Tanner's war with The Conglomerate heats up, but also grows more complicated as he becomes embroiled in a power struggle within the Calvino Crime Family.
Sophia Verona, daughter of slain mobster Jackie Verona is in the middle of the conflict, and only Tanner can save her, but first, he has to keep himself alive.
Meanwhile, Conglomerate boss Frank Richards has plans to gain more power, while his former assistant Al Trent grows closer to learning the truth about Tanner's "Death."
Can Tanner survive and start a new life, or will fate snatch away victory at the last instance?
Remington Kane is an American author that writes action-packed thrillers. The author might be unfamiliar to some people because Remington Kane is actually a pseudonym for Donald Wells.
Donald Wells has garnered a reputation for writing darker and somewhat serious novels about killers. The author was born in New Jersey. He never really left and has since made a home there. Like most of his peers, Donald Wells was an avid reader as a child.
He spent many an hour devouring every book he came across. And it wasn’t long before he began to yearn for the chance to write. Like many aspiring authors, Donald Wells knew he had the capacity to tell stories. However, he was a little hesitant to venture into such uncharted waters, not only because he didn’t know where to start with regards to writing a book but also because he didn’t have confidence in his own ability to produce compelling fiction.
Again, like most notable authors, Donald meandered about for a while. Rather than going into publishing the first chance he got, Donald tried his hand at various odd jobs. He worked as an insurance salesman, a Real Estate Sales person, and even a Retail manager.
The jobs, though seemingly meaningless in the grand scheme of things, did wonders for the author’s writing capabilities. Whether he was driving trucks or cleaning floors, Donald gained insight into the workings of the world.
He met unexpected people and heard their intriguing stories. He came across numerous strange encounters and even participated in some of them. He essentially dipped into so many unique aspects of life that it came as no surprise that he had more than enough stories rattling around his head when it finally came time to write his first novel.
Not that many authors can claim to have been offered a chance to act as bodyguard to a drug dealer. Since getting his first book sold, though, Donald has finally settled in his career. The author loves writing novels and there is nothing he else he would rather be doing. The fact that he has found a way to make money out of his passion makes him one of the luckier individuals in the world.
By the time Donald Wells began writing as Remington Kane, he had already become established as a novelist with numerous thrillers under his name. However, writing as Remington practically took over his life.
This is because Donald has achieved more success writing as Remington Kane than he did producing novels under his real name. Kane is best known for the Tanner series of novels. Tanner is a hit man who accepts a job to take out a mob boss.
When he is betrayed and thrown into prison, Tanner thinks of little else besides getting revenge. And once he finally gets his freedom, the hit man becomes a one man army, engaging in a brutal way against a crime organization known as the Conglomerate.
Each new book sees Tanner raising the stakes by finding a new target that will sting the Conglomerate in ways they couldn’t possibly fathom.
Remington Kane has been praised for the Tanner novels because Tanner is such a refreshing hero. The protagonist is so average physically, devoid of the exaggerated traits that most action heroes seem to bear. If not for his natural fighting and survival instincts, one would be hard pressed to tell Tanner apart from any other ordinary man on the street.
As always with Tanner there is never a dull moment and you are just going to smile when he walks away unscathed. The story Jas been a contentious rollercoaster of a ride. The writer lets you know from the beginning In this to hold on. In this addition of the series we get to see.A.little more of the characters and what moves them to do the things they do. I also like Mere and Earle they are some of the glue that holds this story together. This was excellent storytelling and we get a full account of all the major players. I just wish Sara would plan a life with Johnny, because that in itself is a story.
This series is oddly addictive. They're like a soap opera. All these moving parts and pieces and interconnected storylines. Reading these in order is a must! And if possible, reading them back to back is helpful as well - especially to keep all the characters and plots fresh in your mind. There's quite a bit of violence, but I don't mind it as it fits with the tone and theme of the books. On to the next one...
Book 3 begins were booked two left off. Tanner is in New York and he’s going to make sure he puts an end to the enemies known as the conglomerate. This book was a page Turner with introductions of new characters and new relationships with lots of murder and suspense. I couldn’t put the book down until I was finished. Certainly, I recommend it.
Another exciting, action-filled read to keep you up all night. The secret organization, The Conglomerate, is out to kill Tanner for not following orders. Tanner killed someone he was ordered to kill when the order was rescended. What's next?
How is it that this book is not a movie or tv show? The first book was just ok but now reading book three, the MC is great and the cast of characters fun to follow. I'm a Tanner fan! Worth the read.
I really enjoy how each book builds on the previous one. The characters are well done, and I feel like I am getting to know them better. The twists in this one were excellent!
Again, this series is “fun” in a serious way and with a myriad of characters. I have to go back and remind myself who someone is here and there, but I am starting Book 4 and looking forward to it. Tanner is an interesting character.
This was my least favorite book in the Tanner series. I still like Tanner; this one had so many killings, I was getting bogged down in them. I will still read more, but this one I rated 4.5 stars.
What a ride. 'Making A Killing On Wall Street' was very thrilling and full of action. The story line was another intricate web of deceit with intertwining characters. I love the creative intricacies that Mr. Kane displays in his books. Tanner is such a resilient character. He's the type that adapts and overcomes with almost any scenario. I admire his ethics regarding the 'bad' guys. I look forward to reading more of the 'Tanner Series'. A great add to your tbr list. Recommended read.
There's always a lot of killing around Tanner but that's the nature of his business. If you like high paced hit man shoot 'em ups then the Tanner series will not disappoint you. Start at the the beginning with book one in the series you won't be able to stop until you run out of books.
Making a Killing On Wall Street (a Tanner novel #3)
Tanner and the Conglomerate are facing a head on collision. Sara is still after Tanner. It all comes to a head, but who survives? Kane's writing skills are going to drive you to the end of this one just to find out who is still standing. Thanks for another great read.
Lots of action, plots and subplots. You almost need a white board to keep track of all the characters from page to page, chapter to chapter. Looking forward to starting book#4. Hope everyone else enjoys the series as much as I have.
Another of the series that I have read and enjoyed, purely from an entertaining standpoint. The book was wild and a little crazy at times but the details as presented by Kane were complete and gave you good visuals of the action. Let's see more.
Another fast paced action filled story. I love the shoot em up action that is such a big part of this series and I wonder where this will go now. And what a cliffhanger!!!!
Gets better . I just can't wait for the next one. I just love a good bad guy. Tanner needs to stop a terrorists plot or Mexican cartel next by accident, of course!
