This series are a pleasure to read with a simple yet consistent pace. The characters are diverse, the sexual tension not too overwhelming and the story creative. I will mention that I am not a fan of the overused fantasy 'journey' read. It's been done so often and is, in and of itself, completely stereotyped. Nonetheless, these are a good light read which maintains the reader's interest.

Lucy's character verges of annoying at some points with her pacifist ways and boring good intentions. Done much further in this series, and it will become a complete repetitive bore.

Book 2 is more of the same as Book 1. Lucy and her group are still on their quest to defeat the evil Pesta by destroying the gates in each of the races of Undraland’s countries. I still like Lucy - she has a fun personality even as she faces some pretty disturbing events. In this book the group spends most of their time is Nøkken. Lucy is getting to know the others better, and her relationship with Jens deepens, despite everything else going on. The laplanding situation seems like a little bit of a stretch as a plot device. In a land as violent as Undraland, the circumstances that would cause two people to be laplanded would happen more often. I feel like it was put in there to make one more thing hard for Lucy. Her newfound brother is a little too handsy with her, and I can understand Jens’s wariness. I’ve enjoyed the story, but this book is really just Part 2 of the first book. This one ends in a cliffhanger too. That’s more than a little frustrating.

I read the book a while ago and didn’t care for the series but just as I was putting away books I saw them and remembered that I did not review or rate them I’m just going to say the same thing for all the books since they were really forgettable and I could not put the plot together if someone held me at gunpoint.

Mostly, I remember the relationship in this one and how awful it was. The protagonist was annoying which is always a pet peeve of mine and she was seemingly okay with someone close to her treating her bad while still acting tough.

It's a nice story so far, but the fact is that the books are quite short and the entire series is aimed at stretching the story to get more buys for all the books. Not a sales tactic I'm a fan of. I don't mind a long series, for example I'm a big fan of the "Frostborn" series by Jonathan Moeller. Except here you have a novella size book which makes you feel like you've just finished a part of the book

I think if I didn’t have this book as a set of the first three, I might not have made it to this book.

Again with the abrupt ending. So not a fan.

I’m moving on to the third book because of the box set but I’m not sure if I will go past. Story has very interesting elements but many toxic people and relationships and Lucy is the brunt of it all.

Book 2 starts immediately from book 1. Nik, the Nokken, is quite the character and not a love interest for Lucy which is a good thing as “Queen Lucy” has her hands full with Jens and being able to hear thoughts and feel Jamie’s emotions. This is quite the twist that makes this book interesting.

I chose this book because of a push on BookTok. I was not disappointed. The series gives a hint of Lord of the Rings to it, (which I love!), but I fell in love with the author’s writing style and the characters. I’m only three books into the series, but it’s been a great time so far.

Oh my god, my heart. Talk about a cliffhanger, and talk about a heartbreak! Twomey did a phenomenal job with this second installment of Undraland, and the end hurt my heart horribly. Thankfully I have Fossegrim on hand to begin right away!

This series takes me through a rollercoaster of a ride. It was fun, but it ended too soon. I can't wait to hop on to the next one!

This is the second book in the Undraland series and if you haven't read the first please do this one starts off where book one ended. Lucy and Jamie are sick and everyone seems to know what's going on except Lucy.

Now she's hearing Jamie's voice in her head. She is in Laplanded with Jamie because they killed awerebear together. The awerebear has a soul that Pesta put inside him and from killing him together and they became permanently joined. As a result, they always have to stay close together and they can hear each others thoughts as well as some other life changing things I won't spoil....but Lucy is helping to save Jamie from his curse.

So anything can be more complicated it will be, as Jamie love Jen's sister and laplanding is usually good for married people. Luckily, Jamie is just as charming as any Prince you'll ever read about he is kind and gentle and seems to love caring and together they will figure this laplanding thingy.

The merry band of misfits are continuing on their quest to break all the portals of Pesta to Be, but the mission is getting more dangerous each time and the Mouthpiece seems to be onto them.

Pesta, is a siren was the one which the inhabitants of Undraland banished to Be. It was after she and her sisters started to be too dangerous to them. She was the only one that they didn't kill (They couldn't destroy all her race)and was the strongest one. She control be and those who was tired to live anymore came to the her gates, fill the right papers and admitted to her realm. The price for this heaven was to give her their right hand (hands has magic quality for the sirens. If you were a good soul Pesta will let your soul into a bear. The problem is that Pests, is tired from confined to Be. She want to get out, she want more souls, she want more power and she prepare a new gate to Be from the human realm.

