When I left my hometown, I had no plans to return. New city - new me.
But when a family emergency brings me back home, I'm forced to pack up my life and take the only available job.
Wesley Steele is the owner of Good Wood Tree Removal Inc. and the boss from hell. A typical lumberjack, he’s bearded, arrogant and offensive. He’s everything I despise in a man. I want nothing to do with him or his flannel clad chest.
But, he's on a mission, intent to change my mind. How far is he willing to go to prove there's more depth to him than meets the eye?
Remy Blake are a bestselling male and female author duo, comprised of Jacob Chance and Marley Valentine. Pairing up to have some fun, they write steamy, short reads, with insta love/lust, a side of taboo and a guaranteed HEA. You can expect twice the debauchery in every novel they write.
Avery was bullied in high school to the point where she couldn't wait to leave her little town of Piney View. So that's exactly what she does, she runs off to college then sets herself up in her dream job in California never feeling the need to go back.
That all changes when Avery's mum has a stroke which leaves her no choice but to return. And who did her sister get to pick her up from the airport? None other than Wesley Steele, the guy responsible for her high school bullying.
It's obvious from when he first picks her up that there is a mutual attraction, but for Avery it starts an internal war.
My eyes zero in on the way the material rises, exposing his skin. Like clockwork, the battle begins, my mind hates him and my body wants him.
From that point on its just fun back and forth as Avery finds herself working for Wes at his tree removal company 'Good Wood Tree Removal Inc'. I loved that name ;)
Wes is a modern day lumberjack big, beard and cuts trees down for a living. He acts very cocky and arrogant but it's soon clear that's all for show, He was very sweet maybe a little too sweet for me and didn't come across very alpa. I loved the competition between the other local lumberjack and the way Avery would tease him about it.
This was a quick sweet read, I would call this an enemies to lovers romance but Wes obviously had a 'thing' for Avery all along. This just lacked a little depth for me but was still entertaining.
I read Guardian by Remy Blake earlier this year and loved it. It was a 5 star read for me, and I don’t hand those out so easily anymore. I thought they truly deserved it though for doing something I was beginning to think was impossible. It is the first and only novella that I have ever read that actually felt like a complete story. Not only that, but it entertained me from beginning to end, the characters had amazing chemistry, and the romance was perfection. Couple that with the fact that I’m a Jacob Chance fan, and there was no question as to whether I would read Clipped or not.
Avery couldn’t wait to leave the small town where she grew up as soon as she graduated from high school. She was so happy to be out of there that she never returned until 8 years later when her mother is in the hospital after suffering a stroke. To her dismay, she wasn’t greeted at the airport by her sister, Lucy. Instead, she was met by the man that made her high school years a living hell, Wesley Steele.
Wesley is a cocky, bearded lumberjack that befriended Lucy after his best friend ran out on her and their little boy. He owns his own business, and still finds time to be the prominent male figure in Avery’s nephew’s life. This man does not seem like the guy Avery once knew, but she can’t let go of the misery he caused her so many years ago or the lasting effect it’s had on her.
Avery was hoping that she would never have to see Wesley again, but now thanks to his friendship with Lucy, he is there every time she turns around. Somehow, she gets talked into temporarily working as his secretary, and during all of the time they spend together, Avery finally warms up to Wes. In fact, things between them become downright hot!
I had a few problems with the book that didn’t allow me to love it as much as I had anticipated. The pacing was a problem for me, the ending seemed rushed, Wes was too sweet, and I didn’t feel much connection to either of the main characters. However, it was still overall an enjoyable story, and I don’t regret reading it. In fact, Remy Blake is still an autobuy author for me.
Clipped is a light, sexy romance that you can read in one sitting. The writing style makes it easy to fly through the book, and the story is sweet and steamy. If you’re a fan of the enemies to lovers trope without an overabundance of angst, or if you’re just looking for an entertaining, engaging romance you can read in one sitting, then this one might be for you!
I wanted to like this more than I did. I can typically get behind a story like this but for me this one just didn't work.
