When her head is artificially filled with more information than she knows what to do with, Daughter4254 finds she can’t trust her own thoughts, much less the words of anyone else.
Rumors come creeping in the night, and she finds herself faced with a choice she thought she’d left far behind when she’d walked out the doors of the compound.
Leigh Statham was raised in the wilds of rural Idaho, but found her heart on the East Coast. She worked as a waitress, maid, artist, math teacher, nurse, web designer, art director, thirty-foot inflatable pig and mule wrangler before she settled down in the semi-quiet role of teacher, mother, and writer. She resides in North Carolina with her four children, three dogs, and lots of cookie recipes.
Leigh is also the managing editor for the Teen Author Boot Camp poetry collection and a full-time high school English teacher. She has an MFA in YA literature and enjoys speaking engagements with book lovers of all ages.
In Book Two of Leigh Statham’s exciting series, readers rejoin Imani as she travels with Thomas to his home in the mountains, experiencing this colorful new world through her eyes. In IMANI UNRAVELED, Statham dives deeper into the relationship between Imani and Thomas and nicely juxtaposes the freedom of the mountain people against the confined, controlled lifestyle Imani has always known. This book’s tight writing, strong story arc, and emotional resonance combine to create another winner for Statham!
As the former daughter4254, develops her new life as Imani, she learns more about the mountain people she has longed to meet. Her friend, Thomas, rescues her from the guards and introduces her to what she thought would be friends. Everything isn't perfect and she has to choose her future. The book is filed with emotion and intensity. A wonderful read!
4.5 stars! I fell in love with these characters in the first book, but more so in this one. It totally lived up to my expectation and then some. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
