" Franklin Grove est hantée! "

Sienna Mercer grew up in Toronto, Canada. She was an only child, and always wanted a brother or sister – especially a twin. A twin would have been awesome! Sadly, she never got that sister so, when she was grown up, she did the next best thing - she wrote books about a girl who reminded her of herself, and gave her the most fun, fabulous twin she could think of!

Sienna began writing stories when she was a teenager, on a very wet day in Toronto when her cheerleading practice was cancelled - and she has not stopped writing since. She used to write in red leather notebooks while sat on her bed, but now does most of her writing in her attic, which is quite dark, and has some spooky cobwebs in the corners - the perfect location for thinking about vampires. She doesn't use red notebooks anymore, either, although she keeps them in a chest by her desk in the attic.

Sienna got the idea for My Sister the Vampire from a daydream she had - what if she had a super-cool twin sister... who was a vampire? She loved the characters - and their kooky friends and family - so much that she just had to keep writing about them.

When she's not daydreaming about vampires and cheerleading, Sienna enjoys travelling and exploring new cities, and keeps a detailed scrapbook of everywhere she’s visited. She lives in Toronto, kept company by Calypso and Angel – her two gorgeous cats. She is happily writing away and we wait for her upcoming books!

So, I re-read this, and I have to admit it's not quite as undeviatingly incredible as I remembered it, so I've lowered my rating to four stars. I hate to be harsh about my favourite books series, but for me the first half of this instalment suffers from the same poor writing that the last four books have, and something about the representation of the characters just didn't click for me, particularly with Ivy and Charles. There were also so many cringe moments that could have been easily cut out but for some reason weren't. However, the second half was a vast improvement both writing and character-wise and I still think the new dimensions Mercer has added to the series with this book, and of course the ending, were really, really great.

Original review (30/11/15): I don't know how I can even begin to review this because I am literally still in shock from what happened at the end. Argh, I can't even articulate how excited I am about it! I will say that in the first half I didn't think much of the writing, and although that improved in the second half some things from the first half were kind of forgotten in the light of bigger things, but I'm still just going to give it five stars because that ending was everything I could have possibly hoped for and I'm just so excited!! This is my favourite series of all time and I'm so glad that this book was as good as it was, because to me the last couple of books weren't as good as the rest of the series. I cannot wait for the next book and overall I was very much impressed by this instalment in the series. A fun read!

Good book, the twins were at it again solving yet another mystery. This one had them more scared than ever. There are ghost lurking in town and the girls must stop the media circus that is about to hit Franklin Grove.

The book was so good. Like the drama and mystery! My favorite part was when Garrick dressed as a ghost. Lol.

I love this series. It got me into reading, writing and the supernatural. I hope the author can read this, because I want to know if there will be anymore? I really want to know what happens next.

I always loved my sister the vampire series because it was so good. I thought the series was finished after the sixteenth book but when I spotted the seventeenth book I was delighted. The seventeenth book was amazing. It was so mysterious and exciting. I love my sister the vampire series especially the seventeenth book. I can't wait for the eighteenth book. I hope the series will go on and on because it is the best series I have ever read in my entire life.
