This wasn't a bad book. There were some useful tips, each tip was succinct and did not go on too much, but I feel this book is a lot more targeted to city dwellers, as well as having a pretty big focus on addressing British citizens more than a global perspective. By this I mean the tips seemed to focus on a cultural landscape that matches that of Great Britian, as many seem they would not apply in other parts of the world, especially the U.S. and non-European countries.
Some of the tips also talked about car sharing, taking public transport, and vacationing close to home, none of which apply to me in the part of Florida I live in, and would not apply in other rural parts of the U.S. either.
The concept is not bad, I just wish it had had a more global perspective.

I do seem to be on rather a bit of a kick at the moment with these green books, but you see, I’m looking for something in them (haven’t found it yet- I’ll let you know when I do). This one was a simply illustrated guide to making your life a little greener, and has quite a few solid suggestions that other books on the market seem to be lacking. There’s not as much in-depth discussion, but simple statistics and switches are laid out for the reader, and you can pick and choose what may be most practical to implement in your everyday life. A handy little guide to making more of a difference to the planet- but nothing too special.

"You have more power than you think - both as a consumer and a citizen - so don't accept any limitations you find in what you can do to help the planet"

Who better to give advice on being greener than Sian Berry, Green member of the London Assembly and Co-Leader of the Green Party?

Really good quick read and lots of useful tips. I particularly found the home and garden stuff useful and interesting!

An okay book, very literally covering 50 ideas to reduce your emissions & such across various aspects of modern life; gardening, energy use, travel, food, etc.

Doesn't go massively in depth on the suggestions though, and most - if not all - will be repeat ideas for people that give a damn about the environment anyway; reducing plastic use, shopping locally, reducing long distance travel, reducing consumption, eating less meat, etc.

I bought this book as a gift for my daughter’s 8th grade graduation. She wasn’t interested in reading it, so I did. It’s a wonderful book with very specific and concise ideas about how to contribute to helping the environment and planet through everyday actions. The illustrations are wonderful and it is overall a very delightful book. Highly recommended.