I needed a big apology from the Hero on how he teased and treated the heroine in high school. According to the prologue he made her life hell AND he was a very big reason she left town and didn't return for 8 years. Plus...at age 26 he was still that douche bag who called her names. All he could think about was sexing her up. I didn't feel any real feelings between them. Quite a few reviews state how sassy and feisty the heroine was and while she had her moments I don't feel like she was a strong character. She never confronted the Hero about his behavior - past or present. IT should have been addressed but it wasn't. She also overlooked the conflict way too easily!
Also...I need to talk about the sister for a moment. I don't think that the sister supported the heroine at all. I get her and the Hero were friends and he had helped her out BUT telling your sister (the heroine) that she needed to get over how the Hero treated her in high school because he's a good guy now IS NOT HAVING YOUR SISTERS BACK! I know the Hero really stepped up and helped out the sister but "sister's before misters". This is the guy who basically chased your sister out of town AND you are having his back instead of your sisters. There's something wrong with that. Finally..I felt that the sister and the Hero's friendship played with a very fine line of crossing into inappropriate. The comfort level between the sister and the Hero along with him basically raising her son with her felt wrong.....
Well MY. FREAKING. GOD!!! Wesley Steele, a.k.a Big Bad Wolf. I’m just going to say it…every one NEEDS a Big Bad Wolf to cuddle up to! Wesley Steele is fantastic and in this enemies-to-lovers novella, he started out as a huge pain in the a s s. Of course Avery and Wes knew each other in high school and he was one of the many reasons she wanted out of Piney View. When high school was finally over, that is exactly what she did…left Piney View never to return again. Well not exactly true, there were extenuating circumstances that brought her back and face to face with Wesley Steele.
Wes is not he same person that Avery believes him to be; and it only took one look at her for him to decide that he needed to prove that to her. This is where the fun begins!
The banter between these two is seriously top notch! I found myself grinning pretty much the entire read. And with every moment Wesley Steele proved to me he wasn’t the immature A - hole he’d been back in high school. I was also to the point that if Avery wasn’t going to take him, I’d waltz right on in there and claim him for myself! Cuz Jesus!! Ovaries were exploding! Kindle was freaking melting…I was left a wanton woman!!
So you really have to read this and fall in love with the Big Bad Wolf!!
So I saw this one with a 1 chapter in my mail and I was intrigued.
I absolutly love enemies to lovers it's one of my favorites, but it needs to be right.
This one wasn't for me it annoyed the hell out of me.. I felt more like he bullied her than I would think it's because it's attraction.. And believe me I've read Fear me from B.B.Reid and Keiran was a real asshole.. And still I've got to like and love him.
Wes I just don't like and never will, if I would ever meet him I would punch him he's so annoying and grr...
Maybe it's because I used to be bullied because of my hair and also by boys because I was a little curvier then others (still not fat (not like now)) so when he started calling her Anal Avery it was more like real bullying then something other. Maybe it's with an underlying reason.
Remember my review is personal and probably not what you would feel about the book so don't let this review keep you from reading it
I was under the impression that these two main characters didn’t actually know one another. At least this is what I got from the blurb.
Colour me surprised when reading the prologue, they know one another from high school and it was bloody awful to read. I personally do not look back fondly at my school time. So, I get Avery. Once I overcame my dislike that I felt as if I had been lied to I settled in for the long haul at 28 % mark. Up until then it was very much touch and go.
I’m not the biggest fan of enemies to lovers. But here I did enjoy it. I wouldn’t make reading these kinds of books into a regular occurrence though.
Getting to the story overall it is an enjoyable read. I had a lot of fun reading about Anal Avery and Wes. Their aggravation towards one another is their kind of foreplay.
Avery had a chip on her shoulder from school all thanks to Wes. I mean who gives someone the worse name either because he likes her. Dude you have a funny way of showing her that you like her. Avery ends up working for Wes because he needs a secretary and they become friends. From then on it develops to more.
Wes is a dirty, filthy man and a major douche. If you really look beneath the surface then he truly isn’t that bad. He is oblivious to Avery’s feelings and doing something stupid for the right reasons and it being the wrong way still makes it bloody stupid. Just sayin.
