Francine Paula Pascal was an American author best known for her Sweet Valley series of young adult novels. Sweet Valley High, the backbone of the collection, was made into a television series, which led to several spin-offs, including The Unicorn Club and Sweet Valley University. Although most of these books were published in the 1980s and 1990s, they remained so popular that several titles were re-released decades later.
SWEET VALLEY UNIVERSITY Written by Francine Pascal General Review for series as I cannot remember each novel.
I read Sweet Valley University when I was in junior high school to high school. While there is sexual content it is very mild (not explicit) compared to teen books today. If you like the Sweet Valley High you will love this series as it continues with the twins' story as they attend University and are away from their parents. I am not sure how they would relate to teens today as this was before cell phones were common and social media. They are fun teen romances with "real-life" situation. I did not complete the series as I started to save for school so I wasn't able to collect them any further (they are out of print). I still have the books I bought and may try to read one again (I did reread the series a few times).
The characters here filled my childhood and it's my first time reading SVU. The story and pacing feels pretty light-hearted, despite the heavy subjects mentioned here. Cheating, sickness, and a possible mystery. Even though the story centers around Elizabeth's love life, I am more intrigued by Tom Watts's life in this book, and what mystery he found relating to Elizabeth and his father. Sweet Valley High Super Thriller are my favorites growing up, because it's an easy read but also have a lot of suspense in them. I guess I'm not one to read romance a lot. All in all, again, this book is an easy and fun read.

I’m so glad they’re back together, I personally never liked Tom, Todd and Elizabeth are the OG and they’re super cute. I definitely wasn’t expecting Gin’s secret to be a tumour, I thought she was pregnant or something.. but I’m glad she isn’t. It definitely went from 0-100 real quick at the end though.

Well, folks, you can tell from the title that this volume of Sweet Valley University won’t be a happy one. Since it’s sandwiched in between the very sad previous book and the next book entitled One Last Kiss, you’re in for a bit of drama with the Wakefield twins and their friends.
Elizabeth’s titular heartache continues in this book, as the two men in her life, Tom and Todd, bandy her heart around like a tennis ball. This book feels like a continuation of its predecessor, with one small addition: Todd’s girlfriend gets some page-time in this book. And while you’re always supposed to be on the side of Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield, you can’t help but feel very sorry for Gin-Yung, since she’s completely in the dark about her boyfriend’s wandering affections. And, as you read her sections, you can tell she has another reason to be upset. It’s quite a build-up, and not a pleasant one, that’s only resolved during the next book. You’ll need your tissues for these three SVU books. I was usually partial to Jessica, the fun, flighty twin, but even my heart went out to Liz in her hours of need during these three books. Jessica’s part of the plot is rather silly, so it’s easy to focus on her other half for a while.
