Have we met? No? Well it's time to end that tragedy.
I'm a former firefighter/EMS guy who's picked up the proverbial pen and started writing bad boy romance stories. I co-write with my sister, Ali Parker, but live in Texas with my wife, my two little boys, my daughter, two dogs, three cats, and a turtle.
Yep. A turtle. You read that right. Don't be jealous.
You're going to find Billionaires, Bad Boys, Military Guys and loads of sexiness.
Something for everyone, hopefully. I'd love to connect with you. Check out the links below and come find me.
I realize the main characters have changed, but there is too much acceptance of casual sex in this, even by the main characters, though in the past. I just don't like that. I can't care about characters who don't value sex or see it as the intimate act is. A lot of past partners is gross, to me, and it's something I like in a book at all.
The book description is written in first-person (the book isn’t) and the “I’m not asking, I’m taking” implies a much more forceful/aggressive hero (which Hayden is not); in fact, Mel controls the relationship the entire way, and is also the sexual initiator. WAY too much minutia of the character’s lives (she with her daughter and he fishing with his buddy) – boring! The 5yo never threw a single tantrum, got cranky, or didn’t do as she was told. The couple didn’t come together until 42% and then it was first kiss and sex on a table in the restaurant – frankly, it wasn’t romantic.
The characters’ issues (death of her husband & he with his father) never felt compelling or crippling; in fact, for a supposedly strong, independent man, the way Hayden let his father walk all over him was disappointing. The only slightly interesting scenes were the firefighting ones, and even those were questionable to me – he wouldn’t end up in the hospital with smoke inhalation (TWICE!) if he’s wearing an oxygen mask (which he was). It felt contrived, to amp up the heroine’s fear of losing someone again. Certainly there could have been other ways for him to be injured.
It was somehow okej but a lot annoyed me so much with this. 1. The side characters acted like children who ran after ”hot” women to sleep with and makes fun of each other about it. It made it cringey and not something I would have wanted in a man. All of them acted like man children. Especially Derek🙄
2. In the description it said he’s not asking for a chance but taking which made him seem waaay more aggressive than he really was. I was waiting for him to see her and then immediately going after her and not taking a no for an answer. A man who would chase after her. He was neither.
3. And omg what’s with the accidents all the time. The first accident he went to the hospital and then immediately went back to the job. Buuut immediately had another accident with smoke inhalation?? Firefighters always has an mask on when they goes into fire. It couldn’t have been another type of accident. There was always an accident and it made me feel so bad for the fml because of her past lost. I was actually waiting for him to die because of how many accidents he had and that.

I would probably rate this a 4.5, so I debated between 4 or 5 stars. In the end, I just really had it give it 5.
I really liked it. Excellent writing- really high quality work. This was a freebie on Amazon when I downloaded it, and it is above and beyond what I usually get for free. I would expect to pay full price at the bookstore for this sort of quality.
This is my first firefighter romance, so I can't tell you how it compares to others. However, I thought the characters were relatable and the relationships believable. There were many different relationships in this book: the romantic one, of course, but also friendships and familial. They were all well-written.
Also, the plot was multifaceted. This was not a one-note romance. There were many other story arcs that contributed to the main plot and created a well-rounded story.
What's left after a fire. Hopefully a happy ending and that is what Hayden and Melissa get in this story. Literal fires can destroy but from the ashes a new birth can come about. Melissa was skeptical about moving forward after tragity struck. Hayden picked himself up after he too experienced a tragity. Both had different out looks but managed to get themselves through and come together. Overall quality of writing was good, only a few glitches in proofreading, no cheating or cliffhanger and you get a few steamy intimacy scenes too. Enjoy!
1. Light Up The Night 4 stars I purchased a copy of the steamy Florida based novel Light Up The Night (Searing Saviors Book 1) Hayden and Mel by Weston Parker and this review was given freely. An easy flowing, action packed but tension filled story with realistic and down to earth characters, fun loving and supportive friends, detailed vivid descriptions, a sensitive risk taking alpha firefighter and a happy ending. Longing for love and a close family relationship of his own, former NFL hopeful now small town Searing,Florida Search and Rescue firefighter Hayden Miller finds himself attracted to widowed single mother and owner of the station's favorite restaurant The Glade,Melissa "Mel" O'Bannon who is scared to risk her heart again.
