I was looking for a scholarly commentary on Revelation written from a pretribulation rapture perspective and somebody mentioned this book. Unfortunately this book is far from scholarly. It contains some very strange ideas, such as the idea that the Antichrist will be a homosexual (a misreading of Daniel 11.37). I was particularly interested in the assertion that Revelation says the Great Tribulation will last seven years, an idea I can find nowhere in that book. On the contrary, Revelation seems to say the tribulation will last 3.5 years. In an appendix the author refers us to Revelation 7.9-17 in reference to a 7 year tribulation. Although that section references a Great Tribulation, it says nothing about its length.
I found this statement telling: "Until recently, Revelation was approached with intellectualism, carnal understanding or fear." In other words, nobody understood Revelation until modern Christians, living at the close of history, have finally understood it. Isn’t it weird that throughout history Christians of every period have understood themselves to be living at the close of history? If all those other Christians were wrong, it seems likely to me that present day Christians are wrong as well.
