LGBT PolyamoryNext A Delicious Taboo Plus TwoCommitted to one another and their union, Van Dansk and Calen Maxwell decide to spice things up by bringing a third into their bed. They intend to invite the lovely straight barmaid from the local gay/bi night club to join them in a ménage à trois. Their equally committed gay friends, Philip Weston and Jake Welland have the same intentions.Melanie Drake has been secretly lusting over the seductive, teasing group of friends for six months. She's not delusional, however; she knows her infatuation with the two homosexual couples is completely one-sided and is content to keep her 'love affair' with the four hunks exactly where it belongs -- in her mind. One night of alcohol indulgence leads the four men to proposition Melanie into going home with one lucky couple. She can't choose one couple over the other, because in her fantasies Melanie has all four men in her bed, together. But that's just a fantasy, and fantasies aren't real.Or are they?Publisher's This title is a re-edited, revised version of the book previously released by a different publisher, and contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find Anal play/intercourse, male/male sexual situations, masturbation, ménage (m/f/m, m/m/f/m/m).
Okay, I can buy paranormal/shifter/vampire/alien gay romances but really two hot male couples who only want a 3rd (woman) and do not touch each other outside their monogamous homosexual relationships, even when all the male's involved are smokin' hot and well hung? Not a lesbian, but if I were and I found myself in such a situation I have only one thing to say, ain't gonna happen!
Also, this woman is supposedly constantly being 'cherished and catered to' by these four men and she's cooking for them and doing their laundry (not going to bother reviewing book number two)! I mean laundry for 5 people! There is a little thing as too much sex, it's surprising she can even walk! If I were her I would be having them do the laundry, cook, paint the house and I would be laying around reading romances and having them feed me grape leaves as well as doing my manicure/pedicure. I mean there has to be at least one domestic type among the 2 couples. Someone she can gossip and go shopping with. You can't tell me they're all alpha males (who bottoms?). She certainly get's enough exercise to lay around all day and not gain a pound.
So all in all this book is too unrealistic for me. Give me my paranormal/shifter/vampire/alien gays anytime. Much, much more believable!
An interesting, very hot short story about a rather alternative relationship. I liked it a lot, though I really wish it had been longer! But for a short story, it was one of the better ones I've read.
In this book, you've got two m/m couples: Calen and Van, and Phillip and Jake. All four are friends, but are in committed relationships with their chosen partner. Then a new bartender starts at the local gay/bi night club. They're all drawn to Melanie, a quiet loner. Each couple independently decides they want to invite Melanie to be their third, but theirs two groups of them, and one Melanie. So they decide to let who choose who she wants.
Only problem? Melanie has secretly lusted after ALL FOUR men since she started working at the club - didn't matter that she believed they were gay, she wanted them. But when the proposition her, she believes they are teasing. That is, until all four invite her to a barbecue that gets sizzling hot. They enjoy a sex-free-for-all weekend, but all too soon, Melanie's insecurities and the fact that two different couples want her tears them apart. The men must find a way to work it out for all of them.
...which ends up being that both couples get Melanie and they all live happily ever after. Definitely and alternative relationship, there. And yeah, not quite a believable scenario. I'm not sure how Melanie was able to move after all the lovin' she got in this book. It helps a little that the men had themselves to turn to for satisfaction, but all 4 often wanted Melanie. That girl had to be worn out!
Still, it was a fun, very hot book to read. I really wish it had been longer, though! I wanted to know more about the characters, more development of the relationship and all that. I just thought there was a potential for a great longer story here. And I'm always a fan of stories with depth.
For a short story, though, it was a good one. Some super hot sex, an interesting alternative relationship, good characters, engaging writing...it made it a very readable story that I enjoyed. I look forward to reading the sequel when I get a chance (A Delicious Taboo Plus Two).
WARNING, this book contains: explicit sex, explicit language, m/m/m/m/f group sex, m/m sex, anal sex, and a polyamorous relationship
I'll admit I originally bought this book for the, "Now how the HELL is she going to pull off THAT?" factor. The curiosity alone made me shell out the money.
I'm not at all sorry I bought it -- it was a great, steamy read with a satisfying ending. She's a good, solid writer who knows how to build the heat and keep it hot. It's an explicit book, so if you're looking for hot love scenes, this is it. Loved the heroes, the heroine was damaged but real, and enough humor and humanity to balance it out.
My only complaint? That it wasn't a few hundred pages longer. *LOL*
Well, this was a good quick novella by Jennifer Cole. The only thing that struck me as weird was that they wanted to be a 5-some but the men would stay in their respective relationships. I guess it would work.
The sex was hot and had all kinds of configuration. She dropped a lot of tidbits into the characters background, but didn't dive too deep. I guess she could in only 78 pages, but I think she could have fleshed it out more to give the characters more depth. It also would have made the book longer.
Overall though, I really liked it for what it was: an erotic short story. I look forward to the sequel.
3 Insatiable-Stars! ☆☆☆ im conflicted on what grade to give exactly, so ill just list the good and the bad. Good: Tons of hot sex! Even though 5 people f#%king at the same time seemed a little convoluted at times, it still worked. “Van reached down and with a finger under her chin, lifted her face until she looked up at him through heavy lids. “Tell us, honey…how does it feel to have Calen fucking your beautiful cunt and Jake fucking your sweet ass, hmmm?” Some people might see this as a con but i liked how all 5 of them f#%ked nonstop. Their sex drive was through the roof.