2 Set The Night On Fire 3 stars I purchased a copy of the steamy Florida based novel Set The Night On Fire (Searing Saviors Book 2) Derek and Katie by Weston Parker and this review was given freely. Poignant and steamy, this story has the negative themes of physical abuse, youth delinquency and broken families as well as the theme of PTSD but ends happily. When Hayden's Search and Rescue partner and relationship phobic best friend, the arrogant at times crass playboy bachelor Derek Janson is sentenced to the ambulance/box crew with the quiet PTSD suffering ex- marine Allen Yellich for sensitivity training, he meets the abuse survivor and ER nurse Kelly Black who challenges all his belief. A good story but the questionable professionalism of some unguarded speeches may be found offensive.
3 Turn Up The Heat 4 stars I purchased a copy of the highly steamy Florida based novel Turn Up The Heat (Searing Saviors Book 3) Allen and Brea by Weston Parker and this review was given freely. On the same day introverted PTSD suffering ex- marine and Searing firefighter/paramedic and ambulance/Box driver, Allen Yellich freezes during a call, there is a water leak at the station which floods the adjoining art gallery owned by cynical struggling bachelorette Brea and sets into action a chain of reactions resulting in many highly steamy and acrobatic scenes, scenes from the gallery renovation, and some frank Therapy sessions depicting vivid dreams and battle scene. A good story but high quantity of steamy scenes.
4 Ignite The Spark Between Us (Searing Saviors Book 4) 4 stars I purchased a copy of the sweet to mildly steamy Florida based novel Ignite The Spark Between Us (Searing Saviors Book 4) Mav and Allie by Weston Parker and this review was given freely. A well rounded story containing a mainly clean virgin romance with a touch of steam, a generally thoughtful and all around good guy and loving father,a loving but interfering grandmother and Allie's unfiltered best friend Candice. Single parent Mav Cantone struggles to juggle his firefighting job and being a single father with the help of his live in grandmother until he is offered a promotion, his daughter Olivette starts kindergarten,he finds himself attracted to the kindergarten teacher Allie, and his grandmother begins talking of moving to a retirement community.
Where's the Beefcake💪? Too much talk and not enough action!
The beginning of this book📑 is painfully slow going, like a bad chick flick. It has the characters just sitting or standing around gossiping and generally just BSing. There are pages and pages of heavy duty descriptions of the Glade restaurant that Melissa💃💋 owns on the beach, and the firehouse and fire trucks🚒 where Hayden🐺🍆🌋🔥🚒 works.
The two characters finally meet almost 20% of The way through the book📑, and Melissa💃💋 shuts down the tall, handsome, and ripped Hayden's🐺🍆🌋⛲🚒 request for a date. DAMN. Well, Hayden🐺🍆🌋🚒 still has 80% to put the full body slam on Mel💃💋! He doesn't want to be single forever.
Yes, there is some anti firefighter🚒🔥 angst in the book, and some angst about the job being too dangerous. But there is a happy ending, eventually.

Yes, there is some anti firefighter🚒🔥 angst in the book, and some angst about the job being too dangerous. But there is a happy ending, eventually. The main problem with the book is that it gets all wrapped up in the details, at the expense of a potentially great story.
It's a heartwarming story of a firefighter and a widow who fall in love, but she lives in fear of being widowed again because of his job. The story flows smoothly. I liked the camaraderie the firefighters had. Mel gets over her angst, and Hayden wins her over.
Hayden and Mel were made for each other. He's a firefighter and is lonely. She is a single mum with a daughter, Kaylee, and runs her restaurant where the firefighters love to eat. It is there that she meets Hayden. They have both been hurt before and she just doesn't want to get involved with a man in a dangerous occupation. But can they deny the heat and passion between them? Can they both grasp life and take a chance on finding happiness and love with one another? I love the way that Weston Parker builds up his characters and storylines so that I feel as if I'm actually 'seeing' it unfold between the pages on my kindle. He creates these wonderful 3-dimensional people who are so realistic and so likeable. When things heat up between these two you're going to need to switch on your fan/ac as there is STEAM HEAT! I received a reader's copy of this book and voluntarily leave my honest opinion of it here.
