Rather disappointing
Basic premise was good. Had the whole of the story been as detailed and fleshed out like the sex scenes were, this could have been a 4+ star rating. I am far from a prude but the sex scenes read more like a sex manual for someone who's never had sex. Way overboard. Anything that wasnt sex related felt stilted and incomplete. They did this, she said that. Meh. Just way too incomplete. A Harlequin romance book with porn thrown in. Again, just meh.

Vanessa Caldwell was questioning the woman sitting across from her who said she was a cougar shifter. Nessa hadn’t been able to scent her and asked again for verification. Nessa was a matchmaker and was good at her job. The woman wanted only the most powerful match. Nessa explained most of the alphas already found their mate and she suggested some second-in-command shifters. The woman was insulting toward them, calling them second rate. She clearly was trying to force Nessa into something. Nessa told her the only alpha was Caz Frost, and she watched the woman’s demeanor change with a sly smile. Going by instinct, Nessa told her she was sorry, but Caz was not available. Hillary Housel threatened her business and stormed out of the office.
Caz owned a garage and was a good man. Working on a woman’s tire, he noted some other small things that needed fixing. She had small children and it looked like money was tight, so he didn’t charge her for the things he fixed on his own. It would save her bigger costs later on. But money was tight for him lately. He was moving closer to the red all the time and couldn’t figure where the money was going.
As Caz went over the books again, Hillary walked into his office. He smelled dead things that had rotted. She was a witch and he knew she had put another spell on him to tolerate her until his bear growled, clawed, and roared at her. She had almost cost him his business by enchanting him – and not in a good way. He ordered her to get out!
Miles had a chance to talk to his sister-in-law, Nessa. He told her she was lonely and, although she tried to deny it, it was true. He told her to let someone else match her. Then he recommended Caz! No, he was a hot head who roared commands. The match would never work.
As a small housecat-shifter, Nessa was a loner who did not have a pack for protection. She heard a crash outside and checked that all the doors were locked. She ran on her treadmill, showered, and went back to bed, forgetting about the strange sound. The next morning, her car started acting up, and she coasted into Caz’ garage before it died on her. She didn’t have the money for the diagnostics, so Caz asked her on a date and he would check the car off the books. Before she could say no, the woman he had helped earlier ran in to pay him for the things he didn’t charge her for. He told her to spend the money on the children instead. Nessa had not expected that. When he drove her home from the garage that night since her car was not fixed yet, he warned her to avoid Hillary. And that night, her nightmare woke her, surrounding her with fear and danger! The howl of a cat in pain came from outside, and when she looked up, the cat had been hung and was dead. Her doors started to rattle and shake, someone trying to get in, as she dialed the garage in fear. She shut down, speechless in terror, eyes closed – until arms went gently around her and Caz held her close. He knew this was Hillary’s attack on Nessa. How could he protect Nessa from the witch? Where could Nessa go to be safe?
This was a fantastic addition to the matchmaker series! Once again, the author makes the reader care about the characters. Their realistic emotions and behaviors make them believable to the reader. And the story line at once grabs the reader’s interest. A good story line, good pacing, good character development – all the things you need for a great reading experience!

Loved it
Matchmaker Vanessa "Nessa" Caldwell has matched all her friends. She is happy they are all happy and she even has a baby niece to spoil. Nessa now feel like she is being left behind. Her brother in law pushes her to find her own match. He pushes her toward the last single alpha in the area, Caz Frost.
Casimer "Caz" Frost, bear shifter and the Monterey Alpha. He is struggling to hold his pack together. A one night stand puts him in the power of a witch. It took months, but he managed to free himself, but the damage was done. His leadership is in question. The witch still has some power over him, if he isn't careful she will pull him under again.
Nessa car trouble lands her at Caz's auto repair shop. Her brother in law has tried his hand a match matchmaking and she finds herself going on a date with Caz. Caz's bear and Nessa's cat have taken a liking to one another. Their human parts are fighting it. Nessa doesn't see Caz as mate material. Caz can only see the danger he is putting her in, and wants to protect her. The witch already knows who Nessa is. She wants Caz and the power his pack can provide.
Caz make his decision, to protect Nessa and his pack, he give everything up and puts himself in the witches power. He underestimates his mate. She is bringing a warlock to the fight. She may be a tiny house cat, but her cat is fearless. She is going to fight for her mate or die trying.
Fast paced and steamy. Loved Nessa and Caz. Can't wait for the next book. I love Emilia's books. They are an automatic buy for me.

