I think this was the strongest of the trilogy, which makes sense as it’s the last one. There’s no denying that the writing is not technically the best, and it feels like it was written for a younger audience than it’s actually intend for - but there is no denying that this series is fun. I’ve grown attached to these characters and I would LOVE to see more from how their lives progress. It’s been a ride, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it.

Not sure about the rating yet, but it's something around 2.75 to 3 stars 🤷‍♀️

This whole trilogy could have been so much better you guys.
I kept complaining about the writing style in book 1 and 2 and unfortunately book 3 has not changed my opinion on it.
Reading felt almost boring because the writing was boring (even though it probably wasn't the intention to be boring lol) but the short sentences, the overuse of dashes (yes, I'm super fussy about punctuation but hey) and repetition of describing things, feelings or whatever just killed the reading experience for me.
Just the way how the same information or even the same words were used time and time again made me feel like I wasn't moving forward in the plot.
Yes Octavius was old but do you have to point it out....how many times? I literally started counting the repetitions for some words/descriptions but at some point I stopped because I was just annoyed.

By and large it was nice seeing how the story came to an end but I'm left feeling underwhelmed.

***Spoilers for Book 1 and 2***

1.5 Stars

Storm is on Piloria with her father.
Lincoln is back on Earthasia, where poverty and starvation have increased ten-fold
When a group of 300 or so disembark Earthasia to Piloria in hope of setting up a new life for humans, Lincoln can't help pointing out every mistake the new leaders mistake,,, but also secretly hopes he'll find Storm again.

There were no character arcs or drive.
They were all pointlessly the same at the start of the series as they were at the end. They were shadows of real people.

Specifically, no character agency for Storm. I mentioned this in my rant-y review of Exile [linked down below, because I am lazy]. But she is saved every single time. By men.

"Maybe you haven't noticed, but most of the time she saves herself"

This is some Fake NewsTM

Also, newsflash. There were like no women??? It was really annoying??? Like??? You know you can't save humanity??? Without??? Women???

Like I wrote at one point: Who run the world? Guys apparently

The plot was "Enter Piloria. Deal." Nothing else. And sure that could've been fine, at a stretch. But it wasn't so it isn't so.

Less dinosaurs. Where are the dinosaurs? I read this series FOR THE DINOSAURS. If I wanted to read a mediocre book about humanity trying to survive in a new environment I would've read The 100 again. DINOSAURS. I swear to god.

The romance could've been slow burn, but the lead up to it was shoved aside so it went acquaintances to we're making out now. No in between.

Less dinosaurs feeds into less stakes [which I forgot to talk about, whoops, anyway] which feeds into less plot which feeds into less character agency which feeds into me throwing this book out the window me having severe frustration.

Random Side Thought: I love the whole scene with the spider cause it's literally [insert accent here] 'Stralia

Also, when your reading about the electric fences, having watched Jurassic Park and knowing how poorly it's going to end.

Trigger and Content Warnings: starvation, poverty, previous loss of loved one, death, use of the word cr*zy, use of the word k*oky

YES THOUGH. I can’t say too much without being spoilery. But my gosh this was brilliant. It was tense and action packed and interesting and just brilliant. I’d missed these characters and this world so much!

Oh extinction trials, I have missed you!

It took me a couple of chapters to remember what happened at the end of Exile, and to deal with there being so many characters about more of the time, but once I had that nailed this book was absolutely everything I wanted. Pure dinosaur perfection!

For a start, it’s finally more about piloria than earthasia, and it’s also more about living with the dinosaurs. There’s still conflict, which is really well done - I love a good bit of political drama!

Storm in particular really seems to be coming into her own even more by the end too. In fact, despite this benign the last book in the series, I would definitely say it’s open ended and left open for the possibility of more. I’m not going to ruin anything by saying why, but i could definitely see another follow up in future. That said, if we don’t get one, we don’t need it. It’s perfectly done.

I also loved that this is book 3 and Wilson is still managing to surprise and scare us with the dinosaurs. There’s still new things to learn!

I’m already tempted to reread this series, highly recommended!

What a way to wrap up the series!

This series has been a wild ride and I can honestly say I’ve loved every single second of it. When I picked up the very first book I never envisioned where it would all end.
There were so many unpredictable moments, so many touching scenes that really pulled on my heart strings and I lost count of how many times I sped through a chapter flying through the high paced action.

This series never failed to capture my attention and immerse me into a world of lush green, killer dinos and comfort characters. This is something I definitely one day will come back to, for sure. I imagine this probably would be even better the second time around, I’m already feeling nostalgic.

This series was extremely addictive; I simply couldn't wait to read the final installment (?) until payday. It might not be the last one though, since it seems some things are left unfinished, but I would be happy with this ending. I got to see more of the dinosaurs, which is all I've wanted from this series. I could STILL have done with more though, and more explanation!

Still though, I really enjoyed what I've read so far. I liked the characters and their developing relationships. It isn't exactly as advertised (Hunger Games and Jurassic Park) but it was still good. Four stars.

A great read for younger readers or people who just need something that is not emotionally heavy! I enjoyed the characters, the storyline and the ending! Think of it as a less traumatic hunger games but with dinosaurs. Got some action, adventure and a lot less death 👍 all in all a good series that I enjoyed reading.

I raced through this book. This book is a perfect ending to an incredible, innovative and compelling series. I was so looking forward to reading this as I absolutely fell in love with the first one, and although I was slightly disappointed with the second, I was not giving up on this series, and I am SO glad I didn't!

Obviously, the characters are still awesome, and although they're constantly changing, adapting and growing, they still stay true to themselves and I love every single one of them. Their friendships are just so special! Speaking of characters, the frustration I had as a reader with Silus is just something else! His character is just portrayed perfectly; completely ignorant, arrogant and self centred, it's totally frustrating and you feel like you're there with Storm and Lincoln, wanting to shout at him with them.

