Rate this book

This is a very basic guide for new parents on how to keep the marriage and parenting in balance. Good practical questions and ideas at the end of each chapter, but if you’re read any of Chapman’s book, very little will be new to you here.

Believe it or not, this is the first time that I had the chance to read a book that is authored by world-renowned author Gary Chapman. Although I've heard a lot about his outstanding book the 5 Love Languages that has later gotten a lot of sequels, I've never really had a chance to read any of his books until now.

My father gifted me with the book last March, when I told him about some of my struggles of raising a special child. Despite the fact that the book is not entirely intended for that struggle, it still touches on some parenting struggles we all may have encountered, although mine would be entirely different as it doesn't really tackle anything about raising special children.

The book NOW WHAT? is really intended for couples who recently had children and are feeling that the romance part of their marriage is starting to fizzle out. It covers a lot of discussion points along with money and physical and emotional intimacy, factors that are very much relevant to all couples - be they newly wed or long married.

It is a truly insightful read that is best to be read together as a couple, although that would be shooting for the moon for some people. On the other hand, if like me, you read the book first before your better half, you are of course expected to make the first move in terms of removing the rubble and building your love anew. So I'll see how it goes for me.

I am truly grateful for my dad for giving me this book and I look forward to getting hold of Mr. Chapman's other books.