He did do some major groveling but I always seem to hold more of a grudge to the Heroes then the heroines in the book.
The author did a good job of making a very likeable book with a lot fun and banter.
If you’re on the fence about whether to pick up a book by Remy Blake, pick THIS one and prepare to kick yourself. I’ve read all three of their books and although I thoroughly enjoyed all of them THIS one is a perfect example of what makes this duo so amazing. THIS is the one I recommend to pop your curious little cherry. Clipped has EVERYTHING I adore about romance books. It is absolutely dripping with delicious angst and sexual tension from beginning to (almost) end, it is hilarious in a way only a snarky and feisty heroine can be and it has a hero with a mouth so filthy you’ll be blushing in church next Sunday just thinking about it. Enemies to lovers isn’t just my favourite trope they turned into magic. This isn’t just my favourite of theirs. It is one of my favourites of all time. Read it. #TeamMagnus
The dynamic writing duo is known for offering hot taboo reads, and Clipped did not disappoint in the slightest. The story captured me from the very first page making me want to learn more about the protagonists, Avery and Wes. It has a fluidity with an abundance of banter between the two along with off the charts chemistry. Male and female authors make up this partnership and I don’t know how they do it but they’ve managed to pull off another captivating story.
Avery left her home town Piney View eight years previous due to her being teased terribly in high school and wanting to make something of herself; however, a family tragedy brings her back to the town she fought so hard to leave. Avery is sassy, strong and can hold her own when it comes to her arch nemesis Wes Steele. She can give as good as she gets and boy, does she stand up to him.
Wes is a lumberjack whose business is called Good Wood Tree Removal Inc. He is a cocky, arrogant alpha who gets a real kick out of winding Avery up. He always did at school and seeing her for the first time since she left town, he can’t resist getting under her skin calling her the nickname he gave her all those years ago.
“Why are you being so nice? Should I be worried?”
“I’m always nice. In fact you haven’t even begun to realise how,” nice I can be.”
I instantly warmed to the supporting character, Lucy who is Avery’s sister and happens to be best friends with Wes. Lucy’s son, Jeremiah, completely looks up to Wes. Poor Avery, has no chance of getting away from Wes as he sees her sister and nephew regularly. Much to her annoyance, more so when she sees a sweet side to him with his interaction with Jeremiah. There is also a tinge of jealousy which made me question if her feelings ran deeper than just having a strong dislike to Wes.
“But you and I, we should definitely be more than just friends. Friends with benefits?”
“Ugh. And we’ve come full circle. A civil conversation did nothing to change how annoying you are.”
“You’ll fall in love with me soon enough.”
“Love? Please, I barely like you.”
With so much going on in this story it was difficult to put down. I was constantly wanting to know where this frenemies storyline was leading to. Lucy unwittingly pushes Avery into helping Wes at the office as he is snowed under with work and in need of a secretary.
I was constantly either smiling or laughing at the two culminating in a lot of hilarious sequence of events that I won’t give away as you will have to read it to find out. There is no predictability with the flow of the story at all. I must keep touching on the hilarity of Clipped because that was predominant throughout the story and what I loved is we get a lot of story and depth with the characters that doesn’t go straight into sex scenes. The chemistry and build-up made it more about what they are portrayed as people, and how they interact as opposed to just raunchy scenes. Don’t be put off though, some of the steamy scenes are very impressive and engaging. Clipped is a must read which deserves five stars. When a story can make me smile and leave me thinking about it long after finishing, it’s worth it.
This latest release from the steamy romance writing team Remy Blake is the perfect enemies to lovers romance. Avery grew up in a small town where Wesley lived to make her life a living hell during high school. She could not wait to get her hands on her diploma so that she could hightail it out of town and never look back. And that's exactly what she did, leaving her mom, her sister and eventually her nephew behind. She hasn't come back once for a visit in eight years - that's just how much she hates this man Wesley. She can't get over the hurt and the humiliation he caused her when she was a serious high school student and he was the class buffoon.
