This is the first book in the Walker Brothers series. After the recent death of their mother, each of the Walker siblings have been tasked by their mother to follow their childhood dreams. Chase told his mother he would become a lawyer and a rock star. Well he became a lawyer but he hasn't picked up a guitar in years. So when he goes to start lessons he meets Erin. Erin in a struggling musician by night and a sales clerk by day. Her evening persona is much more daring but somehow Chase sees the real Erin even though she doesn't think anyone has ever seen the real Erin. This was an enjoyable contemporary romance with just the right amount of heat. I definitely look forward to the next walker brother as he goes for his childhood dream.
I VOLUNTARILY REVIEWED AN ADVANCE READER COPY OF THIS BOOK.
This is a sweet love story between Chance, the first of the Walker Brothers to get his story, and Erin, a music teacher by day and singer by night. They each have some emotional baggage to sort through, and it's heartwarming to see them find their way together. The chemistry is great, and their romance is delightful. There's quite a lot of emotional depth to these characters, and the trials they encounter are believable and well-developed. It's a wonderful book and I'm looking forward to reading the remaining books in the series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book through Booksprout.
Oh, where to begin! Do you ever read a story and then want to tell all your book friends to stop whatever they are doing immediately and read this book? Yeah? Well, that was me after finishing this book.
This story poses the question of what are we willing to do for love? What sacrifices will we make not just to keep that love but also to set it free?
Chance and his brothers are still dealing with the recent loss of their beloved mother when they get an unusual request from beyond the grave. Not wanting to let his mom down, even after she’s gone, lawyer Chance sets about realising the dreams of his ten-year-old self; becoming a rock star. Chance enlists the help of Erin Michaelson to teach him guitar and is instantly attracted to her. Unsure if his advances will be spurned he decides to bide his time for the perfect moment to ask her out.
Yet, he is knocked of his feet when on a night out with his brothers he finds Erin fronting a local up and coming band as her sexy alter ego, Eva James. On the cusp of hitting the big time and dealing with a wayward brother and her band mates, Erin doesn’t need the added complication of a man like Chance thrown in the mix.
However, some things can’t be denied. Chance is unwilling to walk away from Erin even if the time they have is limited. He won’t stand in the way of what she’s worked for but will savour every moment he can get. The heat these two generate…. phew!
This was the first work I’ve read by Amanda Adams and it won’t be my last. I was completely swept away her storytelling and felt every emotion with the characters as if I was really there.
My heart hurt for everything Erin had endured as a child. She finds herself being more of a mother to her brother, AJ, and has to wake up to the fact she is enabling him more than helping. Now she has the opportunity to follow her dreams, but what about Chance?
Chance on the other hand had his life all perfectly planned out but I think the old adage of ‘Mother Knows Best’ comes in to play. His mom’s request may just be the wakeup call he needs….
You get all the feels with this story. I can’t wait to read the rest of the Walker brothers’ stories and I’m calling dibs on Derek #justsayin
One quote resonated with me from the story:
“But we either focus on our past, or we choose to create a different life.”
I couldn’t have put it better myself. You need to one-click this book today!
Crash and Burn is a good start to a new series about 4 adopted brothers, the Walker Brothers. First up is Chase. All the brothers have been called into their deceased mother's lawyer's office. He has messages for them from their mother. Each receives an envelope with something they wrote long ago - wishes that each wrote when they were children. And now their mother is asking them from beyond the grave to go out and achieve what they had written down. So off Chase goes to fulfill one of his wishes - to become a rock star. But, to do that he has to brush up on his guitar skills. It's through this he will meet The One - Erin, his new guitar teacher, who doubles as sexy up and coming star, Eva James with her band Fourth Strike.
I immediately connected with Chase. It was easy to - he's sweet, he's sexy and he falls head over heels when he meets Erin. That Eva is also Erin is just a bonus as far as he's concerned. I had a harder time connecting to Erin. I admired her independence (although not her codependence with her obnoxious brother, AJ) and her drive, but she was pretty annoying and too much in her head for most of the story. Chase was more than enough, though, to make up for any dislike I had for Erin, and the story itself was sexy and entertaining. Can't wait to dive into Jake's story next (Alone With You).

