s also clear the killer has set his sights on Kennedy, which turns Remy all uber-alpha.

"I want you safe. I want you happy. I want a chance with you. A chance for you to know the man I can be…"

This book had so many twists, turns, shocks and surprises that I almost had whip lash at the end. Cynthia took the plot and ran with it in many directions, I loved it because at the end they all tied back up together, and it wasn’t until the big reveal that I had an inkling as to who was actually the villain.

The case had just taken a turn he hadn’t expected…

A really enjoyable read, it was good to spend a little more time with Kace Quick as well, and I hope against hope that the author now gives Kyle Clarke a book, there is definitely more to his story.

"I will keep you safe.."

Remy St. Clair, FBI agent undercover tasked to get close to Kennedy Clarke. Remy is known to do anything he can to solve a case. Getting close to a beautiful woman will be easy, except he didn't plan on falling for her.

Kennedy Clarke, twin sister to a man who everyone is accusing of being the broken doll killer. She knows her brother is innocent. Finding someone willing to help her clear his name hasn't been easy until she meets Remy. What she doesn't know is that he isn't who she thinks he is.

If you have read Don't Trust A Killer, then you have already met Remy when he was an undercover agent trying to find evidence against Kace. Kace was a club owner accused of being a crime lord. Remy is used to leading a double life and thought Kennedy would be just another case.

Once again the author did a fabulous job of leading the reader on a merry chase to find a killer. It was never clear who was really behind the killings and she showcased a few people who it could be. I like that she made us work for the answer. I must admit I was still switching my choice all the way up to the end.

Even though Remy was lying to Kennedy about who he was, his feelings for her were very, real. We got to see these two as a couple early on and Remy was very protective on her. Kennedy was a sweet character. She loves her brother and just wanted to clear his name.

I'm pretty curious who will be the next couple in the series and what new suspense the author will bring us. Maybe FBI Agent Joshua?

Oh man! This book had me on the edge the whole time. I switched from one suspect to another and back again. Yeah, at one point I had it right but I didn’t KNOW if I was right until the very end. Add in all the romance, the steam and a bit of relationship angst and holy heck! It was perfect!

Kennedy was a heroine who is fragile and broken. Her past has not been kind to her in any aspect of her life. Now she’s the center of speculation and gossip. Her home is a cold isolated place that offers no comfort or peace from her troubles. And then, in one moment, across a ball room, she meets the eyes of a stranger. While that might seem a tad overdone in romance, what follows is far from your average romantic development.

Remy lives a life of lies. It’s what he does because he’s so good at it. It is imperative that he find an “in” with his next target. Women are dying and she is the key to finding the man responsible. However, he was not expecting to feel such a rush of desire when her eyes meets his. And he definitely wasn’t expecting to feel so protective of her.

I absolutely LOVED Remy and Kennedy. Remy was completely swoon worthy as emotions he didn’t know he possessed rise up to choke him. There were moments that my own breath caught as he processed what his feelings toward Kennedy were. Even when he didn’t understand them himself, he never wavered from his need to protect her. Gah! I loved every moment in his head!

While Kennedy initially appeared weak, ultimately, she is a survivor. As this story played out I realized that she was actually the strongest of them all. Her actions are anything but weak and I loved how her character builds throughout the book.

This is a fast paced read with incredible secondary characters. Some have already had their story told and others I’m hoping for more. The chemistry between Remy and Kennedy is intense and while there is some angst between them at one point, it isn’t the focus of the story and it doesn’t last long. While this doesn’t have an official epilogue, it has an amazing ending that brought a lump to my throat even as it left me with a smile on my face.

This is definitely a book I’ll recommend again and again.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A Comfy 3.5 STARS

Cynthia Eden is one author I thoroughly enjoy and have more than a few of her books that I re-read.

This second book in the Dark Sins Series is an enjoyable read and I do not regret reading it, however there are certain tropes/features that Eden has used a fair bit elsewhere that re-emerged here, such as:
- a innocent being blamed for horrible crimes
- a real jerk of a cop
- the heroine facing a particular type of danger/harassment
- the hero being deceptive and not having to do much to be forgiven.

Overall, for me there was nothing new.

