From an award-winning author with more than one million books sold, a new series of four heartwarming historical romances about life on the Santa Fe trail. Note: each book can be read as a stand-alone.
Sophia Lorenzo is a young widow. And she’s in hiding at Bent’s Fort with her one-year-old son. Her late husband’s parents are powerful and determined to take her son from her. To protect them both, she must hide her true identity.
Buck Williams is the wagon master for the wagon train recently arrived at the Fort. He has been a loner since his wife died on a wagon train headed for Oregon. He guards his heart against further hurt.
Buck knows Sophia, but doesn’t know why she is lying about her identity. When she reveals the trouble she is in and asks for his help, Buck finds new hope that protecting this woman and child will atone for his failure to protect his wife.
But trouble is on Sophia’s trail. Can Buck protect the woman and child he’s come to love?
Linda Ford grew up devouring books and making up stories in her head—often late at night when she couldn't sleep. But she hadn't planned to write. Instead, she dreamed of running an orphanage. In a way, that dream came true. She married, had four homemade children, adopted ten and lived (at times, endured) the dream.
Writing first took her to non-fiction human-interest articles for newspapers and eventually a non-fiction book about tuberculosis set in the 1930s and 1940s (Touched By The White Plague). But romance had always been her first love and she turned to writing love stories. She is multi-published in the CBA market.
She lives on a small ranch in Alberta, Canada, where she can see the mountains every day. She and her husband continue to enjoy their children and grandchildren.
This is a historical romance that takes place on the Wagon Train. Sophie and her young son are on the run from her in laws after She buried her deceased husband. They want to take her son and they would because they have the money to. Sophia has friends on this Wagon Train whom helps her hide .
Buck works for this Wagon Train. He has no family and all of his fellow workers Are marrying off but he still remains single. Buck knows she recognizes Sophia She looks exactly like his best friends wife whom married her in despise to his parents She worked in their home, but why is she avoiding him and where is his friend and her son Maxie is a tiny replica of his friend.
Buck decides to help her and with Christmas near everyone seems to want to play matchmaker to Buck and Sophia.
Linda's words are a luxury in these challenging times as a woman of faith... I saw God in the wagonmaster, and let me just say, he looked GOOD... I was swept away to a dusty trail I never knew but had been inside me the whole time- much like the light of Jesus (when I met Jacob (my husband duh!) ) This book changed me in the ways the Good Book did, but, with some extra tingles.. (oopsies! sorry Jacob!) Just kidding, Jacob enjoyed it just as much as I did! Sometime we'd take turns reading it to each other from our beds! When Jacob said in the voice of the wagonmaster "I must protect you!" I was SHOOK! Thanks to the ride on this wagon trail, looks like theres gonna be a Duggar #7! I could write about this all day long.. but Jacob and the kids are calling... so IM gonna hit the trail! As much as I loved this book, the last two lines ruined it for me... definitely the worst in the series! I guess its back to the Good Book for me, guess its best to stick to the classics huh?
Wagonmaster Buck Williams falls in love with Mary Mae's friend, Sophia, and wants to protect her from the Lorenzo family who is trying to come and take away her baby. Sophia lets her guard down and men show up to take the baby. Buck saves the day though when he vouches for Sophia and has everyone else at the Fort attest to the upstanding woman Sophia is - not some mother who can't take care of her baby. Buck and Sophia marry. Polly plans a Christmas for the whole wagon train that they will all remember. The series ends here but Luke, Donna Grace, Judith, Gil, Mary Mae, Warren and Buck and Sophia are all headed west to get land and do ranching life.
This is a sweet short story. A woman and her son are hiding from those who are powerful enough to try and rewrite the past. She finds temporary safety, but, eventually, truth has to confront and drive out lies. Thankfully, when that time comes, she has a fort full of friends who support her, and a strong leader of a man who has sworn to protect her (platonically, of course). This book has people falling in love and engaged in less than a week's time, and married within two weeks time. A sweet, quick story with minimal kissing, some good notes about trusting God and not letting hardships turn you bitter.

Buck was the wagon train leader in the trail going to Santa Fe. They reached part way to Bente's Fort. Mary Mae and her sister found their friend, Sophia there hiding away with her infant son. They discovered she was now a widow from her rich husband. His family was searching for her and her son, their grandson. They planned to take the child back to Santa He to raise him with our their low class former daughter-in-law. Buck was to be her rescue and keep her and her son safe from those people. Will they find safety and love together?

