I love a good smutty shifter ménage story as much as the next girl, and I was enjoying Let the Wild Out until

For such a short, obviously more smut than plot book. I enjoyed it more than some series. The world building was not strong, but the characters were.
It was like reading a sexy smut sprinkled Grimm fairy tale.

The FMC, well, I actually know little about her, then she's a shifter that can be three animals, and she's been brought up with a strong sense of her mind. Her aunt was very open to the ways of multiple parners sexual and she never understood it. She never grasped "Let the wild out" as a concept.
The MMCs are two chief brothers (not by blood) from the UK, Scotland, and England. Although it all seems set in morden times, the nature of paranormals in this world gives them more a 18th Century feel in traditions and sometimes wording.

Put it altogether and add the instant smut, and you get quite a tale of search, mate, betrayal, and love. It's never said, fated mate, but it does sound it. I do like the way it is explained as sups being magical. They trust their instincts, knowing magic runs through them, so they are faster to accept suddenly fallen for someone. The smut, oh, it is hot! I would say a good 4.5/5.

The world building is held up by the characters. Even the fairy and her antics, well some antics, let's not mention the sex deal. I understand it from a magic sense, but cringe x 1000! And the other magical races, well it took one moment and I had a grasp at all their personalities and how fun they are.

In the end, I enjoyed the book. It was a simple one with strong elements and enough strong elements to make a great tale. The ending made me laugh so much and is a lovely HEA

Okay

Nothing special, the MCs are rather bland & generic. There is a nice little mystery that is well written but doesn't take long to figure out the bad guy.

I read it from start to finish to make sure that I gave it a fair chance before closing the "book" and shaking my head "nope." The entire story-line is too similar to high school drama for me, to say it was enjoyable. You have your popular sports jocks who fall for the beautiful but "nerdy" unpopular girl who we all know has so much more to offer than she is given credit for. You throw in the jealous, spiteful popular girls continually vying for the jocks attentions understanding fully, that they are in a relationship with this nerd and one of the jock's mothers who only want what they think is the best "mate" for their "baby" and viola - high school or television version of high school. The three stars are only for the tough-as-nails, independent, intelligent, sexy, kind-hearted nerd.

Two Kings One Queen

Rachel is a shifter of many talents but when her King of her clan comes to Canada in search of a bride all she cares about is running she wants nothing to do with court and the European way of marriage if he discovers what she can do he will claim her. But before Douglass can have Rachel the other King William comes in now they both want her and by there customer they can both have her. But Rachel life is in danger they hope taking her to there home in Europe will keep her safe but it only puts her in further danger. Rachel will face death and insecurity about her own feelings and how she can live the life her two Kings want. There is plenty of heat and danger jealousy and palace intrigue in this book.

Got to love Royal Politics, NOT!! When two kings go out and kind their queen things get complicated. They have the whole sexual compatibility going but do they have more.? The narrator in this book was good, she even did a pretty good job with English and Scottish accents. I like how the author brought about the Ménage, it wasn't just expected. Rachel is a force all her own to be reckoned with and both William and Douglas are her perfect match. This was a great store with lots of steamy parts.

when the FMC almost lost her arm and her life and immediately after she woke up they started having sex 🤦‍♀️ It was too much and I just couldn't finish the book.

Liked it

Two for the price of one. That is what Rachel got when she was spotted by her clan chieftain in a bookstore. Jealousy almost ruined her love affair with her men. Loved how the author incorporated herself in the story along with another well-known scribe.

Good story

I think the funniest part of this entire book was right at the end. It did have its moments, and a lot of action. I think most of you will enjoy this book.

Exhilarating, edge of your seat action, adventure, tension, freeing, a different world where raw instincts take precedence over propriety and letting the wild out has wicked results.

I was conflicted through out the whole thing. In the end, I felt was just an okay read.
But with these authors, it's always a hit or miss.

