Hiro Mashima (Jap: 真島ヒロ) is a Japanese manga artist.
He gained success with his first serial Rave, published in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine from 1999 to 2005. His best-selling work, Fairy Tail, published in the same magazine from 2006 to 2017, became one of the best-selling manga series with over 72 million copies in print. Mashima began the currently ongoing Edens Zero in 2018.
Fairy Tail won the Kodansha Manga Award for shōnen manga in 2009, and Mashima was given the Harvey Awards International Spotlight award in 2017 and the Fauve Special Award at the 2018 Angoulême International Comics Festival.
On the start on their adventure, the three heroes’ visit to a professor quickly turns into a wild time travel adventure with a few twists, new friends and surprises. In the end, they do manage to get their space vessel for their future. A (100%/Outstanding)
I'm really loving the developments of these series, again I feel the nostalgia of fairy tail throughout but its being over powered by this new story becoming its own and not just familiar.
The characters that are being introduced are really cool too, i really am looking forward to seeing them develop throughout!
Continuing Mashima’s new sci-fi fantasy series... This volume began with us being met by Professor Weisz... or at least someone on Planet Norma going by that name. We are also introduced properly to Pino and Elsie Crimson. This volume introduced a very interesting phenomenon called a ‘chronophage’ which I hope will be explored and explained a bit further in the books to come. Overall a fun read to experience while life occurred (hence the ages it took me to read it). 5 stars from me.
We first pick up with the crew travelling back 50 years ago in Planet Norma and we meet the young Professor Wise Steiner and facing off against Sibir and his crew who wanna use this tiny robot Pino for stealing. Shiki becomes compassionate and helps her out and rescues her and there are fun cameos and we got more answers about Shikis origin. And as they escape, the young professor comes with them and his ether is that he can modify machines and then we learn of Time eaters and how that planet Nouma is destroyed and will remain that way. They face off against Elsie and has one of the best fights like ever! That time with Shiki using "Gravity cosmos" and turns out it was always her plan to give it to Shiki. We get more revelations about this world and the crew advances to meet MOTHER and with Shooting Starlight (Cosmic Police) after them! The next arc promises to be huge!

This continues to build on the fun of the first volume, and manages to add some more stakes to the continuation! I'm liking this more than I thought I would.
I don’t usually read mangas, I prefer more scary books. but I’m glad I read this one because it was really good, the graphics and the story lines were amazing, no spoilers but the ending had a huge plot twist to it. Definitely worth the read.
"You see...in this story...'time' doesn't hold much meaning."
Hmmm...that's an interesting first page as we meet a young girl calling herself Xiaomei who lets us know we will learn more of her in time but for now consider her the narrator of the story (reminds me of the Watchers in the Marvel What If? series.) With the above words mentioned we get a quick recap of volume 1 before returning to planet Norma with Rebecca, Happy, and Shiki being surprised by a young man with a gun while looking for Professor Weisz. The truth will come out as new and old tech are discovered, the crew of three expand a little bit, and one of the toughest gangs on Norma finds out why hurting anyone Shiki calls a friend is a sure fire mistake (so many potential spoilers in this action driven and occasionally emotional volume.)
On top of the whole planet Norma events we also get to see the first encounter of the crew with the dread pirate Elsie Crimson as they continue the quest they started in volume one. Want to find out all the details? Get reading, Duckies! :)
I'm really enjoying this manga so far, Shiki's gravity powers are awesome and lead to incredible battles. Then you have to love Pino, cause it's impossible not to. It's going to be interesting to see more of who Elsie is, and her conflicts with Justice of the space army. Generally you gotta love this manga, it's got a good story, gorgeous art, and loveable characters. Once again wish that Rebecca was just a little bit more able to fight, but not much to do about that. With Happy in gun form she can do some damage though, so that's something. The world has been built up in these first two volumes, and (according to the author's note) the story is about to get started properly. I'm looking forward to seeing what Mashima has planned. And of course, it's fun finding these little references to Fairy Tale hidden here and there.

I am liking where this manga is going it is really entertaining. I really like the characters all of them are interesting to read about especially Shiki, Rebecca and Happy all three are such great characters. I also like younger Weisz he is interesting and does what he wants and is selfish in many ways he is still interesting to read about. I really liked the plot the characters somehow went back in time they meet the younger version of Professor Weisz other things happen fights happen they meet an abused robot things are solved they get to a ship and fight another character after that they have a new ship looking forward to reading more.
I have made a mistake, and my mistake was Kindle unlimited.
So. Based off this one, I'm likely collecting these, cause in the words of Shiki, space is awesome.
Are there a lot of Fairy Tail similarities? Yes. Especially in characters. But I forgive, cause this story is cool. I almost cried over a robot today. The magic is cool, and I really want to learn more about it and how it is created and works. The introduction of a weird space villain, a should be but maybe isn't space villain, we have government intervention, I am here for this.
This volume takes place 50 years in the past! I don’t want to go into the how and how long….but strap on in for another amazing ride! volume 2 picks up exactly where volume 1 left off and the fun in each and every page is apparent. Hiro Mashima is crafting another solid book full of fun and hijinks. Pages 80 and 81 gave me flashbacks to Akira Toriyama’s Ginyu Force within the pages of Dragon Ball Z. Pages 142 and 143 are my favorite homage pages of this volume. It’s another very enjoyable entry to start this series off with a lot of positive energy!
Erza! Lol I know about the whole struggling to draw characters different for artist but I feel like Mashima didn't even try to make them a little different. I mean I'm enjoying the story anyway but I don't even remember their names. I'm thinking of them as Lucy and Natsu's daughter, mini-Gray, Erza, blond Jellal 🤣
Lol I think I'm actually enjoying this one more than Fairy Tail. This is probably my biggest surprise manga of the year. I had no plans to pick it up, but decided to give it a try because I've been in a sci-fi mood and I've actually been having lots of fun reading it. Mashima annoys me with the echi and fan service, but he always gets me with the friendships and emotional moments 😭💕
Rebecca, Happy, and Shiki travel 50 years back in time. Professor Weisz escapes from Sibir again. The Professor wants to commandeer Shiki and Rebecca's ship. Captain Elsie forcibly takes control of the ship. Shiki beats Elsie but it turns out it was a robot decoy.

4/5 I’m having a lot of fun with this so far. Shiki and Rebecca go to a different planet to find a planet in a time slip and a young version of the man they’re looking for, Weisz. We’re also introduced to another new ally the mini android Pinot. The first half involves that planet and battling the gangster Sibir.
After that we’re formally introduced to the space pirate Elsie Crimson (Erza Scarlet I see what you did there) we’re also introduced to the Interstellar Army.
Rebecca, Weisz, Shiki, Elsie, Happy, Pinot, and Sibir all on the cover of volume 2.
Light and uncomplicated science fiction adventure, and warmly spirited — in short, a lot of fun. One particular concept, the "chronophage" (excellent name), a monster that devours a world's time, leaving it locked in a certain era, was an especially brilliant piece of sci-fi imagination.