When Avery has to head home for a family emergency, she's shocked to find Wesley is now a close family friend and support system to her older sister and nephew. Her sister Lucy swears up and down that Wesley has changed his stripes, but from the second he shows up at the airport to pick her up and calls her by her dreaded high school nickname, the hatred and rage rises to the surface as she sees the truth about grown-up Wesley. He's the same as teenage Wesley just bigger and more handsome. Same jerk. Same bully. More gorgeous.
Wesley sets out to prove to Avery that he has in fact changed, but all the old habits between the high school rivals are difficult to break. He tries to show his helpful, kinder and more caring side in hopes that Avery will give him a chance. He is fiercely attracted to her and physically, the feeling is mutual, but Avery can't let her brain get on board. The hurt is too heavy to forgive. Wesley ends up being an invaluable support system to her family during their trying time - even going so far as to hire Avery on part time at his very successful business. He'd love for her to stay on full-time and not move back to California, but she can't decide what's best for her future. She'd love to be closer to her family, especially after this close call with losing someone, but is she ready to make good memories to replace the bad?
Wesley finds a way to get Avery to open up to him, but when she finds out what he's been hiding she feels betrayed. She had been starting to have strong feelings for him and the physical connection was unbelievable, but now she has a fresh betrayal to forgive and forget before she could ever consider a future with Wesley. Can Wesley convince Avery to forgive him for his past and his present mistakes in order to give their incredible chemistry a chance to develop into something more? Or will she pack her bags and head back to her comfortable and safe life in California and finally put all of Wesley's cruelty behind her once and for all?
This writing team is so talented. The snarky banter, the push and pull between Avery and Wesley right from the first moment builds an insanely hot sexual tension between the two of them. Wesley has a hidden (very hidden) sweet side that made me swoon, but also has the gift of dirty talk hot enough to melt off your panties. Don't miss out on this hot sexy new romance from Remy Blake.
Will Wesley's wood cut it for Avery or is he barking up the wrong tree? This hot lumberjack will leaf you axeing for more! :P
You know what separates a mediocre story from a 5 Star amazing novel? THE WRITING. Yes, this is erotica. Yes, this is a bad boy romance. Yes, this is a shorter book. NONE of that matters. This book is PHENOMENAL. No exaggeration.
There's a lot of competition out there for sexy romance, erotica, alpha male stories, and bad boy romances but the difference between a lot of those books and this one is the quality of the writing and the extent of the gripping story line that is told so well that you forget it's a story. You LIVE it, BREATHE it, and feel like you are THERE. Only the best writers can transport you into a novel and immerse you so deeply.
I loved how two people with such a rocky start could come together and fall in love. There is a sweetness to their budding romance that was unique and fun while the slow build up of their feelings is handled with precision and a steady pace. Both points of view add rich detail and allow the reader to glimpse into both characters. Snarky and at times laugh out loud funny, there is a chemistry between Wes and Avery that leaps off the pages. Hot and sexy and downright pleasurable to read, this book is my favorite of the three written by the authors so far. It's easy to see why so many great reviews are being given.
I think this will be a book I return to time and again. It's THAT GOOD. Trust me, you won't want to put it down. I'm sure my opinion is joined by many others as there are TONS of raving reviews. I can't give enough praise to the authors. WELL DONE! I'm looking forward to future works and can say with certainty I will continue to purchase everything they write. 5 HEART POUNDING HOWLING PLEASURABLE STARS!!!!
Wesley and Avery....... This was another sexy, sweet read by this author duo. The writing flowed very well considering Remy Blake is two authors: Jacob Chance and Marley Valentine. The pace was good so that I easily read through this book in under two hours.
Avery is back in town after having left years ago. Wesley and Avery knew each other from high school. I don't want to say too much about their HS relationship other than that is wasn't good. Because of that, Avery is surprised and more than a little dismayed to find Wesley waiting for her at the airport. Avery wants nothing to do with Wes and will not give in to his charms. I have no other way to describe Wes other than big, burly, adorable and very persuasive. I liked Avery and Wesley together. They had great chemistry and the banter between them was entertaining and humorous.
