On the run since the murder of her parents, time has come for Leda Kingsman to take her rightful place as pack leader. First she needs to fight for what was stolen from her and her little brother, Sam.
A shifter without a pack, Taz Whelan worked his way into the Lee County Wolves as a tracker. Always the loner, Taz never found anyone he wanted to spend more than five minutes with. That’s until stubborn Leda entered his world.
As Leda leaves the Lee County Wolves under false pretenses, Taz lets her go, a decision that haunts him. When he discovers the true reason and what she has been keeping from them all, nothing will stand in his way as he searches for her before the forbidden secrets she holds takes her from him forever.

Wow. Just WOW. I waited for TAZ and Leda’s story and it was worth every bit of that wait. Teresa has a way with her writing that just pulls me right into the story and keeps me hostage until the end. TAZ has had feelings for Leda since he first laid his eyes on her. He knew he was playing a waiting game and was content to wait as long as Steve kept away. Leda has had a rough time. Finding The Lee County Wolves at a time when she needed somewhere for herself and her brother to hide was perfect but now it’s time for payback. Leda goes in search of her Uncle to punish him for what he done to her parents. Can TAZ save her in time? Can Leda get the Revenge she needs? Shocking discoveries and some help from our VC Warriors gives us a completely and utterly SENSATIONAL read. Not enough stars can give this book credit. LOVED IT. RECOMMEND TO ALL
This book was amazing. I can't believe that they went through all of that to get where they should be. The twists and turns make you want to never put it down.
Loved it! Got to spend time with the VC Warriors. Did and Steve are still hilarious , throw Hunter into the mix and you will be laughing hard. Tax is a bit mor serious than the other wolves and Leda needed to end a chapter in her past so she could go forward.
Maybe I’ve read so many of this series and The Protectors that I can’t really enjoy them anymore. Leda worked my last nerve. Borderline TSTL, she kept running into danger to take on full groups all alone. Groups that ended up needed VC Warriors and a pack of wolves to defeat. Sounds reasonable?
I expected more alpha attitude from Taz. He took a lot of backseat positions here because Leda was so ‘hardcore’.
I did not appreciate the entire VC crew crossing over. I found the banters more obnoxious than anything. Plus, more of the warriors were going rogue to ‘help’ Leda than caring about logic.
Last issue was Leda being a virgin, yet her previous ‘relationship’ with Steve was a big deal in other books. Seems to me you likely don’t have both circumstances. Steve obviously didn’t matter as much if she never took the final step. I assumed the casual relationship they were having was sexual though.
Forbidden Secrets by Teresa Gabelman I received this book from the author for an honest review. Oh Leda and Taz. You two have this insane chemistry and you need to just own it!! Taz, you stubborn wolf but I was so glad to see you go after your mate whether she is ready for you or not! Leda, girl your family is more than just blood. The fact you left your Lee County Family behind to avenge your blood family…..ugh but thankfully your new family has your back no matter what. This book was a great addition to an already action-packed series!! Leda made a great heroine and Taz stunned me stupid seeing him friend Steve, AKA Leda’s ex!! But really how can you NOT love Steve!! LOL! His minivan is pretty awesome….bahahahahah So we learn a lot about Leda’s past and the terrors she is running from. When we meet Jamie and Malcom we learn even more of what has happened to her past pack and what will happen to them if they stay. Seeing the hurt and truth unfold for Leda about her parents so was hard to hear for me the reader. I loved how strong Leda became but also how she understood Taz and his need to protect what was his. OMG Taz and Sam…be still me heart!! The Brother scene made me tear up. Bu the scene I loved the most was Taz and Leda’s new family giving him that what for about loving Leda. I loved seeing him be so strong and taking all that Garrett and Hunter had to dish out. I am soooooo hoping we see more from the wolves like Jamie and a certain very attentive wolf!!??? Maybe? Perhaps???
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book.
