ARCHIE AND ME VOL. 1 is the first of a chronological collection of titles featuring the classic series. This is presented in the new higher-end format of Archie Comics Presents, which offers 200+ pages at a value while taking a design cue from successful all-ages graphic novels. For 161 issues, Archie's craziest interactions with Riverdale High principal Mr. Weatherbee were showcased in this classic series. Now the first dozen are collected here!
THE ARCHIE SUPERSTARS are the impressive line-up of talented writers and artists who have brought Archie, his friends and his world to life for more than 70 years, from legends such as Dan DeCarlo, Frank Doyle, Harry Lucey, and Bob Montana to recent greats like Dan Parent and Fernando Ruiz, and many more!
Archie and Me collections 20 stories from Archie and Me #1-23 spanning 1964-1968.
This is a collection of tales centering around the relationship between Archie and Mr. Weatherbee. Harry Lucey, Bob Bolling, and Joe Edwards are the pencillers, Bill Yoshida, Rudy Lapick, and others handle the inking chores. For me money, Joe Edwards does the best work in this. Harry Lucey and Bob Bolling both draw a grotesque Mr. Weatherbee.
The stories are good for what they are, nothing too exceptional, although the story where Archie teaches Mr. Weatherbee how to tell jokes was great.
Such a great read of classic old Archie comics from the 60’s. Several stories I’ve never read before and others that are enjoyable over and over again. The banter between Mister Weatherbee and Archie was at its best during this period.
Ha! I guess I didn't realize that there was a whole comic run devoted to the misadventures between dear old Archie and good principal Weatherbee!! Good clean fun. I'm really starting to dig the '60's art style of Archie comics.
