Really enjoy the tv series and the celebrities cooking their own dishes after Jamie Oliver has researched the best recipe from their memories of the dish. Also the efforts Jamie and his good friend James go through to research good food sources and environment issues across the country. BUT the best is the great recipes and ideas and they are good entertaining recipes. Good addition to my collection of Jamie Oliver cookery books.

Mostly accessible recipes. Jamie explains from the get go that they’ll take some extra time and care, but they seem basic overall. I can’t wait to try come!

My favourite has to be the Tuscan Sausage and Tomato Penne as well as the hearty lamb and root veg Cawl. I love how wonderful all of the recipes sound and look. Loftus makes the photographs look amazing as always when it comes to Jamie’s cookbooks. I’m a huge fan! This is one of many Jamie Oliver books in my cookbook collection. I can’t wait to try lots more of these recipes. 🤩

Stupid I know, but this was on one of those 'charity bookshelves' in a local shop so I picked it up. Bit of a rush to get out of the shop (I had ice cream in my bags) so I put my donation in the tin, and headed out without actually opening the book.

I would never have bought this had I known it was mostly recipes by 'famous' people - many of whom I have either never seen before, or I thought were dead. In fact, when I was reading the list of recipes, I actually wondered who 'Veal Ragu' was and why his recipe for cannelloni was included. I might have enjoyed it more if it had contained some really interesting recipes - such as Cowboy Beans by John Wayne, or 'The Perfect Martini' by Sean Connery. Maybe even Shark Fin Soup by Roy Scheider ;)

Seriously though, this was just another of those 'celeb' books - another excuse to tout a recipe book. There's nothing on the cover to say it's just another remix of yet another of Oliver's books. I actually own quite a few of his books - all bought from charity shops or given as presents. Some are very good. One or two are okay. But many of them I keep because they fit really well in one section of my very extensive bookcase and if i throw any away, the others will tip over.

I think the thing that really irked me about this book was the misleading title. It's NOT 'Jamie's Friday Night Feast'. It's Jamie-and several people who probably know very little about serious cooking-'s Friday Night Feast. I felt a teeny bit stupid and more than a teeny bit 'used'.

Another book for the charity shop ;)

Looks like some good recipes, although many dishes that I would not personally make/eat.