Not a fan of the hero. He's probably one of the worst ones I've read from this author since she upped her game and started writing awesome books.

I'm thinking this was written by someone else. Has to be...

This was another good romantic suspense by Cynthia Eden, although I didn't love it the way I did the first in this series. Probably because for about 50% of the book Remy was lying to Kennedy about who he really was, even if he did feel awful about it. I think that kind of put a damper on really loving the book. Also, I was pretty sure of the killer and was proved right.

Still, a good suspense book.

Oh and my faves from the first book were in this one obviously. I always love a reference to a fave couple:

And Bree very much belonged to Kace. She’d entered the club determined to take down Kace. She’d left the club owning the guy’s heart and what was left of his soul.

Some things to show Remy in a better light:

“I hated lying. You bared your soul to me, and I felt like shit.” Remy shook his head. “It’s not happening again. If you believe nothing else, believe that I can keep you safe. I will guard you and your brother. I will not let this bastard get close to you.”

Remy pulled his mouth from hers. Put his forehead against Kennedy’s. “Not everything was a lie.”

Remy was staring at her. His expression—it was so tender. So… Filled with longing.

Ok I admit I'm more of a paranormal buff but I'm increasingly reading books that take me away from my comfort zone and romantic suspense certainly does that. Having read the first book in this series Don't Trust a Killer I was very intrigued to find out what would happen next to Remy the agent with a penchant for going undercover. I wasn't sure how I felt about him but this story brought him blazing into life in unexpected ways.
Right from the start the characters and their intense emotions practically boil off the page. Remy sees Kennedy and its Christmas, New Year and every other loud heart stopping celebration you can think of. If I say he's attracted then believe me I am positively understating how intense it felt. Now luckily it's pretty obvious that Kennedy responds to him but with so much going on in her life Kennedy isn't really looking for any entanglements . However an investigator could actually be exactly what she's needs as she's desperate to find her brother but is Remy really on her side ?
I loved that the author took this story and let it run in so many directions. Some things seem so obvious and then just when the reader gets complacent bam there's a whole new twist. I had a creeping suspicion but even I was surprised as the ending rolled around. I relished seeing previous characters pop in and feel sure that there's several here that could still have their own story to tell. For now though it's all about Remy finding his own little piece of heaven and that's clearly home with Kennedy.
This voluntary take is of an advance copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair.

The second book in the Dark Sins series by Cynthia Eden. Kennedy Clarke is the twin sister of a man suspected of being a serial killer and Remy St. Clair, FBI, is sent in undercover to see what she knows. But instead of the cold-hearted woman he expects, Kennedy is just barely holding it together. She knows her brother is innocent but can't explain how.

I know what I am getting from Ms. Eden and that is great in my opinion. When I see one of her books come out I don't hesitate to purchase it.

Review posted on Got Fiction?

I've been wanting to read this book for a while, and since I'm a mood reader, I was in the mood for a good Romantic Suspense so I bought this book. I love a good betrayal plot and I was not disappointed.

Kennedy is the twin sister to America's Most Wanted, Kyle. The FBI thinks Kyle is a serial killer, and they think Kennedy is hiding him. However, Kennedy has cooperated with law enforcement, and they aren't finding anything. Enter Remy.

Remy St. Clair was in the last book Don't Trust a Killer and he's an FBI agent who is basically a chameleon when he goes undercover. This time around, his mission is Kennedy. He's got to gain Kennedy's trust and get her to spill her secrets. The problem is that her secrets may not be what he thinks.

Kennedy has spent her whole life holding her family's secrets close to the vest, but for the first time in her life, she's willing to share them with someone else. Remy isn't just the PI she's hired to help her find her missing brother, but he's the man she's falling for. But what happens when she finds out Remy isn't who she thinks he is?

This book was intense, and definitely had me guessing, but let's talk betrayal! I love seeing how an author redeems a character once he or she has completely betrayed the trust of another. And wow! I sometimes want to see a character grovel, I sometimes want to see a character make some huge offer, but with this book, I genuinely didn't know what I wanted to see from Remy. I knew the grand gesture would have to be big, but I was surprised with what he said and did (in a good way!). Remy was a great hero, and I loved Kennedy, a woman at the end of her rope, barely holding it together, and yet still able to stay strong and do what needs to be done.