It’s Leda’s turn, after 4 books we finally get to hear her story with her words. When we first met Leda all those books ago, LOL, she was a child hurting from the loss of her parents, now she is a woman ready to right a horrible wrong and save those that were once her pack. Leaving without telling anyone in the Lee County Pack, including her Alpha, is what she does thinking that she is keeping more people from being harmed by her evil uncle. Taz is a new pack member, but has only had eyes for Leda since joining and since when he became pack she was with our favorite Invisible funny man Steve she was out of reach. Now, there is nothing stopping him from having her except that she has left the safety of the pack and is headed straight into danger and he will go after her to insure that she comes home safe. Man, Teresa gives us so much in Leda’s book. We have a killer wolf, our favorite Warriors make a appearance, over protective father figures, old friends both good and sort of good, fighting of good versus evil, and the finding of mates. There was so much packed into it that it seemed like it was a short read, it was so good. Leda is such a strong girl to have gone through so much, I really think that she is going to be someone that the younger women of the Lee County Pack can look up to. Taz is a beautiful person not just to look at, but on the inside too. Leda and Taz together is nothing short of perfect, they really do go together so much better than she and Steve. Now we have new pack members in the Lee County pack which means MORE STORIES!!!!!!
Taz and Leda! One of my favorite couples! This story is full of suspense, drama and intense passion (sexual and non-sexual). This one hits home with me a bit as I see a lot of myself in Leda. She wants to do what is right, she believes it is her fight alone, and doesn’t ask anyone for help. She has become a strong woman and has decided it is time to avenge her family and help her family’s pack. The pack that is rightfully hers. As she goes out on this quest of hers she runs into a couple of familiar faces from her past. In the meantime while she is trying to get a plan together to go after her uncle, Taz has sought out Steve from the VC Warriors to help him find Leda. The dynamic between Taz and Steve is snarky and witty. These two are freaking hilarious! As the story unfolds we find out so much about Leda’s past and what has been recently going on with her family’s pack. We find out the truth about just how terrible and evil her uncle really is. She also finds out that blood doesn’t always mean family. She has Taz and Steve at her back as well as the Lee County Wolves and VC Warriors. I am so incredibly happy that Taz and Leda can address the chemistry between themselves. But Taz has to look out because when everyone else catches wind of him and Leda the guys all come forward to give him a hard time. And the dynamic between Taz and Sam is super heartwarming. By the end of the book Leda really understands what it is to have and be part of a true family. There are so many ups and downs in the story that you can’t help but keep turning the pages. I am looking forward to more of the Lee County Wolves!!
I received a copy of this book for an honest review. OH my Goodness finally its Leda's story. We have seen her grow as a young teen to an amazing woman ready to avenge her family. we get to know Leda when her, her brother, and Janna walked into Lee County territory. We saw Leda's and a favorite of mine VC Warrior Steve's relationship. Leda is all grown up and ready to take back her pack that was suddenly taken from her. SH e sets off on her own to right the wrong. She doesn't tell anyone her true plan for fear she will put her new family in jeopardy. Taz who has known Leda was his since the first time he saw her but he was willing to wait it out tell she realized the truth about them and didn't like Steve handing around. When Taz realized he let Leda leave Lee County he is now hell bent on finding her. HE even enlists the help of the one person he cannot stand Steve, yeap you read that right. All I can say is Steve is Steve and all but drives Taz or should I say Tax insane. Leda is in search of her uncle to avenge her parents deaths. Little did she know the ones she was protecting were on the way. Her pack and the VC Worriers have her back and will no matter what. Will they all walk away or was Leda right in trying to keep them all away. This book was amazing we meet Leda's old pack, her BFF Jamie and Jamie's brother, Malcolm. I love the chemistry between Leda and Taz, and the interactions between Taz and Sam stole my heart. I am more excited for this series. There are so many possibility with the Lee County pack. I cannot wait to see where Teresa takes us next.
Loved this addition to the Lee County Wolves and I’m so glad how Leda and Taz got their story and how it all panned out, they were destined to be together from the previous books, I was loving that some of the Warriors came into help bringing their own kind of humour and love and protection to the Wolves and their pack. STEVE... well what can I say... he’s soooooo Friggin Hilarious (Tax) ha ha I was really laughing out loud.
I don’t know how this author does it but she has us completely Hooked with every book she writes, this author is my 1-Click author.
The only the only thing I would say ( which is why I had to give 4 stars) is that I really thought that Leda was going to complete what she said right from the beginning that SHE would be the one to to End what had been started by her Uncle, it was her Right... ( how many times did she tell us that) and it was down to her to finish it and then it was Taz who actually put an end to the situation!!! Now I know maybe that a Lady doesn’t do the dirty work so to speak, but really I still believed Leda should have been the one to do it after what happened to her family??
A Nail-Biting Powerhouse Of Betrayal, Unwavering Loyality and Passion.
