this was an ok book it was not really catching me with information but it was a good book. it is a fairly easy book to read. A lot of reading but also a lot of information that i did not find interesting. i gave it a 3 star rateing because itvwas a good story but i did not find interesting. i recemend this book to people who like to read. also to people who like to try somthing new for a graphic novel.
i didnt enjoy this one compared to other graphic books ive read. it was hard to keep up with the storyline, too many characters, changing scenes too frequently, not so interesting. i wonder if the book is better.) will i ever read it? probably not. esp since i now know the story in short... i will watch the movie.
Having just read the full unabridged version of Great Expectations, by Charles Dickens, and then followed up with this Classical Comics Graphic Novel version I am more than a little bit impressed. the excellent quality of art and text created a true depiction of Charles Dickens story as it was meant to be told. There were only very minor omissions that did not affect the story in the least. The entire staff of Classical Comics deserve to take a bow, and I am certain that Charles Dickens would also approve. In case I wasn't clear, This was a Good Read. very much true to the original and much easier to read.
This was done well with all the graphics. A story about a man who tries to figure out what he wants from life. He tries to better himself and then is not sure whether he wants to be that person or just a commoner. Enjoy!
This is a great adaptation of Dickens' novel. I didn't realize I had forgotten so much of the story. I think Viney did a good job condensing the plot into a very manageable story to present in graphic novel form and to JH/SH students.
Great story, rather abrebiated version. Definately a shortcut, but I got the gist. I'll probably read the original when I have time, but now I know what happens. Oh well, it will lead me to check out more Dickens at least.
I enjoyed this book more than the actual Great Expectations ... Ok there was less detail, but that made for a faster and clearer book. The pictures were so beautiful and helped to guide me through the often intertwined plot. The language was also clearer and all in all just a nice story.
The actual story is good. NOthing is BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL BOOK VERSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It feels like cheating a little bit. I read teh original first which is so fantastic