Cynthia Eden is the master (mistress?) of Romantic Suspense. Her books never fail to keep me on the edge of my seat, and she never disappoints in the character department. She has well-rounded characters who feel real, the reactions they have feel real, and they seem like someone you might know. They handle amazing situations, against all odds, and when they get their HEA, you feel they deserve it. You want them to be happy, and when they finally are, you're happy for them.

Not only was this a 5 star book for me, but I went back through and re-read it because I wasn't quite ready to leave Remy and Kennedy just yet. Grab this one, guys, you won't regret it!

I don't know what I was expecting but I sure wasn't expecting this! It literally left me on the edge of my seat. An action pack, drama-filled romance that blew me away with not only the characters, the storyline and overall writing style.

Trying to find the serial killer has Remy hands full but when he assigned as Kennedy "P.I", he finds himself catching feelings and romance ensues. Definitely a must read!

Kennedy is rich and her twin brother is considered a monster. He is suspected of being the Broken Doll killer. They pulled his car out of the Mississippi but don’t know if he’s dead or hiding. Remy needs to get close to her to find out if she’s hiding her brother. He says he’s a private investigator and will help or find her brother or prove his innocence. When they figure out she’s the one the killer is really after, Remy will do anything to keep her safe. He’s tired of the lies especially if he could lose the woman he has ever loved.
This is a super awesome story. It will leave you breathless and hanging on to the edge of your seat. Sexy, suspense and fast paced action. I received this from BookFunnel and voluntarily read and reviewed it.

Remy StClair has been a lot of things, a criminal a thief and a liar. Now he has to get close to Kennedy Clarke. People think Kennedy’s brother Kyle is a serial killer. He has disappeared but officials think Kennedy may know more than she is telling. There is an immediate attraction between Remy and Kennedy when they meet, but Kennedy isn’t quite what Remy is expecting. The more time he spends with her the deeper he becomes personally involved. When his job is over and Kennedy finds out the truth will he lose her. This is a good suspense book with lots of twists and turns. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy. I hope to read more books by this author.

I liked it the way you like seeing a movie you loved for the 3rd time. It is confortable, you know you are going to have a great time and enjoy the ride.

Had I read this book before? Not at all, but it has all the usual from this author, so it feels like I did.

To put it simply , the plot is as usual :
-H is manipulative for a good reason
-H feels guilt but has to deceive/hurt the h feelings
-h is riddled with self doubt, and falls for the H, then regrets it
- then the vilain does something « vilain-y » and the h’s life is in danger, the H saves the day but gets hurt in the process, the h realises she loves him despite the deception, the H survives and Bam, HEA!

After the flop of the first book of this serie i was a bit affraid ... but i actually couldn't put it down !!
The intrigue was good and kept me on my toes, even if i had strong suspicions it was done well with a few twist and turns.
But i didn't believe in the love story it was too fast and just not fit...
The end was also rushed and i Feel like all the questions were not answered...
Overall the same classic recipe of CE but the story was better than the last.

There’s no words to describe how great this book is. I’m still trying to catch my breath, I stayed on edge the whole time and my heart didn’t stop racing. Who is the killer? I was shocked at the end. Loved how Kennedy instantly fell for Remy . But they both have secrets. Can they trust each other? I was so heartbroken at one point for both of them. So many twists and I couldn’t stop reading until I finished. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy and I highly recommend this book.

Kennedy Clark is the town's bad girl, well that's her reputation anyway. Everyone believes her twin brother Kyle is a serial killer and is responsible for killing his fiance. Kennedy is doing everything she knows to find him and prove his innocence, even hiring a PI that she knows nothing about.

Remy St, Clair can be anything that he needs to be for his job, a criminal, thief, mob boss, killer, etc... Its all he knows since his parents were murdered. Remy is called in when cases are going no where and is a secret weapon for the FBI until he meets Kennedy.

