Felicia Wycliff’s peaceful stroll through the woods turned to disaster when her dachshund bolted after a rabbit. One minute Felicia was running after the determined little dog, the next she was hurled to the ground. Gathering her wits after her tumble, she brushed herself off and continued her pursuit—-right into three mounted knights who blocked her path.
They were so authentic looking. They might’ve stepped from the keep of the nearby castle, Elysian Fields. But the old Norman fortress was a ruin and had been for three hundred years.
“Seize her,” the middle knight ordered, the knight who sat tallest in the saddle. “Let me go.” She fought, striking out when the two knights grabbed her. “Who the deuce are you?”
“I’m the Captain of the Baron’s Guard, and you are trespassing.”
Kidnapped, her confusion and fear consumed her. But when they rode through the gates of Elysian Fields, the castle looking as formidable as the date it was built, her terror exploded.
When she fell she knew exactly where she was. But where the devil had she landed?

I love time-traveling stories, but they are a bit tricky to get it right. I found Losing Timevery difficult to read and get into, because to me it was quite confusing.
Part of that is because it’s part of a series, but then each book is about a different couple and each is supposed to be able to be read as a standalone. The mechanics of the time-traveling were confusing to me and they didn’t make much sense. It was unbelievable to me and that made me not relate to the story.
That part of the plot aside, I couldn’t really connect with thr characters and I did not ser their own connection either. For me the whole thing was too fast and wrapped up a bit too tight.
Title: Losing Time Author: Chris Karlsen Publisher: C.K. Series: Knights in Time Book 5 Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating: Five Review:
"Losing Time" by Chris Karlsen
My Thoughts....
This was quite a interesting series...Knight in Time Book 5 'Losing Time' as we find Dr. Felicia Wycliff who had been walking her dog, Chloe ends up in a fairy tale having being captured by a Sir Harry Quarels and his guards and taken to the castle. At this time no one knew that Felicia had fallen through time while she had been searching for her dog. Now Felicia finds herself in 'Wlysian Fields, 1359...in medieval castles crisis.
However, trying to explain this to her captors was really taking a toll on her while unknown to her plans were being made for Felicia travel back to her time zone in 2018. This story ended up being quiet one entertaining, romantic and a time travel read that presented some historical background that added some enlightenment to the story. I liked how this author was able to brings Sir Harry and Felicia together giving the reader a interesting read that turns out to be 'lovable and humorous banter' at times. As the story continues by the end will Felicia go back with Harry in 1359 or will Harry stay with her in 2018 as she carries on her career as a Doctor. Will these two be able to stay together being from two different time zones? Well, as they back and forth in time will Felicia and Harry discover the right place it is to be with the one you love? To find all the answers to these questions you will have to pick up 'Losing Time" to see how this story will all come out.
If you are into a time travel romance read then I would recommend 'Losing Time' for you as a good read.
I enjoyed reading Losing Time. When I requested to read this book I didn't know it was book #5 but that was okay, I picked up the story easily and thought it was an interesting read. I enjoyed meeting Felecia and Sir Harold. I was swept up in their relationship and thought it very sweet. I also enjoyed the history in the story and the time travel. I will have to go back and start the series proper.
I give Losing Time 4 stars for its sweet read. I would recommend this book to everyone.
This is book #5 in The Knights in Time series. I have read all the books in the series. I recommend reading them in order, so you know all the characters as they appear in each of the books. But you can read them as a stand alone too. I really enjoyed Losing Time! I love a good romance and Felicia & Harry caught my attention from their first encounter. I couldn't stop reading because I had to know how they could stay together when they were from two different times. Loved it!!
The book is a good historical romance read. The story has some cool twist. The characters are good. The story is an entertaining there is humor, mystery, romance, and a little bit of magic.

As she turned to ask if the riders had seen the dog, a man said, “Hold where you are.” He and two riders with him eyed her up and down. They all wore medieval armor but the visors of their helms were up. The frowns on each of them deepened as they scrutinized her.
Dr. Felicia Wycliff has literally stumbled into a realm beyond her imagination. Elysian Fields, 1359, to be exact. Medieval castles, no electricity, no plumbing, and knights in shining armor. One particular arrogant knight named Sir Harold, Harry for short, was a thorn in her side and a danger to her heart. From their first hilarious meeting of insulting her womanhood and her "butterbags",
“Thanks.” She turned and over her shoulder snapped, “Speaking of boobs, you Renaissance Fair buffoons might try looking up chivalry.”
to her realization that even though she was falling for Harry, her career as a female doctor could only happen if she returned to 2018 without him. But how was she going to do it?
Sir Harold Quarles was mystified by this woman who spoke English, but yet she didn't. What is this future she speaks of and why should he care if she returns to it?
This is one of my favorite genres. I'm a huge "A Knight in Shining Armor" and "Outlander" fan, so I was thrilled to find a refreshing addition to the time travel genre. Felicia and Harry and their seemingly impossible romance capture your heart, but best of all, they make you laugh out loud with their hilarious banter. Though this is book 5 in Karlsen's Knights in Time series, it stands on its own and it is truly a love story through time and space. Highly recommend.

