O. M. F. G...
Stupid. How this garners the positive reviews totally escapes me. The 'hero,' Nash, is heroine Bianca's best friend/soulmate since Kindergarten. He's also a selfish, clueless fool. Not only does he take her for granted and hurt her repeatedly in the first part of the book, when he gets signed to a big record deal he cruelly dumps her over the phone, telling her there's someone else. This after he takes her virginity and professes his undying, forever love for her. The girl already has hard-core abandonment issues, so as one can imagine his betrayal basically breaks her. And I have to admit - reluctantly - that I had a little trouble breathing as I read that part. I wouldn't say this writer is exceptionally good at the craft, but she managed to gut me in that scene and that isn't easy to do. I didn't care all that much for Bianca but, damn. I really felt for her right then. That was brutal.
FF eight years later. Nash is a big-time famous rock star, and Bianca has managed to carve out a successful life for herself. But she's closed off and unable to have a successful relationship because? You guessed it. Nash irreparably broke her and she never got over him. Meanwhile, his happy ass went on his way, hitting it big and seemingly never giving her another thought. They cross paths again when Bianca, who is now a wedding planner, is hired to plan the nuptials of a celebrity couple...specifically the only man she would ever love to a beautiful movie star. Ouchie. That scene was another punch to the gut.
Goddamn, I hated Nash's arse right then. Hated him. It was like he was rubbing Bianca's nose in it and I wanted to punch him in the throat. And then he had the audacity to keep demanding that they 'talk' so 'he can explain.'
???
What the feck is there to talk about or explain, you selfish twat?
Bianca impressed me at first when she rebuffed him at every turn and insisted on keeping the relationship professional. But inevitably she gave him an opening and that was when I got angry.
He threw her away like trash, didn't give her another thought for 8 YEARS and was ENGAGED, and suddenly he comes off all noble and shit because letting her go was what was 'best for her?!?'
Bullshit!
From where I'm sat that is code for 'I don't want to be tied down to you in my awesome new rockstar life.'
Bianca disappointed me in the end. She gave in too easily with very little grovelling on Nash's part. The guy had been a weak, indecisive boy who had taken the coward's way out, and his actions over the past near-decade screamed that she hadn't mattered to him at all. It was one of her greatest fears, and yet after all her heartbreak and suffering and all the work she did to build a successful, independent life, she let him back in with scarcely a protest. I hated that because it ended up costing her the life she'd worked so hard for.

But what makes this tale a true failure IMO is that he central issue is not addressed, and that is the fact that if they hadn't crossed paths he would have married someone else, like Bianca had never existed. I can't forgive that. If he had groveled harder and better proved he'd suffered, and admitted he was wrong when he'd made a decision for her life he'd had no right to make I could have possibly forgiven him. But never for asking another woman to be his wife.
I love angsty stories about unrequited love, but they have to be done just right and I have to respect the characters. This story didn't even come close. These characters were weak, Nash's reasons for his actions sucked and I hated him for being engaged. I hate the message that he was some kind of honourable person because he'd done what he'd thought was best.
I really wished that Bianca would have smashed that guitar she gave him. She was the reason he'd become famous, after all. But even that wouldn't have redeemed this story.

So many great review for this story. I feel a bit outside the norm for not being BLOWN AWAY like so many other on this story.

And i think the source of my rather flat reception of this story is that I did not like Nash. He was a decent friend, however, he became neglectful to the heroine once he started to become popular.

Then there's the way he broke her heart. DOUCHE!!!
Then never getting in touch in 9 years. ASSHOLE
Then we come to the present and the poor heroine having to plan his wedding... OUCH!!!!

It was a hard read for sure, and I felt all kinds angsty feelings for the poor heroine who had to watch her childhood love wrapped in the arms of a gorgeous movie star. It doesn't help the story that the heroine never got over him. I hate stories where the heroine is the one left out in the dust with a broken heart and an inability to move on. While the hero (Whom has become a celebrity) is now sitting in from of her with his hand entangled with another woman's, getting ready to plan his wedding to a big time movie star. (DOUCHE!)

So a DNF where the Epilogue began. and a 2.5 stars for me.

Oh! And his whole reasoning for why he dumped the heroine via phone after his promises to her not even six months into his leaving on tour?? LAME!!! Even when he explains why he did it and why he lied. It was still a sucker punch.