Stars: Overall 4 Narration 4 Story 4

A shifter romance unlike those I have read before, the insertions that brought a giggle were many. Porter starts the story with a nod to her publishing cohorts Mandy M. Roth and Michelle Pillow, at a book reading/signing as we are introduced to Rachel, the heroine.

Rachel was raised by her aunt, a bird shifter with a penchant for keeping two lovers handy, growing herbs and other bits in her garden and the occasional arrest. Although as a bird shifter Auntie Elvie was arrested quite often, Rachel thinks she just enjoyed being in handcuffs. Alone in the world now, all of Rachel’s family has died, and she is hiding under the ‘shifter radar’ by not shifting.

Douglas and William are chiefs of their clans, and their traditions require they share a wife, with the children from the unions being raised with each clan’s traditions and lore without regard to parentage. The eldest of the two chiefs gets the eldest child, the second goes to the next, and so on. It is time for them to choose their wife: preferably young, pretty and full-blooded shifter.

When she is confronted with Douglas, a powerfully potent shifter, chief of a clan, and bearing the crest on his hand, her first instinct is to run: far away. When William arrives at her doorstep and she is hit with his animal magnetism, it is almost too much to bear. Whisked away to the clan chieftan’s home in the UK after a fire destroyed her lodge, she is slowly coming to grips with her feelings for the two, and the security that she feels when with them.

There is a massive clash of wills: as clan chiefs both William and Douglas are used to being obeyed: but their revelation to Rachel that she can make a request and they are obligated to obey gives her a unique power that is far beyond her omni-shifter nature. It’s funny to watch the two as they angle for supremacy with her, and Rachel’s very matter of fact manner and way of putting them in line. In fact, several moments in this story will have you laughing at the dialog and the odd situations.

Full of quick switches in action and location, while the story isn’t always smooth, it is always well told and depicted. Rebecca Cook’s narration is super, adding a gruffness to William and Douglas, some stealth and disdain into Magda, a touch of wonder underlaid with steel for Rachel. Her voice never interferes with the story, but moves smoothly from one situation or character to the next with precision.

Above all else, this is a story of shifters and the animal desires that they all have are never far from the surface. Super hot sex scenes, some in ménage, some hot and frantic: the sexual tension and action is enough to fulfill every erotic romance fans needs, and the story will feed the romantic in you, even with the fur.

I received an AudioBook copy of the title from the author for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

William and Douglas are chiefs of their opposing clans. To prevent war they are required to marry the same woman and make her their queen. Rachel is a shifter who keeps a low profile from her people and wants keep it that way. After a chance encounter with one of the clan chiefs, Rachel heads back to her sanctuary only to have both men pursue her. Can she resist the advances of the two hot chiefs or will she let the wild out?

This was such a fun read I really could not put this book down. Let the Wild Out has all the elements I love in a book: excitement, adventure, great characters and hot steamy M/F/M sex. Author Madelyn Porter wrote three of the best characters I have read in a while. Rachel, the shifter that didn't want to shift. William and Douglas, two opposing chiefs who have to share a wife. The interactions between the two chiefs offered some of the best components of the book. The way William and Douglas shared Rachel was comical but her reaction had me in stitches. She definitely had the best line out of the book:

"I'm not a toy to be shared between the two of you. If I hear you talking about whose turn it is ever again, it will be no one's turn. Understood?"

Of course no story would be complete with out some intrigue which is excellently provided by the supporting cast. I really wouldn't mind if there was a follow up story I loved this book and these characters that much. If you're looking for a great book with excellent characters to while the afternoon away with, Let the Wild Out is the book for you. I'm looking forward to reading more by author Madelyn Porter and will be telling all me friends this is a must read book.

Honest to glob, I had no idea what was going on through half of this book. The scenes were ... jerky, for lack of a better word. One scene would close out and the next would start and I kept feeling like I'd missed something vital. This wasn't a one time thing (which I would usually write off as me not paying close enough attention to what was going on) but something that happened on a consistent basis throughout the book.