The Bad: Seemed too long for a short story. There was a lot of unnecessary character info that did nothing for the story. I also dislike when writers tell me how i should feel about a character straight out. Ex: 'he was masculine and strong.' I rather read about him lifting heavy object to show his strength or defending his partner to prove his masculinity. And some of the lines were too cheesy and didn't sound like something anyone would really say out loud. I love cheesy pick up lines, but here... “Your smell drives us crazy, Melanie...,” Your smell?! Wtf?! She's fully clothed and somehow you can smell her pu##y through her clothes?! Van & Calen got into an argument with Philip & Jake over who gets to f#%k Melanie Drake. All four men f#%k other men...but for Melanie they are all willing to become bi?... And Melanie rides a motorcycle? Why does everyone including Mel ride motorcycles? Not that i have anything against it, just wondering...
As I was clearing my TBR list I came across this one. Sometimes I read a review or something pops up on my Kindle suggestions and I tap the to-read icon just to review or read more about this book later.
For this one I have no freaking idea what I was thinking when I hit that button. Seriously FIVE in bed, when I read the synopsis I HAD to read the book. Of course it was paid and not on KU and no way in hell was I gonna pay a dime for such trash, so I read it online for free. Sorry Cole but it's an open source, and it doesn't deserve more than that.
I get that the idea of this book is to be unrealistic, but come on, really, does it have to be this trashy. I loved Van the most though he seemed to feel her tortured life and know her best.
I am not going to dissect how incoherent and left and right this book was, it is just hilarious how bad it is.
It was a generally good book, but I'm not quite sure I understand what Mel got upset about and left for, maybe because the bbq was organized? Idk. But otherwise it was good. I'll read the next one, bc I need to see how 3 couples work.
Not much of a plot but if you're looking for 'safe' menage, glossing over disturbing topics rather lightly (events having taken place prior to start of novel)... mmfmm
I don't think it was totally unbelievable: two couple of males frequent a gay/bi bar, where there's a gorgeous girl both couples want to add as their third. She (logically) thinks they're gay, but they're all bi. So they all have this weekend romp. She overhears a part of a conversation (not even a bad part, I don't think) and she FLIPS out and leaves. That was the part that just didn't make sense to me, but that scenario is in so many books. Someone misinterprets something and just leaves without giving anyone a chance at a rational explanation. And it's not like they were even treating her the way she interpreted the conversation. So while I enjoyed the story, that part sort of ruined it for me. I don't think I'll read the follow-up.

A fun read that also contains some thought-provoking ideas centering on a heroine whose self-image prevents her from recognizing her attractiveness to these found men. She is also unaware that while they are in committed gay relationships, their attraction to her is real and they are willing to initiate an alternate living arrangement with her. The difficulties of overcoming her prejudices against herself form much of the dialogue in this novella. And there are times when these men are disgustingly insensitive to her sensitivities. They love her, right? That's enough, right? How this all works out is an important part of the story, but a resolution that I felt was rushed and contrived to some degree. It will be interesting to see how this all works out in a subsequent Cole story.
This author has no problems with writing intimate scenes. It's the rest of the book that it just feels like something is missing. Like a story. It all happens so fast, and there's hardly any back story and the whole "girl over hears the men talking" scene was so confusing and honestly I have no idea why she was so upset and ran.
Even so, I am still interested in how the hell she will work in yet another TWO lovers into the next book. So I will be moving on.
-- Weird phrasing. "visually stimulating" "mouth of her sex" "a mite flirtatiously" -- 4 guys in 65 pages?! 0.0 -- way too many guys to describe physical attributes. Getting confused. -- "Even some of the lesbians in the nightclub had been caught drooling over them." WTF?! -- too many characters talking. IDK what's going on! -- now she's a plain Jane woman with big boobs and luscious lips. I'm out. Can't take it.
To use an old colloquialism: Hot enough to set ice on fire. I was given this book to read and was dragging my feet in reading it and, I must say, I am ashamed for waiting so long. Jennifer Cole menage scenes are the stuff of legends and I'm literally scrabbling to find everything else she's written. Kudos, Jennifer. You have another loyal fan!
OMG I want to be Melanie!!! What a lucky girl. And not one bi-couple but two bi-couples that want her in their bed.
The author was really good at keeping the m/m relationship there was well as bringing Melanie into the mix. She also kept the two sets of partners together so it wasn't like "find a hole" kinda sex.
well what can i say i was a little stumped on this one not entirly my sort of book but hey i read the damned thinng. the storyline is pretty good like i said just not my cup if tea tho i CAN imagine being mel who can blame a girl for wanting 4 hunky guys?? i mean really, i dont really mind that they are bi, it was a good read for about 60 pages :)
couldnt make it past this line on the second page: "Not only is she visually stimulating, she has an intriguing personality and a sense of humor.” can you say 'trying too hard?' i flipped through the rest of the book and remained unimpressed. interesting idea, poor execution.
Such a cute and short (62 pages)story, a little drama not too much though, some smoking hot sex m-m-f-m-m....probably shouldn't have been reading it on my lunch... because my office was a little warm after that!
Very, very hot during the steamy scenes, which takes a large part of the short story However the plot is far-fetched; the characters have no depth and a few of them are also unconvincing. Not to be read for anything else than the steamy hot scenes ;)
I must say that this book was a disappointment too me. I had it on my to-read list for a long long time, as I found the description very intriguing and exiting. But there is not much of a story, and the little story there was, it was pretty thin.
It was alright but not much depth to characters - never really felt like you got to know any of them that well despite tantalising glimpses into their personalities and history.
Holy smokin' hotness, Batman. This is one hell of a wicked, homo-erotic, menage story. I want a harem of bi-sexual men. I only wish the novella had been longer. Fortunately there's a sequel.