His stories just get better with each new one published. Superb! DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED
This hot, 5 star read about Hayden, a hot, handsome firefighter and Melissa(Mel) a petite, widowed mother of a sweet little girl. Mel’s devoted her life to her daughter and the diner she owns to keep her busy since she’s still dealing with the sudden death of her husband three years ago. I absolutely loved the main characters and especially Mel’s daughter, Kylee. The book was well developed and gripped my interest as Mel is smitten with the hunky firefighter and can’t help but feel her angst as she ponders whether she can deal with another loss if he should succumb to the dangers of his job. It’s his devotion to Mel and little Kylee that yanked at my heart strings. The sexual chemistry between Hayden and Mel could surely start a fire, so I thankfully there are plenty of firemen around but rather than put out the fires some of them just fan the flames!
I loved this book and hope there will be more of this team of sexy firefighters! The attraction between Mel and Hayden is so hot from the first time they connect, it about sets the pages on fire. Holy cow! Weston knows what its like to be a firefighter and I loved the camaraderie of the team, how easily they tease each other but they still have each other's back when it comes to the job. The relationship between Hayden and his father was so frustrating until finally Hayden couldn't take anymore. I think having Mel in his life gave him the courage to stand up to him.
I love having a truly male perspective in Weston's stories -- guys can be guys but in the end, as long as they respect women and treat them properly, that's what counts. And of course it is hot and steamy, which Weston knows how to do very well!! Whew!!
OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! Talk about one hot, sizzling, page turning bombshell that grabs your attention from the start. Action packed, white hot, steamy, smooth flowing, nailbiting adventure that takes your breath away. All the twists and turns, along with a few glitches here and there make for one intriguing tale. The characters and their personalities are so realistic they balance out as they play off one another brilliantly. Weston kept the suspense and danger high as we sit on a razors edge through all the trials and tribulations they face. Throw in a bit of humor, drama and a sizzling chemistry and I'm gone. The scenes were graphic and pulled this little jewel together beautifully. Weston did an excellent job bringing this read to life flawlessly. Thanks Weston for sharing this awesome read with read us.
Is it hot in here, great storyline and characters, I look forward to the next book in the series. First book I have read from this author and I look forward to the next book
This book combined two of my favorite genres. I love sexy, hot firemen and chef storylines. This one was a page turner! Hayden is a fireman in the search and rescue division. His best friend and partner Derek always has his back, which is sweet in their stressful job. Mel is a chef at a popular restaurant called The Glade. The firemen eat there frequently. She has an adorable, smart girl Kylee that had me laughing at her comments. She also has her best friend Tara who sticks by her side and helps her. Hayden and Mel’s chemistry was sizzling. I loved them as a couple! The storyline was well written and I couldn’t put my kindle down until I finished it. I highly recommend this book.
Weston Parker has written another great book, Light up the Night it was a fun and entertaining story that captures your attention from the very start. It is a intriguing book with some really great characters who have an incredible attraction and chemistry. Mel is a single mom and a restaurant owner who is just happy with her daughter and is not looking for any kind of relationship. Hayden is now a firefighter after an injury had him leaving professional football This is a story of two people who have an incredible connection, that you can feel the heat coming from the pages. I recommend this book and hope you will enjoy it as much as I did. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
I loved this story of Hayden and Mel. It was so good it captured my Heart. So real and relatable. Hayden is a firefighter with a big heart. A NFL knee injury sent him on a different path. Mel is a widow with a small child, trying to run a restaurant and keep her feelings closed off. Which isn’t really living. Having been a widow myself I could relate to what Mel was struggling with. But Hayden is so good for het. His heart is good and he loves Mel and her daughter. He teaches her to take a chance on love again. Great story. It will tug at your heartstrings. Hot fireman, sexy widow, beautiful child =happy ending.