I thought that William and Douglas stayed pretty true to character but I was getting whiplash with Rachel. She hadn't shifted in a long time because she wanted to stay off everyone's radar, then she shifts several times in the course of a chapter or two. She wasn't one to sleep around, yet she had sex with two different men within a couple of hours of coming into contact with them (more or less). She was told by her aunt to stay away from shapeshifters and hide her true self, yet she was left in charge of a sanctuary for shifters. While the last could be explained away by how her aunt didn't tell Rachel that the house *was* a sanctuary, the fact that her aunt left her the house without giving her any guidance about what she'd be expected to do with it felt odd.

The sex was decent but the mystery of who had sent a firebug assassin after the characters wasn't too hard to guess. I really didn't enjoy this book until the end and the end wasn't enough to make up for the inconsistencies earlier on.

Let the Wild Out by Madelyn Porter

***Contains M/F/M relationships***

Your going to want to read this book! The story is full of humor, love, action, hot sexy male shifters, intrigue, magic and a murder plot. What more could you want?

The main characters are Rachel,William and Douglas. Rachel is a very rare shifter an Omni giving her the ability to shift into 3 different animals. It also leaves her vulnerable to people wanting her because of her abilities. So she hides away in a mountain sanctuary. Then we have William who is a clan chief and wolf shifter and Douglas the clan chief of the panthers. To prevent a war from brewing between their two different clans, William and Douglas are required to mate/marry the same woman thus making her their queen.

I loved the chemistry between all 3 of them. It was funny how they would handle who gets to be with her and when. The action/danger they faced was interesting and keeps you glued to the book. The sex was just the right amount of hot. The entire story is well written and flows at a good pace. I hope there is a book 2 that continues their story.

I recommend this book to all paranormal romance readers!!!

I still enjoyed it the second time around, I just wish that it was more to the story as in a sequel about some of the other supernatural creatures mentioned in the story. I also realized that I didn't like the scene in the forest where there was a miniature orgy. I find now that I dislike when the hero/heroes and/or heroinie have sex with anyone outside of the duo/trio when they are already together. For that reason and that reason alone I am changing my rating from a 5 star to a 4 star.

Previous Review
This was a surprisingly good story. I loved the dynamic between the three main characters. I also like the fact that for a story that wasn't very long, it was well paced. It had some very steamy sex scenes, but the plot would have held without it.

How lucky can a women be to be loved and cared for by not one, but two incredibly hot men.

It is always a bonus for me when I can't figure out who the true culprit is. Yes, I had my suspects, but I was never really sure who it actually was.

All I can say is kudos to Madelyn Porter for a job well done. I am looking forward to reading more of your books in the future.

Rachel is an extremely rare omni shifter meaning she can shift into 3 different animal. She has been taught to hide her gift lest she become an experiment, thus she lives in the deep backwoods mountain sanctuary where she was raised by her eccentric aunt. William the chief of one clan and wolf shifter, and Douglas chief of the other clan, a panther. Both are bound to marry and share the same wife in order to keep peace between the clans. Their bride should be a pure shifter of respectable lineage , but the both end up falling for Rachel who says she is a trout, they both don't care because it's her they want.
Several assassination attempts, across the world they go for safety, but danger stalks there every move. There feelings all heat up and love blooms, but will that help when she is unsure of them and becoming a queen? Will the person or persons wanting to see death win? You will have to read this really good book to find out! I highly recommend it!

Do you like Shifters, M/F/M relationships, Power plays, and a little bit of Magic in a story? I picked up “Let the Wild Out” as a freebie on Amazon and I have to say I found a diamond in the rough with this one! I could not put it down. I genuinely liked all the main characters and was rooting for then to have their HEA, and I love that they are going to do it on their own terms. If you like paranormal shifters, action, love, sex-including multi-partner, power, scheming, and a good Happily Ever After (HEA) then this is a story for you. So why is it not a 5 star read?>>>>it’s in need of editing. It’s not horrible, but the switching from points of view and chapter spacing needs work. I will definitely be keeping an eye on this author.