Kennedy has been questioned by the cops so many times that she knows they will not help her because they believe that she is helping her brother or hiding him. They refuse to believe anything else. When Remy starts getting close to Kennedy she lets some of her secrets out and because she thinks she can trust him, only he takes that information and goes to the FBI hating his job the whole time.

As Remy and Kennedy grow closer, he hates lying to her and promises to tell her the truth once they find her brother, only he doesn't get the chance, she figures it out on her own and she automaticallly believes she can't trust him... only he's fallen in love with her and will do anything to prove it to her.

One thing I always know to do is not read a Cynthia Eden book in the dark, but this one I took the chance, granted I had bad dreams but it was so worth it. Don't Love A Liar was everything Cynthia promises you when you enter a world she creates and much more. Remy and Kennedy's story was twisted and pulls you in. It doesn't matter if you think you know where the story is taking you it throws you for so many more turns and the ending to this book is no different. I thought I had the killer figured out .... nope it was totally unexpected.

Thanks to the author for providing a copy of this book vIa Cocktails and Books and Netgalley. The opinions expressed are my own.

I love everything Cynthia Eden writes; she knows how to write engaging, suspenseful stories with hot romance added to the mix. I was riveted to her newest book, DON’T LOVE A LIAR. It is a fast paced, engaging story with characters that are easy to connect with and they have a lot of chemistry sparking between them. This is the second book in The Dark Sins series and each book is a stand alone.

The setting for this story takes place in New Orleans and the two main characters are Kennedy and Remy. Kennedy is a socialite and Remy is an FBI agent trying to get close to Kennedy to discover her secrets. What neither of them expects, is the immediate attraction they feel for each other. Kennedy is a beautiful, rich and smart woman and she and her twin brother are still trying to come to overcome their horrible childhood. It is believed Kennedy’s brother murdered his fiancé and then he disappeared.

Remy is trying to help Kennedy find her brother but there are many pieces to this intriguing puzzle. There is a serial killer out there and Remy needs to find him before he kills again. Remy has never been interested in a relationship, until he meets Kennedy. She is like a breath of fresh air and her kind and caring attitude is not what Remy expects.

Kennedy and Remy form a close bond as they work together trying to keep Kennedy safe and figure out who is killing women. This story had so many twists and turns and kept me guessing how everything would end. Remy and Kennedy have a powerful attraction and find it impossible to stay away from one another. Unfortunately, they both have secrets they are afraid to share with anyone. You don’t want to miss this intriguing story.

He’s been a criminal, a thief, and a killer. He’s the hero who rushes in to save to day and he does whatever it takes to save the day. Don’t Love a Liar ignites passions but also lots of emotions from readers as they try to decide whether Kennedy should trust this man, love this man or kick him to the curb. The characters are strong, vivid and readers easily connect to them as they try to decide who to trust. The romance between these two sizzle with lots of chemistry and has sparks flying as the pages heat up but this relationship has a big obstacle – Kennedy is a suspect and Remy is there to get the truth. Lots of emotional turmoil adds depth to these characters bringing them to vibrant life and ensuring that readers are ensnared by their story.

The fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps readers biting their nails in anticipation of what will happen next as danger comes calling and Kennedy becomes caught in a tangled web of secrets and lies. Surprising twists ensure that readers can’t be sure of the just who is behind the killings until the very end. Once again, the author brings her story to life with well written words that paint brilliant images that make it easy for the reader to imagine and really get a feel for the characters and their emotions in this stirring romantic suspense.

This is the second book in this series and after reading Don't love a Killer I couldn't wait for Remy's story

Kennedy Clarke's life is crashing down around her Her twin brother Kyle is suspected of been the broken doll killer in fact his fiancee isone of the victims. This new series by Cynthia Eden are amazing stories with a twist on titles. Don’t take for granted early in in the reading of these stories that you know who the title is truly targeting. In Don't Love A Liar, there is a man who would surely describe himself as a chameleon. He may seem like the villain in his own eyes, but the reader knows better.

This series has characters who defy the regular roles usually seen in romances, making them such interesting people, especially Remy and Kennedy. Then the intrigue is complex so that you are right there with the characters trying to solve it as they do. This leads to the twists and turns that neither they nor you saw coming. A top-notched romantic suspense.

An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