This tells the story of Chance when his mum dies and after six weeks he and his brothers have to open an envelope each. Chance's is a letter he wrote as a child stating how he wanted to grow up to be a rock star. His mum always encouraged him but he took the sensible route in his career and became a lawyer instead. He decides that he must get a guitar and learn how to play it for his mum. By doing so he meets Erin and he asks her to teach him how to play his guitar. Erin is leading a double life - a sensible job during the day to pay for the necessities in life and to try and keep her younger brother, AJ, on the straight and narrow, whilst also "becoming" Eva at night and at weekends to play with her band. This story is a wonderful read with some twists and all the emotions that you can think of. The chemistry between Erin and Chance is off the charts and they are so good together, but can they make it for the long run? Time is so precious and Chance wants to see where they can go together but Erin's second life could be about to make it big. I am looking forward to meeting his brothers better and reading their HEAs too. Amanda Adams has penned a winning story here and I think this is going to be one of the must read books of the year. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED.
Crash and Burn by Amanda Adams is the first book in The Walker Brothers Series. Crash and Burn is a contemporary romance full-length novel. Meet Chance Walker. He´s back in town to meet with his brothers Derek, Jake and Mitchell. And there is Erin Michaelson. She seems to be a shy sales assistant- or? Erin turns his world upside down. They are two people with different goals in life. Can they make it work? But this book has more, much more. There is drama, violence, dreams and love, great and beautiful love. I really really love this new series. I love the characters and I love Amanda Adams´ writing. I laughed, I cried and I suffered with the characters. And now I can´t wait till the next installment. 5 Stars and Thank you Amanda Adams!
I really enjoyed Chance and Erin's story. They are two complete opposites and yet they are so very similar. These two meet almost by accident and are drawn to each other. Their lives are going in opposite directions and yet they need to be together. Erin reluctantly walks away to live her dream leaving Chance behind and heartbroken. The Walker brothers step in to give Chance a push and soon he is doing what he should have done and not taking no for an answer, following his love into their future. This is a great first book and I look forward to reading the next Walker Brother story.
After the death of their mother the four Walker brothers are convened at their mother’s attorney’s request to watch a video of their mother that she taped years ago and to hand each boy a card they made on her birthday. On each card each boy wrote what their dreams were and the video she asked them to forget their childhood dreams. Once Chance hears his mother’s request and sees the card he knows he is screwed.
Chance meets shy Erin Michaelson at the music store she works at when he starts the journey of one of his childhood dreams. Erin’s dream is to make it big in the music world and she may have her chance when the band she plays in at local venues will be scoped out by a big label in a week, as her alter ego Eva James. Chance likes what he sees in Erin as herself, but Erin thinks he only likes her bold alter ego Eva James after he sees her on stage. Will Chance be able to convince Erin he is falling for HER and not Eva James.
Crash and Burn is the first book in Amanda Adams The Walker Brother’s Series, four brothers, Derek, Mitchell, Chance & Jake, adopted by a very special lady and loved them as any mother could. Crash and Burn is Chance’s story and what a way to start a series, Amanda Adams has me hooked to see what the other three brother’s childhood dreams will be. Chance and Erin was a delight to read about. Watching Erin come out of her shell without her alter ego Eva under Chance care was such a delight to watch. The chemistry between Chance and Eva all I can say is wow. I truly loved the scenes with the brothers the had me laughing as they tormented each other like brothers do.
If you are looking for an weekend read I recommend you pick up a copy of Crash and Burn and got hook like I am to see what is in store for Derek, Mitchell & Jake, since Chance has already has the girl and two of his childhood dreams.

