This story was super cute. I didn't love the h but I more than enjoyed the banter between her and Matt. I liked how much she wanted to help her soror sisters and how determined she was NOT to enter the auction. Matt was definitely the star of this little story. Then again, rock stars usually are. But I loved how humble the author made him. He was really sweet and made this story into a great treat!

I read this series in May when I came across it. I am going to give my thoughts on all the books in the series in this single review only.

The books all are short novellas by different authors. They are short, sweet, steamy, smutty, angsty and can be read in one go when you’re not in the mood to read lengthy novels.

The series revolves around a group of sorority girls who come up with the idea to auction off their virginity online so that they can come up with money to help the brother of one of the sisters who is admitted in the hospital. Although not everyone likes the idea but still they agree since they all have each others back.

I found the concept intriguing and wanted to see how the authors worked it. I ended up liking all the books some more than the others and read them in two days straight. The stories were all good. My favourite out of all was Tall, Dark and Stormy.

If you’re looking angsty and steamy novellas, give this series a shot. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Yep, I'm pretty sure I've read this out of order, but since it reads like a standalone, I think I'm good. Loved this book!!!

Caroline is a member of the sorority that's auctioning off their virginity to help raise money to pay medical bills for a fellow sister's brother. But, there's a catch. She's not a virgin. She lost that to a guy she dated in high who she fell in love with only to be left when he went to college. But since she pledged virginity with her sorority, she feels stuck in the auction. Until she thinks about asking the college hot-as-sin band to help with a charity fundraiser to pay for her part. Yeah, that didn't go quite as planned.

Mathewson is super hot. He's in Caroline's Econ class and has been thinking about her for the entire semester. But when he receives an email from her asking his band to help with a fundraiser, he's taken aback and ends up sending a response that's less pleasant and more insulting. Thankfully, the email didn't piss her off too much, because she shows up at a practice to convince him. I don't think there's much convincing needed though....

I loved this book! Yes, the "storyline" can be a little standoffish. But once you get past all that, the journey to the end is well worth the read. In fact, it leaves you with a HEA with all the feels.

3 Shoot for the stars… and miss Stars
description

This is part of a standalone multiauthor event. They are short and typically medium on the heat factor. This is my second book of the series and its book 5. I missed nada! Which is great if you have a favorite author in this series and don’t feel like committing to a large series ( right now it’s a 5 book series and I am unsure if it’s the real end yet ) star crossed brings Caroline running to Mathewson in the hopes she can save her sorority and her virginity. This book occurs a few week prior to a virginity auction. This book wasn’t as well written as book 1 that I read because it did not have the character consistency and it gave you a bit of a whiplash. Caroline is strong, then weak, then confident, then thinks she’s ugly. Mathewson thinks sorority girls are sluts, but falls in love with Caroline after one conversation and they pretty much get physical on their first real conversation together. It’s okay to fall in instalove but I wasn’t really attached to either character. I feel Mathewson could have been an excellent character but he didn’t get the development to help him along. I never connected to Caroline at all.

This is part of a mini series by Carina Press. The series is called Sorority Secrets. They are quick short reads. Ideal for a quickie before bed time.

The girls in the Sorority are auctioning off their virginity for a cause close to their hearts. Caroline isn’t at all keen in this idea so goes after a local rock band to do a concert. She gets more than she bargained for when she meets the lead singer.

I thoroughly enjoyed this read. It’s short but a full story. I can’t believe this is my first read by this author. What was I thinking. I’ll be reading more from her in the future.

Whew. How often can one guy say “she’s not like other girls” in one novelette?

The Dirty Bits line is all about a quickly dirty HEA and I guess we got that, but the sex scenes were very short, frequent and not great? IDK, the whole thing fell flat for me.

Also remind me to never read about a sorority again.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I live for Stevie J Cole books and I was excited to dive into this one. With that being said, this was my least favorite book by her. I dont know if this being a novella had something to do with it but I felt blah while reading it. I liked it but there was nothing special about it. I can devour Stevie's books in one sitting but this one took me a while. It could also be this series cause I havent been loving any of the books ive read so far and they're written by different authors. Sometimes you need a full length book in order to appreciate the story and the author's talent.