Nessa is a terrific matchmaker for shifters. But not so great for herself. She is a cat shifter and is very content in many ways. Caz is all alpha male and a bear shifter at that so he must be brutal - mustn't he? But when she has tyrouble with her car and goes to his garage for help she finds out that he isn't at all like she thought. In fact, he is rather nice! She'd like to go out with him. But there's a problem in the form of a wicked witch who wants him for herself and she will be mad if Nessa doesn't get him to go out with her instead!. Beautifully written by Emilia Hartley who is a fabulous paranormal author whose books I 'discovered' a couple of years ago and I've been reading them ever since as they are just so well written with great storylines and fascinating characters. I loved 'meeting' Nessa and Caz and they were just so good together. The air seemed to practically sizzle whenever they were together. I love bear shifter stories, in particular, and I think this is the best one yet so I really do encourage you to read this for yourself. This is yet another well written, entertaining paranormal romance featuring characters we first met in The Bear’s Matchmaker. When a woman claiming to be a cougar shifter, enlists the services of Nessa the shifter matchmaker, something about the woman seems off to Nessa. When the woman expresses an interest in Caz Frost, the arrogant Monterey alpha, Nessa refuses to make the match based on her unfavourable opinions of Caz formed from his brutish treatment of her sister Lia. This infuriates the woman and she threatens Nessa’s business. Nessa’s bad feelings about her client are proven correct as the woman is revealed to be a witch – a determined one with a dark agenda that involves Caz. Certain that Caz is her true mate and desperate to help him, Nessa agrees to a temporary alliance with a dangerous stranger, who it seems has his own agenda for the witch – one that involves Nessa. When the dust finally settles, who will ultimately triumph? This story delivers some drama, intrigue, shifter action and some very steamy scenes!

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we get Nessa Caldwell's story and Caz Frost. Nessa is starting to think that maybe she should just give up her matchmaking business and move to another place. However there is a part of her that isn't ready to throw in the towel yet. She knows she wants to meet her mate but so far all she can see is other's mates. Caz once was hooked up with a witch and since then his business has taken hits left and right. When Nessa comes get work done on her car Caz sees a side of the matchmaker he has never seen before. Can they find a HEA or will outside forces make sure that never happens?
This is an amazing book. It has its ups and downs that I really want to tell you about. However I don't want to ruin the story for any other readers. This book can be read as a stand alone but I would advise you read the entire series so no secrets are revealed before you have read the other books. I will say though this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

I wanted to read the whole series finished before posting my thoughts on it in the hopes that the author would get better but alas it didn't happen.
There's so much potential here but there's so much wrong too.
The characters spend way too much time in their own heads, that's 80% of the story, and not enough time actually talking to each other and getting to know each other. For eg. a kiss is shared and then over-analyzed by a character for a full three paragraphs before the next bit of interaction happens. Where's the reality? I hate reading books where I'm lost in a character's head and they're repeating the same thing over and over again.
Also, each story had very minimal interaction with the supporting characters. The author spent so much time and space on head thoughts and processes there was no real space for interaction. The sex scenes also feels like a forced connection and it was because there wasn't any. Maybe marginally with Nik and Monica and their prank war but that was it.
Lets hope that can be improved and we can get better stories because the raw materials is already there.

When a new client asks Nessa to match her with a powerful alpha she told her that they were all taken and offered a different choice. Hillary wasn't taking no for an answer especially when it came to Caz. All of Nessa's friends were trying to fix her up with Caz but she didn't think they were a good match. However when she goes to his garage for help with her car Caz offers to do it for free in exchange for a date with her. Caz knows that Hillary is a witch and that she is after him but he never thought that she would go after Nessa as a way to attack at him. When Nessa needs him most he shows up to keep her safe but will he be able to keep her safe from someone like Hillary? Can Nessa and Caz be together with such a big obstacle in their way?
This is a great story once I started I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between Caz and Nessa is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this to any book lover.

Nessa, the matchmaker, is in her office early with a client. The client is a woman who is haughty and slightly off to Nessa. She tells her that all the alpha's are taken except one and she wouldn;t wish that one on her worse enemy. This seems to infuriate the woman and she leaves but not before causing Nessa some fear time. The next day Nessa finds herself at the garage which Caz owns. He has been advised by another alpha that Nessa has a thing for him so he asks her out. Nessa is totally surprised by that invite. Later at home she is rudely awakened and totally frightened out of her mind and she calls Caz. He tells her that the woman she saw the other morning is not a shifter but a witch. Nessa tells him to get himself together and take care of his problem then see her. Life becomes complicated when the witch steps in and starts a lot of intrigue.