The blurb says it all! The heroine is planning the wedding of the guy who she has loved for a long time but he already broke her heart years ago.

Hell no! You should point a gun at my head to accept that job offer!

I adored everything about this book. From the beginning, when Nash and Bianca were only kids, I was sucked into their fierce friendship and love. The writing is so flawless and real, you truly feel every heartbreak and all the pulsing attraction between them that could never burn out. I never wanted their story to end! 5+++ stars!

Heartless is a book that will grab your attention at the prologue and will have you glued to the pages until the very end. Nash and Bianca’s story is a second chance romance that is emotional, heart wrenching and one that will burrow deep under your skin. Their story will make you feel anxious and frustrated with all the time that is lost for these two. This book made me cry, it tore at my heart but in the end it lit up my soul. It was a story that is captivating, romantic and hot and steamy just to top it off. This is a story about sacrifice and soul mates. Five stars just doesn’t do this beautiful love story justice.

Kristy Love is a new author to me. I liked her writing style in HeartLess.

I’ve seen mixed reviews for this one - so I was tempted not to read it but I really liked the synopsis, so I read it anyway. I am actually glad I read it as I really enjoyed it.

This story is about Nash James and Bianca Fair who are best friends growing up. They become romantically involved around the same time Nash becomes a really successful musician. His career takes off practically over night when he’s around sixteen, and they inevitably split up as he goes touring around the world with his band, HeartLess.

Now, some of the behaviours of the hero weren’t great morally to be honest. Nash does break up with Bianca pretty abruptly when they’re sixteen and he’s touring, but I personally believed he did it for the right reasons. Let’s not forget that they’re kids and their rationale for making decisions isn’t the same as an adult’s. Nash is away touring around the world and doesn’t want Bianca to put her life on hold waiting for him, so he breaks her heart in order for her to stop waiting for him. Unfortunately Bianca’s unable to move on with her life romantically as Nash is her soul mate. I felt that; we’ve all been there, albeit most of us realise eventually that it’s not our soulmate we’ve lost, it’s actually just an arsehole

They meet again when Bianca is selected to be their wedding planner and the story kicks off. We do have a big flash back which spans for most of the first half of the book, so those who hate trips down memory lane – be warned.

There are some further questionable behaviours from the characters that some may not like - the almost cheating on his fiancé with Bianca? Really not great, but the heart wants what the heart wants. Sometimes these event do occur in life and people do get hurt every day. I believe these two are soulmates and I understood what the author was trying to do from Nash’s point of view.

If you don’t like cheating and don’t like asshole like behaviour (albeit done with the right intentions) from your hero this one probably isn’t for you, but if you can get past that, then I think you will enjoy.

A helluva lot of angst, self-doubt, tears, apologies and drivel -- and a childhood friendship that turned into something more, fizzled and burned again after 8 years. Hero is a tattooed rock star and heroine is a event planner. It took awhile but finally the two got their heads on straight and made it work.

SO GOOD! I really enjoyed this book. It brought out so much gut wrenching emotions.

Nash and Bianca are soul mates, and you feel it from the get go. I loved reading how it all started. Bianca was absolutely, devotedly in love with Nash and my heart broke for her. After Nash leaves Bianca broken, they meet again 8 years later in the worse way possible; his current fiancée books her company for their wedding! (fiancee did not know their past history) Bianca ends up with the dreaded job and despite her normally sweet nature, she has become cold and emotionless. Nash is unsettled by this and starts making small attempts at being friends again.

Super angsty, so realistic (yes, I am glad the author did everything right!) and it had the best epilogue. There were no doormat moments and I loved that. Bianca had her weak moments and don't we all, especially when the one man you loved your entire life stands right in front of you. Highly recommended!

HeartLess by Kristy Love is a full length, standalone, romance novel. The story captivated me from page one and I read the book in one sitting. I could't put it down.
Meet Biance Fair. She's successful event planner, sought after - and then her past shows up in form of new clients.
Nash James is a rock star, rich and famous, and he's about to marry when his past shows up in form a certain event planner.
Bianca loved Nash for a long, long time. And now it's killing her to have to plan his wedding.

