Keeping Cole for Christmas

Rate this book
Abigail Hannity wanted a quiet Christmas. When Abigail’s childhood friend, Cole, comes back into town with a charming smile and the energy of a hurricane, Abigail’s frills-free life and carefully-made plans get very, very complicated. With Christmas around the corner, Abigail realizes that the uneventful path she planned for herself might not be the one she needs. After learning that her fiancé isn’t the man she hoped he’d be, leaving her meticulous life in shambles, Abigail starts to wonder if Cole’s spontaneous approach might lead to something far more spectacular. This is a holiday romance with notes of sweetness and scandal, written by Tuesday Embers -- a pen name for a USA Today bestselling author.

To protect against a volatile relationship she grew up seeing her parents share Abigail is convinced that a steady relationship based on a schedule rather than love and passion is the right kind for her. It isn't until her fiancé proves unfaithful that she evaluates who she is and what she truly wants. Having Cole, her older brother's best friend, around to revive her zest for life isn't a hardship either. But when her feelings for him begin to deepen and change, she might let her fear ruin her chance to keep Cole for more than just Christmas, maybe even forever.

This was actually a really sweet story with a lot of depth, evolution, and changing perspectives. Abigail was a complicated person who loved with all her heart, but never let that heart get tangled romantically. I was glad that Cole engaged her slowly, allowed her to realize that there's no one she'd rather live life with than him and when it came to fight for them it was Abigail. It made up for her willful blindness and stubborn attitude that got almost annoying. The ending was sweet and full of hope for a happy life. A very cute story.

Abby wondering if romance was just a series of disappointments.Pierce was a lawyer, didn’t do any good trying to argue with him, but now after two years it was grating on her. Cole, the boy she has always known, and took time to be with him when he came to town. Pierce was an idiot he should know that Christmas Eve meant a lot to her. A guy who proposed over the phone, and sends a ring by FedEx She missed Cole and glad he was moving back. Coke was good for her, he didn’t spare any punches telling her what she was settling for. Cute story of love being there and finally realizing who you are to be with. With a Christmas gift of the three
legged cat for her. It was funny and enjoyable to read.

Abby deserved so much more than her fiancé Pierce who proposed by text and mailed her ring to her. Who does that? Only allowed one call a week, their long distance arrangement prior to their wedding suits them fine. Until it doesn’t.
At home for the holidays and Pierce making no compromises, she is heartbroken that he will not make time to visit her family and friends.
Cole is just what Abby needs, and deep down she knows this. Too afraid to risk their close relationship, she’s convinced herself that Pierce is everything she needs. Until he isn’t.
Committing to Pierce doesn’t include being lied to and cheated on. Her eyes are opened when she calls on a non-designated day and a woman answers. Yay for Abby for putting an end to that!
I loved the sweet way Cole consistently pushes to get Abby to realize he is the one for her. He takes risk after risk to show her his deep feelings for her. When Abby finally realizes that she’s ready to take the plunge with Cole, is it too late?
This well written sweet and romantic story was a definite entertaining page turner right in time for the holidays!

Veterinarian Abigail Hannity dated and became engaged to lawyer Pierce because he was safe and they never fought. But then Abby gave in to whatever he wanted even a long distance proposal by phone. She didn't want to end up like her parents with someone she fights with all the time. Cole has been attracted to Abby for a while, but her brother Aiden warns him off. Now he's back in town to take over his father's construction business and wants to be in Abby's life especially after he finds out that Abby's finance is selfish and a cheater. But Abby struggles with taking a chance on Cole, wanting to be with him, and then pushing him away. And Cole tries to take over renovating Abby's condo. They both have to learn to compromise, communicate, and trust to be together. There plenty of funny moments in this friends to lovers romance.

Maybe cliché, but a well written story, nonetheless, written with insight and full of understanding.
Because Abbie's parents are fighting all the time, she is looking for something uneventful in a relationship and happily lives in a long-distance relationship, with a phonecall once a week with her fiancé. That is, until her childhood best friend Cole comes home and stirs up many unwanted feelings.
Little by little she starts questioning her relationship with Cole, but, of course, also with her fiancé.
A lovely story, heart-warming and fairly realistic, it makes you not want to put the book down, but enjoy it in one go up to the end, to see that finally everything is okay.

A heartfelt, emotional, holiday love story. Abby is a young engaged woman who is settling for a passionless, loveless marriage after growing up with parents who always bicker and Cole is a young man (Abby's best friend) who's always been in love with Abby. The storyline was fantastic and so emotionally driven about having the courage to put fear aside and go after what you want the most. the characters were wonderful and so real. The book was filled with laughter, flirtatious banter, fear, doubts, heartache, healing, forgiveness, longing, passion, and love. Keeping Cole for Christmas was an emotionally driven holiday love story that readers will fall in love with.

An all around enjoyable sweet read, where friends take the leap to something more. And while there are the usual tropes of older brother warning someone off, and one recognising their feelings before the other what makes this read just that bit more for me was the time given to getting us to really understanding Abigail and Cole as individuals and not just as the something more. Not to forget her friends actually being supportive of her choices, while finding ways to voice their concerns about said choices without trashing their friend.

