Phoenix is book one in the Steel Cobras MC series by Evie Monroe. This is my very first book by Evie. I picked it up a long time ago and never got a chance to read it. I finally pulled it out, dusted it off and dove in and I’m so glad I did. I loved it!
Phoenix “Nix” Nash is VP of the MC Steel Cobras. He sometimes works in a motorcycle garage but they make most of their money by stealing fancy cars. It’s on such a job that his life took a drastic turn. Everything was going according to plan until they investigated a strange noise coming from the trunk. The noise ended up belonging to a very beautiful but also battered and bruised woman who had no memory of who she was or how she got there.
When Olivia Baxter looked in the mirror, she was looking at a stranger. Her rescuer was a huge, tattooed, bearded man that should have scared her. But somehow she just knew that he had nothing to do with how she ended up in that trunk. He made her feel safe.
“Something about him stirred me, making me feel like I’d never really lived before.”
Nix was just supposed to drop her off at a hospital but he worried she wouldn’t be safe. That whoever took her was still looking for her. Something about her makes him want to protect her, to provide what she needs. Olivia suspects that the men she usually dated were probably nothing like Nix. But Nix makes her feels things she can’t ignore. Together these two were hotter than hot. Is it just chemistry that will burn itself out? But no matter what his MC brothers say, Nix is not letting Olivia go when she is in danger.
I loved this book. It was super fast paced and super steamy! The perfect combination. I loved Olivia’s strength. I loved how she surprised Nix at every turn. And I loved how Nix just knew that he had to stick by her. That even though he had never felt anything like this before, he just accepted it and did what he thought was right. The next book in the series is titled, Cullen. He is the president of the MC and is about to get a pretty big surprise!

I'm tired of manwhore characters. It's not sexy or romantic. It's unromantic, waaaay overdone, and disgusting. And all the MC brothers in this book act the same way, so any future books about this MC, if there are any, will also contain a manwhore. I'm tired of almost all new romances being the same - promiscuous or formerly promiscuous character(s). It's a very tired and old and overdone thing now, and I would love some variety and characters who are picky about who they sleep with. I'd love some actual romance in a romance book. You won't find that in this book.

2.5 "We need a cleaning crew ASAP" Stars
I liked the writing style and the story had potential BUT I had some trouble with many small details. Phoenix was a pig.... ashtrays overflowing with cigarette buts in every single room of the house, scratchy blankets, moldy fridge. His house doesn't even have napkins, only some that were included in a takeout order.... I can't even image how disgusting his bathroom will be... According to Olivia his breath smells like smoke, so another turn-off.
About Steel Cobras MC, they want to call themselves a motorcycle club but they use the kitchen of the president's luxurious condo to hold "church"... Nix is supposed to be the VP, still they don't back him up...
Overall, meh... and I didn't like the cover. They model doesn't look like a biker, more like a street gang member.

Moped Club
This book around Liv and Nix just wasn’t very exciting. California based moped, oh sorry I mean motorcycle club, that was a lot of bark and no bite.
It was just rather bland as far as MC’s go. And the fact that the female was okay living in Nix’s grease full gross apartment grossed me out and I lost respect for her.
They even do a bunch of stupid stuff when they know people are looking for them.
Like go to her super fancy apartment. She gets clothes, but doesn’t even take a shower. They go back to his mechanic parts full mattress the floor set up. Uh, why?
And at the end of the book you don’t know if they’re still living int that apartment or hers or what after the drama was worked out.
This book just didn’t have the draw I was hoping for. At least there was no cheating 🤷🏻♀️ I won’t try the others in this series.

Okay so I have to say I liked this book maybe a little more than I should have lol I dont know what to say except that bad boys are so attractive. Nix, also known as Pheonix, is part of a motorcycle club and what you would call a definite bad boy. When a rival gang starts to wonder into their part of the city they obviously are going to retaliate and protect what is theirs. Well that would have been a simple story and not quite as exciting. In this book we meet Olivia, who is found bound and gagged in the back of the car that Nix just stole! Throw in some amnesia and a father who seems to have money at the top of his priorities and you have yourself some nice twists in the plot.
Nix, although is the bad boy, is such a kind and caring character. He truly does put Olivia first and even does things he would have never thought possible prior to meeting her. Nix and his brother have that love hate relationship that is testing in this book but family ends up winning over and they work together in the end.

It was ok, I found myself lost throughout the book though. The connections between the main characters and even the secondary characters never truly clicked for me. It had potential, but it just didn't hit the mark.

This book started out strong with a car theft gone wrong due to a bound up female in the trunk. I was like hell yes, but then it was a complete fizzle.
The MC boys fought amongst themselves, lacked loyalty and had no respect for their leadership. The heroine made one poor decision after another. The big finale fight at the end was completely unbelievable and don't even let me get started about the forgiveness of her father. His betrayal should have been grounds for torture and death, not a nice family dinner when he said sorry.