Crash and Burn by Amanda Adams
Welcome to the world of the mysterious and devilishly hunky Walker Brothers. Well known author Amanda Adams brings her prolific talent back to the the page with Crash and Burn. The first in a steamy new series to bring your pulse passionate boil. Chase Walker must step to the promise he made as an awkward eleven year old to his mother. He must pick up the guitar again. To do it though, he has to take lessons for the, sexy buy mousey Erin Michaelson. Once he goes, however, he senses there is something a little bit more to her. Chase and his brothers are at the local bar waiting for the popular band Fourth Strike to take the stage. When they do, who does he see as the singer Eva James? None other than his guitar teacher, the mousey Erin. All dressed up like a sex kitten. The evening can only end in a backstage kiss many readers dream of. Erin battles with her which person to be. The sex kitten on stage, or the one that has battled to get to where she is. Chase battles is this is the woman for him. Each page, each word paints a scene steamy that leaves images ingrained in your mind! What an amazing start to a new series!

One of the things that’s a bit of a pet peeve is when the female lead goes on and on about how hot the guy is. I start losing interest in the story quickly and start flipping through pages to get to some dialogue to see if once the two leads start communicating the female lead can actually hold an intelligent conversation or is she still going on about how hot the guy is. Luckily the author moved on from that so over done female can’t think straight must make a fool of herself in front of the “hot guy” after a while. It was also nice to see the male lead having some insecure moments as he tried to figure out if the female lead was attracted to him or not. The mutual insecurity on both of their parts made them on equal footing to me.
Chance is following the last wishes of his recently passed adopted mother, by taking guitar lessons to pursue a “When I Grow Up” dream he made when he was a young child. Chance is an up and coming civil lawyer. He has a somewhat everything in its place set of mental rules that he has been following for most of his adult life. Taking this detour to pursue an old childhood dream is putting him in on an unchartered path.
Erin/Eva is a mild mannered music store clerk during the day and a sexy front singer for a rock back at night. Erin has a dream to make it in the music industry and she is pursuing her dream with a lot of determination. While she would like some male attention her main focus is breaking into the big leagues and making all of her sacrifices worthwhile. When she is in her Eva persona she is more confident with a take-charge attitude.
After one of her performances at a local bar Erin/Eva runs into Chance during a break. Earlier while Chance was getting a private lesson at the music store from Erin/Eva there seemed to be moments of chemistry. They both decided to take a risk and test the waters with a lets put it all out there kiss. Sparks seemed to have happened for both of them.
While I’m glad they didn’t rush into sex on the first date, some of the follow up dates felt very repetitive and drawn out before any real connection was made. There seemed to be a lot of inner dialogue with each character admitting to a mutual attraction but some of the intensity was missing from their actual interaction with each other.
What worked for me with this story, both characters had flaws. Both had strong drives to succeed and become better than their pasts. The female lead and supporting female lead were good friends and not catty women. Chance having a band of brothers as a good support system. Both willing to take a risk even if it was only short term.
What sort of dimmed the heat for me, I know brothers banter back and forth and that there are put downs and a lot of machismo to go around. The brothers constantly interacting this way made them not as dimensional as I think they probably are.
A little too much inner dialogue build up that could have lead to some steamy passion instead turned into easily glossed over intimacy, and predictable story wrap up. This story had the potential for a lot more I feel. While it was not terrible it just seemed to be missing something.