Hayden is a sexy firefighter, and Mel is the owner of a local restaurant, and a single mother. Neither are looking for love, but the attraction and chemistry are there. After losing her first husband in a plane crash, how could she fall in love with a firefighter that risks his life every day? Then, there is her daughter, Kylee, who is so cute. I love children in romance books, and I love strong characters, female and male. This book has both. It is also a wonderful story that is steamy hot and so sweet, all at the same time, with lots humor thrown in too i loved it, so therefore, I highly recommend it.
Two words for you: Loved It. Who doesn't like a story about a widowed woman who has a child but is a bit afraid to find happiness again? Could you live with yourself finding love twice and losing it tragically? Now, who doesn't like a sexy firefighter who loves a good challenge and loves his job more? A man who isn't afraid to date a woman with a child and possible settle down? There is so much to this book that you will fall in love with. It's a well written book with characters that you will enjoy, a storyline to feel good about and just a good book to read. I really enjoyed it.
You can feel the heat coming off this one! Woo! Sparks are flying all over the place! And I am not just talking about the fire scenes! Hayden and Melissa's ( Mel ) road to love is a provocative, furiously emotional read, detailed with suspense, infused with humor and the perfect amounts of drama. The characters, surroundings wrapped themselves around me kept me engaged from the first page to the very last! A must read!
A slow burn that will ignite your passion. A reckless hero and a single mom doing her best to raise her daughter will grieving her past. The life of a firefighter is dangerous for Hayden, for Mel its a test to love him while protecting her heart and her daughter Kylee. The connection between Hayden and Mel is sizzling , and the instant connection Hayden has with Kylee will tug at your heart strings. Another masterpiece by Weston Parker
Weston Parker can give you a love story that is amazing. Light up the Night ranks as one of my favorites by him so far. Hayden a firefighter in a little Florida town finds single mom Mel very attractive and adores her daughter Kaylee. Mel's known loss and she is terrified by the job that Hayden has he has been hurt before - she's falling for him and she doesn't know how to stop. Can she risk and Kaylee's heart on a man with such a dangerous job?
I love a good firefighter story and Hayden was definitely hot. He set his eyes on a single mom Mel who was afraid of his risk taking. But her best friend Tara and little girl Kylee adored him, and helped her in ways to get over her fear. Derek was Hayden’s best friend and partner on the job, he told Hayden to fight for Mel and not give up when he got hurt the second time and Mel broke up with him. I so enjoyed this story it was well written.
This was a great book. It most definitely had all the feels. Hayden was the perfect macho guy trying to hide his sweet side until he meets Mel. And Mel tugged at your heart. You really felt her anxiety and trepidation at the thought of losing someone again and how hard it was for her to let her heart go to someone in such a high risk job. Together with her daughter they were wonderful. Great book.
Really enjoyed this story about Mel and Hayden. Mel is a widow with a little girl named Kylee. She owns and runs a restaurant named The Glade. Hayden is a Firefighter. He meets Mel when the firefighters go to eat at the Glade. He meets her again when he does a Demonstration at the school and Kylee falls down and scrapes her hands and knees. Mel rushes to the school and watches as Hayden gently takes care of her daughter.
OMG !! I loved Hayden and Mel’s story. Absolutely intriguing and captured my attention from the beginning. I was on the edge of my seat, riveted to every single word, wanting to se what was going to happen next. I couldn’t put it down until the end. Amazing writing that I highly recommended.
I loved Light Up The Night!! I just loved Hayden and Mel (Melissa). They are such a great couple!! I also can't forget little Kylee. She is a little sweetheart!! Hayden is such a great guy and he wants to save people. Mel is scared because he is a firefighter but she loves him and can't be without him. I would recommend this book to anyone!! It just warns your heart.
This was a great read by this author. I really enjoyed Hayden and Mel...and, of course, Kylee. Kids just make me happy, especially when they're cute and smart. The story and banter between the characters was awesome as were the hot scenes. All in all, this was a very well written novel.