My one small disappointment was that Wesley didn't really apologize for his actions in high school. I felt there needed to be some groveling on his part and better acknowledgment and understanding of how deeply his actions affected Avery.
Clipped has a great ending. Wesley and Avery are so adorable together and I'm glad they have their HEA.
This book is So Hot! It is like turn on a fan grab an ice pack HOT! Wow! The Chemistry Between Wes and Avery is electric! They are undeniably sexy AF! This book is a Fun quick read that you are sure to enjoy!
Avery couldn't leave home soon enough as soon as she graduated high school she was out of that small town. Then eight years later she finally comes home and she has to confront one of the reasons she left,Wes Steele. She can't deny that he is sexy and the sexual tension between them. She doesn't want to let go of the man he used the be, the asshole who hurt her in high school. She doesn't want to be around him but it's impossible with how much he is over helping her sister and her good nature has her helping him out at his job. The more time they spend together the more she sees he's not the same asshole from high school. He might just be a better man one she can take a chance on.
Wes can't believe that Avery is back in town and sexy as ever. He has always had it easy with women and he wants her but she doesn't make it easy for him. He will fight her to get her to see he is different and that she need to give him a shot. The more they are together they more he realizes he wants her more than just one night. She is everything he wants and she just has to see it.
Sexy Lumberjack at your service!! This book was so wonderful. It is so Sexy and so fun. Wes and Avery have a back and forth that you will love to read!! Pick up your copy of this Sexy Lumberjack and the Girl who puts up a fight!
Another amazing read from the writing duo known as Remy Blake. This story was sexy, fun and so steamy. Avery and Wesley pushed and pulled each other until the chemistry they had exploded. A great read!
Avery sure likes to tease a reaction out of Wes, "growling, I attack her neck with biting kisses. “Then we won’t be eating dessert at the restaurant.” Pushing my hips into her, I groan. “You woke up little Greg Allman.” Wes knows how to grovel, the man gives some unique gifts and writes some heartfelt notes, "...here’s an ax to chop my balls off, if I ever screw up again. Love, Wes." I really liked this book, Wes was cocky and dominant.
This was a Remy Blake first for me and I'm disappointed that I hadn't read more from this great author. I was pulled in from the first page and didn't stop til I was done. The characters were real as well as the flow of the story. This is a great enemy to lovers read. Avery is a controlled type personality everything has its place and purpose and being sorta of ocd in high school wasn't easy on her especially by Wesley Steele, he made her high school days hell that's why given the chance to go away to college she took it and ran, now 8 years later she's forced home due to her mother being ill and she quickly realizes that there's no place like home, but it's the least person in the world making g her want to stay. Wesley knows he was a jerk back in high school especially to Avery but it's because it liked her, we all know the old saying "if a boy is mean to you he likes you" well he didn't ever hit Avery but what he did do was just as bad, but when he goes to pick her up at the airport he notices just how more beautiful she's become, but Avery still sees the boy from high school can Wes get her to see the changed man he's become? This was an amazing read and i was honored to be given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Remy Blake you have gained a new fan. Hopefully Avery's sister will get her own book, would love to see that story.
The dynamic duo of Remy Blake is back! One word to describe Clipped is FUN! This book got better and better as it went along. This is one comical and frustrating love/hate relationship. I loved the banter between Avery and Wes. This is classic boy likes girl, boy is mean to girl story.... I kept waiting for Avery to knee Wes where the sun does not shine. He was so obnoxious and cocky, but beneath all his stupidity was a very sweet guy. I loved Avery. She is a fiesty spitfire. This girl really knows how to put Wes in his place despite her obvious attraction to him. I loved the push/pull between them. I desperately wanted them to attack one another. The sexual tension was insane! Clipped went from a rom com to pure romance. Wes had me swooning. This is a perfect pool or beach read.