The first problem is that the human realm isn't belong to Undra and she don't have this kind of agreement with them. The second problem is she is going to built this gate from the bones of Lucy partial human parents (each gate built from the bones of the right race of Undra, usually from one strong family) and because she don't have enough bones she need to take them from Lucy.

Nik the Nokken which mean, he can convince you about things , make you think things and do them by singing to you). Nik is full of talking. He always glade to tell about his bravery and battle wins. The weird thing is he don't have any scares.

When Lucy learned Nik secrete they get to share a real heart to heart in a touching scene after everyone goes to bed and it brought me to tears.

The second book made me laugh too, but I had some problem with Lucy character. As 20 year , I had this issue of none mature behavior, which sadly ruin my enjoyment of this second book.

LET'S TALK REVIEWS::::: Where do I start? Lucy and her merry group of Misfits journey on to destroy the remaining portals. A journey filled with self discovery, bravado and misery. As lucy and Jamie struggle with the new found obstacle in the way of choosing their own destiny, more information about the different races in Undraland are explained and brought to light. As we go on in the book more of the strong personalities that make up the band of misfits are introduced to us. We see a side of each member that we didn't think existed. The brave stance in which the author choose to address social issues, self esteem, drug addiction, rape, homosexuality even male dominance. I was floored. It was unexpected. I cried; some issues too close to home and the delivery of the obstacles in which they present in society and over coming them. BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO!. Three cheers for Mary E. Twomey and the chutzpah it took to even write something of the nature in a book. Left one to imagine where the inspiration came from. I couldn't sit still holding my breath hoping that our heroes will make it out alive. The fast paced nature of the book mixed with the sarcastic wit we've come to love, coupled with the new side of our protagonist and leading male we have never seen before. This book is worth the read. There isn't more I can put to words. So look out for a Video review coming soon. <3

Lucy's merry band of misfits continue on the journey to put a stop to Pesta. Lucy has laplanded with Jamie and that is sort of an issue being that is her boyfriends best friend and now they are connected in a lifetime type of way. Having to deal with all the ramifications of that and going to each land to tear down a portal is taxing. Lucy handles it all in stride, though her companions aren't that accommodating. On to the Nokken portal and Nik the brave Nokken is up for the challenge, will they make it out before Pesta try's to stop them again?

I am in love with Undraland, but all the hidden dangers poor Lucy battles I may rethink that. This is such a well written exciting adventure. It never stops, they are continually on the run towards a goal or away from danger. I really really love Lucy her theory on life is awesome and how she always wants to be peaceful even when she deserves to bloody a few noses. She is so witty and quick, she makes for a very interesting character. I love the banter between her and stud muffin Jens, I don't know if they love each other or hate each other sometimes but that is what makes this story interesting.

If you are looking for a awesome fairy tale adventure than look no further this is a whole lot of fun all rolled into a awesome story!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. Man the emotions I experienced during this second book of the series was draining. I laughed as Queen Lucy experienced unbridled guilt and worry free joy after her Brother Charles whistled her a happy tune and cried with her as she cried out saying "I want my mother". I thought the first book of the series was awesome but the writer stepped up her game on book 2. I am almost scared to see what she has coming in book 3 but I can't avoid it I must read book 3 to find out what happens next. All I can say is WHEW!!!!

The second book in the Undraland Series starts where the first left off. Lucy is beginning to learn about this new world and the quest she, her gnome protector and her traveling companions have embarked on. This book focuses on her experiences in the Nokken land. I read alot so when I find a series that isn't predictable and is giving me unique ideas, for example laplanding, I am intrigued. This book does not disappoint. You learn more about each character, their background and why they are who they are. There is plenty of adventure, suspense and romance. I have already started book 3!

It was very good ! I can't wait to read the third one because of the crazy ending... I loved how in this book we had a lot of explanations about the different places, terms and other stuff. I don't want to say to much cause I don't want to spoil it. If you didn't read the first one yet do it! It's an awesome Urban Fantasy with completely new creatures. I have a huge crush on Jens yeah... anyway it was great!

After every page I'm wondering "What will Mary E. Twomey think up next?!" And she doesn't disappoint.
Laplanding with your boyfriend's best friend? Wth? And yet, even with the horror of the idea it seems to bring the dysfunctional group closer together.
Buckle up for a torrential and heart wrenching ride. You're in it for the long haul now. And you'll love it.

I liked this book much better than the first one. It had much more depth/meaning and the development of the characters was spot on. Hard to put down and definitely ended with another cliffhanger!

Also, Jens is too attractive.

Our little Lucy finds out that this journey to stop the evil Siren is not going to be as easy as she first imagines. First... not everyone's going to be able to live through the whole journey.