I am loving me some Steel Cobras. MC romance books are always riveting and engaging but Evie Monroe... YES. I can't wait to see what is next, is it Cullen? Whatever you publish is going to be as addictive as Phoenix, aka Nix, VP of Steel Cobras. Nix and Olivia, aka Liv, might of met at the worst time/way, but trust me, this gorgeous hunk of a man is the absolute best thing to happen to him besides his Brother Jetson and the Steel Cobras. I am impatiently waiting for the next book.

Evie Monroe -what a job well done. When Phoenix and is MC get a tip for a job, it starts off wrong. Phoenix finds extra baggage in the trunk that he finds he wants to keep but could possibly mean problems for is MC. Phoenix has to deal with no support from his Club and some doubt with Olivia. However, after some attacts on the in the club, the club decides to help him to save the MC, save their jobs and lets him find love. Even though I was lucky to read this book early, I still bought a copy. This was just a well thought out and well written book. I recommend you one click it

Phoenix and Olivia's story is really good. There's something amiss from the start and once all falls into place it unravels something bigger. It's a page turner.

What happens when a dangerous biker finds a woman bound and bruised in the trunk of a car he just jacked? Well, he protects her, of course.
Nix is thrown for a loop when he discovers a sweet innocent blonde in the trunk. He is compelled to protect her, even when him MC brothers warn him against it. Olivia has no memory of how she ended up into the trunk of her father's car or why. However the men of the Cobras MC think she is an accomplice to their rival MC gang Hell's Fury.
Nix and Olivia are holed up in his apartment with nothing but an intense sexual chemistry and a bunch of condoms. You can guess what happens next. They fall for each other hard as her memory starts to return. By the time she remembers who she is, a prima ballerina with a lawyer father who deals in criminal activity, things start to go left.
To protect her father, she leaves Nix's protective care and runs straight into the lion's den. Nix has to go to battle with his brothers to convince them to help him free her. A full out war ensues as the Cobras protect their territory from the Fury and get Liv back in the process! A HEA moment closes the book out.
I enjoyed parts of this book, but felt as if it was missing something. Nix, for all of his bad ways, was really just an old softy. He wasn't tough enough to me. He should have been a beast as the VP of the Cobras, but he wasn't . I needed him to be more alpha.

Decent read & romance. I only occasionally got the MC vibe from it even though there was a good deal of MC type activity with the rival MC. The council members meet at the (wealthy) President's (very nice) home for 'church' and you get the impression that is not where the club members hang out. Apart from the council members, including Nix's asshole younger brother, you wouldn't even be aware there was a club. I spent most of the book wondering how 5 guys were an MC but exposition says there are actually 30 of them.
Nix found Olivia, missing her memories & tied in the trunk of a car he was stealing & takes her in while she gets her memory back. The club is against it & wants her gone. Olivia starts out terrified of the situation but eventually rolls with it & her and Nix become intimate. She gets her memories back & then does something stupid out of love, which leads to a showdown with the other club, a gangster & her criminally inclined (but in way over his head) father.
It was okay, decent enough I'd read another but not so good I'd eagerly await it's publication.

A wonderful action packed, fast paced, suspenseful and intriguing MC biker romance. It has twists and turns, romance, sizzling chemistry, steamy sex, a car heist, and a kidnapping that had me glued page after page to the end. Olivia and Phoenix may have been total oppisates but they had intense chemistry with instant attraction. He finds her in the stolen Mercedes badly beaten with no memory of how she got there. Capitivated by her he chooses to protect her against the judgment of his brothers. As she is depending on him and her memory starts to come back she realizes her father is a criminal lawyer and she leave Phoenix'sprotective care to protect her father. As Phoenix convinces his brother's to help it causes and a war with rival gang Hells Fury to protect their territory and get Olivia back. A entertaining and exciting addictive storyline. I voluntarily reviewed this standalone ARC.

"Phoenix", first in the Steel Cobras MC series, is a run of the mill and by the book read.
It's marred by Instalove almost from the start but, given that this is the norm in many similar books, what's the point in complaining.
Phoenix is the hulking VP of the Cobras, Olivia Amelie Baxter, is the hunted daughter of a crime boss with no memories at all of her previous life.
Rather than dropping her off at the nearest hospital Phoenix opts to place Olivia under his protective wing.
And, as luck would have it, there is plenty of time for sex between the gunfire and general mayhem that ensues as the Steel Cobras battle their enemies Hell's Belles, an all-girl MC from the wrong side of the tracks (I just made that last bit up - it's really Hell's Fury MC).
Of course Olivia eventually faces the traditional fate worse than death and, of course, Phoenix rides to the rescue. TBH the final battle is quite well done in cinematic flickering lights and darkness.