Abby was engaged to Pierce when Cole, her brothers friend, came back home. She confides in him how she got into Pierce. In my opinion he is wierd, to propose over the phone and FedEx, what a deuchbag. But Cole is perfect. He listens, he is kind and sexy. The more and more she sends her time with Cole the more she realizes that mayb Pierce is not the one.
I loved the connection between Abby and Cole how they understand one another and their closeness. Ok, maybe he is a bit over the top sometimes but he does it with his best intentions. I just love him.

When Friends Become More

Abigail doesn't do confrontation. Her parents have argued every day of her life. She and her brother argue frequently as siblings do, but they both believe it's the curse their parents suffer from. Their best friend, Cole, is an only child. His parents hardly ever argue and they've grown up together.

When she catches her fiance cheating, it takes all Abigail's strength not to fall in a permanent pit of despair. Cole sees an opening to tell her of his love and proceeds to smother her and inadvertently push her away. Can he convince her to take the plunge, or, completely run her off?~

Abby is the kid sister of Coles best friend. They have known each other forever now they are all grown up and Abby is waiting for her cold hearted fiancé to warm up. Not gonna happen. When Cole moves back to the old hometown, Abby starts to see him in a different light. I did want to slap them both at times. Not really much to do with Christmas other than the timeframe. But overall it was a good story. I couldn’t see a reason for 4 stars but closer to a 5. Few minor grammar/spelling errors so really a 4 1/2 stars.
I have tried to figure out where/how I got a free copy of the ebook. No luck but I’m sure it was a free download.

With Xmas not that far away this is perfect for a short holiday read or for curling up to on that overcast day.

One would wonder how Abigail ended up with Pierce when she had the hunky Cole who she's known all her life. But that's fiction for you & we wouldn't have this story. If you're an animal lover there's something in this for you as well. A kiss is about as hot as this gets.

There's a little bit of drama & angst but not over the top stuff. Curl up & enjoy!

I am a bit confused with this one for such a smart lady Abby really needs to open her eyes. Too much of the book was taken up with Pierce and that is where the book lost me. If that had been all that this book had been about I would have stopped reading, but it redeems itself with Cole. I think this character is just cool I even like Aiden he is ok too. I loved the late night conversation Abby and Aiden had and the ending was good. So instead of a 3 star, this one went up to a 4 star. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Abigail and Cole have been friends since childhood and Cole just wants the best for her. He just wants her to understand that’s she’s not plain vanilla nor does she really want a plain vanilla life. I loved this story and how Abigail is all about Christmas. Definitely a sweet make you feel good Christmas story.

Abigail and Cole have been friends for years but have lost touch until he returns to town and they reconnect. Abby is engaged to Pierce but he doesn't have time to spend with her. Cole and Abby start spending a lot of time together and soon Abby starts to wonder why Pierce doesn't have time for her so when she finds out some things about him she breaks up with him. Can Abby and Cole be more than friends?

Amazing story

I absolutely loved this book!! I read it in one sitting, despite the football game being on (and I love football). It was a sweet story of two people learning how to be what the other needed. The storyline was great and kept me guessing. I love it when the story isn't predictable. At the end, I wasn't ready for the book to be over! I'd definitely read more from this author and would highly recommend this book.

I thought Cole was a wonderful man and well written, however, Abigail was another issue, she was unstable, immature, needed therapy and didn't really care that much for her character and the way she interacted with Cole. If I have been him I would have run far, far away, she definitely needed intense counseling so it set the story off by the way she was portrayed unfortunately.

I love this book. Abigail wants a No-Frills life and then she realizes her fiance is not the one and then her childhood friend Cole comes into town with his infectious smile and she wonders if he's the one for her. Great storyline and the characters get you to thinking.

This is the 2nd book I’ve read written by Tuesday Embers; she has done a great job at writing a good book. I can’t wait to read more of her books.

The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

I loved the chemistry between the characters.

Very enjoyable read

Lately I have wondered if I needed to stop reading light romance, as I get totally turned off by hot and steamy. The problem with light romance is there is usually very little plot, and I get bored. It must have been the timing, and the right author, because this is one of the first ebooks, I plan on reading again, when I need cheering up.

Loved this story!

Loved the characters! Even though Aiden and Abby grew up with arguing parents they had a very strong bond. Protective big brother warning off his best friend from his sister and regretting it was great. Cole living Abby from a distance for a long time and finally telling his best friend to get lost added to the wonderful love story!

The characters were well written and the story a good one. (I'd love to see Aiden's story.)

It was fun reading Cole and Abby's bantering... and the big brother protectiveness... and obvious love for his baby sister that Aiden showed were great touches.

Keeping Coke for Christmas

A sweet story of unrequited love. Friends forever, Cole's got it bad for Abby, but her brother his best friend would kill him if he attempted to impose his true feelings for his sweet younger sister.