This fifth (and final?) book in the Sorority Secrets is, in my opinion, the weakest link.

Granted, we’re not dealing with Pulitzer Prize caliber writing to begin with. These books aimed for short and steamy. They were a fun, entertaining way to pass a couple of hours. But the other books in this series - about sorority sisters who auction off their virginity to raise money after a fire at an animal shelter - for the most part had heart, and novella-level plot development. This story really didn’t…

Caroline is not in favor of participating in the auction - and not just because it’s a terrible idea. Instead, her plan to raise money is to get a campus band to play a benefit concert. She shoots off an email to the band, the band shoots her down. So she decides to confront them during a rehearsal.

Turns out the lead singer is the guy she sits behind in class and has been daydreaming about…. You can connect the rest of the dots.

This is how the book went: she fantasized about having sex with him, he fantasized about having sex with her, they officially meet, go on a date, actually have sex, the end.

Even allowing for this book being a novella, there wasn’t much substance. And it was missing some of the sweetness that appeared in a couple of the other books. The only good thing going for it was a hero who wasn’t the typical rock star, playboy character. Also, that it was a novella so I didn’t waste much time!

Star Crossed is the fifth book in the Sorority Secrets series. The Sorority Secrets series is an anthology series that surrounds itself around one virginity auction. These tales are just as sweet as they are sexy.

I was intrigued by Star Crossed. I’m a huge fan of the rockstar romance trope so this one immediately fell on my radar. Mathewson and Caroline’s story is sweet and tempting.

Caroline’s determination to not be a part of the virginity auction was refreshing, especially after the four books that came before this one. So instead of participating in the auction, she decides to track down the hottest band on campus and talk them into playing a benefit concert.

Overall, Star Crossed was a cute read, but sadly I wanted just a little bit more from the characters and the romance. That’s an issue I often have with novella type novels. I love short reads, but I’m often left wanting more from the connections and the chemistry.

Another thrilling novella from the Sorority Secrets series, this short story is a quick and enjoyable read, that’s easily completed in one sitting.

Quite honestly, the synopsis tells you more than enough, so I won’t add much more. I love going in knowing as little as possible.

What I will say, is that this little tidbit is well written and certainly kept me entertained.
The characters are well developed for a novella and easily draw you into their tale.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story and highly recommend it to anyone with an afternoon to kill.

I had some trouble connecting with these two in the book.

It was off to a great start with a nasty response from Matt to Caroline's email requesting his band to play for charity. You see, her hope was that getting him to play a concert would get her out of the virginity charity. She was wrong. He was pretty much repulsed by what her sorority was doing. That is, until he realizes it's the same Caroline that sits behind him in Econ class that he's been fantasizing about.

Good story, but probably just too short for me to feel a connection to the characters.

This is a great addition to the Sorority Secrets series. It’s steamy insta-love and a smoking hot lead singer. I just love this miniseries, full of steamy reads that can be read in about an hour. Each book is written by a different author and can be read as standalones.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review.
Caroline is part of the sorority that is holding an auction for the girls virtue. Caroline doesn't want anything to do with the auction so she is going to get the popular campus band to play a benefit concert instead. That doesn't go to well when she get a return email from the lead singer that is also a rejection.
Matt "Mathewson" James is having a great time in college. He is the lead singer in a band, has a sexy girl in one of his classes he wants to get to know better and record labels a showing up at their concerts. What could be better? Not the email from the sorority wanting them to do a charity concert when the girls are auctioning off their bodies.
Caroline walks in to where the band is practicing and she can't believe her eyes, it's the guy from her class she dreams about. As Caroline and Matt spend more time together, they realize they are made for each other.
Will Matt and the band do the benefit? What happens to their relationship if the record label makes them a deal? Will Caroline have to auction herself off just to save face with the sorority?
This is a first for me from this author and I enjoyed this story. I loved Caroline and Matt and the way they met. I am looking forward to reading more in this short story series.

**I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.**

Caroline isn't on board with the sorority auction. She is keeping a secret from her sisters. She swore she was a virgin, but lied. Now they want her to auction off her non existent virginity to help her sorority sister's brother. She wants to help but she's so afraid to be caught in the lie, she needs to find another way to raise the money.

