Instead of this being the second book in a series, I feel it makes more sense to consider it ‘Part II’ of a single incomplete book of which the author releases spaced out.
Reason for that thought: I enjoyed ‘book 1’ but do feel kind of cheated. Most the book was just her being courted. Pure buildup, no climax. (I mean.. Morgaine *definitely* climaxed... but the story didn’t)
It was like reading an extremely extended teaser.
HOWEVER! SimmySim is probably my favorite character out of all the characters in all the Addison books I’ve read. I’m looking forward to more of his candid dialogue and goofy grins. I’m also hoping for some Nierra retribution. I already have my own headcannon on how that’s going to play out and am half tempted to fan-fic this shit just to scratch an itch. Wanna see some of that sweet Etti girls psychological warfare at play. 😈
