Even among the spirit world, Beau Brogan is different. Having the ability to interact with the living world in ways that are uncommon for most ghosts, he draws the unwanted attention of Takers, the inhabitants of the Darkness. When Beau realizes the secrets that are held within the Darkness, he will have to face one of the toughest decisions he’s ever made, dead or alive.
Malyn Reed is not only fervently haunted by Beau, but she’s also haunted by the decision he makes, which causes her to rethink everything she’s ever believed in. Then, when a freak accident turns everyone’s lives upside down, Malyn will have some tough decisions of her own to make.
After reading "For Always", I didn't think it could get any better. Now that I have read "For Now", I am forever hooked on Malyn and Beau. I want it to continue again and again. I sure hope that the next book is already in the works. I have questions about others in the book that I want answers to. They have got to have very interesting stories also. I cant wait. This is a definite MUST READ.
This has got to be one of the best books that I have read! Beau(dead) and Malyn(alive) have become my favorite couple! I can't hardly wait for book three to see how everything turns out!! I highly recommend both books!!
I tried to spread this book out so I wouldn't read it all in one sitting. It was extremely hard to do, but so worth it. For Now was everything that I dreamed it would be, and more. In For Now, we get another dose of Beau's southern gentleman charm, some quality time with our Nellie, and amazing moments in Malyn's head as she deals with her gift and all the things that go with it. I found myself highlighting so many parts of this book, so many sweet quotes I wanted to have easy access to later. This book isn't all romance, though. Not by a long shot. We learn more about The Darkness and the things that reside in it, and what it all means to Beau. There are also some shocking moments in this book, which resulted in me making this face :O a few times. I love this series and I can't wait to see how it ends. I MUST know what happens next, and what will happen with Beau, Malyn, and The Darkness. Janae has created some of the most wonderful characters I've ever had the opportunity to get to know and love, and in this book she just adds to it. Seriously, if you're looking for a book boyfriend, look no further. You will be #teambeau from here on out! I would recommend this book to any and everyone. Stop what you're doing and read this series! You will be seeing amazing things from Janae, just watch. She is one extremely talented author. If I could give this book a million stars, I would, and they would be beautiful and bright :)
This is a hard review for me to write without giving away any spoilers so I'm going to keep it short and sweet. This is a series that must be read in order so it will make sense. The tone of this book felt quite different to me as we learn more about the Takers. There are revelations that make Beau seriously consider joining them, but it's risky.
The love triangle is still somewhat alive. Malyn has made a choice and she makes it clear to the other guy that they aren't together but he won't completely accept it and starts making some poor choices. Towards the end, something major happens and it will be interesting to see where book 3 goes from here.
I have definitely decided who I want Malyn to choose in the end. Quite a bit happens, though, and the ending left everything up in the air. I am enjoying this series and want to start reading book 3 right now!
Content: Mild swearing, underage drinking, sexual innuendo and intimacy, teen sex (with some detail).
I received a copy of this book to review. My opinion is 100% my own.
Check out my blog for an interview with the author: Mel's Shelves
What a great read! I selected this series initially because the book is based in my town and I loved the novelty of reading about characters running around my own familiar digs. But because the books were outside of my normal genre I didn't expect to love the story like I have.
In this book, Malyn's character begins to truly develop and the story evolves in a way that often ran a chill over me. There was no predictability factor to the story and it kept me on the edge of my seat with anticipation. There was also the love story aspect going which gave the book depth and variety.
As the story progressed I found myself encapsulated "in the Darkness" and the difficulties and loneliness of Beau's new world and I saw a new genre of book unfolding that was reminiscent of a good old fashioned ghost story with a cool twist. Very creative and imaginative.
I find myself torn over which way Malyn should go with her choices and wait with anticipation to read book 3!!! Great book and well worth a reading marathon to catch up,on the series for the third book!!!

Janae, your a new Author to me and I have recently came across your For Always Series. I started reading them on Wednesday and finished them both lastnight. I couldn't put them down. You have ripped my heart out of my chest.. In a good way♡ The roller coaster of feelings and emotions I went through reading your books made me ugly cry alot Lol... You have managed to write a Dream World that we would never had the honor of being in without your amazing writing. There were times I have been in Malyn's shoes and to be able to relive those moments was absolutely breathtaking. I'm very excited to read the Final Installment of your For always Series. On the other hand im going to miss Malyn..Jace.. and Beau. You have brought together three very loveable main character's. I will say it was difficult on who I would rather see who with.. I loved them both♡ (still can't choose)... It was a absolute honor to read this series and I will continue to look for more of your books in the the future. Thank you for letting me into Malyn's life through your eyes ♡
I love this world Janae Mitchell created. And how the story is written, it takes you right into Danbridge. Mayln encompasses that sweet, Southern charm, and Nellie. Oh, Nellie! This grandma has it all with an extra dose of spunk. And let's not forget about Beau, charming, charming Beau. The perfect gentleman.
I liked how this book followed Beau more than the last one. This one had to, but this book felt more like it gave more equal weight to Beau's story. In fact, this book was more of Beau's story. There's a bit of a mystery playing out with this one, too, which won't be fully revealed until the final book. Whereas book one could stand alone, this one can't. It feels like book #2, part #1, so it's a good think book #3 is releasing soon!
This is a fantastic series, and the characters come alive on the page. Especially Nellie. Nellie, I think, is my favorite! That lady is so perfectly written!
Oooh what a pickle :) we still have Beau and Malyn who are in love with each.. The problem is of two reasons... Beau is dead and the other problem.. Jace! We also have takers and a place called the darkness to contend with...! Loving this and the characters, especially Max and Nellie :) That's all you're getting, I'm off for book three!!
I won this book on a Goodreads First Reads giveaway. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about a sci fi romance involving a ghost. I bought the first book so I could read both, and they are now my favorite books I've ever read. I'm hoping there will be a 3rd book soon.
Still loving this series. I love how we get more than one perspective in this book, and how committed Malyn has been to her decision, despite what I thought was going to be a disastrous love triangle. On to the next!