This book had me hooked the entire way through. I had no idea how this book was going to end, it could have gone in any direction and I love how there is no indication which way it's going to go. This is one of the reasons I wanted to keep reading - I just needed to know how it would end!

From start to finish, the story is engaging and full of emotion. There's sadness and anger, mixed with happiness and hope and just pure intensity the entire way through. It was an adventurous read and I loved every second.

Overall, this book just completed the series perfectly, I could not have asked for a better ending, I am so happy! If you have not read this series, read it, read it, READ IT! I love Piloria, it's one of my new favourite fictional places, I completely fell in love with it and I'm going to miss it so much!

S.M. Wilson - Thanks for such an awesome book series!

Started and finished date – 20.11.25 to 28.11.25.
My rating – Three Stars.
This book was okay read and it was a fine ending end of a series but I still didn't love it. I think people who like Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton or the dinosaur four by Geoff Jones may like is book. The cover of the book was simple but stunning and I think the colour palette at was used on the cover of book was great. The writing was okay, and the writing was easy to follow also the ending of book was fine. I think the setting of the book was still somewhat enjoyable and I think the atmosphere was fine but could be better.

I think the author did an okay job weaving both fantasy and science fiction together and the world building was still interesting. The romance was fine, but it was little bit boring, and the romance still need some tweaking. I found the paced in the book was well structured and steady paced. The characters was okay and they needed to be flash out bit more

This was... ok? Slightly disappointing, I had hoped I would love this. But overall it was a good conclusion to the series, and mostly wrapped up everything necessary. I found myself skimming parts and a little bit bored at times, hence the rating, but other sections were exciting and a lot of fun to read. I'm glad I have completed this series finally, and I did enjoy how unique and different this series is compared to so many YA books out there, so I would recommend giving it a go.

This series is the best set of bad books I've read in a long time. It was so fun to read, I read the lot in a few days, but I would agree that the books are objectively eh.

A fantastic end to the trilogy, I really enjoyed this story and it is so unique. I now want to read more books with dinosaurs!
The writing was really good and the contribution of building the knowledge of the dinosaurs and the atmosphere on Piloria was great. I felt as if I was there at times, seeing what the characters saw.
I felt the ending lacked a little and there wasn't enough about how they would cope but it was still a fantastic series with a strong female lead. I also loved that Lincoln stood by Storm as she made decisions and supported her. It was really empowering to see such a smart and brave female lead.

Probably one of the strongest in the series but still suffers the same setbacks that kept these from being really great.

“Rebel” finds Lincoln dealing with the fallout of over population as his hunt for the cure left his home with deadly consequences and when the opportunity presents itself to go back to the land of the dinosaurs he doesn’t hesitate but the reunion is not what he expected.

I really love the overall idea of this series and I think this book spoke to what it was going for in terms of how we as a society take advantage of the natural resources we have in favor of trivial things like wealth and power without any care that those things we take for granted may soon run out. Lincoln’s struggle with what he has done to save his sister and the consequence of too many people staying alive was a very real world ethical question as to what do you care for the individual and or the masses and it was nice to see that explored.

Returning to the island was great because again it brought in some of those same practices where humans run things down and destroy what they don’t know or understand without taking the time to do so and that’s where it was nice to see Storm and the other survivors of the trial who had every reason to what to kill be the strongest advocates for co habitation.

The biggest setback for me was the adults in this they were written in a very stereotypical manner with almost childlike bickering back and forth that I’m not sure was done on purpose to better convey their inexperience with this new world but it just didn’t work for me. The villain in this was very much a caricature of what we come to expect with these kinds of stories where the one man in charge finds himself slowly losing his grip and descending into poorly written chaos that didn’t manage to work for me in the end.

Overall I think this was a very ambitious addition to the young adult world that I’m not sure will get the recognition it deserves but I would definitely recommend it.

Sometimes you read a book just because you want to know the end of the story and not because the writing is that intriguing. I loved the idea of people trying to survive on a land filled with dinosaurs, but literary wise it was not very complex nor were the characters very deep or developed. Totally would recommend this to my brother or other people around the age of 15, and yes I will totally read these kinds of books again in the future, but not because the writing in itself fulfills me, but because the story is enchanting enough to continue. It fits the ‘young adult’ genre perfectly.

A lot more original than the last two books, but if I’m honest it wasn’t the conclusion I was looking for. It felt a little more like a filler than a finale. I have a lot of unanswered questions that I don’t think will ever be answered. There was a lot of suggestion/implication in the final 50 or so pages but no real substance. Sadly, fell flat. Also, yet another one of my favourite characters died in this one. Still, most of them are alive. Either way, I did still appreciate most of this book.

I actually quite enjoyed this series. I found the tropical setting magical and the idea of dinosaurs inhabiting the same space both terrifying and thrilling. I ended up feeling for the characters and rooting for them and enjoying their complex relationship development. As mentioned in my earlier review, I do feel that it lacks description in the writing style which I feel would really enhance the readers experience... but whatever it lacked in writing, I managed to fill with imagination.

Tiez mi vsak niekolko veci nesedelo, preco nemali lepsie zbrane, atd.
Ale bavila som sa.

Rebel
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was captivating, and I adored the build up throughout this book - I didn't want to put it down. Storm, Octavius and Reban were wonderful together, and I thoroughly enjoyed their time together on the pages. Lincoln grew on me even more than I thought possible. Dell made me so mad the whole time, he didn't deserve Storm and her friendship

Good series! Gave me a lot of Jurassic Park feels which was exactly what I was looking for. I would have liked the ending to be a bit more explosive / suspense filled than how it panned out but would definitely recommend this series to YA fans.
