Jasmine is an in-demand dominatrix who earns a great living taking care of men who want to be submissive, if only for a few hours. She's beautiful, successful at what she does...and bored. She's beginning to wonder if she'll ever meet a man who's more to her than a client.

Then she meets Royce. He's gorgeous, successful and he wants her. But does he really want to know what she does for a living?

Too afraid to tell him the truth, Jasmine risks a real relationship with the man of her dreams. With Royce, she's losing control...and for the first time, she doesn't mind.

This wasn't what I expected. The premise is absolutely amazing and I was super excited to read something about a dominatrix in a relationship, but what I got was a little underwhelming. First, I felt like everything could have been more explored, the relationship, her job, the conflict, the reconciliation. All of those aspects of this novella had a lot of potential and they ended up being underconstructed. I didn't believe the stakes, I didn't believe that they were in love after two dates and I wasn't happy with the resolution. The fact that she had to leave her job "for love" and I know there could have been more reasons for leaving it like she said she was bored but that also wasn't explained and explored that much, so at the first chance at a "normal" relationship that she had, she left her job so the guy could be okay with her? I would have liked it more in the epilogue told us a bit about where she was with her personal life a year later, but it only told us about the relationship and I wasn't invested in that.

I adored the writing and I think Loni London has a lot of potential to write a lot more amazing books that I will definitely read. I'm really excited to get more of her books and to see where she takes her characters when it's maybe a lengthier book or more constructed and well paced book!

Second Chances

This was a good read, first by this author. It’s amazing what some people will do for money. Love and family trumps money just about every time. Glad Jas did not just give up because Joyce could not deal, most times honesty is the best policy but it can hurt you also.

Nice quick read

Sometimes it’s hard to tell the truth but when you really love someone then it’s better to tell the truth then to lie. It takes a special person for someone to change and Royce was that guy for Jasmine