As I've said many times before, I am already a BIG fan of Ms Gabelman's writing style and love The Protectors series; Lee County Wolves series has quickly cemented a place in my heart too. This series has everything that I crave in a great paranormal romance. I loved that we got to see my favourite Wolves and Vamps in action throughout this book.
There are some seriously strong alpha types in this series but the good guys are my type of alphas; their mates come first. The women's personalities are exactly what need in female leads; intelligent, resilient, self-sufficient and plenty of gumption! Both Taz and Leda captured my heart and I loved learning more about them and seeing them get their HEA ending.
I loved the banter and the balance that the humour played to the very brutal, horrific, tense and emotional scenes that this story contained. I hope that's not the last we'll see of the Lee County Wolves.
Leda Kingsman was too young, too frail and too female to fight her uncle when he came to kill her family, the pack alphas. Their mother made sure Leda and her younger brother Sam escaped. But Leda’s never been able to forget and revenge has always been on her mind. With a few skills under her belt, Leda lies to everyone and sneaks away.
Taz Azure’s indifferent father was cruel to Taz’ mother. When their mother died, young teenaged Taz and his sister left together only separating when she mated. Taz wandered until he met his mate and made Lee County home. But when Leda goes solo on a suicidal mission. Taz uses every tool he has to find her, including VC warrior Steve.
It was good to have Lee County and the VC warriors in a good action scene against the multitude of Leda’s uncle’s thugs. But this reader wanted more romance between Leda and Taz instead of the small bits that felt like after thoughts. Rating: 4stars
Taz and Leda’s story is one of strength, courage, and of course heartbreak. You can’t help but to adore Taz even if his brooding way. He is fantastic! Both of their strengths are needed to overcome what they must face in order to have a peaceful life, as much as any shifter could. One of my favorite hilarious moments in the book comes from a dar and sinister moment. After Taz’s wolf tears a part a man who dared to hurt Leda. Sid makes a comment Jared about having shredded roast beef for dinner. He says he’s dying to try out a killer recipe. Jared of course agrees while the others just shake their head and chuckle. If you didn’t catch all the hilarious word play read it again. It’s pretty hilarious!! Loved this book especially since I’m pretty partial to Taz, Leda, Sam and Pepper.
Another great add to the series. Finally we get Leda and Taz, these two have been teasing us for awhile so I was so happy to see what mysteries they reveal. Leda has a dark and horrible past that she is done running from, with not wanting to get her new family involved she is set to do this on her own. Taz is the tall, dark and deadly type of guys and all he wants to do is protect his mate rather she wants that or not. I loved getting to know more about the quite Taz and these two young people come together and their chemistry is off the charts. Loved seeing old favorites from both 'The Protectors' and 'Lee County Wolves' series. I laughed and was shocked with some twist, and I can't wait for the next.
I hate to say it.... but I am very glad to have finished this book. I have enjoyed everything else I have read by this author, and was really looking forward to these characters.... but... It all just seemed....off. The writing seemed so different, the level of cheese and cliche was off the charts (and for me that's saying something), I just didnt believe or feel it. Character contradictions aplenty, repetitive sentences (and all that cheese), had my eyes nearly rolling out of my head. I'm really disappointed that I didn't enjoy this more. 2 stars because books that I gave 3 stars to recently, were much better than this. Definitely not her usual standard IMO.
This is the tale of how Leda saves her Pack. Of course she has the help of some very Badass Warriors and Taz. This book brings out so many emotions. I laughed out loud. I cried. I sat on the edge of my seat. Full of suspense and mystery. I was hooked right from the start. Teresa Gabelman really is good at "off with their heads"! LOL. My respect for Taz is WAY up there. I wouldn't want to pies him off. If you love action and adventure with some very sexy Alpha male characters, then get this book and start reading. From a True Fan... Pam James
What happened?? Mz Gabelman is one of my favs, read all of her previous books. This was a chore to read basically because of the female lead character. I understood the need rectify a great wrong done to Her and Sam, as well as their fear of being hunted and eventually found by their enemy. What I cannot comprehend was why she HAD to do it alone. She was surrounded by capable, bad@$$, kickbutt , adult men and women. Did she even think to ask for advise, or ask for help...anything? Nope! Taz was barely a notch above her in emotional maturity. That said, I did enjoy reading about Steve and The Warriors, along with rest of Lee county wolfs. Would have loved to know more about Janna’s babies. If your a fan of this author(IAm), by all means read this installment in the Lee County 🐺s story. If your a first time reader Gabelman, I would advise you start with Janna’s story.
