This is a follow up to Gideon and Josie's story and it is wonderful. While you do not have to read the original book I would recommend you do so, only because it was also a great story. Their journey to getting to the wedding day is full of wonder, fun, and much love. Josie is the keeper of Nimway Hall. She’s strong willed, opinionated, funny and overall a gem. She doesn’t always understand her appeal but does know that she has a role and part(s) to play in her role as the keeper of Nimway Hall and in the war effort. Gideon is in the Armed Services and for lack of better words, a spy for England setting up his network and operations in the area. Together this couple is unstoppable… putting them together with central theme of this series, Nimway Hall and its surrounding wood makes them even more so.
Josie has so much on her plate that she has difficulty finding time to plan her own wedding. Gideon’s family and the people of the Hall come to Josie’s rescue. The part about her wedding dress made me weep, with happiness, for Josie. Gideon is busy as well, trying to save the Hall from being used as a training camp that the land, while understood the need to support the war effort, would have to be torn up and virtually destroyed to do so. Did I mention he tries to do this without letting Josie know? He does so as it would not only devastate her and the people but cause her temper to flare which would not be pleasant in the least.
This is a period piece and the author does an exemplary job of weaving the story with how the world was during WWII in England. Times were hard and people came together, supported each other and refused to let the enemy win. This book is a definite win in my opinion.

Enchanted Love

I loved reading about another story where the Orb mingled itself with the now lady of Monday Hall. This is such a beautiful and historically story about love, duty and romance. Josie being in line for the gift of the Orb and her fortune to meet up with such a intelligent, historical hero brought this storyline into such passion that I could hardly put the book down. I love the way Gresham intertwined these two people together and have us a history lesson at the same time. I felt I was in the story watching their every move. Just a fabulous read!

I don't usually read "modern-era" stories, but this series spanned many eras, so held my interest.

I also have not read much about the British part of WWII [mostly only know what I have seen in the war films], but this and the prior story taught me a lot.

The love story between Josie and Gideon and the secrets they each carried kept me on the edge of my seat.

I also loved how their families and friends were always there for them.

Like the previous in the series, which tells how Josie and Gideon met and fell in love, this book is a fun little romp.