Put a strong heroine who knows what she wants, a irresistible hero and a captivating, slow burn story, extremely well written and told together - and you get a beautiful second chances story with all the feels in it.
I loved the writing, the storyline and the characters and give 4,5 stars.

Childhood friends and first love is hard to navigate. Communication, outside influences and following your dreams all have an effect on how the relationship will grow or fall apart. Bianca Fair and Nash James finally give into that feeling. It’s sweet and new and exhilarating. But can it last? Because Nash James is on the cusp of making it big with his band HeartLess and that will change everything.

Both Nash and Bianca have good hearts. Young love is hard. But I can honestly say Nash made me quite angry with his decisions and choices. His intentions were good if not skewed. I wanted to wring his neck. Bianca is a strong and independent woman. And I admired her for the tough situation she was in. I felt her torture right along with her.

Pacing is a little slow in the beginning setting up the scenes to come. But once you hit the thrust of the story it picks up. A good supporting cast and little angst round out the romance.

Better than expected.

I feel some threads were dropped or not fully explained. The angst was great. Not too hardcore, but definitely gave some feels. Lovely little second chance with a few fave tropes and angsty plot-lines. The H/OW’s wedding planner was the h…super awesome angst there ;) tho VERY LOW steam.

I only wish the author had written a book for the BFFs of the H/h :(

Giving a 4 cuz I can, probably a 3.5 in reality.

Kristy Love gave me the angst I crave so much and I fell in love with both Nash and Bianca. And nothing, nothing makes me happier than a grovel. :) Oh hell yes. Heart aching love story, stellar writing, and characters I want to be friends with. Who could ask for more? 5 HEART SQUEEZING STARS!

DNF...mainly b/c I didn't like the hero, he came across like a spineless coward, he had no backbone and his excuses for hurting the heroine was baseless...I like my hero to be strong individuals, they can come across like asswholes but have very strong character. I just could put myself through to finish this book.

I kept thinking i had read this book before, but none the less, I still very much enjoyed it. Would read it again one day. Simple story of High School Best Friends that never really say what they feel until its basically to late. Then a man and woman who still very much love each other but in different worlds.
Starts off in the present, and then Part 1 is in highschool; part 2 is the present. There were moments where you heard the words "Im sorry" a little to much. Nash even mentioned he said it to much. Well, lets stop saying it.

Dual POV.
Would recommend. Not to much drama or angst.

Bianca and Nash are one of these couple, you can't help but to root for! It's obvious that they have a strong bond. This is honestly one of my favs this year. I was hooked into this story and wanted to see how Bianca and Nash work things out. I would highly recommend this book! If you like your rock stars and a heroine who has everything organized and second chances! I seriously loved everything about this book and hope so so much for a Peyton/Felix book next.. Please please pretty please.. So much story and history there

I wanted this story to be great. I had high expectations based on the blurb when I first read it, it sounded right up my ally. I have never read anything by this author before and unfortunately I was disappointed.

The story took a very long time for me to get into. I was on the struggle bus for a while. It did end up picking up but the hero of the story just didn’t do it for me. He wasn’t the nicest person to the heroine and I struggled with this. I really wish the heroine had found a different guy (yes that’s how much I disliked the hero) in the end.

2.5 stars overall.

I went into this one without having even read the blurb, it's been sitting in my files for a while and I'm slowly chipping away at the mass of unreads on my kindle. Let me tell you, I don't 'do' second-chance love novels, why? Well, they totally broke up for a reason in the first place, and a lot of time the years that have passed, and the way we mature, make it really unlikely that we'd hook back up for a do-over of whatever shit happened the first time.

These two were like best friends since kindergarten. We're privy to their teen years and can clearly see Bianca's attraction and feeling morphing into more for Nash. There's jealous teenage stuff, and then he's into her too... first moments, and he's on his way for massive stardom. Even as a teen we know Nash is a bit of a dick.
Their teen breakup? Ain't nothing unsuspecting there, and our suspicions are confirmed later in the book.

Years later, like nine years later, Bianca is a successful event planner - including wedding planning to the stars. And who's a big star now?
Yep.
Engaged to a movie star and all. Nash James, sitting in her office with his yet-to-be-announced newly appointed fiance.