So when I saw this on BookSprout, I wanted to get it to see as to why Chance was doing this childhood promise and where it would lead. I ended on the same damn rollercoaster he did with Erin/Eva. Erin becomes his music teacher and teaches him guitar lessons but later he finds out that she is in a band and has a sexy seductive voice with a persona named Eva onstage. They have this connection and chemistry that is there whether she is Erin or Eva but she doesn't want to admit that and is in denial and it drives both the reader, their hearts, and libidos insane.
For the for most of the book I didn't know if I wanted to laugh, yell or cry. I was just all over the place, really. I think I was off my rocker just as much as they were because I didn't know if they were going to end up together and I was like "you are being so damn stupid right now!!" There were so many twists and turns in the book , I kept waiting for someone to say " you have reached your destination" but then another twist would come and I'd be like what? Didn't see that coming...
Okay so there were some dark themes in this book as well that made it more real. That included violence, drugs, alcohol abuse etc. Some things were hinted at like possibly prostitution and gangs (drug dealers). Or at least that is what I got from it. I think these parts of the book just made it more real and lifelike. This is what happens in the background of the music industry so I don't see why it wouldn't be in this story. I was happy it was in there. It shows what path some musicians take, albeit the wrong one, but it is one of the paths. Let's get real, some regular joes do this too sometimes not just in the music industry. I like that Adams is writing about this. It is good to show awareness along with the romance. Bravo, my friend, bravo.
I loved this book so I am giving it the 5 stars it deserves.
I voluntarily read an arc via Booksprout for a fair and honest review. As you will find with all of the Walker Brothers series each book begins six weeks after their adopted mother's death. The family attorney has gathered all of the men together to view a videotape of their mother with instructions for each of them to read the contents of the envelopes she has left for them. Erin Michaelson experienced insta lust when Chance Walker walked into her store. While her alter-ego begged to be let free, sweet, albeit nerdy Erin kept her well hidden. She just wished she could approach this man as just plain Erin. Erin was a song writer with a case of writer's block. It doesn't take Chance long to really see Erin, and his fantasizing begins. While at a bar one night with his brothers Chance got the wind knocked out of him by the bands lead singer, Eva James. He instantly recognized his new guitar teacher sweet, shy Erin. Erin has a train wreck of a brother she enables and when her bands big break comes along, the record label only wants her. We also find out that Erin is a recovering alcoholic. The recoding contract comes with a caveat that she move to L.A. for a year. Earlier in the book, Derek warned Chance that Erin was career driven and could not be the type of wife and mother Chance always dreamed of. One of their lives must do a 180degree if the have any chance of staying together.

A well written story. The first in the series about the Walker Brothers. A great introduction to who the brothers are. I like the plot and story line. The main characters are Chance and Erin. Chance is the brother who is the most thoughtful. He sometimes overthinks before he acts on something. When he has a plan he follows it but is that the right thing to do? Erin/Eva is normally shy and she meets Chance in the music store where she works. She plays with a band and Chance sees that. Erin thinks Chance only wants Eva and not the boring Erin. Both characters are well described and develops through the story. They have things to struggle with before they can get on with the next step on their path. There is chemistry, passion, lust and emotional ups and downs. The brothers are amazing supporting characters and I look forward to reading their stories.

"Crash and Burn" is a romantic tale that leads the reader down the supposed path of star-crossed lovers. Attorney Chance Walker falls in lust with his song writing guitar teacher, Erin Michaelson, but when he sees her alter-ego Eva James on stage, he is mesmerized. The first book of The Walker Brothers is well plotted, the characters are authentic in their grittiness, and it's well paced so that the story moves along smartly. Some writing inconsistencies were a distraction, i.e. the use of breathes vs breaths (How can one small e make such a difference?), pin light vs pen light and the term "pinkened" made me shudder. Technically the infinitive "to pinken" has a past participle form, but who uses it. And why? My annoying criticisms aside, this book has much to recommend it, thus my four star rating.
Erin couldn’t believe Mr Hotness walked into the store which made her lose it. She figured she would send him to Samantha so she could help him without looking like fool. Erin and her band were playing a gig every week and she wrote the songs but, lately nothing would come to her. Chase told Erin that he wanted some lessons to since he hadn’t played in 7 years. She tried to put him with another teacher but nobody would be available on Sunday morning. Her told her that Samantha recommend Aaron but she new it was her. She told him she would teach him but she new she would be exhausted from playing the night before. Erin is playing her gig and it just so happens the Chase and his brothers were at the same club. Erin starts seeing Chase and not only for guitar lessen.. Twists, turns and dreams come true.
Chance Walker just found out 6 months after loosing his Mother that she found a way from the other side to make him keep a promise he made when he was but a child. So with a guitar tight in his hands he seeks help to full fill a dream and a promise. He wants Erin Michaelson, she is the first woman who not only captivated his mind but all of him, and when he sees her on stage using another name she brings more then life other then just his music. A what should have been a one time kiss changes not only his life but Erin's too, she is not just a fancy she became an obsession and he does not want to live with out her.