I can't wait for more! As always Teresa has brought us another grand slam! Every thing she writes is such amazing work, bringing her characters to life and making us fall in love with them all over again! I love that its not only lee county wolves but vc warriors too! With any of the books I am guaranteed to laugh, be angry, fall in love with strong women and sexy men! I don't think it's possible for Teresa to write a bad book! The only bad thing with such good books is I read it so fast and have to wait patiently for the next one!
Once again Teresa Gableman has given her reader's yet another glimps into her writer's mind and what that produced was Forbidden Secrets . This story was about Taz and Less . I'm so happy with how this book brought their story forth . To learn what Leda and Sam went through at the sadistic hands of her uncle and the truth shedding light on what she learned was heartbreaking . I hope that there will be another book in this series I've become a huge fan of Teresa Gableman .
While I am glad that I read book number five in the series. I did not enjoy it as much as I did the others. I feel like the female character was not as strong and I was not as invested in the events and relationship. I would still recommend the book if you have read the other books in the series, but I would start with this book even though it could be a standalone. If this is the first book of Teresa‘s you are reading I would encourage you to continue to read many of her other books because she is an amazing author.
Leda has been embraced by the Lee County pack but she is drawn to get vengeance on the wolves who murdered her parents and took over their pack. Taz follows her but allows her to do what she has to do for the benefit of her community and her brother. The history of her father and uncle unfolds and is devastating to Leda. Fortunately, Taz supports her and their relationship grows. It was good to see a female take on such a strong role.
I absolutely love these books. A good shifter romance with lots of action, drama, suspense and some humor is always the best kind of reading. Taz and Ledas story was sweet and spicy with a really good plot. I loved that the VC warriors made a big appearance in this book too, especially Steve and also Damon doing his decapitation thing lol A great read and highly recommend this series to lovers of paranormal romance
The Lee County Wolves Series is amazingly well written with characters that feel real. Book five is about Taz and Leda and is full of drama, tons of action, and some sweet but hot passion. Each of the books can be read as a stand alone but the whole series is awesome so just read them all.
Leda goes to her home pack to confront her monsters in this latest book. Leda and Sam have been living with the Lee county wolves but she's after revenge and it will take the wolves and Warriors to win and a new mate. A fun follow up book blending the two series. Not a standalone
I have to start out with saying that Taz is not my favorite character nonetheless this was another phenomenal read by Teresa. Kick azz action and hot VC Warriors working together with the Lee County Wolves is the perfect recipe for an amazing side splitting humor and tear jerking read. absolutely love this book series sooo much.
I love this series.I'll have to admit it's just a bit cheesy. I find myself internally rolling my eyes at times, but I love their individual stories. I couldn't wait for leda and taz's story, and it was pretty great. And God can I just say I love little Sam with his studder... God, so Damn cute. And Steve, love him too. Such great characters!
I love that the warriors and wolves combined to end of Allen's terror finally. Leda finally learns to trust not only herself but Taz. He never gave up on her. Never will. Steve was called to have extra help. The warriors and the Lee county pack joined together and saved Leda's people from harm. They have a new start.
I love how Taz stuck by Leda. Once her and Sam's story comes fully into the light got heart hurts for them. The pack loves Leda and Sam. I liked that the Warriors joined the fight. It was A great show of working together. Gas is a totally scaredy avenger. Please let Devon and Jamie be next!!!!!
Less learns all of the secrets of why her uncle took over her father's pack and murdered her family. Taz, the Lee county wolves and the VC warriors all helped set the Kingman pack free from the tyranny of Allen Kingman. He had turned a loyal upstanding pack into drunks and fearful people. Leda was getting her pack back and setting them free.
I didn't hate it. I didn't love it. I admittedly have only read one, maybe two of this series, so maybe I missed some build up, but the whole relationship seemed rushed and just lacking. I did enjoy seeing the Warriors involved.
Leda and Taz, finally! It was great learning Leda and Sam’s backstory, not to mention seeing the VC Warriors help out. Steve’s awesomeness continues. I’m constantly amazed that not only don’t his teammates and Taz kill him, but he manages to win Taz over.