I couldn't like Nash.
Here's my problem with second-chance romances.
IF Nash and his star fiance had gone to any other event planning business... he and Bianca wouldn't have reconnected.
I mean, it's been NINE FUCKING YEARS and while he's been globetrotting, making music, money and fans, and let's not forget hooking up with a movie star - he's wanted Bianca this whole time???

And Bianca loving him for years - thankyou Kirsty Love so much though for giving our heroine at least the balls to have dated and (assumed) have had sex with other guys throughout those years - I totally would have DNF'd way early in this had she been celibate and pathetically miserable all those years!

Meh. Second-chance romance isn't for me... if you like hot musicians who do the honorable thing and break up with their teen girlfriend so she can get on with her life knowing he won't have the time for her - then you might like this...

review by Jen Skewes

Bianca and Nash have been friends since they were kids. They met in Kindergarten when Nash was by her side after a dare gone wrong. Since then they were the best of friends and inseparable. As teenagers, Bianca’s feeling for Nash started to become stronger. She wanted more than just a friendship with him but was scared to tell him. She was afraid he didn’t feel the same way and would be left heartbroken, and a ruined friendship. When they were 17 the line of friendship started to blur for the both of them, to the point where they eventually crossed it and became more. But their newfound love and relationship was going to be put to the test. Nash was about to leave, to go on tour for six months. This was his big break but they both agreed to make it work. Until the days of talking to him became less and less and then out of nowhere he completely shatters her heart, and breaks up with her. Nash has always been the love of her life so losing him completely broke her.

Fast forward eight years later. Nash is a big rock star and Bianca is an event planner. Her boss has given her a wedding to plan for two very important people, which she is excited about until she walks in the room and seed Hollywood’s “it” girl and Nash James, the boy that broke her heart. He has obviously moved on while she still has feelings for him. She has never gotten over Nash James. How do you even begin to put a smile on your face and plan the wedding of the only boy that you ever loved? You suck it up and handle it like they were just any other client, because your job depends on it. What will happen next? Will Nash go through with the wedding? Or does he still love Bianca enough to win her back? You will have to read to find out.

When I read the blurb for this book I knew that it was something that I needed to red, especially having read Kristy Love’s books before and loving them. The prologue alone caught me. But then as I read on I had a really hard time connecting with the hero, Nash. To be honest, I put the book down and took a break and decided I would go back to it at another time. I am so glad that I did because I really did love the book. I still had a love/hate relationship with Nash the whole time. I hated how he ended things, how he seemed to, in a way take advantage of their friendship when they were younger. There was no doubt in my mind how much he cared for Bianca, but the decisions he made and how he went about things were all wrong. I guess you can say that he redeemed himself in the end and seeing it all from his POV really made a difference and helped me to understand his decisions, even if I still didn’t agree.

I loved Bianca and honestly my heart broke for her over and over again. She is the type of person who is always looking out for others. Always there to help those who need her. And when it came to Nash she would have waited an eternity for him. When he comes back into her life I knew she still loved him, but I loved that she had a backbone and stuck up for herself. She let him know how much her hurt her, she didn’t just accept his apology and move on to be friends. She was professional and kept it that way. He was a job right now and that was how she would treat him.

Heartless is a second chance romance that certainly has its fair share of angst. I swear I felt my heart in my throat more than once, which I blame all on Nash! We get to see how they went from friends to lovers when they were younger which I loved. It helps you truly understand what they had. I loved Bianca’s other best friend Peyton and how much she stood by her girl. And I am really hoping that Felix gets his own books because I loved him. I loved how he was best friends with Nash but call him out on his BS at times. Overall, despite my love/hate relationship with Nash, I really enjoyed this one. I loved the angst, the friendships and the writing flowed perfectly. Hoping to see more of these characters in the future.

The blurb pretty much spells it all out, so there weren’t any great mysteries or plot twists here. And it was actually not terribly written! I’m never looking for high art when I read this stuff but I appreciate writing that isn’t overly ripped from Wattpad.

Which also means that this needed to be written well enough to bring the angst without the OTT drama. It’s a pretty tall order to avoid OTT drama and still write an angsty tale that hurts your own feelings. Because oh my god, my feelings were so hurt my Nash.