Matt James is the hot lead singer of Punch-Drunk Kids, the hot indie college band. When he receives an email asking to help Beta Kappa Nu, he knows the band can't get behind girls auctioning off their virginity. When Caroline barges into their practice to ask him about his email reply. Matt knows he's screwed when he sees the email came from the girl he's been crushing on all semester.

Matt and Caroline have instant chemistry. What I didn't expect was the sweetness that comes with Matt's character. This is my first Heather Stone read. I look forward to reading more from this author.

M/F Virgin story
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

Caroline and her sorority sisters are auctioning off their virginity to help a local animal shelter and a brother of one of her sorority sisters' with the medical bills that are associated with the burns he sustained in the fire. Caroline isn't too keen on doing this, but she also doesn't want to disappoint her sisters. When she sets out to try and raise the money in a different manner, she finds herself confronting the lead of a local band.

Mathewson is also known as Matt. He sees this sorority auction as a joke and essentially writes a scathing email back to Caroline. What he doesn't expect is for her to track him down and completely beguile him.

This is a quick, short story with a few steamy scenes. There are several installments and this is entertaining for a bedtime read.

Caroline was in class thinking how the animal shelter burnt down that her sorority volunteered at. One of her sorority sisters brother had been badly burnt while fighting the fire and their family desperately needs help with his hospital bills. The sorority came up with a auction where the girls would auction off their virginity to raise money to help their sisters family as well as rebuild the shelter of two hundred animals. The same precious virginity they had made a pact to maintain is now on the chopping block and it had Caroline feeling sick as she had lied she had lost her virginity in HS to Brad who she thought had loved her as much as she loved him. He took everything including Carolines heart and then he left her. Caroline doesn’t know what to do. She proposed they make money in other ways. Which the girls agreed to continue but they won’t postpone the auction . Caroline’s idea was to have a charity concert highlighting the campus legends- Punch- Drunk- Kids and all proceeds would go to the fund. Caroline was told to proceed and she emailed the band and had beard nothing back yet. Bottom line they needed the money and this concert had to come through because the alternative was not an option for Caroline. Caroline had lied when she said she was untouched. She wondered if the person who bid on her would tell the sorority she had lied. Would Beta Kappa Nu kick her out for lying? Will they ever trust her again? Her mother would kill Caroline. Her mother was the only reason Caroline joined the sorority it was her mother's legacy. Caroline had spent the last two years reinventing herself. Her mother didn’t know Brad had taken her virginity. Mathewson tells Caroline he has her paper and when their fingers touched she had felt an electric current shoot down her body. This happens any time they touch in any way. Mathewson felt himself go hard as he looked at Caroline. A groan escaped him as he tried to look away. The girl was driving him crazy and she wasn’t even trying. Mathewson had been out of sorts all semester and it was Caroline’s fault. There’s just something about her. She was smart, sophisticated, and sexy as hell. She’s everything he wanted in his future. Then Mathewson thought about the last time he had time for a girlfriend a long time ago he didn’t bother doing one night stands. But Mathewson had big plans and he has to work his butt off or that won’t happen. His dad is heel bent Mathewson was coming to work for his wealth management company but that is the last thing Mathewson wants. Punch-Drunk Kids - his music is everything he wants. But unless they get their big break it’s a pipedream. His dad would never support that and he doesn’t have the money to move to NYC or Nashville or where ever he needs to go. Mathewson has two more semesters and gigs lined up for every weekend. The master plan is to be picked up by one of the multitude of agents who will be at any of these events. They have a massive show next weekend and they had been told their dream agent is stopping by to watch. Mathewson was Matt James in the band. It was Mathewson’s job to check emails: as their fan emails tend to pile up. They were still small enough they have to respond to every email themselves. It goes a long way with their followers. He pulls the email form Caroline but it is under the sorority that is auctioning off their virginity. That was gross and they probably weren’t even virgins. Mathewson sent an email saying no the band was already booked but also didn’t want the band associated with a sorority that is short on morals. Caroline had a nasty email to send back but she still needed the band Caroline went to where they practice and there was Mathewson. Then her body reacts to him she thinks why can’t Mathewson be the one who wins the bid on her. Then Mathewson said if she went out with him they’d do the concert. Mathewson goes to the sorority house to pick up Caroline. He knows she is his krptonite and he’s screwed. Caroline knows Mathewson wants her and she wants him.
I loved this book. It was a novella and very fast paced. But at least the two main characters have known each other all semester, so the fastness of their relationship was easier to take. I do wish there was a lot more build to their relationship. But then the book would have had to been longer so it is understandable. So I can’t really complain since it’s a novella. I loved Mathewson and Caroline together ad how they interacted. The sex scenes were hot! I loved how the sorority didn’t condem Caroline for not being a virgin and neither did Mathewson. This was a fast paced novella that I didn’t want to put this down. I loved the plot and pace. I love the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend it.