Felicia is out walking with her dog, Chloe, when she suddenly walks into a fairy tale with castles and knights. Who wouldn't want that? Except, no one would want to mysteriously disappear into a completely different time with no one you know, and your poor little pooch is still nowhere to be found! Honestly, this is probably my favorite part. Imagining Felicia talking to a knight about a "wiener dog" like it was just another day. I can just picture their faces. And it gave a great introduction into how the rest of Felicia’s story was going to go from there.
What could easily be mistaken for just another time traveling book, a retelling of a popular series, Losing Time stands apart in so many ways. This is the 5th book in the Knight in Time series, but can be read on its own without missing any key information, and without spoiling the previous books in the series. I do feel that any reader should be warned that they will want to read the other books in this series after finishing Losing Time. Everything anyone could want is included in the book: Romance, humor, and a little bit of mystery and magic to bring it all together!
Sir Harry Quarels and his fellow guards find Felicia wandering around the Baron’s land and bring her to the castle thinking her a trespasser. Little do they know she has fallen through time and unfortunately Felicia doesn’t realize this either. When she tries to explain she was merely searching for her dog they think her daft and she struggles to convince them otherwise. In the meantime back in 2018 they are making plans on who should to travel back to rescue Felicia. This is an entertaining, romantic story with some great historical content. I fell in love with Harry right off, though he is a bit chauvinistic he is lovable and funny. It took me a bit longer to warm up to Felicia however she has a good heart and is honorable and caring. This is a wonderful ending to a terrific series that I have enjoyed reading over and over again. It is sad to see it end however the author did a fantastic job of bringing it all to a great conclusion.
* I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own *
This is the story of Felicia Wycliffe who was just walking through the woods with her dog, when he suddenly chased after a rabbit and disappeared. Felicia chased after him until she suddenly found herself in front of three knights on horses. Now she is being taken to Elysian fields as a trespasser and they won’t liste to her when she tells them she is looking for her dog. Harry, one of the three knights seems to have taken a liking to Felicia and and the time Felicia and Harry have together sets of the start of a romance, Harry is the honourable and caring type and would do anything to keep Felicia with him, but time seems to have a mind of its own. Will Felicia stay in 1359 with Harry or will she leave him and go back to 2018 to carry on her career as a Doctor This was a great time travel romance by Chris Karlsen and look forward to more.
This is the first book I've read in the Knights in Time series, as well as the first book I've read by Chris Karlsen. I think it would have been helpful to have read the prior books in the series, as what I assume are other characters feature prominently in this book. I wondered if the characters or setting had already been described more in a prior book. Without having read the other books, the professions that the men had seemed unusual.
It was also a little tough to get into as I was a fan of the Outlander books many years ago, and the initial set up (female medical professional accidentally travels back in time) was really similar to that series.
Who doesn't wish for a knight in shining armor? While taking her wiener dog for a walk, Felicia accidently takes a trip through time. Finding herself in unfamiliar territory, and the captive of three men on horseback claiming to be Knights she is in a bit of a pickle. The head of the Knights, Harry, is a bit of a rouge. Believing Felicia to be crazy, yet intriguing, he slowly falls for the strange woman. There adventures, and misadventures are captivating. Travelling through time is not an exact science and getting home is a bit of a challenge. What a prize Felicia is bringing home. I loved this story. It really puts the romance in romantic.

The one thing you will learn from this book is chasing after your dog could change your life. In this case, you end up in a whole other time. She does have friends who are going to try and find her wow. That is a really cool twist and I think that why this book was so entertaining there is humor, romance, mystery and that little bit of magic that brings joy when reading a book. This is the first book of this series I have read and Chris Karlsen is a new author for me. I am impressed this was a fantastic story and if the other books in the series are like this one the author has a hit on their hands. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it
When a doctor is accidentally sent to the 13th century, she is totally unprepared for the time difference. She has no idea how she got there or why everything she knows has disappeared. The knight who finds her is just as confused. They seem to know some of the same people but cant explain how. She is taken on a journey through time travel that puts her life in danger and her heart. When she and the knight accept that they are in love and can go back to the future, will they or will only she return? This awsome love story was such a treat to read. I must read the other 4 books in the series.

Adventurous time travel romance! While walking with her dog, Felicia falls and mysteriously wakes up in "Oz." It took her awhile to accept that she'd somehow wound up in the past. This is book 5, though my first read in this series. Would be best reading previous books, but not hard to follow if you didn't. Enjoyed the characters antics and loyalty. Rooted for a HEA for Felicia and Harry. ((Since one would have to leave the world they knew.) A good read. Voluntarily read ARC for honest review
Knights in Time continues its time traveling adventures with Losing Time, the story of Felicia who is classically in the wrong place at the wrong time, and Sir Harold, “Harry”, her proverbial knight in shiny armor. Oh, how right that wrong place comes to be. Get swept up in Felicia and Harry’s story as they make their way back and forth in time to discover that any time and place is the right one when you’re with the one you love. Highly recommended.
A time travel romance back to medieval Gloucester, England. An area better known as the Elysian Fields. In the wrong place at the wrong time, Felicia is caught in an energy transfer that whisks her from her time period of 2018 to the medieval time of the 1300's. She falls for a chivalrous knight while trying to find a way back home. A clean storyline with lots of kissing. I liked it.

She was taking her dog for a walk when he runs off so she runs after him. Then she falls over. Suddenly she is surrounded by knights in horseback. She thinks they are going to fancy dress. When they take hold of her and take her back to the castle she knows she is in trouble. The ruined castle is no longer. She is now in the past. How? Why? See how she gets on

A very cute premise with winding up in the past/oz while walking her dog. I loved the world building and scenery description. It was a lot of fun to get through! Though I will say it's probably best to read some previous books as there are some details that would be more useful for a deeper understanding. Overall it's easy to read and understand, and the plot is both complex and easily understood at the same time.
I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily reviewing.
This was a lot better than what I expected! I loved Felicia and her personality. I feel she is how most of us would be if we were suddenly in a different time. I was just hooked beginning to end. When I read this, I thought it was a standalone novel, obviously it is not. However I didn’t feel like I was missing information of any when I was reading.