The H does some really shitty things although he’s not necessarily a shitty guy. Just a kind of dumb one. And the break up when they were teens was definitely not handled well by him, but his reasons were actually pretty legit and not the obtuse CR cliche of “I’m not good enough”. The h had literally stopped having a life outside of waiting for him, so his decision to breakup wasn’t in and of itself a cruelty.

Even when they’re reunited, a lot of his fuck ups weren’t intended although this is definitely where he became really annoying to me.

The shit he did when they were teens were quite awful and I felt for the h’s poor wee heart (he asked the h to a dance, forgot about it and went with another girl - and in a dumb attempt to “fix” the fact he forgot, made his friend to ask the h to the dance so she’d have a date. Remember the h is supposedly his BEST friend, so yeah). Given they were like 15, I do chalk this up to a fairly realistic portrayal of how dumb teenage boys are, and getting his friend to ask the h to the dance sounds 100% like teenage boy problem solving skills.

In the overall grand scheme of the book though, the h even admits that with the other shit she was dealing with at the time, their teen love life dramas were pretty trivial.

But as adults, I’m a little less forgiving. It was unintentionally cruel for him to delay ending his engagement. Never mind his fear of “she might reject me”, at that stage he should have know that marrying someone else while he’s entertaining thoughts of another woman, is a big ass sign to put the brakes on the nuptials.

He pursues the h while still engaged (with no real clue as to what it is he wants from her), and tbf it seemed like he was mostly just flying by the seat of his pants about it rather than logically thinking it through. That much is obvious by how often he realises he forgets that he has a fiancée. But this is CONT. ROMANCE! Logic is for losers, people.

Fortunately his BFF gets mad at him and reminds him of this, and how dumb it is to expect the h to jump into it with him while he’s still engaged.

It all gets handled and there’s a HEA for everyone. It was nice that even though this was angsty, the OW (I don’t even know if this should count as an OW bc, I mean really, she was the fiancée) she was a nice chick. No drama. No beef. No cattiness. Kind of refreshing in these sorts of stories.

I didn’t hate the h and there was a nice balance between logic and betraying-body-syndrome. Yes she still has a physical reaction to his presence, but she definitely managed to pull herself back from the brink and maintain her shit until he was actually available. Good for you gf.

From the moment I read the first few words of this book I knew I was going to love it. Bianca set a story in motion that I think every female could identify with in one way or another. She explained her first love. Seriously, who ever forgets their first love? I can honestly admit, I do to this day. Then there’s Nash, the object of the first love. He sounds amazing, yet clueless at times. From the time they’re little they’re always together and always helping each other out. However, just like in real life complications set in that change the pattern of their lives.

This story is so much more than just first love. It brings to life secrets that were long kept hidden and how they can change your perception of things and the course of your life. It deals with with assumption. Assumption is a common problem that I think at one time or another we all do. When you assume things without talking to the other person bad things can happen. Even though in life people are trying to do the right thing when you’re less than honest even for someone’s benefit, the result can be not what you anticipated.
I don’t do spoilers. It’s fair to the author. Read the blurb and read the book so you can get the full enjoyment.

It has everything you’re looking for: angst, drama, secrets, smiles, romance, and heat. Both main characters are flawed and it comes through quite clear. That’s what makes this story so real. In life who isn’t flawed? It’s watching the navigation of their lives and feeling all the emotions they have to traverse through that brings this story to life. The secondary characters are amazing. I would love to delve deeper into them. Felix and Peyton are both trips. They’re people you want to meet.
You can to see the evolution of immaturity to maturity. Too, sometimes areas of our lives never mature even though we get older. Old habits die hard.

I do have a favorite part, which I think is very enlightening to the characters involved. Since I don’t do spoilers I’ll just say look for Nash and Viv (another pivotal character) in the restaurant scene.

Reading this book made me take my own trip down memory lane. I found out I was asking myself the “what if” question. That doesn’t mean I’m unhappy. It’s quite the opposite. I just wonder how my life would’ve turned out if my first love turned out to be my true love.
This is my first book by this author. It won’t be my last.

How does one plan the perfect wedding that should have been yours?

