Dans Jeux Macabres (le quatrième tome de la série d’enquêtes de Keri Locke), Keri Locke, notre enquêtrice du service des personnes disparues de la police de Los Angeles, suit une nouvelle piste pour retrouver sa fille kidnappée. Elle doit frayer son chemin dans un monde souterrain terrifiant et, petit à petit, elle approche de son but : retrouver sa fille.

Mais le temps manque. Keri est en charge d’un nouveau dossier : un père de famille issu d’un milieu aisé a appelé pour signaler que sa fille adolescente a disparu en revenant de l’école, sur le chemin de la maison.

Peu après, les lettres de demande de rançon commencent à arriver. Ces lettres cruelles sont remplies d’énigmes morbides et laissent entendre que la jeune fille n’en a plus pour longtemps. Elles révèlent également que leur auteur est un meurtrier diabolique, qui trouve du plaisir dans ce petit jeu macabre.

Keri et ses collègues doivent faire appel à toutes leurs ressources pour retrouver le kidnappeur, pour comprendre ce qu’il veut, décoder ses lettres et, surtout, le prendre de vitesse. Mais dans cette partie d’échecs, il se pourrait bien que l’adversaire de Keri soit au-delà de sa portée. Et peut-être que pour l’adolescente disparue, tout comme pour sa fille, le temps finira par manquer...

Penultimo capitolo della saga della Detective delle persone scomparse Keri Locke.
La storia principale non mi ha completamente convinta, l'ho trovata banale e povera di colpi di scena interressanti.
Ma il "fil rouge" che interseca e collega tutti i capitoli è ormai giunto al termine ed è quello che, senza ombra di dubbio, tiene incollato il lettore.

Sicuramente un buon passatempo.

jeeeeeeeeeeeeez what a book and what an ending...... seriously when it comes to this story line.. this series is by far the darkest out of the blake's series.

Bought each book back to back!!

Even tho I have never trade any books by this author, I have already downloaded several! Talk about jumping in with both feet and swimming for dear life! I read the first 4 over the course of a few days, so imagine my disappointment when I realized I had to pre order the last book! I really dread waiting until March to find out how it ends. The search for her daughter is killing me!

Keri/Ray, mon duo préféré! Jamie Castello évolue tellement bien, elle est parfaite pour l’équipe!
Encore une fois, Keri et son intuition font toute une différence dans l’enquête principale + la disparition d’Evie.
Un peu moins accroché à l’enquête principale qui tourne autour de croyances religieuses, en d’autres mots: la folie! Mais… j’ai aimé comment l’enquête s’est déroulée, les indices, le dénouement.
La fin de ce livre est vraiment à couper le souffle! Trop hâte de connaître la suite!

A Trace of Crime

Keri is at again. A young 👧 girl's life is at stake. Ray is finally ready to let Keri know how he feels. Keri is getting closer to finding out what happened to her daughter. Lives are charged, betrayal, lies and deceit. Read this book it is good. Blake still has the power to hold my interest.

Traces of her child

I can't put these books down. They are that good. Amazing characters, and the fight to find her daughter before it's too late. One to the next book, and I pray Keri makes it in time to find and save her daughter.

I have got hooked on the character of Blake Pierce, but the cost of his books are going up it seems. Since his books are only around 200 pages long I'm no longer willing to spend nearly as much on them as I would a full length novel.

Easy to follow

I got about halfway through this book and life happened, but it was very easy to pick up where i left off. I'm really excited for the next book, Keri and her attitude can be annoying but her story keeps me sucked in.

This crime doesn't pay or collect

As another young girl is taken the race to find her is riddled with frustration and sadness, sorrow and regret. Keri and her colleagues work desperately to bring about an end to this mystery.

Books 1-3 of this series steadily became more gripping and more interesting. Book #4, A Trace of Crime, was kind of disappointing. It was rather predictable and there was not much character growth.