Chance Walker is a successful lawyer. After his mother's death, he is left with the challenge to keep a promise made to his mother years before. In doing so, he meets shy Erin Michaelson. Erin is a woman with two very different personalities. One is the shy tutor at a music store, the other is her flamboyant stage alter ego as lead singer in a up and coming rock band.
Chance is finding himself falling for Erin, but the possiblility of a recording contract taking her across country proves to be a huge obstacle to any future happiness.
This is book one in the Walker Brothers series. This was a sweet contemporary romance without much turmoil. Chance is a lawyer and back in town after his mother's death. He has always wanted to be in a rock band so he decides he'll give it a try. That's when he hires Erin to give him guitar lessons. They were instantly attracted to each other and one kiss turned her into a life time obsession. She's sorta of a dual personality, a strict music store clerk by day and a sexy singer by night. A good story. I received an advance copy of this book via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it.
I bought this book and had it in my queue for awhile. It was a good story. Erin is a singer in the band her brother and her started. She is the star and the only responsible member. She has taken care of her younger brother when they were young. Chance is an attorney and has 3 brothers. They also had lousy parents and were adopted. I loved the closeness and protection the brothers have for one another. I liked the storyline but, somehow the chemistry of the characters didn’t keep me glued to my kindle. That is just my opinion, give it a try maybe you’ll love it.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I really enjoyed my first book from this author. I loved the relationship between Chance and Erin. Both of them want to follow their dreams but are held back by some thing. Love the intertwining of each of the brothers throughout the story so that you already know a little bit about each of them. I can't wait to read about the rest of the Walker brothers.
This is the first book I read by Amanda Adams and I must say it will not be the last. Crash and Burn the first book in The Walker Brothers Series is the story of Chase and Erin. Chase's mother has left a request to all her sons, that they follow their childhood dreams, this bring Chase to meet Erin, if you love romance this is a must read book.
WOW.. yep that is my first thought. This is a new author to me and I am so glad I found her. I love my books with a little romance, a little heartbreak and a lot of spicy sex and this is the trifecta! As an added bonus there is a meet cute thrown in there too. This is a must read for everyone! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I give this book 4.5 ⭐ I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. I liked the story and would recommend it to all who wants to read romantic stories. The plot is great with hot and steamy scenes between Chance and Erin. Great read. Can't wait to read the rest of the Walker brother's stories..

She tells an amazing story and I have already purchased this and added the other Walker Brothers books to my "to be read" stack! Trust me, you don't want to miss the opportunity to experience this sweet and steamy love story!
Erin and Chance are super hot together. This book was written wonderfully and all the characters just jump off the page and grip you so you won't want to put the book down till you are done. I look forward to the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Erin and Chance certainly crashed initially. But the only burning was how hot the chemistry and kisses were! I enjoyed these two characters as a couple. They seemed to be opposites of each other, but really were perfect for each other. First book by this author I read. Definitely checking out the other Walker brothers!
Enjoyed this quick read. Funny moments, serious times, and family. Sometime living your dreams can cause you to rethink your life. Meeting someone because you are following through on a promise may just change your life. And sometime being who you are it the right person to be.
Crash and Burn (The Walker Brothers, #1) by Amanda Adams is a good read. A sweet romance with a touch of humor, a bit of sorrow and a lot of drama. A very enjoyable read and I look forward to the other books in this series. I am posting an honest review after reading an ARC copy of this book.

This is my first read from Jayne Frost and I liked it. The storyline was easy and flowing. This is a good solid rock star story. The characters grew on you and kept your attention.