This is a perfect Rockstar second chance romance. Grabbed my attention from the get-go. I loved the writing and the pace and plot were perfect. I simply pout adored and I devoured it in one go. I couldn't put it down. I felt their heartache and I felt their friendship and love. I felt so real like I was living it with them. I had to see what was going to happen next so I kept clicking page after page until it was done. When it was done I wanted more.

Bianca or Bee has Nash called her grew up together. They did everything. They were each others first loves, best friends and everything else you can think of. Then Nash was just gone on tour while Bianca stayed behind for school. Then out of the blue he is done and its too hard and he met someone else. Fast forward quite a few years and now Bianca is a wedding planner.

Biance is a wedding planner and is great at what she does. She gets called into her bosses office and when she does she is told she is having all her other events given to co-workers and she is to do the wedding of the year. Yep, you guessed it its Nash’s wedding. She walks into that room and their eyes meet and BAM that spark is there. No matter how hard she tries and she does she tries to keep everything professional. It would be Nash’s fault. His walls are all crumbling. Everything he tried to prevent is all crashing back to him. So fun to read.

Bianca is determined to pull this off if she doesn't she will lose her job. As you can see the drama comes in here. It's not too bad but just enough to keep you on the edge of your seat. The author did a great job and it's very fluid and concise. The passion is igniting from page to page. So good. I truly fell in love with these people. I even liked the bride to be along with Nash’s bandmate Felix and Peyton Bianca’s best friend. They all grew up together so they all know each other and are familiar.

Again, loved this book. I could go on and on but I won't. I am not giving anything away. Just go and one click this book and give your self all the time you will need to start it and finish it. Happy reading.

Wow! What a great second chance story. I connected with Bianca on so many levels and felt the same way she did on so many things. I got so emotional on so many things that Bianca felt and/or went through.

Bianca and Nash have been best friends since kindergarten. Bianca knew that Nash loved music so she pushed and help him pursue his dreams. Bianca and Nash finally tell each other their true feelings about the other person and become a couple. But they were a couple for only a few days since Nash and Felix - aka Heartless (band name) - were going on tour to open for a well known band.

Eight years later, Bianca is still heartbroken about what Nash did to her but she is now her own person. She's a very well known event planner and is requested to plan a wedding for a celebrity couple, which could push her forward in her career. The only problem - the groom to be is Nash!

Seeing Nash again opens up the pain and heartbreak that Bianca wen through for the last eight years. But she is determined to plan the wedding for the couple so that she can keep her job and advance her career. As the planning progresses, Bianca and Nash can't resist their connection but Bianca is so determine to move on since Nash is no longer available.

Nash has never forgotten Bianca and suffers for what he did to her but in his own way, he knew that it was for the best. Being around Bianca now however brings up all the feelings that Nash has tried to ignored for the last eight years. We find out about their pasts and how Heartless came to be and how they got their fame.

But soul mates are meant to be together. Nash has to tell Bianca the truth and see where it goes but can Nash be brave enough to do that. He knows that someone will be hurt.

Very emotional and angsty second chance romance for two soulmates!

HeartLess is the first book that I've read by Kristy Love, and I'm totally in love with her writing already. This is the story of Bianca Fair, who was in love with a boy named Nash while growing up. They were best friends, and he hurt her a ton, then they finally caught feelings, and he broke her heart completely. She was always supportive of his musical aspirations, and got kicked in the teeth once he took off into fame. Fast forward some years, and Bianca is at the top of her game in her dream job, when she comes face to face with the man who has made it hard for her to ever fall in love with another man. Unfortunately, it's when he comes to her with his fiance to plan their wedding so yeah, I was losing it. I cannot say how much I despised Nash for most of the story, as he was a selfish douche when it came to her, and I spent a lot of the time wanting to junk punch him over & over again. The way that he just expected her to forgive him while planning his wedding to another woman had me screaming colorful metaphors so much. Obviously this show how much angst was put into this story, along side of the drama as I was a mess. There's a cast of secondaries who gave me some peace, as they didn't pull any punches when it came to his selfishness because they called him on it. I really do love second chance love stories, but that doesn't mean that my extreme emotions are part of the package, like in this instance where I wasn't sure that Nash deserved to even talk to Bianca. So kudos to Ms. Love for completely transporting me into her story as you can see I was all in! And now the question becomes did the strong & fierce Bianca ever forgive him?! You will have to read it to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