History, babies, and love. Three great qualities for an interesting read. This story puts the reader in the Christmas mood. Tension and danger heighten the drama.
When you've got a Christmas romance and about a week prior, and when the heroine both fears and distrusts the soon-to-be hero, everything goes into high speed. Sophia needs protection from her dead husband's uncle's quest to steal her baby, and who better to protect her than Buck, apparently the only single man left on the wagon train. It's all good, though. I have one question: I wonder why Sophia's room on the second floor at the fort had dirt floors. Just me, I'm sure.
Polly has been dreaming of a wonderful Christmas for a long time and is bound and determined to make it happen. Will Buck be able to protect Sophia from her dead husband's family? Will Sophia trust Buck to be there for her and accept his protection? You'll have to read the book to find the answers. I give this whole series a big thumbs up. I loved reading this series and recommend it to everyone.
A mother great book in the Wagon Train Romance series by Linda Ford.I loved this book and couldn’t put it down until I was finished. Sophia is a friend of sisters Donna Grace and Mary Mae from the wagon train. She comes to the fort looking for help from her dead husbands family who want to steal her son away and raise him with them. Her friends introduce her to Buck the Wagon Train leader and a kind man.
Sophia married a Lorenzo heir because he wanted to spite his parents but his waywardness cost him his life and she ran away when the Lorenzo family wanted their heir back. Buck knew Lorenzo before all this happened but didn’t know about the baby or the family pursuit. So there is only one thing to be done: marry her and get her and the child safely away to California. A great story from a wonderful story writer.
I loved this shorter book which was the perfect ending for the Love on the Santa Fe Trail series. Sophia and Buck are drawn to each other, but face danger that their love will be torn apart. The four books in this series all flow together, so by the time the fourth book is read, the reader is really invested in the characters. This book is a very satisfying, warm-hearted tale.
I very much enjoyed reading Wagon Train Christmas. It's well-written plot drew together all the characters I had come to care for into a happy satisfying ending. I only wished I could continue to share their adventures on their trip to California!
I've enjoyed this series of stories, the characters were wonderful to follow along on the, Santa Fe trail. The author has done a superb job of telling the adventures on their way.
From ELL I really like all Linda Ford 's books. I especially like historical stories and hers leave you with a good feeling after reading just for pleasure. Also have an inspirational message.
Short and sweet. Just like the other books in this series. I have enjoyed all of them quite a bit! After reading several of the other Wagon Train books, this book was predictable, but I didn't care!!
I have Thoroughly enjoyed this 4 book series about The old west and the women and their men who found love and care. The author knows her subject very well She says a lot using very few words. Each story was Different completely, I enjoy them all.
Linda Ford is a very talented author and I am so lucky to have found her books. This is the second series I have read of hers. Check out her many books. With this series you will want to read them in order!
Wagon Train Christmas: Christian historical romance
I really loved this series of Wagon Train By Linda Ford of Christian Historical Romance . It was an awesome series I Loved Every Minute Of It AWESOME ! I recommend 15 and up .
Sophia is trying to make sure the Lorenzo family will not get Maxie her son. Buck is wanting them to be safe and in doing that falls for them. This is a loving story with well written characters you will love. You will enjoy this book I know I have.
This was the shortest of all but still a good read. The saga continue and I like that. Each book adding people that we have already meet and adding them to the story. So far so good. And so it continues for me.....
Full of tension and all the families from the wagon train. Poor woman has been terrified and forced to flee but thankfully god has placed a man worthy of her and her son in her path.
Pollyanna made plans for a perfect Christmas, bringing traditions from everyone there. Sophia and Buck enjoyed the time to get to know one another. Good clean romance.
I loved the characters in this story, along with the plot. Linda Ford always writes a book worth reading. I recommend this book. It was interesting to see how the different characters worked together to make Christmas they all would remember.
A poor beginning in a life full of sorrow leads a young woman, searching for true love and a man she can trust through many dangers until she finds hope in the eyes of a stranger.
This story is about a mother doing her best to Protect her child. Its about a man running from his lost wife. Each has a story of grief and pain. How each come to the conclusion that they are better together.
This was another awesome story about the Santa Fe Wagon Train series. All of this series have been enjoyable and very clean so I wouldn’t mind my teenage granddaughter reading them.
Seems like this could have been so much more... It was a very short story. This included every one and the author could have easily caught us up on anything new happening, any pregnancies or new love...
The fourth book was good too but would have been better if the story would have traveled on to California. I would like to have read more about their new life.
