This is one of the worst textbooks I have ever read, and I am used to self teaching math out of the book. I had this for my online only course and it stopped being useful after about chapter 4. For about 3 more chapters the video lectures and the "show me how" on mystatlab were enough to learn by. But after that I was having to consult khan academy and other websites in order to make sure I was actually learning. I am in shock I was able to keep my 4.0 with this as my book. The only real good part of this book is having access to Statdisc, which does a few things Statcrunch doesn't.
I'm in another mystatlab course now for psychological statistics with a much better book that has clarified so much that this book just made overly confusing for an elementary course. No way my 200 level course should be easier than a 100 level course just because of the convoluted writing in the textbook. I highly suggest that if this is your assigned book, you make sure you have a lecture to go along with it.