Casimir Frost is an Alpha Bear with a reputation of being an absolute pain in the butt, even his pack walks softly when near him. What no one knows is he has a heart of gold for those that need his help. Years ago he was in love with a witch who used magic and spells to enthrall him - and now she's back and she has big plans for Caz and his pack.
I'm giving 5 stars for this entertaning story that kept me interested and continued with the story line and characters from the earlier matchmaker books, "Her True Alpha Match" and "Her Alpha Mismatch".

I've read several books by this author and I'm never disappointed with the experience. I've read the previous books in the Matchmaker series and loved how Vanessa, Nessie, was always able to find a match for her clients. Some of those matches I seriously wondered about, but the girl has a gift. I was sad that she never seemed to find her own mate. I loved that she had her possible mate's file for months. I also loved how close the previous characters all are together. I also like the addition of witch magic in this book. My favorite parts are when we get to see the gooey parts of these bad-a$$ alphas that have such bad reputations. I love Nessie's animal. She is fearless, hardheaded and very possessive. The part that irritates me is an alpha's conviction to "protection" whether you want it or not. I love this series and hope that Nessie isn't done with her business. I volunteered to read an advanced reader copy and am under no obligation to leave this review.

I love Emilia Hartley’s stories she is one clever author and I always enjoy reading her books, and this is book 4 of the Matchmaker series. Nessa Caldwell owns a matchmaking business she has a knack for setting up shifters with their mates but she has no luck in finding her mate until Caz Frost. Caz is a alpha bear shifter a grumpy bad tempered bear who no one wants to be mated to apartfrom a nasty witch. One day a woman comes into Nessa’s matchmaking office she didn’t smell like a shifter so there is more to Hillary Housel than meets the eye because when she left in a huff Nessa had pain in her chest and no shifter can do that. That’s all I’m giving you guys so if you want to know more then read Emilia’s blurb and that will give you the gist to this story. A fantastic story a 5 plus ⭐️ read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Vanessa, the matchmaker from the series, Matchmaker has matched many of the local shifters as well as the Alphas, and each has produced a successful relationship , even those that were questionable- but not for herself.
When confronted by a new client, something seems off especially since she only wants to be connected to a specific Alpha: one with the temper and a rough reputation.
Emilia Hartley's characters are believable and her settings in this series real. As usual, the heat content is scorching and humor abounds. This book, Her Enchanted Alpha Match is a page turner with some uncertainty- enough to keep reading long past bedtime.

We finally get Nessa's story and she is considering giving up her matchmaking business. When a woman tries to maneuver her into setting her up as Caz's mate, she balks. For one thing she doesn't trust the woman's motive, or her scent. For another, she wouldn't wish Caz on anyone. Casimir is a hot head and rules his pack with an iron fist, or does he? When Nessa is forced to take her car to Caz's garage and sees him interacting with a woman he had secretly helped out, she starts to wonder what he is really like. When she agrees to go out on a date with him she has no idea what she is getting into.
Find out what happens when a witch is determined to get her claws into an Alpha's power and there is only a cat to try and foil her plan.

A really good shifter romance. 💞🐻 🐈💞
I love this series! This book is about Nessa and Caz and is so good! 💖
Nessa is the matchmaker of the series and she's been having a really good streak of luck setting everyone up with their fated mates. Now she's got a real challenge on her hands with her new client, Hillary. Hillary wants an alpha but there is something about her that makes Nessa nervous. When she threatens her business, Nessa finally sends her on to Caz but she doesn't feel good about it. This one is a bit different than the rest but it's really good and the connection between Nessa and Caz is amazing! 💕❣️💕
This is the fourth book in the series and probably should be read in the right order to get the most out of each one. 😍

This is the fourth and final book in this wonderful series and we finally get the story of Vanessa (Nessa) Caldwell the matchmaker that has helped all our previous books their mates Her brother in law pushes her to find her own true mate. The last unmated alpha in the area is Casimer "Caz" Frost He has been under the control of a witch he is fighting is way loose but he is also losing control of his pack. When car trouble finds Nessa stranded near his gagargae he steps into help her his bear yells mate. When the witch goes after him again he puts himself in her power to save is mate and pack but Nessa isn't giving him up without a fight. Another well written book by a very talented author I can't wait for her next series.