So Flannel and Wolfs and Wood are my new favorites! Thanks Remy. Clipped is a sweet and funny and down right awesome story. Avery and Wes are wonderfully written characters. Their banter is definitely my favorite part of the whole book. "I wonder if Avery wants to pet my wolf." I know I do!!!! Wes is the perfect yummyness. Ummm Helloo!!! Lumberjack, Beard, loves kids, Dirty Talker, Beard, Wood, Large Wood, kind, Beard!!!!! Y'all are gonna love what I would say is an amazingly sweet and funny story about finding happiness and letting the past go. Enemies or Lovers??? Grab now to see for yourself!!!
Hmm I'd love to say this was smutty with a bit of heart, but it honestly wasn't that smutty. This was a bit of a fun enemies to frenemies to lovers.
Wes used to bully Avery in high school. Giving her a mean nickname. She knew he was just poking some fun and it got taken too far because other people join in. She vows to herself that as soon as she can she's leaving her home town and staying gone.
Fast forward ten-ish years later and Avery is heading back home after successfully making a home somewhere else. She's back because of some family problems! What she doesn't realize is how close her family has become with Wes since she's been gone.
Her worst nightmare is now basically part of her family! Will they end up falling back into old ways? Will they have a new type of tension between them? Read and find out.
I thought this was a good and quick read. If you like the whole bully becomes the lover then this would be good for you. Some of the hero's actions are a bit immature, and the heroine as well. Do I think it's ok for someone to bully the person they have a crush on... no. Learn to express yourself with your words. But do I realize this is a story? Yes. So I enjoyed it.
I was pulled right into this story. This is the first story I read by this author and I was not disappointed. I will have to go back and read more stories. The story has laughs, pain, secrets, and heartbreak.
This is Avery and Wesley’s story. Avery left her small town never to return but when she is forced home to take care of her mother. She knows things from the past are going to make her crazy. The only job she can get is with Wesley Steele. Wesley made her school years hard. Now he wants to bother her again in her adult life. Wesley wants to bother her in a different way now. He wants her but after what he did in high school he must convince her to give him a chance. Can she give him a chance? Does she want to?
I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.
In the prologue Wesley Steele is nothing but a jackass, well he comes across as a jackass. He started calling Avery, and you don't know why in the beginning but by the end you do. Avery has to come home to West Virginia because her mom has had a stroke. She hasn't been home in 8 years because of Wesleys behavior in high school. Guess who picks her up from the Airport? Wesley. He even has the Anal Avery sign and it makes her mad all over. But then he NEEDS her help for a day to be his secretary and that turns into more. Along with their friendship. Wes is determined to show her how good he , the big bad wolf, can be. It was a good read. First book I read by this author. Now I'm intrigued to read Lucy and Magnus' story that I'm sure is to come going by the epilogue
Solid 3.5 star read! Great enemies to lovers romance! Avery is as OCD as they come and Wes just loves to poke the perfect bear while they are in high school. She takes the first bus out of Piney View WV and doesn’t come back for 8 years when tragedy strikes.
Both of them have changed and Wes wants to be seen as more than the mean jokester he was when they were younger. He has his work cut out for him!
I really liked the banter between them and they were hot between the sheets! I’m enjoying reading this authors works!
Angst⭐️⭐️ Cheating None Sexy Time ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Epilogue ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Plot⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
'You'll fall in love with me soon enough,'(Wes) 'Love? Please,I barely like you' (Avery)
Another Hot,Enjoyable read from this Male/Female Author Duo,that felt a bit different from what we've had before from them-not so much of 'Taboo' side to the story this time round-(okay there is a reference to a subject which is often thought of as such-used in nickname for Avery) Anyway, you'll see for yourselves when you read. As the blurb states,Avery has been away from her hometown for a few years, and on her return she comes into contact with Wes,(who was part responsible for her need to get away in the first place) An enemies to friends/lovers tale unfolds, with some humorous banter,DUAL POV's, the inevitable HOTNESS,dating Apps,misunderstandings..great side character's,with the hope of more[Avery's sister Lucy should have her own tale] even with it wrapping up on the fast side towards the end-This Author Duo work well together, and I can't wait to see what they come up with next!