First time reading a Heather Stone story. I had a good time with the book considering is short and little cliché, but I'm still happy that I've got the chance to read it.

Matt and Caroline, are a good combo as a couple in this book. A good student and a lead on an up and going places band. I think that they developed in a way that made me believe in them more, for some reason, it felt kind of realistic at times like it was possible that this happened in real life somewhere.

The writing was simple, no complicated wording and no complicated plot. It was straight to the point and even with that in mind, I had a good time. I didn't find any grammar errors which was even better. The flow of the story was ongoing, no problems there either.

My only thing with the story is that it was a little repetitive, only because I've read a couple of books about this kind of trope and it gets a little cliché after a time or two in consecutive books. Also, I've read this Sorority Secrets Series almost back to back and I don't think it's meant to be read like that *smiles*

I would recommend this book if you like virgin romance, rock stars, short story romances, and a good dose or sexy time with your romance.

Caroline has a tiny problem. She and her sisters are auctioning off their v-cards to raise money for her sorority sister's brother's medical bills and to rebuild a rescue shelter. Sounds all good but for the fact that her v-card is already gone. Oops. So an alternative plan must be hatched. So off to email the local rock god to plead for his help. Matt sends a pretty hostile reply back but Caroline isn't deterred. What happens, though, when Matt is Matthewson, the guy she's been crushing on in class? The guy who isn't like the jerk who replied so scathingly?

This is probably my least favorite of this series, but it still delivers what was promised - it's dirty for sure, and short. Not particularly sweet, but definitely dirty. Probably has the most gratuitous scenes in the whole series, a bit much for my tastes. But it's still entertaining and short enough to read in an hour or two depending upon what else you've got going on. I'm going to miss this series!

After fanning myself after Sorority Secrets number 4, the fifth part is less panty-melting and more swoon. Caroline has promised to auction off her virginity for the good cause. However, she has two problems: 1) technically she is no longer a virgin and 2) she really doesn't want to go to bed with the first pervert to bid on her. So she decides she needs another way to raise money. She e-mails the local rock legend Matt James and asks for his help with a fundraising concert as a different way to raise money then via a virginity auction.
Appalled by the auction, Matt sends back a harsh refusal. But Caroline isn't giving up. She will track down this famous guy and she will give him a piece of her mind. But she never expected to already know the guy: legend Matt is the same as Matthewson Jameson, the quirky guy in her Economics class??? When realizing that Matthewson is not the jerk Matt and when Matt realizes Caroline is not some dumb bimbo trying to sell herself to the highest bidder, they try to find a new way to raise money.
Short and sweet. Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

My least favourite of the Sorority Secrets so far. As in previous novellas we follow Beta Kappa Nu as the sisters decide to auction off their virginity for charity. Star Crossed follows Caroline Littrell as she second guesses giving up her so called ‘virginity’ for charity, especially when she discovers that her super hot crush and classmate Mathewson Jameson also has feelings for her. Matt it seems is also a rock god on Campus (not that nerdy Caroline knew anything about that) and once he discovers what Caroline is about to do, he steps in to help, he doesn’t want anyone else touching what’s his. The story was very clichéd, which I don’t mind, but I did find it was all about the sex, I felt that scenes were written into the story that were totally unnecessary. It was a short story, but I would have liked to know more about the characters (who I loved), and less about their dirty minds. Not really the book for me I’m afraid. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.