First off... Holy hotness batman!!! Is this cover not amazingly hot!! It will definitely make people read the synopsis of this book for that alone!
Phoenix aka Nix and Olivia aka Liv's story is one rolled coaster ride of steam, violence, romance of two completely different people! And I do mean Completely!! Liv is a naive, rich prima ballerina completely ignorant of her dirty, piece of a $π¡t fathers illegal buisness. Nix is a hard bada$$ biker who practically raised his younger brother. But somehow together they make since! Throw in two MC gangs fighting over the same town and Liv's POS father involved doesn't look good for Liv or Nix! No club wh0®€$, no cheating, Hea, epilogue, action, steam (melt your kindle ladies) somewhat Insta lust turned love but an awesome MC romance! 3.8 stars

Amazing story, memorable romance a certain MUST-BUY!
Wow! Evie Monroe has written a gritty MC romance that made my toes curl! I bought “PHOENIX” because I was familiar with the author, but the hunk on the cover was too much to resist! The trappings inside the book were even better. Monroe’s descriptive eloquence paired a beautiful amnesiac lady in need with the street-smart, gun touting grittiness of Phoenix Nash. While the rest of the story goes to prove that opposites attract, the cacophony of bad that flows through that message almost obliterates it. Add then the total steamy hotness of the chemistry that these two possess, it is no wonder the world around them seems to combust! I loved every minute of the ride. STEEL COBRAS rock!! Liked this a lot.
Phoenix is in the wrong place at the right time. Whilst in the process of boosting a car he discovers a body in the boot. A small blond very much alive and kidnapped body. Olivia is scared, disoriented and can't remember who she is let alone why she's kidnapped. Phoenix goes against his club orders and takes her home. With his club and even his own brother thinking he's thinking with another part of his anatomy Pheonix has a hard time convincing them that Olivias really in trouble. Meanwhile there's a club war brewing , Olivia has her memory return but refused to believe what's right in front of her until it's too late. This is a good story but there were a few bits that didn't ring true for me. Still worth a read but if you like your romance grittier this may be a little light.

As VP of the Steel Cobras MC Phoenix/Nix not only works on bikes in a garage he lifts cars for a living. Nix puts his life and club on the line for the woman who is becoming someone of importance to him. Were the people who kidnapped and beat Olivia still out there looking to finish the job off? Things come to blows when the rival MC makes a play at both Olivia and the Steel Cobras.
This was a fast paced MC read with a true alpha male bringing about all of the circumstances that were to follow him and this strong woman who wanted her life back.

While the premise of the story sounded intriguing, I had a hard time picturing Phoenix (Nix) as VP of this MC. It actually took me awhile to figure out his title. Whenever they would meet and he would bring up something about Olivia (the injured amnesiac woman they found tied up in the trunk of a car they stole), no one would believe or give any weight to what he said. ow could he have risen to the rank of VP if his opinions were so easily overridden?
And Olivia...some of the decisions she made after regaining her memories! Really?!
Like I said, the premise was great, I really wanted to love the story. There was suspense, danger, and hot,steamy scenes, but I just had a little trouble with the characters and some of their decisions.

Phoenix aka Nix is in a motorcycle club and their business is stealing expensive cars. When opening the trunk of their latest heist, there's a surprise in the trunk! She's gorgeous, she's hurt, and she has amnesia. Her name is Olivia and oh boy, does she come with baggage!!
Nix and Olivia have such chemistry together!! He's always been a man whore but there's something about her that makes him want to protect her forever.
Once I started this story I couldn't put it down!! I loved the flow, the characters, the hotness and the twist and turns!!

Phoenix or better known as Nix is part of the Steel Cobras MC. One of their biggest money makers is boosting cars and selling them to people overseas. When they go on a job and see that there is a lady in the trunk of said car beaten and bruised, he takes her to his house. Olivia comes from a wealthy family and her father is a successful businessman but are all of his dealings legitimate? You will find out when you read the book. In this action packed book, you will see loyalty, destruction, hatred and so much more. This book is well written and the characters were very interesting and I am looking forward to see where this author takes this MC.

I chose this rating because I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed most of the characters as well. I thought his book was a intense. MC's stealing cars then finding a kidnapped girl in the back of the car they stole. Finding out who you thought was a good person really wasn't a good person. To top it all off the person was to be related to you. I thought this book was intriguing, with some compassion, and really intense, and then there was also a lot of loving and caring for one another with Phoenix and his lady love. Great read. I recommend this book to all romance readers.

so..... I got this with Kindle Unlimited and while I loved the idea of her not remembering anything it just didn't really do it for me. She forget but then wanted something unlike her but then still wanted it when she remembered and I just felt like it was so rushed. I realize that a lot of romances go fast because its a story and it can't go on forever, but this just felt like it was rushed. I didn't feel them fall in love. I felt Phoenix's emotions a bit more than hers but still it didn't make me feel them falling in love. It wasn't the worst by far but it wasn't amaze balls. Quick dirty romance.
