Being an Entrepreneur isn’t WHAT you do – it’s WHO you are. Many dream about becoming an Entrepreneur, yet no one has ever discovered the right formula to becoming one. What separates the Entrepreneurs who succeed from those who fail? Unfortunately, as we grow up “in the system” Entrepreneurship is never really presented as an option. As a matter of fact, everything we learn while growing up actually works against us when trying to succeed as an Entrepreneur. Well that stops today. In The 4 Stages of Becoming A Successful Entrepreneur, Anik Singal takes you on a journey through the mind of a true Entrepreneur; learn exactly what tools are required to succeed, and transition from employee to Entrepreneur.
I respect anyone who writes a book, especially one as dense as this. I got it for free as part of Anik's marketing funnel and it's clear he is someone who provides a lot of value to a lot of people. Unfortunately, this book just didn't connect with me. I found the pages I flicked through (and tried to read) full of things I've heard many times before.
That said, I donated the book to my office library in hopes it serves someone else on their journey. I think it's a useful place to start for a beginner, though even then there's other business/entrepreneurship books I would recommend too.
This book is one of the best business books I have ever read and i have read over 700 books. Every section just seemed to hit everything I have ever dealt with as an entrepreneur. Anik addressed a lot of what I call the soft skills, which a lot of business books ignore. Good job.
I read this book once and I will read it many times again.. Anik Singal really made the bible to be an entrepreneur.. when you go through this book, you will find many real things that most likely happened to you.
I came across this book in Dan Lok's forum as it was being recommended there. It's essentially a manual for being an entrepreneur, breaking down each of the key areas you need to gain skills in - Self, Catapult, Authority and People - into further sub-categories such as time, money, struggle, paradigms, accountability and focus.
This is ideally used in parallel with the free assessment you can take at lurn.com which assesses each of the sub-categories and gives you a score of how likely you are to be an entrepreneur, thus providing you with a template showing where you need to put in more effort if you want success. The chapters in the book tie in with each sub-category and act as a cross-reference tool.
Having a low score doesn't mean you won't be an entrepreneur, it may mean you have further to travel to get there. The book also talks about intrapreneurs; folks who have a 'regular' job but act as innovators and 'internal entrepreneurs' within their company.
Overall, an excellent tool in your toolkit for assessing your strengths and weaknesses as an entrepreneur. There were a few takeaways I highlighted which reminded me that your continual learning should not be just about business skills, but also a more holistic approach including Spiritual, Health, Wealth and Relationships.
I liked that he spoke of Bob Proctor's paradigms, which are essentially subconscious models we often incorrectly develop when young, and Anik talks about the importance of properly structuring these. Anik seemed fortunate in his own deck of paradigms, but some of us need to rework them to remove our own limiting beliefs. Again, there are numerous systems for this (including Bob's own programmes) and many other books/tapes which can help such as No More Mr. Nice Guy, Homecoming: Reclaiming and Healing Your Inner Child and How to Be Yourself: Quiet Your Inner Critic and Rise Above Social Anxiety.
At the outset, he makes it very clear that it's not (or it should not be) about the money. It's about the people: "Money is irrelevant—The key is to love what you’re doing and feel a true passion. It’s all about strategy, planning, and having contingency plans— Make wise decisions, not gutsy ones. Serve those in need —It’s NOT about the money; it’s about the people."
If you're a budding entrepreneur or are looking for a tool to help you level up in some area, this book coupled with the assessment may help you more surgically address areas which may be underperforming.
Easy to read, interesting to begin. The book is to shape you a proven entrepreneur mindset from the author. The author went from a 10 million net-worth businessman into having 3 million debt, from there he rose again to eventually came back having 10 million dollars in his pocket. The book will teach you the differences between being an employee and entrepreneur/intrapreneur . It will show your step by step on how to build a business mindset starting from yourself on how much would you want to sacrifice, proceed to catapult which to break down the goal and start momentum, then to authority which you start to take responsibility and calculate the risk-taking, finally to people for which not removing the discourage one ( they are most likely care about you and do not understand about your inner motives) but actually find a supportive and knowledge one. An excellent book from an excellence entrepreneur, Anik Singal.
I expected to learn and exercise some tips and tricks in each stages. But instead I'm introduced to the core fundamental characteristics that make up an entrepreneur. Theses foundations help an aspiring entrepreneur to find the direction that needed work. Highly recommend to the fresh aspiring entrepreneur. This is the first book I read about being an entrepreneur. I wish there would be more exercises for the development in each stage. Happy Learning.
What makes this book good is that it gets to the point instead of going story after story.
The main takeaway you will get from this is what is holding you back from being an entrepreneur or rather should be an intrepreneur? (Person that works at a company but is a bada$$ at what they do and still makes good money with lots of autonomy).
Only criticism is the quiz link is broken, so Escape editing team may you provide a new quiz link please? I'm sure everyone else will appreciate that as well. Thank you
I totally enjoyed this book. It open my eyes and mind to many new possibilities and allow me to set higher goal and values in life. All that I learned can be applied to every single part of my life. I’m now ready to push forward and don’t look back. Thanks for being transparent. May God continue to bless you as you sow and continue to be humble.
Reading this hook at this stage of my life somehow made it less useful. It just confirmed that I finally am on the right path. However, if I had read this at the start of my entrepreneurial journey, it would have saved me some time and some avoidable mistakes. Would recommend.
The stages mentioned in this book are nicely explained. To me, now, It does make sense of the kind of action that needs to be taken, in any particular scenario. Though, I will be able to master it over the period of time, but, I'm glad that I found these insights.
This book is recommended to be read by everyone, whether you want to be an Entrepreneur or Intrapreneur.
Give you the step by step formula and skills set required to become a successful Entrepreneur. Anik Singal explained his own journey and problems and tell his reader how he over come it.
Anik Singal is an online marketeer who has his highs, then lows and now high again. This book chronicles his journey, and outlines his entrepreneurship formula ESCAPE. In the end, it is an invitation to join his online platform LurnNation.
A practical guide to becoming an entrepreneur or solopreneur. His Analogies and personal experiences helped in the delivery of his framework. Anik did a splendid work on this book and convinced me that anyone can truly become an entrepreneur if they put their heart and mind to it.
Very insightful! It truly shows that there's work involved with becoming an entrepreneur. If only they would have classes in school that were that informative...
Anik, you truly are the real deal. This book is not just an amazing piece of advice; it’s a masterful work of great and relatable storytelling about the journey towards success. Thanks so much for one of the few books I can honestly say changed my life.