Reviewing for ROCK HARD ROMANCE by Vicki RHR RATING 5*/5
That's a word! Wes made me want to get Lumbersexual with his bad self. (heehehehe)
Remy Blake continue to bang out excellence. These two are fantastic writers on their own and even better when they put their two masterminds together and become Remy Blake. The chapters are seamless, with character banter that will make you laugh till you cry.
Wes and Avery start off as enemies. Avery wants nothing to do with him, but Wes is relentless in his pursuit.
The chemistry is off the hook between these two. Once again, I am reminded of why I am in love with this author Duo
Clipped by Remy Blake was a good enemies to lovers novella. The fiery banter between Wes and Avery was laugh out loud funny but them constantly trying to one up each other is what kept me turning the pages.
Avery is back in her hometown for the first time in 8 years. Only to come face to face with the reason she left in the first place... Wesley Steele. And upon first sightings, he is still the cocky, arrogant jerk that she remembers. But only problem she isn't that OCD little girl anymore. Avery is a sassy spitfire that brings Wes to his knees, and he loves every minute of it. And with each passing day, she gets to see the sweet protective and hardworking man he became. Which makes her growing attraction to him more confusing and her desicion to return to California or stay that much harder.
But will Wes continue to be the man he is now, or is he the same boy that made her leave all those years ago??
This is my favourite Remy Blake book!! The banter, the sexual tension, the highs and the lows of Wes and Avery's story is just one hit after another. Such and easy and so freaking entertaining to read, I will tell everyone and their dog about this one!!! Well freaking done you two! LOVED.IT!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Avery hated Wes for what he put her thru in high school, so she fled her hometown after she graduated and has not been back for eight long years. The only reason she has come back now, was due to her mother being in a coma, and she feels guilty about that. Wes could not believe the hot woman Anal Avery turned out to be, and he admitted to himself that he has always been attracted to her, so he sets out to win her over. The bantering between these two is funny and you can't help but root for them. I hope that Lucy gets her story, hopefully with Magnus, and we get to find out what happend with Jeremy's father.
Another hot quick read by Remy Blake!!!! You guys have managed it again bringing us another quick book that draws us in and keeps us hooked until the end! This is the story of hot manly lumberjack Wes and quiet studious Avery.. going through high school together leaves Avery seeing Wes in the worst way.. what will happen when she has to go back to their small town to look after a poorly relative?!! Does everyone deserve a second chance? Definitely recommend this book!
Avery left her hometown eight years ago. While she misses her family, she does not miss the hell she went through in school. Constantly picked on because she liked everything a certain way. She's headed home to deal with a family emergency. She's no longer Anal Avery, and she won't take anyone's crap anymore.
Wes is all grown up these days. Owning a tree removal company and participating in lumberjack competitions certainly help. Avery still sees him as the offensive jerk he was back in school. It's up to him now to show her that he's not the jerk he used to be.
This was my first book by the duo making up Remy Blake. I really enjoyed this one as one of my favorite genres. I love a good emenoes to lovers story, and they really brought the humor and heat into this one. I loved the instamt chemistry between Wes and Avery. She resisted beautifully, but Wes wasn't having it. There was a slow burn that you could just watch ignite and get brighter until the heat exploded off the pages. From beginning to end I was captured by the sweet, witty, and sexy moments. The dual pov was important to the story. It was nice to get both sides and how they each felt about everything that happened in the past. And of course, I loved reading how each had changed over the years. This was brilliantly written. I always love finding new authors that I enjoy!
Remy Blake is brand new to me and my kindle but that will soon be changing fast if this is any reflection of future writing. I've been digging these shorter books that are hot, steamy, and pack a serious punch... throw in a second chance at love and I'm hook, line and sinker.
Clipped was the perfect novella with just enough sexual tension, steam, and romance that you will be all in your feels and swooning to the max. Avery and Wesley were perfect in every single way... with great banter, undeniable chemistry, and an amazing epilogue that have us a sneak into the next in this series.