Caroline is doing everything she can to get out of the virginity for charity that her Sorority is hosting. One of the ideas is to get a local band Punch Drunk to play a concert. Mathewson heard of the pretty much prostitution ring that's going on with the sorority but wasn't aware of his classmate Caroline was apart of this ring and isn't into helping them but asks Caroline for a date to get to know each other.

I thought this was an interesting difference between the other sisters in the sorority when it came to this story. Again if you are looking for a steamy read that it pretty quick then you'll like this book. But if you like a good steamy read with an interesting storyline then you'll want to check out this book. Its not the most unique story I've ever read but it was pretty good anyways. Being that its a novella you don't really get much about the characters what you read is what you get not much depth into the characters but the story they have is a pretty good one. Overall I enjoyed this book.

"Everything he ever wanted"

Star crossed is a fantastic 4 star novella that really hooks you in from the first chapter and had me hooked throughout.
I'm new to reading Heather Stone books but on the back of this brilliant novella I'm going to be reading her back catalogue.
This novella is so sweet it may possibly give you cavaties but I promise you that it will be worth it and you will love every minute of reading it.
Caroline and Mathewson story will make you swoon all the way to the last page.
Caroline is the nerd in her sorority and very rarely if ever goes out partying she'd much rather stay home reading her books.
Matt James is the lead singer of Punch-Drunk Kids,he's the boy every girl craves yet he's got his sights set on one lucky lady.
The feelings are strong and the chemistry between these two is smoking white hot.
I loved this novella and I highly recommend you one click it asap.

Caroline is between a rock and a hard place. On the one hand, she has a sorority that is auctioning off their virginity to help gain funds for one of their sister’s brother who was severely burned in a fire. They are also hoping to help a local animal shelter that the same fire destroyed. The problem? She is no longer a virgin.

Star Crossed by Heather Stone is hot and heavy. It is also the first book I read by this author. I definitely enjoyed reading this book but found that there was no real conflict between this couple to overcome. Everything was all too easily brushed aside. This probably due to the fact that it is a novella.

Even without the conflict, this is was a sexy and entertaining read. Recommended for those who love a simmering read with a HEA.

Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) This is another short installment in the Sorority Secrets series.. We meet Caroline who is one of the sorority sisters who is auctioning off her virginity, even thought she is not one. She is afraid that they will kick her off of sorority if she admits that she lied to get in, knowing that her family would be upset and she also doesn't want them not to trust her. She decides that she will get a college band to play a charity concert and make enough money that they wont have to go thru auction. When she reaches out to band the lead singer is a jerk and she decides to go personally and it turns out that the lead singer is the hottie that she has been crushing on. When Matt sees that it is Caroline that is asking things change since he has wanted her from the very beginning.

She is exactly the girl for him, the one that likes him for different reasons than anyone else. But too bad it will be a little harder for him to save the girl from the impending auction. The good thing about this story is that the problem solving is not the usual. Bidding the highest amount is not an option so Mathewson and Caroline need to get creative because there is not a chance in the world some other guy will be putting his hands on her. Who knows, maybe all they need is a backbone and stand their ground. Or maybe a little negotiation will help out...

This is part of a series written by different authors where a sorority decides to auction of their virginity, in order to help a friends brother who was seriously injured. Caroline is not as willing to give up her virginity so she decides to find the local rock god and have his band perform for the charity. When she finds out who the rock god is things will steam up.

This was a fast read.

Quick and dirty read.
Its A Novella so I had not expected anything spectacular here, but I was peasently surprised by Star Crossed.
This one is a rock star romance. Really popular thing right now.
Characters were Good and managed to keep my interest during The read. Even when sometimes it seemed to be one dimensional A Little.
I liked That in Sorority Secrets we got Also something else - not only auctions ;)

This little ditty is amazing. I love the chemistry between Caroline and Matt. You will love this bookworm sorority girl and the rocker. I love how she tries a different way to raise money for her Sorority and how Matt keeps her little secret. Matt and Caroline have that something special. Heather Stone did a fabulous job with this little short in the series.