This was a great addition to The Matchmaker Series by the author, Emilia Hartley! I loved Caz and Vanessa's story so much! It had the right amount of drama, passion, some angst, and chemistry. The connection between Caz and Vanessa was undeniable and their instant connection despite some misconceptions made but later proven wrong didn't deter the insane hot chemistry that flowed between Caz and Vanessa aka Nessa ;)
Also, the secondary characters were great addition to their story. They had Caz and Vanessa's back no matter what and I loved that! This was an amazing addition to this series and I can't wait to see which story the author, Emilia Hartley is providing for us, her readers, next! :)

Finally Nessa gets her story!
Nessa has always been my favourite and now she gets her own story and I can't be more happy! I love the feisty little kitty cat as her beastie reminds me so much of my own beautiful queenie.
Caz is a a'hole but underneath he's a sweetie......but he hides it so deep that Nessa couldn't see it....until her sister and friends step in and mess with her life - and thank goodness they did.
Her kitty cat may be fearless but her human is not - she'll need to pick up her big girl panties in order to get and keep her fella, luckily her kitty cat is all for it!
I loved this story as it truly shows us not to judge a book by its cover. I really, really, REALLY loved the ending as it made me laugh so much!

When she finally agrees to give Caz, the annoying alpha bear, a chance she is surprised to find him actually anything but annoying. But as usual finding a happy end is not easy, especially when there is a scheming witch interfering.
Like the other stories of the "Matchmaker", book 4 is fun to read. There are lots of interesting characters, all well-developed and described and an enjoyable plot to the story. I really do hope this is not the last book of the series.

Ms. Hartley has done it again. Another beautiful story of the thrilling bear shifter an the women they fall hard hard for. In this one Caz is the Alpha of his pack and to show weakness would be a bad thing His problems come in a more deceptive package. He is feeling hard for the cure kitty shifter but he also don't want her in his misgivings. Nessa is a kitty shifter who has been a matchmaker for the shifter community. Now it's her turn but can she really take the risk with Caz? Well as you read you will find a thrilling chase and a lovely ending. Another great shifter tale from the talented pen of MSs. Hartley.

I believe this is the last in the Matchmaker series from Ms. Hartley. I liked all of them but this was the best for me. The fact that both Vanessa and Caz do not want to have mates but are, is somewhat expected. What is not is the danger that they face when a former lover of Caz's comes back determined to get him back at any cost. Finding out what she is and what she is capable of makes Vanessa very nervous but she is determined to protect her mate. Caz wants to do the same.
There is some action in this book but most of the story is suspenseful as we wait what is going to happen next. Like I said, I have read and liked all of them but this story just wrapped up the whole series nicely.

With super leads such as Nessa and Caz, a stunning backdrop and wonderful story-line, this story is fully engaging and amazingly easy to lose yourself in. Continuing with the Matchmaker series, I think this book is the best of the lot.
Magic forms the basis of the plot and with the creativity of Ms Hartley’s writing you lose yourself quickly in another land. The emotive interplay is wonderfully written. The characters are beautifully thought through, personalities based in real life, with honest relationships and real depth.
Seriously the best in the series, in my opinion – 5 out of 5 stars given.

Loved it! This series has been fantastic with a variety of shifter animals. This one is a cat, as in the domesticated kind many of us adore as our pets. This kitty is nobody's pet though. Always making a perfect match for those who pay for her services. She is shocked to realize she has even found a mate for herself. He is about the last man she would have expected and their story is very interesting. Loved the twists and turns. The destination (HEA) was well worth the ride. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a shifter story that is appealing and a bit different.

I've really enjoyed this series, and I think this is the best one of the bunch, because it is about our matchmaker, Nessa. Our hero is an Alpha Bear, but he has been hanging out with a witch who wants Caz and his pack. Our little feline, Nessa realizes that Caz is her mate and deigns to save Caz and his pack. I love watching the relationship between these two. Caz is not the fighter that we expect, but more the sacrificial type of male. Thankfully, Nessa is a fighter and we see a kitty cat take down a bear.

Shifter Magic
I've read all the stories in this series. This concluding book is fascinating. I found the plot of this novel captivating, bringing together shifters, previous series characters and, a new power, witches. The power struggles in the previous books were strictly between shifters, alphas or otherwise. This book brings in the uneasy, dangerous power struggle between a witch, an alpha and the powerful link of shifter mates. I've enjoyed all these books, but this one rises about the others by adding the tension of power between shifters and the unknown strength of dark mystical magic. This is a great series with a impressive conclusion.

An obnoxious witch client insists on being matched with the last remaining single alpha who has a reputation of being rude & harsh but Vanessa refuses. An unfortunate incident with her car leads her to said alpha and they seem to hit it off despite his reputation. The witch can't stand that and tries to get Vanessa to back away from the alpha she wants for herself.
I enjoyed this book about the unraveling romance and how the challenges & spells the couple was bombarded with brought them closer.
